i reaad this at another forum, thought it loked like grate news!
Quote:

"As a leading representative of BioWare Corp. given the mamoth task of publicising the next in the series of Knights Of The Old Republic games (KOTOR 3), I have permission to confirm that this title is now several months underway.

This may come as a surprise to those who are currently reading this, as it was previously believed that the KOTOR staff had been cut from the LucasArts project. I can also confirm that the KOTOR 3 team is now officially on LucasArts budget and eagerly developing what we hope to be a 'must have' title on as of yet unconfirmed Next Generation platforms for 2006.

With more details to be released in the coming weeks, 3 points concerning KOTOR 3 can be posted:

1)The story takes place in a period roughly 14 years after KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords.

2)There will be new characters, equipment, classes, mini games and an entirely new combat system based on the interface used on Jade Empire.

3)The plot follows directly from the last game, plunging the galaxy into war with the True Sith.

This has yet to be posted onto the BioWare official website (www.bioware.com) as the pages are currently serving as a front to keep viewers occupied during a drastic remodelling process of the entire site.

As previously stated, this message is soon to be posted around the internet, and new details are to be released soon.

Keep checking back for more information."

What does evrybody think isnt tghat great?

I get mighty curious about announcements (with no proof) made by people with 1 post.

I hope he's right though.

OK, I calmed down now, and now it doesn't seem so plausible after all. >_>

Lets sum it up. A person signs up yesterday and posts this thread. there are no links to the post he presumably saw. I checked the bioware site, but it said nothing about "drastic remodeling". The forums doesn't mention anything about that or the game either. LucasArts hasn't said anything either. On top of it all, his nick is 'Random Thought'.

So, let me get this straight.

You are a first time poster....and you give zero sources that confirm this KOTOR 3 rumor to be true.

After using my uber googling skillls(alright, I entered "kotor 3" into google and click on the first link...it's still more than what you guys can seemingly do :p) and this is what I got:

Sin no more? You really shouldn't be the one telling him that, Rhett.

14 years after TSL, some of the KOTOR guys are going to be kinda old then i hope we get some of them back in our party members but i bet we don't.

yeah, what is most awry about that post is that it stated bioware were developing it. KOTOR2 was handed out to Obsidian, and may most likely stay with them for a sequel... who knows :( Until its up on Lucasarts.com Im not gonna believe any crap like this :(

*waves fist*

yeah, and like CapN said, I doubt Bioware would be stupid enough to employ "a leading representative" who can't even spell "great" :p

but i still haven't even replayed KOTOR1 as dark side yet!!!!

(didn't really have much incentive to pick up KOTOR2 as i was disappointed they hadn't fixed anything from KOTOR1.. but i'm sure i'll pick it up some time).

PHEW! Its not real..

Ok... the going forth and sin part is easy! :D Oh, wait... you just said "no more" didn't you? Uhhh,.. well then,.. nevermind. :(

:joy:

Now, if you would just care to also hand me a system that will actually be able to play these 2 games, 'cuz I don't currently have one.
My 5-year old Dell Pentium III doesn't meet the specs, and I don't own an XBox.

Aha! Now maybe KOTOR 2's price will go down enough for me to buy it without regretting it:)

... well... it would be nice if this were true but..

somehow I doubt it...

I guess we shall see...

Actually, It's a good idea to give KotOR III to Bioware. They have the Unreal 3 Engine and I wanna see them sexy SW babes in that helluva engine.

Pssst.. edlib,

An XBOX will only run you about $150 new, which is a bargain considering the price you would pay to upgrade Pentiums. I have KOTOR on both XBOX and PC, and I found the PC version to be kind of touchy depending on the graphic specs. It runs good on my desktop, but on my laptop? Forget it. I finally broke down and got the xbox version, but I have yet to play it myself. I hear it's pretty great, but I never have time to really sit down and play it. I didn't get KOTOR II, yet because I didn't finish the first one yet. So many games.....such little spare time....

If they didnt use the unreal engine so far in the series, itd be a bit strange if they implemented it now....

ah well, we'll just have to wait and see... hopefully kotor3, if ever released may have a decent multiplayer, which I'd never play because I have crappy dialup :p

Yeah, I know...
But I already have a Gamecube that I hardly ever play, as well as a stack of partially finished PC games. (The same spare-time dilemma.)
I'm afraid an Xbox will just become yet another dust collecting piece of consumer electronics around my house that I really don't have the room for.

If they really plummet in price once the X360 hits the market, I probably will pick one up.

I need a new PC (something that I do use each and every day) far more than one of them, though,.. and that's what I really should be saving my pennies for.

Can someone tell me the point of signing up to a forum just to make one bogus post? I seriously don't understand how this person gets enjoyment from this. Its not like he/she is profiting from it either. Its not even an ad. Some people......

Astro, Bioware got the engine after KotOR was made and are using it "For an untitled game".

I'm sure there WILL be a KOTOR 3 at some point though (or a similar game with a different name that is basically a sequel).

Must get around to Jade Empire as well...

So sorry guys.

If you're going to bump a thread, have something useful to say.

Incase you can't tell, as Ty has pointed out, people figured out it was fake quite a time ago.
