So how many Swampies purchase action figures?
Do you leave them in packages or take em out and play?
Do you have any pictures to share of your loot?

I dug out some of my gundams to display around and I got bored and did a little scene up of the jedi betrayal.

Pictures:

I have a bunch more action figures in storage with absolutely no place to put them, so right now it's the gundams I dug out and my RoTS figures.

PS: the Gundams are 1:100 Master Grades. I'm thinking of getting a Perfect Grade Mark II Gundam.

I hope to get a new wallpaper soon, this was my room when I was like 5 and I turned it into a Star Wars Room. Just started about 2 weeks ago, so still pretty empty.

Ahh... I now feel so very, very old. :(

I have a bunch of action figures and vehicles. None are on display. All are in storage. All were made by Kenner, and the last time I bought one was in 1983.

None are in the original packages. Most (except the very later ROTJ stuff) were played with.

I was a kid at the time... so sue me. Nobody ever thought people would actually collect these things.

I could never bring myself to throw them away though. Someday I might take them all out, clean them all up, take photos, and go for the eBay bonanza talked about earlier in the thread.

ZBomber

But see the thing with my toys are...well i used to carve up thier faces and make red marks to make it look like they are bleeding. So i got Akbar with 3 huge scratches across his torso looking like he got attacked by some tiger thing. And other figures have suffered the same fate.

*bump*

They're not really action figures, but they're something I collect. As Z, Zappa, and maybe Sith no I am fed up with Hasbro for a lot of their choices in figures made and their marketing practices. Almost a year ago, Wizards came out with a minis game with SW guys. I am one away from completing the first set and bought singles from the following two sets. I just got my cases of the fourth set in the mail and am so close to finishing it. Here's some pics:

Heroes (http://home.comcast.net/~katarn07/wsb/media/498477/site1121.JPG)
Villains (http://home.comcast.net/~katarn07/wsb/media/498477/site1122.JPG)
Beasts and Aliens (BIG version) (http://home.comcast.net/~katarn07/wsb/media/498477/site1123.JPG)
Beasts and Aliens (56k Friendly) (http://home.comcast.net/~katarn07/wsb/media/498477/site1124.jpg)
Battle of Hoth (http://home.comcast.net/~katarn07/wsb/media/498477/site1125.JPG)
Battle of Endor/ NJO vs Shadow Academy (http://home.comcast.net/~katarn07/wsb/media/498477/site1126.JPG)

They're fun to collect because like CCG it's all random and everything has a different rarity, fun to play with, and unlike most of the action figures, they're worth alot more than what I paid for them.

Katarn7, where'd you purchase those Star Wars Miniatures? I've looked in Walmart and Toys'R'Us and have only seen Star Wars Attacktix. Where do you find those at?

Wal-Mart is pretty much sold out of RotS boosters which are the first set to actually show up in retail stores around here. It's out of print, as is Clone Strike. Good luck finding those for a decent price ;)

I dunno if Wal-Mart or Target plan on getting the huge set or any other future ones for that matter. Do you have a local gaming store in a mall or something that sells AD&D and stuff like that? That's where I originally bought my starter. But retail price for these things is outrageous. If you're comfortable with online shopping, it's cheaper and more reliable to getting decent pulls. I recommend coolstuffinc.com. Non-huge boosters started at $8 each opposed to retail of $13. They're only so high now because those particular sets are out of print and impossible to get in stores. Huge boosters start at $13 opposed to $20 retail. If you have the money, I'd recommend getting a case instead of a bunch of boosters. It costs the same as if you got that amount of boosters from the site, only you're guaranteed a good blend of VR/R. In a normal set (12 in a case), there were 4 VRs and 6 Rs. In the huge set (6 in a case), you get 2 VRs and 4 Rs. If you do it individually, it's a 1/3 chance to pull those VRs which are usually the best pieces in the game.

Oh, and if you wanna get into even more detail, I'd just tell ya to ask me about it in the collecting area here (http://lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=148084&page=4). There's a bit more there I left out.

Katarn07

They're neat. I like them. It's a fun game too, but I'm not too into that. More or less casual play. I don't go to tournies or anything.

And if you buy singles, eBay is the place to go. I found Luke Jedi Master for 'only' $28. Yeah, that's very expensive for a tiny piece of plastic, but it beats paying $45 from coolstuff or $30+ on all other eBay auctions. I may need to jump on him for the sake of getting him at a low price. Imagine what he'll be when this set is out of print! :| I can wait awhile on the other VRs I need (Ackbar, Leia, Kyle) because they don't sell for that much compared to Luke.

Ok, TiE, just for that remark I'll have to defend my collection and show you how my basement looks because my room is less than half of it :p

Great finds, Moeller. PotF2 are my favs because I played with them. And TPM was just so cool because of the whole midnight madness thing (which I didn't go to, but did go the minute the doors opened). I wouldn't give those away for the world. PotJ and up? Probably if I'd need to or just don't have the room. I kinda lost my love of the hobby then and now it's just a chore but it is something to do with my dad. Probably the only reason I still do it.

As for that 500th Vader, I dunno how to open it. I didn't open mine just because unlike 300th Boba, he's not worth taking out. He doesn't fit into a scene at all. 300th Boba, on the other hand, did. I say leave him in.

The figure is real...not custom. Spidey is TOTALLY West Coast! :p

She survives? She takes a bunch of shots, and they shoot her when she is down, too. :p

Oh, wait, they have a book or two about her, dont they?

Amy Allen said in an interview shortly before ep. III came out that she "doesn't die"...

Right because people always take dozens of gun(blaster)shots to the back and just get up and dust themselves off ALL the time.

She has blaster-resistant robes...that don't cover most of her torso.....

Clones diorama thing. (http://www.boomspeed.com/insanesith/Star_Wars_Figures/Clones_diorama.jpg)

Got a bunch of new clones and I'm currently working on making a backdrop to set the scene.

Nice figures you got there. :) I especially like the trooper trying to help a fallen comrade on the right. I'd post mine, but, um... they're LEGO minifigs. Not 'action' enough. :(

Yah, nice, but why is one of them stepping on the gimp?

Since the search for a doll tophat at work failed. I decided to just go ahead and make my own.

You all may bow to my superiority.

Haha, that reminds me of this:

Nice. My Utapau scene's got a downed clone with another calling over for the medic rather than the guy treating himself. And another is a clone on top of that Spider Walker shooting it from the top. Both scenes ripped straight from RotS. I think the clone running on the far left is the best part. Looks like he's actually avoiding gunfire. How the hell did you get him to do that without a stand? I'm sure the dead guy behind him plays some part in that.

And I did get Gree some time ago. I have Yoda standing over his body with his head nearby. Sweet deal. Now all I need to get is a clone with a lightsaber to go through his chest and Yoda flipping over the body :p

I've got him being held back upon his weight using the dead clone.

Physics pays off.

Get one of those 5-packs from Target for 10 dollars, use one of the as the impaled clone. :D

Well, I found a bigger version of the Sky Captain Warhawk and am tempted to get it. I looked on eBay and found none (they're that limited....) but did find something interesting. Unfortunately, it's way too expensive ($400!) and I hope the guy relists them half price so I can get them as an early Bday gift or something:

http://figuremasterles.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/skycaptaindexfrankie.jpg
The likenesses are all great for not actually being made to resemble them. The outfits are all 100% accurate save for Sky Captain's scarf which the guy said he's reworked since that was taken.

I found some more great work this guy's done. These are all still in his private collection and not for sale. But with prices like that, I doubt I'd get them anyways.

Once again, the likenesses are amazing; especially Piett's. I hope he uses the Veers to make Donavan from the Last Crusade.

http://figuremasterles.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/indy2.jpg
Best Indy I've ever seen. Just look at the detail of his jacket! It's one of the best head sculpts I've seen (check out the scar) and the five o clock shadow looks real. Best of all, the fedora is scaled unlike all other ones I've seen, officially licensed or customs!

Stuff I would not like to have but worth showing off.

http://figuremasterles.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/epiiiobiwan007.jpg
Hasbro never made a RotS Obi. For taking that poorly sculpted Ewan from TPM and turning him into that is damned impressive. I don't have the room for yet another Obi though so wouldn't bother ever dreaming to spend a kijillion dollars on it.

http://figuremasterles.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/ep4vader05.jpg
The pic is to show off the Anakin. The Vader, while impressive, is styled to represent the newest versions of George's movies. Yeah, he's got the yellow eyes and is minus his eyebrows just like the RotJ DVD. The Anakin, unlike Hasbro's, is evil and has his hooded cloak.

The one of Bruce is so-so, but look at the amazing Batman and Alfred! Those are too cool.

Look for yourself. Some of them are nothing more than models but the actual figures, both custom made and the repaints, are great.

There. The entire collection is now online. Some are dated, but good enough. Most of the basement shots are all new; the rest I've already posted.
