1. I finished changing all the faces in the game (for the playable character) mostly just because it was fun. Now I'm trying to figure out the bodies, and I realized that I have no idea what the file names are for the bodies (be it the player or the NPC ones), or well . . . how to get at them in the first place - I'm still rather new to this - I've been trying to figure this out on my own while my internet connection was down and have had no luck at all. :\

2. I'm also curious as to, just what I can do to get the skin tones on the bodies and faces to better match up other than using the same technique over again.

-

3. One last thing, and I really have no clue on this one - all the faces I retextured came out fine except for PMHH01. PMHH01d1, and PMHH01d2 - all of which have this wierd black triangle sticking out of the side of their face when it turns to certain positions (in combat especially - but sometimes, even worse, in certain dialogue camera angles) . . . I really which I knew what caused this so I could make it go away. :(

Most of the body textures are under 'P' in KT, so a good idea to shuffle through them without opening up every one individually is to open up one and put it on one side of the screen, and then put kt on the other side, and then just keep pressing the down arrow key and the preview will change. Hopefully that makes sense... :)

2. I'm also curious as to, just what I can do to get the skin tones on the bodies and faces to better match up other than using the same technique over again.Probably not too much you can do other than doing what you said. I know when I do robes and stuff with no gloves, I do the skin on one of them and then just select it and copy it over onto the other robe textures.

Sorry, but I have no answer for that...

A screenshot would help for your 3rd question, for your 2nd question the best thing I find is to make something more brown make a new layer at mode "color" and then color it in the shade of brown you want. That will only however, change the skin tone slighty, if you want heavier results use mode overlay or maybe even color burn at a very low opacity. As for #1 the body textures are under (using Kotor Tool) Kotor(II)>ERFs>TexturePacks>swpc_tex_tpa.erf>P Directory. The first texture under there should be a lil bit down because some of the textures are for the levels/modules like Peragus.

Hope that helps :)

For those wondering what this is.... let me tell ya' :D hehehe...

It's a random polygon on the right side of the longer-haired hispanic male PC head... ;)

I've searched everywhere in the head model trying to figure out where this thing is (so I could try and fix it) but haven't had any luck...

You can't really see it too good in this pic (I'm at work again, so I don't have my high res pics)... but to the lower right, you'll see a hint of the polygon on his cheek just behind the mask..

here's a better example:

again, it seems to come out of his cheek / neck... but usually only when in a flourish/combat stance... ;)

Yes that's it exactly, only because - I assume - I'm using different colors it's comming out black instead of fleshtone which makes it even more noticeable and annoying. :( I'd never used the head until now so . . . wow that sucks. :( There's nothing that can be done about it at all?

Example of what it looks like in my game:

Thanks for the help with the other stuff, all of ya, that helps so much. :)

Well, I wouldn't say "nothing".. I'll see if I can experiment with the head model to see if I can find something I've been overlooking... but one hint that your skin gave me was that since it's black on your model... the "trouble spot" is somewhere near the hairline, lip line, collar or eyebrows...(of the head skin .tga)

If you can find the particular spot, a simple alpha masking might be a temporary fix... but it's gotta be pretty much exact or you might wind up having a "hole" in the PC's face

I'll try looking for the spot, I'm not too good at any of this yet - but that sounds simple enough. Anyways, I can just pass off any extra holes in my head as old Lightsaber wounds. :twogun:

P.S. Found the bodies I needed thanks guys! ^-^

AGCK,
I guess thats item number 1,422 on the list of incompleted things in Kotor 2 <_<
If I had a modeling program that could open mdl files I would change that head and upload it to pcgm but I dont know very much about that stuff :(

*In Photoshop
To match skin tones my trick is copy a small swatch of skin from an underwear body skin that has highlights, mid tones, and shadow tones the same as I’m aiming for. Or vs versa use a swatch from a head skin to match with a body that I’m working on.

I copy my working skin area Ctrl + J [clone target layer ] and using Ctrl + u [ hue /saturation ] I tweak the skin to match the highlight tone or mid tone by eyeballing with the underwear skin on a layer *on top of my working area and off to the side . * This way I can tell when I get it. ;)

Using this method I turned the blue twin moon assassin‘s skin in to an alternate body model / skin tone for visas.

You could also use the clone brush tool however it can be tricky and make your job much more difficult by cloning unwanted edge pixels and making a mess of things.

About that odd face I haven’t seen it in game, just in ChAiNz’s screenshot I think it’s an edge that is either flipped wrong. Has no smoothing groups or a different smoothing group then all the polys around it. So it sticks out like a sore thumb, but that’s only a theory?

Edit : ok in your screen shot it looks like a Uv mapping issue overlapping on the hair or eyes
