View Full Version : Armband textures on PC?

I'm trying to create a custom armband, and I'd like to give it a custom texture. I think I've found the icons that I need to change it on the equip screen, but when I was searching for them, I found a number of files that were named "i_forearm_*". I'm wondering if these are textures for the character when you're wearing those items. Does anyone know for sure what those are? And if they are what I think they are, how do you get your model to reference them?

I'm almost positive that armbands have no model effect on the character. Im pretty sure if there were, we would see a bunch of those mods. Also since that content was not in tsl its unlikely that it is there, cut content is one thing but a whole model variable is another.
As for what the i_forearm_ means I am not sure, but I bet either Fred or cchargen can help you with that.

I didn't think there was, since I never noticed any differences when putting on the standard armbands. It is strange though, I wonder what those files do. There's 9 files under the swpc_tex_tpa.erf file that start with i_forearm. For that matter, there's also "i_belt"s, "i_implant"s (which how would you show an imp... never mind, don't think I want to go there :barf: ), and other stuff like that. The only thing that I'm aware of like that that does have an effect on the model are the masks.
My guess is that it's probably an artifact, one of those things that programmers start, then for one reason or another, never finish (I'm discovering that happens a lot even in professional releases - makes me feel a lot better :D).

Most of the items that don't need a model do have one(ie. Armbands, implants, gauntlets,ect. There are even shields( and a few other odd models, but there is noway of making them show up on the PC.
