Yes indeedy, I'm now officially a college man with an alma mater and everything! As of August 24th I've been in the Electronics Engineering program at Central Missouri State University (CMSU) in Warrensburg, MO. Anyone here ever been there?

Who else is entering college this year? Where are you going? What are you taking?

Going to be a freshmen at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) majoring in Electrical Engineering. I don't start until September 19th, however. =)

Congrats on graduating from high school and entering the wonderful world of college!

Sweet, you're going to the best University of California's campus for electronics/computers.

Congrats Rhett, just prepare a bit for the personal and elongated hazing! :thmbup1:

Oh neat. :)

I was originally looking for a CE program but landed on the Electronics one because it was geared moreso towards the specific areas I'd like to focus on like microcontroller work and hardware in general.

Electical Engineers are weird..

Computer Science Majors are where it's at. I'm starting my third year at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

I agree, the electrical engineers are weird. :^: The Electronics Engineers, however, are giant globules of awesomeness. Wrapped in bacon. And deep fried.

With gravy too.

I've been by that college before I think, ET.

I moved into my first dorm on Friday. I'm at Champlain College, majoring in Networking. My first college class starts Monday morning. Math at 8am. Ugh.

I'm in my senior year at Binghamton U in upstate NY. Looking to truck out to a good law school once I'm done here. Probably something on the West Coast, since that would just be all kinds of awesome.

I've been by that college before I think, ET.Well if you've been in Boulder, odds are you've been close to CU, since campus is a pretty major feature of the city :D

That's awesome Rhettski !!!

Nothing is more valuable than a college education when it comes to promoting yourself in the job market. Even if you end up not practising in that given field, having a degree under your belt is absolutely always an advantage. It also means you get a much higher starting salary(the best bit) :D I highly recommend post graduate studies once youre out and settled. Being a specialist in a field is professionally very gratifying, and financially rewarding... the only people who make more $$$ are politicians, drug barons and elite athletes :p

Good Luck!

One piece of advice, though.

It is extreemly important to actually go to class!!! I learned this the hard way, sadly. :(

On a positive note, you will meet some very interesting people. I had a cowboy for a english probfessor. He always wore his hat to class. Its rather odd when you relize the guy wearing leather motorcycle gear and a cowboy hat is your english teacher!

Sophmore year, my english teacher was a hugh beatles fan. We got to write a report on the song "Eleanor Rigby." Now that was awsome!

And did I mention the girls? :naughty:

Have fun and good luck!

I just started on the 24th as well. though I just going to a community college so I can see how it is and get some core classes out of the way for cheap. So far it's fun, but my history teacher seems to want to teach economics... :p

I second that ;)

I got my Electronics Engineering degree and look where I'm at today! :D ... err.. wait a minute... scratch that... hehehe...

Contrats on skewl Boba, have fun and be sure to buy the same calculator the Professor uses. They tend to show you "tricks" to make things easier ;)

I...don't know what I've got for a first class, because my school counseler is a f***tard, but I find out tuesday.

It's pretty awsome sauce though, cause I get to go in the morning and see all my friends for the first two days, but don't actually start until wednesday :D

This is my first year of college. I'm not going anywhere special, just a community college. Although College of DuPage is supposedly one of the best community colleges in the country. I hear from students though it's like highschool, only campus is much much bigger.

I start Wednesday. Ugh. I miss highschool already. I miss Jr High even more :p

Well...Classes started today at Shoot 'em up Kent State. It's kinda weird because of me taking last year off. Tutition was too high and I had to wait for independent student status. Anyway, starting up again to finish my history degree and hopefully going into grad school for instructional tech. Welcome to the real world, Rhett. And to the world of tuition hikes, bad proffs, and random other things you will learn to hate. :)

I miss slacking off and doing nothing and still passing with straight A's. Other than that, there is nothing about either of those I'd wanna do again ;)

3rd Year of community college at my fourth community college. Right now I go to Cuesta Community College which is located in San Luis Obispo where Cal Poly is located at. Hope to transfer in a year if I have the money and don't have to take another year off to get some of that green stuff which seems to make the world go round.

The americas, Europe, we wanna see the lot :) i think when i do get back to schooling, i'm gonna study something like Teaching or mental health. dunno why, i just want to be one of those teachers that all the students love.
