Ack. I love the comic but I never saw the film... was it really that bad?

I never saw the film either.
Let's hope a nude scene by Jennifer Love Hewitt will save the sequel.

It was worse.

Why was Garfield animated while Odie was not? I could never grasp that.

Imagine the worst thing possible, then crap on it, swallow it again, and then vomit it and you roughly have Garfield the Movie.

Did Uwe Boll (http://cgw.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3143249&did=1) make it?

I don't think so. Here's (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0356634/) a link to the IMDB page for it.

I can't help but notice that Bill Murray is not part of the movie this time around.

Good for him.

Also never saw it, to be honest, I didn't really like the cartoon that much, just the comic strip (which the cartoon never managed to capture). Here's a random piece of trivia for you, as you know, Bill Murray played Garfield in the film, but the guy who did the voice for the cartoon (Lorenzo Music) also did the voice of Dr. Peter Venkman in the cartoon of Ghostbusters (right at the beginning of the cartoon), the same role played in the original Film by Mr Murray. I always found that to be kinda cool. Sort of.

But yeah, if Garfield dies in the next movie, I'll be sort of happy...I guess.

Oh, err.. Joshi, I just noticed, there is something strange with the animation in your signature. The style moves one or two pixels to the left right after it gets it's blue glow. It's somewhat irritating to me.. No, I doubt it's intentional. And no, I could not have send you a PM. :dozey:

However. If so, then I don't need one at the moment. No. I don't. I don't want to mask my true self with colourful funny images. I'm a plain text-mode-punk right now. Feel it. Yaah-maaan.

What does "Gat-itude" mean? Is it some lame conjunction of "Garfield / Cat" and "Attitude", or is it some crappy form of the word "Garfield"?

Fealiks

ouch. garfield the movie really pissed me off cause it didnt have half the comedy of the comic strips. Garfield two?! they actually got enough from garfield 1 to make another movie?!?! REALLY?!?!!!??? holy sh*t... my guess is it'll be garfield drawn on in MS. Paint onto a crappy cardboard cut out backdrop.

Kjølen
09-29-2005, 06:48 PM
Well that appears to be Spanish, Portugese, or French or something, so it's probably short for "gato", which is "cat" in Spanish at least.

Garfield was a financial success (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0356634/business) it seems. At an estimated $50,000,000 budget it got around $75,000,000...

All the people who complain about it should have checked reviews and then NOT gone to the theater or bought the DVD. It's the same as with buggy games. People buy too much crap and then complain. There's a bazillion review sites out there and most are competent enough to give warnings. But no, people have to be part of the hip crowd and be able to engage in discussions. While I encourage everyone who wants to talk about something to have experienced it first hand (something that seems to be missing in most Boll discussions I witness), I do believe that consumers can set signs by just not buying or (when concerning games) waiting for a patched version (which is also less costly).

The worst thing about it was that THE VET LIKED JON!!! What were they thinking? Jon is a loser who will never get a girlfriend! They screwed all that up!

90SK
10-01-2005, 11:08 PM
I know! And what ever happened to Lyman, Jon's old roommate? Odie was Lyman's dog to begin with. They completely altered everything!

Like, the only similarities between comic and movie are the names of the characters. That, and the fact that Garfield is seemingly overweight, though to be fair the animated Garfield in the movie looked more like a sheep than a cat.

Mr Cheese

Hee hee... More like a sheep than a cat.... I don't think I could have made the movie worse if I tried... Actually, whenever I try to make something bad, I always end up making it good. I'm a perfectionist.
