View Full Version : Recruit Bastila on Star Forge

I wanted to put together a mod for a LSM Revan to recruit Bastila back into the party for the final fight with Malak on the Star Forge. I think there's probably enough dialog in the game to create some decent back-and-forth banter between them. However, there are a couple of issues I'm wondering about.

In the cutscene following Revan back through the hanger doors to the Ebon Hawk after Malak's defeat, I'd like to be able to include Bastila in the scene walking through the doors with him. I'd also need to be able to destroy the original that's already waiting for Revan inside the hanger as part of the cutscene without causing any subsequent dialog problems with Bastila(i.e. game crashing due to the original Bastila being destroyed).

I've never worked with in game cutscenes before, so I have no idea how to do this. I figured I'd solicit a few opinions from people with a much higher IQ than myself(seems to be a lot of people in that category here :) ) How much work would this be? Could it even be done effectively? Any thoughts?

I think this would probably not be possible. It sounds to me like that sort of thing is hard-coded into the game.....but I don't know for sure.

Thanks MDKnightR. I was afraid someone would say that. Perhaps it would be easier simply to remove that cutscene altogether, though it wouldn't be nearly as satisfying, IMO.

Do you want to have Bastila join the fight against with you after you turn her back to the light? I think its very possible to work around the scripts to have bastila join you instead of saying you(Revan) must to go alone to confront Malak.

But this would take some scripting skill and patients.

How badly do you want to make it happen. ;)

It's funny but I always wanted a possibility to turn Bastila to the lightside on Temple Summit and a possibility to convince her to fight Malak in the end :)

It would make KOTOR more RPG and less linear game. Like Fallout.
