Hi there! I'm new here (Though have been lurking for quite a while) and the last couple of times I have tried to mod KotOR II (Or KotOR for that matter) I have ended up wrecking them, I have no idea how but there you go. There was one particular cut-scene which made me want to redo some of them, and that is on the Harbinger when you watch the recording of Sion waking up- I think it could do with a lot of improvement. So some questions: Which tools will I need to do this? and also: How would I go about doing it? Thank you in advance.

Depending on what you want to do exactly, you'll probably only need to edit the .dlg file and some scripts. You need kotor tool, tk102's dlgeditor, and nwnnsscomp.exe (script compiler).

To decompile the .ncs files, you can use DeNCS or this package which contains the decompiled scritp with DeNCS: http://pcgamemods.com/mod/14269.html (note that a manual verification is necessary as sometimes there are weirdnesses when decompiling with DeNCS.

What kind of improvements do you want to bring?

Erm. Well on the Sion waking up cut scene I was thinking of adding the medical officer's scream for starters. And also a big ship like the Harbinger should have more than one medical officer so I thought perhaps of having more people, a droid or something milling around and working on consoles etc. Then when Sion wakes up they all scarper, screaming or something or faint, Sion could force push the droid away or something.

Right ok so I got the tools and the scripts. How would I go about spawning new NPCs?
