View Full Version : Actress confirmed for Indy 4?

I posted this in the Indy forum but then realized how many Indy fans there probably are that don't even go there. Heck, I'm a huge Indy fan and just started going there when they updated the site earlier this year. Even then, there's little to no activity.

Just a rumor yet to be confirmed by Lucas or Speilberg. I dunno what to think because I'm pretty sure Connery hasn't been confirmed for the new movie. Either she slipped and let something out she shouldn't have, isn't informed herself that he won't be in the film, or it's all just some big phoney lie. Despite my skepticism, it is definately something worth sharing. Her age (19?!) either means one of three things in my eyes.

-Recall the woman who played Elsa (Alison Doody was it?) in LC was only 21 at the time playing a woman in her mid 30s (script said 39). They aren't gonna pull the same thing here are they? I personally hope not, especially if they're considering her as a love interest. Eww.

-Another idea, probably the most obvious, is it is Indy's daughter. We've been hearing that rumor for ages now. I am not a fan of this idea. The only usefulness of it is to bring back an Indy girl from one of the first two that Indy knocked up. If they're not using a new Indy woman, I pray it's not Kate Capshaw but rather Karen Allen. Marion was the best Indy girl in terms of character.

-Or the possibility yet. She is one of Indy's students. I wanna see the teacher side of Indy. I think it'd be cool if the adventure drags some students into the mix. Don't they need to go on digs themselves to learn? The adventure could take off from there. I think it's obvious I'm in favor of this idea. Something new and fresh yet to be done in the films yet almost sure it could work well.

Well... at least the Japanese and Germans would love it.

I'm not really sure about story or anything, but she's hot, so it's all good if she's really casted.

She looks like half the 15 year old chavs I see pushing their kids around town with that haircut and vacant expression....

Not knowing what role she'll play makes it hard to comment, but picking a model seems a bit odd for a role that (if its the daughter) you would think would require a tough character is a bit odd.

I rememeber 10 years ago at uni discussing the rumours about the 4th indy film and looking forward to it. To be honest I've kind of lost interest after 10 years... and now harrison ford is about 1000.

Casting a young girl as a love interest would be daft, as it would merely make him look even older, and cause half the reviews to talk more about the age difference than the film. (like when they cast that young girl as a figure skater against the ageing roger moore in For Your Eyes Only).

Personally, given indy's past, I like the idea of an illegitimate, unexpected daughter... and marion would probably work quite well as a potential mother. I always thought a fiesty eliza dushku type would work best in the role. Then they should kill off either her or indy...

I like the daughter idea. If they go that way, Marion would have to be the mother. Kate Capshaw, well, lets just say I wasn't too fond of her.

I think I have a good name for Indy's daughter too. Dakota Jones! hehe

I hope shes on the screen alot because she is HOT!

Yeah, the daughter idea is good if Marion is the mother. Marion would be back (yay!) and the daughter would have the same kinda character. Just imagine Willie raising a girl. We don't need two Willie Scotts in the series!

And I too think she's hot, but I need a full body shot. I thought Keira Knightly was good looking once until I saw she was a twig with a head on it. :barf:

BIG EDIT: I did a bit more snooping around that site and found this is old news. Here's more from the older article. The newer article just posted a pic and a confirmation from her agent.

Her part will be small but it is a speaking role. Dutta's agent did state that contracts have been signed. As of now it is a done deal, with just the required legal mumbo-jumbo left. Dutta is new to acting, but the casting department liked what they saw. Dutta's agent also stated that casting for Indy 4 has been going on for some time, but for just how long we don't know.

Well, we can rule out the daughter possibility.
