Ok. I've been wanting to give some items in 3ds Max 7 a "glow", for example, the Ebon Hawk's engines and M4-78's atmosphere, and then rendering it as an .avi. My process by which I'm doing this is (n00bish huh?):

1: Rendering/Video Post...
2. Add Scene Event
3. Choosing the camera I use for rendering.
4. Add Image Filter Event...
5. Selecting "Lens Effect Glow"... Pressing Ok...
6. Highlighting Lens Effect, and editing the filter event by pressing Setup.
7. I press VP Queue, and Preview to see my fx... Press ok when done...
8. Add an Image Output event.
9. Select .avi as the output.
10. Press the "Running Man" symbol to render...

I see the effects while it renders, but when I go to play the actual .avi, none of the effects show up! Help, please?

On another note... Can you use music in mods from the movies, from movie soundtracks, or from the Lucasart website? Also, I know TSL page (Kotor2.com) had random v/o for Kreia and Sion, and would it be legal to use those in a mod? Thanks in advanced.

About the films I do not know. But if you are looking for new VOs might I suggest you have a look at a lot of the leftovers from E3 there are a lot of Atton comments that can be easily spliced to fit, and they haven't been used before anyway. But about the website? I'd imagine you couldn't use that for VO as it is not included in the original game so you'd be breaking copyright, I hope this helps. Though I'm sure there are lots of solicitors and lawyers around here who could most probably help you out with this matter better than I.

Edit: And no no music from the films, unless you want to buy rights to them, lol.

Technically you can use little clips from the film soundtracks but you can't use the whole song.

Example: This (http://www.pcgamemods.com/mod/14716.html) mod is OK since it only uses a small clip from the actual songs but the not all of the songs themselves. As for the VO's, I imagine you could use them since you don't have to pay for them and they are right on the website . But I could be wrong. wait till Darth333 shows up or one of the other super smart staff people and I think they will answer your questions ;)

Yay for Super Smart Lucasforums staff! Maybe they could recreate the planet in their own image. Anyway, I would be very careful when dealing with the soundclips from the webpage. Perhaps you could send an email to Lucas arts asking about them? And actually I think you are right about the film music, Maker, as I think that (THis is British Copyright law anyway) you can have 10% of it copied without it being illegal, though I'm not sure.

I'm sure Darth333 could say for certain as she is a Lawyer in Canada. However there is enough video cutting and editing worldwide as well as audio sampling that everything becomes gray frequently. I do know Audio Copyrights have been well known for being much more strict than Video as it has been around much longer and there have been many legal battles involving music copyrights.

Perhaps... but there are many types of lawyers... ;)
