The 2005-2006 Webdesign International Festival will simulteanously be held this weekend, in over 10 countries. Here's a little info about the competition :

Teams of two or four people have to produce a graphic, dynamic and interactive web interface based on the theme which has been given to them. The competition takes place over 24H non-stop and the theme is only given to competitors at the start.

2 steps:
- The 18th and the 19th of November 2005/The International preselections : International heats are held in a number of different countries (including France), which the participation of partner contries (Canada, Poland, Russia, Belgium, United-States, United Kingdom,...).They will be held in coordination with the French heats and will also take the form of 24H Webjam. This competition will be held simultaneously in all the countries and will be broadcast live on the Internet.

- The 2nd, the 3rd and the 4th of Febuary 2006/the final phase at limoges: Two to four teams in the categories "amateurs" and "professionals" will then be selected to participate in the major final in France, at Limoges. This final competition will be a veritable display cases of webdesign skills, it promotes the ICT professions in each country and highlight yhe potential for economic development in each case. The festival is based on a concept of entertainment and competition, brings together professionals, amateurs, fans, ordering customers and general public.

Jury members may belong to the main organisations serving on the steering committee, or be professionals, journalists, experts, company delegates and the like.

I'm proud to say I will be part of the canadian preselection competetion, and that I will hopefully represent my country during the finals in France. Anyhow, needles to say I won't be coming here this weekend. I'll keep you posted when the competition is over.

it doesn't have India. The contest doesn't deserve to be held...

But anyways, go win some gold.

EDIT: This thing scares me: http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/5451/untitled2copy8lx.th.jpg (http://img505.imageshack.us/my.php?image=untitled2copy8lx.jpg)

doesn't seem to have the UK either...

France (Montbéliard), Belgium, England, Spain, Canada, United-States, Russia, Poland, Romania, Brazil, ... organise the International pre-selections on the November 18th and the 19th 2005 in order to participate to the finale in France on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th February 2006.

I seem to remember England being part of the UK. You can even see UK mentioned in coupes post.

Anyway, I think it's that the countries actually have to submit teams to get in.

After 4 hours, thing are going smoothly so far... We're currently in the early stages of writing the contents, and programming, but the design is going well.

Anyways, I gotta run. I'll try to post some pictures later.

Today, countries don't compete with one another. Preselections are being held around the world but the competitors compete against people from their ouw country. Today's winners from every country, will later meet for the final competition in France.

So you can still root for me ^^

I have no idea who the competitors are for the US, so I'll root for you even when you make it to France for the final competition. Good luck coupes. :)
