Check out this Crazy Christmas display. (http://www.ffmcobalt.com/WizardsofWinter-SM.wmv) Glad I don't have their electric bill.

Edit: the website I linked to is no longer working. it can now be found at http://media.putfile.com/WizardsofWinter-SM . (Thanks to RoxStar)

. . .

I'm glad I don't live near them.I bet they get a lot of complaints about it from people who are trying to sleep. Holy freaking crap.

That's pretty awesome though, I wonder if they can use other songs too.

so does the music actually play or is it just added into the vid? cause if i were a neighbor i'd be annoyed by a constant repeating song.

Hehehehe that was funny.

Think of how long it took to program those lights... to match the song exactly.

Trial and error

The electric bill wouldn't be too bad, considering that the lights only flash.

But anyways, if that was going constantly, no one in their neighborhood would be able to sleep, especially the people in that house. Or else you'd have weird dreams where lights were flashing to metalish music.

You gotta admit, that IS extremely awsome.
Wonder how it would look to program it to play Black Sabbath, ACDC or ZZtop on that thing...

They should do this (http://dkanime.ytmnd.com/) on a constant loop, that would send anyone into a seizure, or make them rip their ears off. :D

I suspect that the display is nowhere near that intricate, and that much of the syncing to the music was done in video editing.

Call me a cynic if you wish...

That song rules, does anyone know what it is?

"Wizards in Winter" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They do a lot of metalish Christmas music.

I couldn't find it there. That site is full of ads that lead to bad websites.

Follow up to this thread. NBC had the family on tv this morning. The house is in Mason, Ohio. They used a FM transmitter for the audio instead of speakers. So when you drive by and tune the radio to the right station, you can hear the music and watch the lights. They said that the electric bill is only $150 more than usual.
