hey

i was able to make quite a few mods for battlefront 1, and i was happy to learn that battlefront 2 used the same hex system. however. i felt the jet trooper was a bit weak (for my personal tastes) and i tried giving it a clone trooper rifle as its primary weapon instead of the emp gun. but no matter what i tried, it crashed, does anyone have any tips i could use on how to modify a units weapon?

Well, wait until the update for mod support, and the release of mod tools.

i have an update, i was able to figure out that you can give a unit any weapon that is in it can actually have..like say give the normal trooper a elite rifle. however you have to make it instead of the thermal detonator. and the icon doesnt appear properly, but the thing is you can do that anyway when you start building up your rankings, getting legendary on any of the awards allows you to have that award permanently. so i might wait for the update to come out with tools.

on another note, the character replacement is the same in battlefront 2 as it is in battlefront 1, so you can have darth vader on hoth permantently instead of a sharpshooter or trooper or w/e you want to overwrite. or mace windu on geonosis, etc etc. but the character has to be in the map to begin with. so you cant have darth maul on geonosis. or aayla secura on coruscant.

Hi i just joined the forums, and i am no modder. i am curious how to do replacements of weapons and heroes like you just said. can you explain exactly how? much appreciated if you could :grnbounc:

I think the biggest weapon replacement we need is the Darktrooper rifle. It needs to look like the Darktrooper weapon, fire the right projectile with maybe two rockets secondary, and still be balanced.
