This is about the first mission in which the experimental tie-fighters appear after you have responded to the distress call. It seems I cannot eliminate the fighters fast enough before too much of the convoy is destroyed. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Fly your a$$ off. That's about all that can be said about this mission. You just gotta make sure you don't follow one around trying to kill it. This is one of the toughest missions, not because it's particularly difficult, but because the only way to win is to just plain be a good shot.

One thing that might help is if you cheat a little to your left before the distress signal comes in. That will place you that much closer to the hyperbouy when the call comes in.

Turn off laser charging. Try to transfer some energy from shields to lasers if you wanna kill your marks. Kill nearest tie, which attacks convoy ships, while wingman should attack others. Avoid ties, which attack you until you finish off other other ties.

Never really had a problem with this one. The TIEs were pretty easy to take out. You CAN try a different strategy. Instead of going after the TIEs right away, go after the ATR that is control them. Killing it it pretty difficult (in an A-Wing), but if you fire a few missiles at it, it will run away. After it hypers out, half the Tie/E's stop working.

When playing that mission, i feel that if you return to the hanger fully loaded you lost to many cargo ships http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/wink.gif
