Has anyone tried using the Rhen Var map included in the 1.1 server patch? I'm hoping you can just copy it over to your directory and use it.

It's located in the server 1.1 patch. It's in the RHN directory.

tryed to load the map but error says MISSIONS/Rhen2.lvl not found ... i guess i cant find the missions directory and put it there and try to load the map again. i dont know how they coded their **** so... maybe we will know more, when the mod tools, weve been waiting for so long, will come out.

now that we have support for modded maps, has anyone tried grabbing BF1 maps?

Some one the LA forums did. He renamed a SWBF map and put it in SWBF2. The map loads and is playable, but everything is black (no textures).

BF1 maps don't work, if you put Rhen Var in a folder like Nab, and remove the NAB.lvl and rename the rhen var lvl to nab.lvl, when you go to play on naboo it will load Rhen Var, the only problem is is that all the textures are black.

so that means the entire level is black, or certain objects?

ground, sky, walls, that stuff is black, CPs and Bots, laser, those things are good

Yeh, i heard about that too, it can be done with all BFI maps even the custom one.

And on a modding note, im working with someone who hopefully will be able to get a Gree skin into game. so that should be good.

i tried this with several maps from lucasfiles, and none seemed to work. what do i need to do to make it work?

The maps carn't have any vehicles or creatures, only imp vs rebels or rep vs cis

If you want to know why maps with vehicles/creatures don't work, read the mod tool's documentation. It explains it in there (sorry, I forget the file name).

Now that the mod tools are out, don't worry about converting SWBF maps to SWBF2. Someone else will do it for you.
