Heya guys - I started work on a new midgar map (v3.0) recently and wanted to get your suggestions and stuff. ;)
These next few are shots of the OLD MAP (v2) but with the new skybox I made, to show how thge ehocobo ranch in the new map will work with the skybox ;)
Also, Inyri's workin on a new chocobo model - which looks great, but she may not be able to rig it, so if anyone can help with that, thatd be great. If not, Ill have to use the old one, or maybe If I ask LightNinja nicely he'll let me include his version ;)

Okay, here's the first chocobo ranch shots. Its the midgar skybox - I then made the skyportal for the ranch, and merged the skybox images from that with the midgar one, so basically, everything apart from the playable area is a skybox. In the last show, that chocobo is to scale. ;)

I dont know what the area behind the player was supossed to look like, as you never see it in FF7..so I just made some stuff up.

thanks :) that reminds me...if inyris chocobo doesnt work out, would you let me include yours with the map? (when its finished obviously) :D
thats between bridge and the hub room thing with the boxes and entrance to chocobo room e.t.c and thats like the iris from stargate. kudos to darth g for that :D

I dont think i have forces to skin it, thoug i'll try once i buy a wacom(which i don't know when), other than that i'd be glad but dont hope it soon, i have stopped it till i buy the wacom or till someone wants to skin it (though i want to try a skin once i have the wacom to try to make it look as near as possible as the FF ones, at least as far as i can with my amateur skills), because once the skin is done i can rig it, animate it and put it in-game in three or four evenings (finishing the model, which is not finished yet).

i know not many updates recently..... all the new shots ive got atm is some lighting updates of highwind and iris, as below. BUT, tomoz im gonna carry on with big storage room :D

just a few pics of the new battle square. it aint that different from v2, just a few design changes, new roof, things tweaked here and there e.t.c

I haven't really been following the progress of JA mods as of late, however I have to say Szico, this is really a tremendous piece of work. The lighting and terrain looks excellent.

well, i had a ton of trouble getting the skybox working for the highway, but i didn...eventually. Whilst I was making it I aded a chrome shader to the city and gave it some green illumination:)

Well, Szico said people were wondering how Sephiroth was coming along...
Just a few more tweaks, really - skinning and modeling wise...
..So - maybe by the end of the month, depending on how things, on my side of the world are going.

made the fog fade a bit further from player and.... its TEH END of teh highway! yes you can fall off and die ;)

hm guys, is there a way to get a fog to distancecull without using the worldspawn command? because the distancecull here is 12,000 but for the chocoboranch it needs to be about 25,000, is this poss?
ok did a lil bit more, darkness fog reduced further.

looking good. In the spirit of updates then... I scripted cars to go around the highway - you can ride on them and shoot people if you can keep your balance on them. The highway is now finished until I need to put all the areas together and link them.

no it doesnt, its just a map_object. I can animate it, but in this game it will work really really weird
