View Full Version : Iridorian Party member and more.....

OK, here's an idea I've concocted: I would like to be able to recruit the iridorian into my party from Manaan, but I would like a smooth dialog transition from one of my other NPC's. I've had a couple sub-ideas here, Jolee could stay on Manaan to save his old pal who's in prison (probably the easiest) or perhaps Zaalbar could request to stay on Manaan in order to 1) establish diplomatic relations Between Manaan and Kashyyk 2) Set up Kolto trading between Manaan and Kashyyk, maybe for Kashyyks various wildlife/surface vegitation (fitting with Zalbaar's foreshadowed destiny to one day lead Kashyyk)....... Now, heres the tricky part: it would be very cool to have the following items as part of this mod, 1)The Iridorian Brain Bucket (the helmet, I'm sure theres a better name idea) 2) Iridorian Slaughter Armour, which doesn't include the helmet 3) Iridorian Energy field belt, with properties of protective energy sheilding, but also causes the enemy energy damage on melee contact. 4) The Iridorian Battle Axe, upgradeable with melee upgrades. 5) any other cool ideas you want to add
OK the only problem I can think of is modelling the head for the Iridorian, and the voice, but he really doesn't have to talk, as long as he kills :O)
I've seen you guys' work and I know someone could do it, but I'm still at a level of trying repeatedly and unsuccessfully to make a working upcrystals.2da to combine every lightsaber I have (black, clear, enhanced, etc.) so it's not me.....yet Thanks everyone, give me a yea or nay on the idea, if you like it lets start a grass roots movement :twogun:

But Zalzabar was exiled from Kashyyk remember so the odds of him doing something like that is small. Mabye you can make a current party member the Iridonians puppet? Like t3 or someone

You cannot have puppets in KotOR - I believe only TSL has that functionality - unless you are prepared to spawn the guy in every module and have him follow him around with a heartbeat script or something.

Well, I'd say it's probably perfectly do-able -though I also have to admit I've never gone looking for what models and skeleton and what not the Iridorian uses and more importantly what animation sets are available to him. That can be a big stopping block in recruitable mods since without decent animations things look absolutely awful.

Your best bet would be to read through some tutorials, and to grab a few mods that others have done to recruit various NPCs to poke around and see what they had to do to make it work.

I haven't made one myself, but right off the top of my head I'd think you'd have to be fairly capable at properly editing GFF files (Uti's, 2da's come to mind right off), as well as dialogue editing, and probably at least some light scripting. I'd say those would be the bare minimum required knowledges you're going to need for a mod of that nature with any kind of quality in the end result. Again though, take what I have to say with at least a few grains of salt since I've never personally done a mod of this type.

OK, Bao Dur is Zabrak, and as I understand it, Iridorians are Zabrak, BOOM skeleton model :O)

ViperSkeele, I'm sorry no one has responded here but 'bump' posts are not allowed (Rule #4). This post was an obvious 'bump' as you deleted your last post to post this one, I'll leave it this time but no more ok?
