Mercenary Crew: Age of the empire:Chapter III:Rhea.

A weeks ago the crew of the Echo narrowly escaped the clutches
of lord vader, with the help of a jedi knight known as Riebe. After
departing their saviour, the crew travelled to Naboo.

However waiting them was two dreadnought-class ships and a large
amount of tie fighters.

Piolt entry 1..After dropping off the jedi near Alldereen, the crew didn't really know what to do. We were short on supplies and needed a job but we needed to stay under the imperial radar. It took us a few days to decide but we decided going to head to naboo. Not the smartest of all ideas because we when we exitted hyperspace two dreadnoughts and a few tie squadrons were waiting for us.

The Dreadnoughts were not that far away from Echo and the tie squadrons were hovering around the mercinary ship like misquitoes.

"Mercenary ship 'Echo'! Cut power to engines and prepared to be board or you shall be arrest be destroyed" Hailed the Dreadnought ship.

Jack looked at the captain and said "I reckon I could get us out of this mess alive but we may experience some slight terpolence.. and proberly an explosion. Or we could us let them board us and arrest us..again." Jack took in a deep breath "And they'll be able to follow us"

((OCC- The intro is a bit slim on information. We need to know thing's like why are we going to Naboo? aswell as a basic idea of the stories plot.))

((and use the discussion thread so this one isn't cluttered. -stingerhs))

Cloud was in the engine room keeping the shields up. "Sooner or later, these shields might go down." thought Cloud. It was always the same way. Old parts about to become broken parts unless Cloud was there to repair them. Before, he had bought some parts for the shield out of his share(since Nic won't get them himself), but he hadn't had time to install them. And ever since Cloud got them into trouble when Sephiroth, Cloud's enemy, got them arrested and staring at Darth Vader's masked face, Cloud didn't really do anything or talk to anyone but Ryshana. He felt she could teach him about fighting Sith. It would certainly help when taking on Sephiroth, who is now an apprentice of Darth Vader. Suddenly, the engine stopped. "Spawn of a Space Slug." said Cloud. He then used Force Speed to speed himself up and repair the engine in a few seconds. He earlier found out that he was force sensative in an earlier adventure(see MC: AotE: Old Friends and New Jobs for more details). Ever since then, Cloud was getting better at repiring things with the help of the Force. He then went back to work repairing the shields.

03-20-2006, 01:59 PM
Nic Looked at the sensors. "Being boarded once in a week is about my limit, Get us on the round away from the Imps" Nic said looking up at Jack "and if you could avoid the explosion, that would be nice."

03-20-2006, 03:36 PM
"Erm, whose idea was it to come to Naboo?" Beryl said, looking at Nic as she stood poised at the entrance to the bridge, dressed in her fighter pilot's gear and ready to dart back to the hanger if the situation required it. "This is your home world, right? Don't you have any 'favours' you can cash in with any of the locals? A diversion would be nice right about now."

She stared out the port window of the bridge at the Dreadnaughts. "And I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather die than be boarded again." She shivered. "Just thinking about that Lord Vader and his lackeys makes my blood feel like ice water. I don't think I'll ever feel warm again."

She heard the engines go down, but before she could say anything, they came back on line. She let out a shuddering sigh. "Just get us out of here, Jack."

03-20-2006, 04:27 PM
"This is your home world, right? Don't you have any 'favours' you can cash in with any of the locals? A diversion would be nice right about now."

"No, i don't no anyone here, not anymore anyway." Nic said continuing to look at the scanners.

Nic hadn't been to Naboo since he first left ten years ago just before the Empire was formed. It wasn't his idea to come here, he had spent his years as a Merc attempting to avoid Naboo, Nic had always told people it was because he didn't want to see his homeworld under imperial control, this was a lie. The real reason was far darker and Nic's personal seacret, no one else knew. Nic had tried to forget about it but he never could it kept coming into his mind, The memories had gotten stronger resently eversince the jedi came to his ship.

"Jana, Beyl get to battle positions." Nic said before he hit the intercom button. "Ryshanna it's time to earn your keep, I need you in the turret."

03-20-2006, 05:42 PM
"Ready if needed, Nic," Jana called from her turret. During the last week, she'd been very quiet, keeping mostly to her room unless needed. In fact, these were her first words of the day. She peered out, squinting at the dreadnaughts and muttered, "But I sure hope I'm not..."

03-21-2006, 01:58 PM
Oliver was sitting in his room. He had dreamed the same dream again. Of course - it woulden't stop. He didn't actually care anymore. He could always drink so much, that he would forget it. He took a new bottle from his box. A nice one from Dantooine. He took a big gulp. And he suddenly realised, that something was wrong. The taste was so wierd.

He falled from his chair with a big noise. He was unconscious.

03-21-2006, 06:16 PM
"Ready if needed, Nic," Jana called from her turret.

"What? She speaks?!" Beryl commented outloud on her comlink, as she headed for the Headhunter. "It's about damn time!"

Once inside and the hatch closed, she waited--waited for the hatch to open, waited for the Headhunter to drop, waited to feel the adrenaline surge that would come with the pleasure of seeing an Imperial TIE explode into nothingness from the touch of her finger.

"Drop me when ready, Jack," she said into her comm. Her eyes narrowed with determination. "I'm playing for keeps this time."

03-21-2006, 06:46 PM
"Ryshanna it's time to earn your keep, I need you in the turret."

Jumping up from her seat, Ryshana quickly ran to the turret and strapped in. Putting on a headset, she flipped a couple of switches to get everything charged up and ready to go. "All set if you need me, Captain," Ryshana stated over the intercom.

03-22-2006, 01:53 PM
"No can do phyco, if you go out thier you'll only ruin my escape plan because the captain doesn't like leaving people behind"Replied Jack

"Well jedi. Lets see how good you are on that turret! Open fire on all enemy tie fighters." As Jana and Ryshanna fired abon the tie squadron, Jack succesfully avoid the dreadnoughts fire for several minutes untill Jack was able to enter hyperspace.

After doing that, he looked on the computer screen to the left of him "For force sake! Don't these people ever quit. Bad news captain, one of the dreadnoughts is following us. Doesn't look like any ties is following us." Jack looked at Nick who wasnt really speaking "errm, this is the time were you give me an order.."

03-22-2006, 02:07 PM
"Dmn it, We're going to have to land this thing, Take us down to the swmpland. We should be able to use them in the forest." Nic ordered as he began to redirect power and hit the intercom buttom. "Cloud we need all power to manouvering thrusters."

03-22-2006, 03:20 PM
"Okay. This is going to be a trick move. It's not easy to turn around in hyperspace. But I can do it...just." With skill, he was able to get out of hyperspace and quickly turn around and reentered hyperspace, heading towards naboo.

The echo returned to naboo space "Looks like we caught them by sirprise. The most of the tie fighters have docked inside the Dreadnought, however, the ones that haven't are firing abon us.."

03-22-2006, 05:05 PM

"On it, Captain." Cloud. Those were the first words he said to him in a while. As Cloud tough, his hands moved fast to move power to thrusters.

Cloud got up and looked around. The shields were holding up fine, the engine was working fine, and life support systems were at 100%. He felt like there wasn't much to do when he used the Force to help him. He got out and looked into the bottom turret. There were scortch marks from a fire, a burnt seat, and a targeting computer that had malfunctioned. That turret made Cloud's face pale every time he seen it. It was the turret Aerith died in. And every time Cloud passed it, he turned very pale.

03-23-2006, 07:58 PM
Still sitting in the Headhunter, and still hopeful that Jack would drop out of hyperspace and drop her so she could get some TIE kills, Beryl sighed.

Since they had escaped Vader's Star Destroyer, Beryl had been feeling rather useless. There wasn’t much more she could do to enhance the Headhunter, and it was pretty useless when they were in hyperspace. Jana and Ryshana had the turrets covered, and everyone else seemed to have a useful purpose on board. Even Cloud didn't need Beryl’s help with anything anymore, not with his new found affinity with the 'Force'.

She snorted bitterly at the thought. 'The Force.' She didn't want to believe in it, but seeing Cloud's enhanced speed and skills firsthand, made it hard for her to deny its existence. As a young child, she had been earmarked as a 'Force Sensitive'—something that she, and her father, had always tried to deny. But Vader words to her on the Star Destroyer had made it chillingly clear that she couldn’t hide her affliction from him. Being a Force Sensitive these days was dangerous enough without attention from the Emperor’s right hand man, and with three Force Sensitives now on board, it wasn’t surprising that the Empire had taken such a sudden interest in the Echo.

She flexed her hands. Her frustration was building, and she needed an outlet before she ended up doing some serious damage to something.

"Aw, c'mon, Jack!" she complained indignantly into the comm. "Come out of hyperspace and drop me already! I need some action!"

03-23-2006, 09:35 PM
Cloud didn't want to look at the turret any longer. He looked away and walked around the ship. He had been with it a long time, but yet he always felt like he was somewhere new when he walked around the Echo. "I guess I've been lost." thought Cloud. He always did feel like something was missing since Aerith died. He thought of home on Aldeeran. It was nice to think of home. The fields that never seem to end, the houses of his old friends, and the beaches where he use to swim. He missed it. But, he loves space. Cloud then focused around him and realized that he wasn't home. He was on the Echo. Cloud realized that nothing would go back to the way they used to be. "Nothing is the same for me anymore." Cloud said to himself. He then walked to the engine room and watched to see if anything was going to malfunction.

03-25-2006, 04:02 AM
"Okay Beryl, but we're going to have meet up on the planet. I can't stop the ship to pick you up" Jack released the Headhunter and then dived the Echo towards Naboo "Everyone hold on to something. This is going to be a bumbt ride."

03-25-2006, 01:16 PM
As the Headhunter dropped from the Echo, Beryl finally had a way to release her frustrations. She hung back a bit, watching until she saw the flare from the Echo's belly that signalled that it was entering the first layers of atmosphere.

The TIEs were approaching fast, paying little attention to her, their focus obviously on the larger Echo. That soon changed.

Not even bothering with the targeting computer, Beryl's eyes narrowed with deep concentration. Up until now, shooting down TIEs had been mostly fun and games to her. This time, Beryl was all business. In the short time it took the TIE squadron leader to realise that she was a serious threat, three of his twelve ships had been blown into oblivion and she was shooting at a fourth. But, fun and games aside, she still had time for some thrills.

As the leader swung his squadron around to face her, she accelerated, heading straight at the leader in what appeared to be a suicide run. She easily took out number four and five before forcing the leader and the rest of his pals to veer off or collide head on with her. But Beryl never even flinched.

She had done that same move several times in combat trials when she was a test pilot, which is how she had earned the nickname 'Psycho'. But she herself didn't see it as a risky move. Somehow she always knew which way and when the opposing pilots would move.

With the TIEs now going in different directions, she looped looped below them, targeting the ones closest to the Echo first. She dispatched number six and seven in short order. Number eight thought he would out-manoeuvre her by taking a quick dive and a roll to the left. He was severely mistaken, as she anticipated where he would be before he probably knew himself.

With only four TIEs left, she went after the leader next. He was a bit more challenging, obviously having more flight experience than the others. But she was neither a kid just out of flight school nor a rogue pirate or smuggler. She stuck on him like glue, and even with his quick moves, he couldn't shake her.

A flash of red passed by her. Obviously he had called for assistance, for Beryl soon realised she now had two TIEs on her tail. She rolled the ship suddenly left, then suddenly right, wagging the wings to narrowly avoid the enemy fire from behind.

An alarm began to sound. One of the TIEs behind her had locked on. In less time than it took to press a fire button, she reversed thrusters, and the two ships sped past her. The two TIEs that had been her pursuers were now her prey. A quick array of blaster fire soon made them regret their mistake in following her too closely.

She circled back to find the leader. He was alone now. His last remaining ship had ditched the battle and was heading for the safety of the Dreadnaught. Again she pursued him, matching him move for move until she was in weapons range.

"Die," she said, as she depressed the fire button. One shot to the ion engine and it exploded, sending the TIE spinning out of control. Caught in the gravity of the planet, there was little the TIE could do but plummet towards the outer layers of atmosphere. She followed, diving at him, and with one quick blast, put him out of his misery.

She skimmed the atmosphere, pulling up just as an alarm told her the outside temperature had increased to dangerous levels due to her angle of approach. She checked her scanners. No TIEs in pursuit, but no Echo either.

"Crap." She flicked a few switches, and began searching not for the Echo's signature, but for its ion trail that led down to Naboo's surface.

03-25-2006, 03:46 PM
Nic strapped in to his seat and continued to look at the sensors, he switched off add ID and activated the Jamming system. Nic felt the ship shudder as they hit the atmosphere, Nic switched the atmospheric shields to prevent the hull from over heating.

"Get us out of this alive jack, and i'll bye you a drink." Nic said as if Jack actually needed an insentive for not burning up the ship.

03-25-2006, 04:44 PM
The echo kept diving towards the planet, the ground get closer and closer. After a minute or so of falling, the ship was at the point were, if the ship would fall for a few seconds more, the Echo would collide with the ground. But before that could happen Jack caused the ship to hault in mid air. As he did so the whole ship shook violently for a few seconds.

"You owe me a drink, captain" Said Jack as he got the ship into a better poistion for moving "You wanna land in the swamp or the nearby city?"

03-25-2006, 04:49 PM
Nic had only just straitened himself up after the violent shaking and turned to Jack. "Land just outside the capital, In the forest. they won't think to look there, too obvious."

03-25-2006, 05:13 PM
"My brain got knocked up to the cockpit there," Jana called dryly. "Someone want to return it to me?"

She came out of the turret and headed up to the cockpit. "Never mind, I'll retrieve it myself," she said, coming in. "Nice shakeup there, Jack. Warn us next time, could you?"

03-25-2006, 05:27 PM
"Wheres the fun in that."Jack replied as he moved the ship towards the forrest.

"By the way, mind getting to the bottem turret and blast us a land spot in the forrest below?"

03-25-2006, 05:34 PM
Jana smiled slightly and did as requested. Then, she came back to the cockpit. "There you are, Mr. Goren. A fresh landing pad for you."

03-25-2006, 06:51 PM
Beryl followed the ion trail as far as she was able to, then it began to dissipate as it drew close to the main city of Theed and mingled with other ion trails from other cargo ships.

"Damn it," Beryl complained outloud to herself. "Where'd they go?"

As it was unlikely they had decided to land in the city itself, she began to scan the nearby swamps and forests. Nothing. Jack or Nic had most likely decided it was best to send out a jamming signal to disrupt any potential Imperial scans. Smart move, but it made them nearly invisible. But they had to be somewhere near by. She could feel...

"Stop it!" she said to herself. "There is no such thing as the Force! You can't feel them. It's just intuition and common sense." She let out a deep breath. "Intuition and common sense," she repeated trying to reinforce her belief as she skimmed closer to the surface.

Then she saw them. A small glimmer of metal in the middle of a stand of thick trees. She closed her eyes, and shook her head slowly. "Okay," she said to no one. "So I found them without much bother. But it's not the Force. It's luck."

She manoeuvered the Headhunter to land a few hundred metres west of the Echo in a small natural clearing.

03-26-2006, 01:59 PM
Nic checked the sensors and saw Beryl land the headhunter west of their position, Nic knew someone would have to get her as the forest would be pretty dangerous. Unfortuitly the Echo was low on fuel and Nic knew he didn't have any Supplies onboard, Nic looked over at Jana.
"we need to split up, I'll take Ryshanna to go get our lost pilot. You lead the rest into thread get and some fuel and supplies."

((if this is o.k with Steven.))

03-26-2006, 02:44 PM
Beryl opened up the hatch, then climbed out to have a look around. It was hard to see much except the trees that surrounded the clearing. She checked around the ship, looking for any type of damage.

"Looks good," she said to herself. "Now to hide you." She looked around. She didn't have any way to cloak her ship, but she could camoflague it using some of the abundant vegetation.

She climbed back up to the cockpit and recorded a message. "I'm going to look for vegetation to camoflague the ship. Then I'm coming to find you. I think you're only just under a kilometer away, so it shouldn't take long." She closed the hatch, then locked it (though anyone from the Echo would know that the security code was 768.)

At the edge of the clearing, she gathered some of the branches that had been broken off when she landed her ship, and hastily hoisted them across the top of her ship. It wasn't perfect, but anyone looking down from the air would have a hard time spotting it amongst the trees.

She brushed off her hands and started to head east through the trees. Just a few metres into the forest though, the hair on the back of her neck began to rise. She stopped, listening for any out of place sounds.

A branch snapped, and she turned to the left to see...

"Oh, frack!" she said in a hushed voice, as she slowly began to back away from the biggest, toothiest, Nabooan Tusk-Cat she had ever seen. She reached down where her blaster should be. "Double frack!" she whispered again. She had left it on the Echo. She grinned nervously as the beast growled, and her eyes darted around for something to use as a weapon, or failing that, a tree that she could climb. "Nice kitty..."

03-26-2006, 02:45 PM
"I looked at the scanners. The dreadnoughts seems to be waiting in space and scanning for us. I wouldn't be sirprised if they had men in the city looked for us. I could stay here and think of an escape plan. But it's up to you captain"Suggested Jack

03-26-2006, 04:25 PM
Jana looked around for a moment. "Well, I'm not terribly interested in sitting around," she said, snapping just a little more than she intended to. "Come on, Cloud. Let's head into Theed." She turned to go, but paused and glanced at Jack for a moment. Then, she nodded and headed off into the jungle toward the city.

03-26-2006, 04:36 PM
A black bird hopped around on the forest floor, pecking at the ground as it looked for something to eat. Suddenly, it stopped. Cocking its head to one side, then the other, it reached out with its beak and began to peck at the raw edges of a small scrap of black fabric. It lifted it, peering underneath to see if it hid perhaps a small beetle or other tasty crawly bug. But it hadn’t been on the forest floor long enough to become a hiding spot for any insects yet.

The bird continued in its search, hopping in and out of the large feline tracks in the soft ground of the forest floor and still other depressions in the ground, these patterned as they were made by the sole of a boot. It moved cautiously, pecking and hopping, cocking its head and looking and listening for any sounds of danger while it searched for food.

Something caught its eye. A spot of bright red on a leaf. Thinking it might be a type of beetle, it pecked quickly at it, but the spot was liquid, not solid and the bird lost interest.

Further into the brush, it crossed over two parallel tracks dug into the dirt. Whatever had been dragged this way had cleared away the forest’s leaves, exposing some tasty ground crawlies which the bird gobbled up quickly.

Then there was a sudden rustle of leaves. Sensing danger, the bird spirited away.

It skimmed through the treetops, following the tracks until they crossed a path in the forest. The path was used by the herd drivers of the plains as they drove their animals into the bustling city of Theed, and it was always filled with potential meals for a hungry bird.

Something shiny on the path caught its eye. It dove towards it, landing close to the round medallion lying in the soft dirt. The bird picked at the dark string attached to it, thinking it might be a tasty and unfortunate worm.

Footsteps heralded the arrival of a potential predator. The bird took flight, finding refuge on a nearby tree branch, where it squawked and shouted at the creatures that had interrupted its foraging.

03-26-2006, 08:44 PM
((hmm, i take it something bad happened to Beryl. should Ryshana notice, or are you planning something else???))

As Ryshana watched Jana leave, she finished attaching her lightsaber to her belt. "Come on, lets go get our pilot, Captain," Ryshana told Nic with a slight smile.

03-27-2006, 01:58 AM
((Ryshana can notice if you want her to. Safe to say, nothing is planned, Beryl is not severely injured, nor is she dead. She just is...missing, for the moment. There are clues that either party can find to tell them that something's happened to her, but exactly what will largely depend on the responses from you and the other players.))

03-27-2006, 02:18 AM
Jana walked in silence toward the city of Theed. She felt rather irritable at the moment and it bothered her that she couldn't quite pinpoint why. Therefore, she had decided it was better to avoid speaking than to snap at Cloud.

It only added to her mood when a bird began screeching at her. Annoyed, she swore at it in Corellian, turning to glare. It flew away further, satisfying Jana... until her foot caught on a branch hidden beneath dead leaves. Swearing again, she rolled over, preparing to get up. Then, something caught her eye.

"TCTA..." she murmured, crawling over and plucking a medallion from the forest floor. Suddenly, she was angry. "Oh, Beryl," she grumbled, "What have you gotten yourself into?"

She turned to Cloud. "You go on ahead into Theed. Get some supplies and get back to the Echo. Beryl's not at the Headhunter and I'm going to look for her. If I'm not back to the ship by the time you get back, let them know I'm hunting for her, ok?"

Without waiting for an answer, she slipped away into the jungle, following the few signs she saw... the scraped ground, indicating something was dragged, bits of cloth. Soon, she was out of Cloud's sight.

03-27-2006, 06:47 AM
Nic though the Betsy over his shoulder and began to walk out of the ship. "we're heading west." He told Ryshanna without stopping. Nic and Ryshana began to walk through the forest.

As they walked Nic's mind kept wondering about differant thing, His mind started with the resent Events involving Vader and Reibe. Reibe, the Jedi who killed him and saved his life, the women who told him to protect Jana. It became perfectly apparant that Reibe Tested Nic all those years ago to protect her Desendant. The past week Nic stayed out of Jana's way, Nic knew that if Jana was a desendant of a Jedi she would probably be force sensitive, Just what the crew needed another force sensitive. He knew they had A few now Ryshana, the resently discovered Cloud, Jana and of course Beryl. Although Nic was unsure if Beryl knew she was sensitive but he did, It didn't take long for him to work it out, she was a superb pilot but she was too good for her not to have some assistance from the force. Nic never confronted her about, it wasn't his place. Nic looked back at ryshanna while still walking.

03-27-2006, 10:46 AM
Oliver was still laying in his room. He was awaken agian - but he coulden't stand up. He saw double, and he could feel a great pain in his liver. He tried to stand up, but he was too dizzy to control himself. "Help....me" he shouted, but there wasen't an answer. Only a deep silence. He could remember the silence, and it scared him. He tried to get a communicator (OOC: I suppose we have a thing like that?), and tried to reach Nic. But suddenly he coudn't speak - and when he got contact to Nic, he was beginning to die on the floor. He was tottaly alone.

(Well - Oliver is posioned by one of his drinks. A deadly poison poison I'm gonna follow it up, when i'm heading the RP :) )

03-27-2006, 12:14 PM
As they walked along throught the forest, Ryshana remembered back to her meditations, more specifically the meditations about Nic. It was a bit disturbing, especially the meditation that had labeled him as a murderer, but she wondered if now would be a good time to ask him about it. It probably wouldn't be a good time. I think a bit more in depth meditation on the matter would reveal more, Ryshana thought to herself.

Suddenly, Ryshana suddenly got the feeling that something wasn't quite right with Beryl. It was a bit strange since she hadn't really been thinking about her for the past couple of moments.

Finally, they came into a bit of a clearing where the Headhunter was. "Looks like she tried to hide it," Ryshana observed out loud as she noticed the branches and limbs hastily thrown on top of the Headhunter. "That is a bit odd, though. She's not here," Ryshana stated.

03-27-2006, 02:03 PM
Nic looked around the ared and saw some foot-prints, They where standard pilot's boots, the kind Beryl wore. "It look's like she was heading back toward's the ship, But her direction is off by a few degrees, we probably walked right past her and didn't notice." Nic looked around and tried to remember what was in the direction Beryl had taken. "Oh Beryl, Not that way."

03-27-2006, 03:25 PM
Looking somewhat oddly over at Nic, Ryshana asked, "Is something wrong with her going in that direction??"

03-27-2006, 03:29 PM
((Along the way, you guys should also notice Jana's footprints, as she also headed after Beryl.))

03-27-2006, 03:31 PM
"Tusk cat Hunting grounds. She may still be fine, If she's lucky she came across a Female who will take her back to it's cave for the cubs to feast off of." Nic says still examinig the ground, he turns back to Ryshanna who is obviouly wondering why It's a good thing. "They like to feed their young live food. Let's go we still may have time."

03-27-2006, 05:08 PM
Jana plunged through the bushes into a small clearing. Two tusk cats were fighting over a piece of meat there.

"Not Beryl," Jana observed quietly. The cats stopped and stared at her and she backed away slightly. "Definitely not Beryl."

She was glad for her weapons. She didn't wait for the cats to attack. With her blaster, she shot and injured one. The other lunged and Jana barely managed to get her knife out before it was on top of her. With a loud yell, she drove the knife through the cat's throat. It struggled for a moment before collapsing and rolling off.

Jana lay there for a moment, asessing her condition. Her sleeves and pant legs were a bit torn, but she decided she was fine other than the scrape on her left arm. She ripped some of her shirt and wrapped the injury. She'd deal with it later.

The injured cat was nowhere in sight, so Jana gathered her weapons and went on.

03-27-2006, 07:19 PM
"You go on ahead into Theed. Get some supplies and get back to the Echo. Beryl's not at the Headhunter and I'm going to look for her. If I'm not back to the ship by the time you get back, let them know I'm hunting for her, ok?"

"But..." Cloud said before Jana disappeared into the forest. He was going to tell her that he didn't have any credits and that he spent his own new ship parts since Nic doesn't pay for them himself and that Nic forgot to pay him this morning. Cloud sighed. He continued walking through the forest when he seen a Gungan. It was walking around looking for food. Cloud noticed that a kaadu was with him. He decided to communicate in their language. "Ex squeezee me." called Cloud. The Gungan turned toward Cloud. "Heyo dalee!" said the Gungan back to him. "What can mesa be doin for yu?" "Mesa... er... looking for... uh... Theed." Cloud said in a bad accent. He wasn't very good at speaking Gunganese. "Hmmm..." thought the Gungan. "How bout mesa takin yu to Theed? It be hard walkin in stickgooshy." "Er... Okeeday." Cloud said. They both hopped on the kaadu and rode off towards Theed.

Looking at the ground a bit closer, Ryshana noticed that one of Beryl's prints had been stepped on by another print. "Just a second, Nic. There's another set of prints here," Ryshana stated as she pointed out the different print. Moving her eyes along the direction of the print, there was another print. "This set of tracks appears to be following Beryl and whatever that cat is you referred to."

Suddenly, the distinctive sound of a blaster going off was heard through the branches of the trees followed by a bit of distant commotion. Without waiting for Nic, Ryshana very quickly ran towards the commotion.

03-29-2006, 01:51 PM
Nic watched ryshanna charge past him quickly. "Ryshanna Wait!"

Nic then grabbed betsy and armed it. "What is it with women and running strait towards danger."

Nic then ran after Ryshanna.

03-29-2006, 02:26 PM
Ryshana quickly ran into a small clearing and was about to activate her lightsaber and attack, but there was nobody in the clearing. Just a dead cat, Ryshana thought. Leaning down, she could still feel a bit of the Force within the animal which meant that it had been killed within the last couple minutes. Looking towards the ground, Ryshana saw the same set of tracks heading furthing into the jungle.

Placing the lightsaber back onto her belt, Ryshana stood up and waited for Nic.

03-29-2006, 02:31 PM
Nic ran through the forest until he reached a Clearing where Ryshanna was, Nic Stopped near the edge and leant over resting his hands on his knees. He began breathing heavily as the sprint wore himout as he tried to keep up with the jedi.

"Why... do... you... have... to... run... so...fast?" Nic said as he stood up strait almost breathing normally.

03-29-2006, 02:57 PM
Ryshana tried to hold back a smile at Nic's comment. "Aww, come on. Its not that difficult," Ryshana joked. "Come on, the tracks lead this way," Ryshana stated while nodding in the direction of the tracks. "And we're close. However killed this thing did so within the past couple minutes. So, let's get moving."

With that, Ryshana walked off slowly and followed the tracks.

03-30-2006, 06:37 AM
Nic Followed Ryshana keping all his sences open incase a tusk cat decided to try her luck, They weren't fussy about who hey attacked. Nic Looked at Ryshana, the past week there was somthing strange about the way she acted arround him and looked at him. He didn't really know why it was strange, it may just be her way, afterall he had only known her a week now.

Nic had checked all entries on this Twi'lek and discovered a great deal of things, she was a slave but had quickly found a home with a jedi. as she was a jedi she became a general in the clone wars and managed to make a commando squad turn against the empire, but that was about all he could discover about her.

Nic just continued walking letting these thoughts play in his mind.

03-30-2006, 10:54 PM
Beryl awoke to realise she was lying face down on the ground, but her instincts told her not to move or open her eyes just yet. Her head was throbbing, her ribs ached, and her neck was stiff. The last thing she remembered was having a Tusk Cat leap at her and knock her to the ground. The musky smell of the beast still hung strongly in the air, and so she knew she wasn’t out of danger just yet.

She listened for a moment, hearing snuffles and low purring growls nearby, so very slowly, she cracked open one eye. Wherever she was, the light was brighter to the left of her than to the right. A cave, she guessed. Something white caught her eyes. As she tried to focus on it, she realised it was a bone. A very large bone.

Something roughly pawed at her thigh, and Beryl tried hard not to flinch or wince. She stilled her breathing, playing dead for the moment while she gathered her senses. A loud snuffling noise crept towards her head. She was being sniffed. The bone wasn’t too far away. If she was quick enough, she just might be able to grab it and whack the creature in a sensitive area, distracting it long enough for her to get away.

Another paw and a nudge, this time, seeming more urgent. A low growl began to rumble up from the Tusk Cat. It was now or never, Beryl thought.

She snatched the bone in her hand and struck out behind her, hoping to hit the sensitive nose or eyes of the beast that was obviously intent on having her for lunch. The creature roared in pain, and without a backwards glance, she scrambled to her feet and headed for the light of the entrance.

Something caught her foot, and she hit the ground, rolling like she had been trained to come to rest on her back.

The Tusk Cat’s claws were embedded in her left boot. The animal bared its teeth and let out a thundering roar that echoed off the cave walls. Aiming for its head, she kicked the animal as hard as she could. It yelped, releasing its grip long enough on her half shredded boot for her to pull her foot out of it.

She scrambled backwards, noticing that the Tusk Cat had younglings that were approaching her. "I’m a training tool?” she thought, as she managed to stand.

The angry mother Tusk Cat lunged at her again, this time sinking her claws into Beryl’s flight jacket. A quick and violent tussle ensued, but Beryl managed to slip out of the jacket, leaving the cat to chew on leather instead of her.

Then she ran. She could sense the cat hadn’t given up and was pursuing her, and she looked over her shoulder.

Suddenly, she heard the sound of a swoop bike and before she knew it, she felt something grasp her arm, followed by the intense pain of her shoulder popping out of its joint, and she was lifted from the ground, hurling though the air, leaving the roaring Tusk cat and its kittens behind her.

03-30-2006, 11:51 PM
Jana's ears caught the sounds of a swoop bike nearby and she rushed forward, hoping to ask the rider about Beryl. She stopped abruptly when she realized the rider was a Stormtrooper... and that a mother Tusk Cat and her children were staring hungrily at Jana.

"Sorry, babes," she murmured, wasting no time and shooting the mother. Crying, the kittens crawled around their dead mother, trying to understand what just happened as Jana hurried past. As she did so, one of the kittens got over its confusion enough to latch on to her leg. With a cry of pain, she stumbled and fell. The kitten gave a little yelp as she fell on it, but quickly righted itself and pounced.

"I don't think so, little cat," Jana growled, bashing her blaster against its head. It yelped and leapt back, giving Jana the time she needed to scramble to her feet. Her left hand gripped at something and it came away from the ground with her, but she didn't pay much attention to it. Eyeing the kittens incredulously, she fired a few shots around the area, sending them crying back into their cave. Then, she limped away as quickly as she could.

Only then did she realize she was holding a shredded boot... one that belonged to Beryl Quitaan.

((Perfect place for Nic and Ryshana to run into her, eh? Bite marks on her leg, torn shirt, hair all over, and almost more importantly, holding Beryl's shredded boot. ;) ))

03-31-2006, 12:00 AM
Ryshana had heard the swoop bike along with the ensuing tussle. Not bothering to wait for Nic, again, Ryshana ran forwards until she entered a clearing. Activating her lightsaber, Ryshana was about to swing downwards on the struggling human until she noticed..

"Jana!?! What's going on??" Ryshana asked quickly. Noticing the torn boot, Ryshana recognized it to be Beryl's. Sensing that Jana had meant no harm to Beryl, Ryshana calmed down. "Where's Beryl?"

03-31-2006, 12:44 AM
"Gone," Jana answered, annoyed. "Tusk cats took her in that cave, I think. Then, she got picked up by some swoop bike. Mother cat's dead. Kittens are in the cave."

She sighed. "And the rider of the swoop bike was definitely a Stormtrooper."

03-31-2006, 06:18 AM
"That's not good." Nic said running up behind Ryshanna. He looked over at Jana "Are you alright to keep going?"

03-31-2006, 08:38 AM
The kaadu was swift, for Cloud arrived at Theed in almost no time at all. "Tank yu." Cloud said. "Yousa welcome." replied the Gungan before disappearing into the forest. When Cloud turned around, he did not like what he saw. Imperial banners hanging around on poles, Imperial stormtroopers patroling around the area, and other things. Cloud had thought they could never do it. But they did. The Empire had taken Theed. Cloud looked around. He seenImperial recuiting posters. He had also seen a Rebel Alliance poster being torn down by Imperials. He also seen some space pirates discussing their 'catch'. "This place has gone to ruins." thought Cloud. Cloud decided to go to the Palace. He was expecting to see Queen Apailana to see if he could find his father, Finnias Strife. When he was able to see the Queen, he didn't see Apailana. He seen Kylantha, her sucessor. "Let's see. Finnias Strife." she started. "Oh yes. He is MIA(missing in action)." "You mean..." started Cloud. "He may be dead or alive?"

03-31-2006, 11:06 AM
Jana winced. "Leg's a bit stiff, but I can manage..." Then, she shook her head. "But no, I'd attract too much attention... limping into Theed like this. I'll turn back."

Though it had been her own idea, she was clearly upset at the thought of going back to the ship.

03-31-2006, 11:24 AM
"O.k, Me and Ry will go into town see if we can find Cloud and Beryl." Nic Looked over at his jedi crewman. "I hope those jedi sences are tuned as we'll need them."

03-31-2006, 12:31 PM
"Not a problem, Captain," Ryshana replied. "Just give me a minute to make my lightsaber a bit less obvious."

Pulling out a metal contraption, Ryshana fussed with it a bit as she placed it around her right upper leg. Then, she placed the lightsaber into a special slot that made the whole contraption resemble a mechanical leg brace. "There we go. If we meet anybody in Theed and they ask about my leg, we'll just call it an 'old back injury' and be done with it. Anyways, I think its your turn to lead the way."

03-31-2006, 01:13 PM
Beryl estimated that she travelled through the jungle nearly two kilometres hoisted in the air by her arm before being dropped in a clearing. Again, recalling her combat training, she automatically rolled out of the fall when she hit the ground. Shaking from adrenaline, she quickly scrambled to her feet, and staggered backwards in the tall grass away from the approaching swoop bike. And the stormtrooper who was riding it.

“Think I preferred the cats,” she thought to herself.

“Halt!” the stormtrooper said, as he parked the bike and dismounted. He didn’t raise his weapon, but he didn’t have to. Unarmed and with a dislocated shoulder, he didn’t see Beryl as much of a threat.

But Beryl, being Beryl, decided to run while she had the chance. Of course, wearing only one boot, and with her bare foot scratched from the claws of the cat, she didn’t get very far before the Stormtrooper caught up to her.

“Get your hands off me, you kriffin Buckethead!” Beryl said, struggling to free her good arm from his grasp.

“Hey! Take it easy!”

Beryl was doing no such thing. She kicked at him with her booted foot, aiming for his crotch. But the Stormtrooper avoided her attempt, instead moving in closer, wrenching her arm behind her back and shoving her to the ground in submission. “Droyk!” she uttered in pain.

“You just don’t give up, do you?” he said, almost jokingly, as he pushed his knee into the small of her back to stop her squirming. “Look, I’m just trying to help you…”

“An Imp? Help? When Jawas swim!” Beryl hissed through clenched teeth. “I don’t want your help! Let me go!”

“Okay. Fine. Be that way.” The Stormtrooper released his hold on her. “You can reset your own shoulder.” He snorted and backed away. “Last time I try and do a good deed,” he muttered. “Ungrateful, skraggin slave…”

“I’m not a slave!” Beryl said defiantly, as she rolled over and sat up. The pain from her shoulder was almost nauseating, but she still wasn’t about to accept his help.

“No? Well, you sure look like one half-dressed the way you are.” He stared at her for a moment, then to Beryl’s surprise, he took off his helmet.

He was handsome, there was no doubt about that. Short, thick sandy brown hair, soft green eyes, and chiselled features, and when he smiled, his cheeks dimpled. “There,” he said in a calm even tone as he knelt down to her level. “You don’t have to be afraid. See? No more ‘Buckethead.’”

“I’m not afraid of you,” she snapped. “I just don’t like Imps.”

His dimples got deeper. “No? Well, I like a good challenge.” He eyed her over. “Look, that shoulder of yours has got to hurt.” He looked around. “And it’s not likely anyone else is going to come around and…say, how did you find yourself all alone out here anyway?”

“I was… taking a walk,” she lied. “What are you doing out here? Joyriding?”

“Looking for a cargo ship that supposedly landed in this sector.” He gave her a dubious look. “You, erm, didn’t happen to see one on your ‘walk’, did you?”

“No,” she answered a bit too quickly.

He snorted, then grinned wryly. “Didn’t think so. Now, are you going to let me set that shoulder? Or am I going to have to stun you first?”

Beryl let out a defeatist sigh. “Fine. Set it.”

He rose and approached her. Kneeling behind her, he gently took up her arm in his gloved hands. “This is going to hurt,” he said, “but you’ll feel better after. Ready? On three. One… two….” He jerked her arm down, rotating it in at the same time.

Beryl was speechless with pain for a moment, then as the shoulder popped into place, the pain suddenly subsided, leaving only a throbbing ache. “What happened to three?” she croaked.

“Oh, sorry, forgot. You know us Bucketheads. Stupid and inconsiderate as the day is long, right?”

He helped her rise, taking care to make sure that her arm was kept tight into her body. He guided her to his bike, where he took out a first aid kit. “So, you got a name?”

He snorted with amusement as he removed a bacta spray from the kit. “Ok, I’ll go first. I’m Sergeant Penniluck Dukkette. Penni for short. You?”

“B…” Beryl cut herself short, nearly forgetting herself from the intense pain. But she couldn’t for the life of her remember the name that was on her fake I.D.

“Buh?” Penni grinned, as he began treating some of her visible cuts and scratches with the spray. “That’s a short name. What, your parents couldn’t afford a whole name for you?” he joked.

“Beryl,” she said defiantly.

“Beryl.” He nodded. “Suits you. So, just Beryl? No second name? In my experience, Corellians always have a second name.” As Beryl opened her mouth, obviously surprised that he knew her planet of origin, he added, “’Droyk’ is peculiar term to Corellians, is it not?”

Her jaw set. “I suppose,” she said quietly. “So, what's your story? You seem different from the average Buckethead.”

“What, did you think that all Imperial soldiers were ignorant chuba faced clonies?” he asked, as he applied a dressing to one of the larger scratches on her arm.

“You said it, not me,” Beryl replied.

“So you think I should have just watched you get ripped apart by the cat for its obvious entertainment value, rather than to rescue your ungrateful carcass and miss all this verbal abuse?”

“Okay, okay,” Beryl unwillingly conceded. “I’m grateful. Thank you.”

Penni smiled. “You're welcome. Now, turn around and bend over.”

Beryl stared at him incredulously. “Hey, I’m not that grateful!”

Penni sighed. “If you want me to put a dressing on those cuts on your thigh, then turn around and bend over. Otherwise, it’ll be a sore ride for you to Theed.”

“Theed? I can’t go to Theed! I have to…erm….” What she wanted to say was that she needed to find the Echo. But since she had already told him she hadn’t seen it….

“Have to what?” He shook his head. “Nevermind. I don’t think I want to know. Now are you bending over or what?”

Reluctantly, Beryl complied, although she kept a close eye on what he was doing.

“These scratches are really wide,” he said, as he gently lifted the few shreds of fabric and sprayed them with the healing bacta. “Big cat. You were real lucky I found you when I did, Beryl.” He paused and gave her a curious but suspicious look, before applying the dressing. “Jedi are real lucky. You’re not a Jedi, are you?”

“You been chewing lena weed or something?” she countered. “Do I look like a Jedi?”

“Suppose not.” He got out a large bandage from his kit, then shut it. “Lift up your good arm.” He began to wrap the bandage around her torso to keep her injured arm close to her body. “You know, it was rumoured that a Jedi was on that cargo ship,” he pressed her.

“You mean the ship I haven’t seen?” She frowned at him. “You believe everything they tell you?”

“No. Not everything.” He secured the bandage. “There. That will keep your arm still, and you a bit more decent.” He looked at her shredded pants. “Although, we’ll still need to get you some clothes when we get to Theed. They do have decency laws, you know.”

He put his helmet back on, and stood there, waiting. “So do you want a leg up, or can you manage getting on the bike on your own?”

Beryl hesitated, and looked towards the woods from where they had come from. She didn’t want to go to Theed, especially with a Stormtrooper, no matter how ‘friendly’ he appeared. “I’m fine really,” she said, backing away from him.

“Get on.” His voice sounded more commanding, but whether that was because he was wearing his helmet or not, Beryl couldn’t tell. Still, she didn’t sense that he truly meant her any harm.

“Look, Beryl, I really don’t want to have to stun you,” he said, taking out his blaster. “Now, get on.” He waved it at her.

On second thought...

"Alright, alright. I'm getting on."

Penni climbed up behind her, and in a moment, they were speeding off to Theed.

03-31-2006, 04:36 PM
Nic And ryshanna walked into threed, On the way to the city Nic placed some dark glasses over his eyes. To anyone looking at him it would seem he was just trying to keep the sunlight out of his eyes, the real reason was he was trying to minimise the chances of any one recognising him.

They found themselves near the imperial garrison inside the grand city, Nic turned to Ryshanna. "If we're going to get in there, we're going to need Cloud."

03-31-2006, 06:47 PM
With only a few leering looks from other soldiers, Sgt. Dukkette had managed to sneak Beryl into his dormitory room in the Imperial garrison. While Beryl used the refresher to clean herself up, Penni found her some decent clothes to replace her shredded ones. She wasn’t very pleased with his efforts.

“You call this decent clothing?” Beryl said to Penni. She held up the green dress he had given her, then shoved it back to him. “You can practically see right through it!”

Penni chuckled. “It will look different when you put it on,” he said, shoving it back to her. “Besides, beggars can’t be choosers. I borrowed that from next door. It belonged to a … well, it was left by a… erm…”

Beryl held up her hand. “Don’t even say it,” she warned, giving him a dirty look. “I get the picture.” She shoved the dress back to him. “What’s wrong with getting me a pair of trousers and a tank-shirt?”

“'Cause those are mens’ clothes,” Penni said to her. He eyed her over appreciatively. “And this is Theed. Fashion counts here, you know.” He shoved the dress back to her again.

“This,” she held up the dress in his face, “is hardly what I would call fashion.”

“Oh, just put it on,” he said irritably. “Trust me. You’ll look… nice.”

“Nice? I’ll look like a....” She paused, then sighed. “Look, I just don’t want to be that noticeable, okay?” she said, starting to get flustered. “I like being…plain and… unnoticed.”

Penni laughed. “Well, the dress is all I have to offer. But, you’ll be less noticeable in that, than in what you have on. Plus, it won’t chafe your wounds,” he added, with an amused grin.

Beryl glared at him. “Fine. As I don’t appear to have a choice, I’ll wear it.” She stared at him. “Well? Turn around or leave the room or something!”

“There’s nothing you have that I haven’t seen before in some other shape or form.”

“Yeah? Well it’s my shape and form, so…,” she waved her hand at him, “naff off!”

Penni snorted. “All this and I don’t even get a peek for my efforts,” he grumbled as he turned his back while she changed. “Let me know if you need any help with the buttons.”

“I can manage.”

“You sure?” He waited a few moments in silence, listening to her struggle.

“Okay, I might need a little help,” she conceded. “Damn shoulder….” she griped.

Penni grinned as he turned around. “Wow,” he said, appreciatively taking in her appearance. “Maybe I was wrong. Think you will get noticed.”

“Just shut up and do up the buttons, will you?” she said dryly.

“Yes, ma’am,” he said smoothly.

03-31-2006, 11:02 PM
"Are you sure? I'm pretty sure I can find a way inside without setting off any alarms. Well, I guess the problem would be getting back out again, but I can worry about that part when I get to it," Ryshana replied. Thinking for just a second, she added, "Plus we'd be able to split up. You could find Cloud, and I could get Beryl. Besides, I have a funny feeling that the faster we're out of here, the better off we'll be."

04-01-2006, 02:05 AM
"i agree." Nic said checking if the coast was clear. "Be careful, i don't want to lose another crewman today, two is about my limit" Nic then took out a spare comlink he carried with him and handed it to ryshanna.

04-01-2006, 04:46 AM
As Jana got closer to the Echo, there was beeping sound from her comlink. She looked at it and saw it was from Jack. She answered but before she could say anything "Jana, get your @$$ back here pronto. You will not beleive who just hailed us."

04-01-2006, 06:30 AM
"Coming, Jack..." Jana told him, sighing slightly at his impatience. "Just give me a minute."

Soon, she boarded the Echo and immediately made her way into the cockpit.

"Alright, Mr. Goren," she said. "Who hailed us?"

04-01-2006, 06:57 AM
"One of the dreadnoughts.. right after it fired abon and destroyed the other. He wants to speak the the man or women incharge. And I'm just the piolt and the captain is near Theed and they've activated their com blockers and you are the first-mate.. Press that botten to respond"

04-01-2006, 09:03 AM
Oliver heard someone that entered the ship. "Help me!" he tried to shout, but it wasen't that loud. The blood from his mouth stopped he shouting. And in some sort of fit, he crushed another bottle to the floor. A very loud sound.

04-01-2006, 09:11 AM
"What in yodas name?" Jack left the consel to find out what that noice was. He rushed into Olivers room and said "Crap! What the hell did you do?". Jack picked the medic and carried him to the infarmery.

04-01-2006, 09:22 AM
"Don't worry about me and Beryl, Nic," Ryshana replied with a smile as she took the comlink from him. Turning towards the Imperial Base, Ryshana started looking for various ways inside.

04-01-2006, 10:50 AM
When Oliver was lifted by someone (he coulden't see that much anymore", he tried to speak. The bleeding was beginning to be much worse, but Jack could hear something about: "antidote...in my room...hurry".

04-01-2006, 11:47 AM
Beryl flinched as Penni fumbled with the buttons up the back of her dress.

“Sorry,” he apologised. “Cold hands.” It took him a few moments, but finally he did up the last one. “There. That should do it.” He eyed her over. “You look nice. Green suits you.” He pulled thoughtfully at his chin. “Turn around.”

“Just turn around. So I can see how it looks from the back.”

Beryl raised a dubious eyebrow, but did as she was asked.

“Hmm. Very nice,” he purred. “And you can barely see where I put the plasti-skin on your…”

“Hey!” Beryl quickly covered her backside with her hand and whirled around to face him. “Okay, that’s enough ogling for one day!” she said, glaring at him. She shifted uncomfortably as Penni merely stared back at her, grinning a dimpled grin. “Right, so, thank you, nice meeting you, I’ve got to go now,” she said to him hurriedly, and she started for the door.

“Whoa, not so fast! Wait just a minute!” he said, barring the way out with his body. “One last thing.”

Beryl looked at him askance, and her fist began to close. “Look, I told you I wasn’t that kind of grateful."

“I know, I know....” He held up his hand in a peaceful gesture, then went over to the desk unit in the corner of the room and began to rummage through a drawer. “Ah. Here it is.” He held up a necklace with a small green stone in the setting. “Always knew I’d find a use for this. It belonged to….” He paused, and gave her a sort of sad smile. “Well, never mind. It'll look better on you.”

Standing behind her, he put the necklace around her neck. “There. That’s better. Every Nabooan woman wears some kind of jewellery no matter what her, erm….” He cleared his throat. “Professional qualifications may appear to be.”

Beryl frowned at him, feeling more uncomfortable than ever in the flimsy dress. “Do you practice at being so ‘endearing’ or does being a nerfherder just come naturally to you?” she said icily.

“It’s a natural talent,” he replied, grinning slightly. “Oh! Almost forgot!” He held up his hand for her to stay put, then moved to the door. He opened it, and whistled down the corridor. She caught a few murmured words, then Penni closed the door again, holding a package in his hands.

“Here,” he said, tossing her the parcel.

“What is it?”

“Well, open it and find out.”

Warily, Beryl did. “Shoes?” She lifted the high-heeled green shoes out of their box. “You bought me shoes?”

Penni shrugged. “Well, you can’t exactly go barefoot through the streets of Theed, now, can you?”

“Unbelievable,” Beryl muttered. She put them on. “And even more unbelievable. They fit.”

“Sent someone out with your remaining boot, to make sure they got the right size. You like them?”

She stared at him for a moment. “Why are you doing this?”

“Like I said, you can’t go around Theed bare….”

“No, not that,” Beryl interrupted. “Being so nice to me?” she asked suspiciously. “What’s your game?”

Penni shrugged. “Game? No game. Just want to help you out.”

“You don’t know anything about me,” she said. “I mean, I could be a Rebel spy or something.”

He cocked an eyebrow. “Are you a Rebel spy?”

“No,” she said flatly. “But that’s not the point. I could be. Why take the chance?”

He took a moment to consider before answering. “You remind me of someone I used to know.”

“Oh. I see. Old girlfriend or something?” Beryl said sceptically.

“No.” Penni paused as if debating whether or not to expand on his answer. “So, shall we go?” he said, changing the subject. “I can escort you outside the barracks, but then I have to go back out on patrol. But you won’t have any trouble getting through the main gate. Just drop my name if you run into any problems.”

Beryl nodded. She didn’t know quite what to make of this Imp soldier. He didn’t seem to fit the stereotype of what she believed an Imperial soldier should be like. “Lead the way.”

As they left the barracks, Penni hushed his men’s leering looks and cat calls. “Get back to your duties!” he snapped at them, with all the authority of a true and hardened sergeant. “I want this place shining by the time I get back! Now move it!” The soldiers scattered like a frightened herd of nerfs.

Okay, so perhaps he does fit the stereotype, she thought.

Outside, the barracks, Penni took hold of her uninjured arm, and gently spun her around to face him. Without warning, he kissed her. “Sorry,” he apologised. “Had to get something for my trouble. Plus, the men are watching.” He winked. “Take care of that shoulder, now. Maybe I’ll see you around.”

Even though she thought she probably should be angry at him for kissing her without her permission, Beryl couldn’t help but smile. “Not if I see you first,” she said. “And thanks, Penni,” she added quietly.

She headed in the direction of the main gate of the Imperial Base, giving a quick backwards glance over her shoulder at him as he headed for the swoop bike garage.

04-01-2006, 12:20 PM
Jana stared at the comm for several long seconds. On the one hand, they were being contacted by a Dreadnaught... an Imperial Dreadnaught. But on the other, it had destroyed its companion Dreadnaught. Knowing she'd quite likely regret this, she switched on the comm.

"This is First Mate Jana Vincent," she said. "Captain White is away at the moment." After a short pause, she added, "Please make this quick... I... well, please just make this quick. We're a little busy right now."

She decided they didn't need to know she'd been attacked by Tusk cats or that Beryl had gone missing.

04-01-2006, 04:00 PM
Nic watched Ryshanna for a second before he noticed the Barrack gates open, he grabbed Ryshanna and pulled her behind a wall. Now away from the gaze of those who were coming oug of the barracks Nic peered around the corridor and saw an officer with a female companion.

On first glance Nic presumed she was a prostitute judgeing by the look of the women, this opinion didn't last long. He pulled off his sunglasses and looked at the women more closely. "Oh the Wookie Gods!" Nic exclaimed quietly "What is she wearing?"

04-01-2006, 04:58 PM
Stepping outside of the gates of the Imperial Base, Beryl was a bit unsure of where to go first. She’d never been to Theed before, and so didn’t have any contacts here, and by all appearances, it was a big city.

Okay, first things first, she thought. I need to find a com link to contact the ship, but making a secure call in an Imperial controlled zone will be expensive. And with no credits, that’s going to be a problem.

Then she saw the gambling parlour, just outside entrance to the base. Or, maybe not. She paused in thought for a moment, then pulled the front of her dress a bit lower to expose more cleavage, and walked inside. Perhaps this dress might be useful after all.

It didn’t take her long to find what she would term “an easy mark.” A Nabooan noble, balding and middle aged, slightly paunchy, and complaining in a loud voice as large pile of credits were scooped away from the table in front of him by the dealer.

She looked down at her legs. The superficial scratches were barely visible now. Thank the stars for fast acting bacta spray, she thought.

“You look like you could do with some luck,” she said in her most sultry voice as she sidled up to the obnoxious noble.

“The deck is stacked!” the nobleman snapped, with a dismissive wave of his hand. “And I don’t need any…!” He turned to look at her, and his scowl melted away. “Well,” he said, smiling slowly, as he drank in her form. “I, erm, could do with some luck. And if you don’t bring me luck, you can at least give me solace, eh?” He winked at her and patted her backside.

Beryl flinched, then forced a smile. “Perhaps,” she said, taking a seat beside him, ensuring to show him a bit of leg. “Ante up,” she said to him. “I’ve been told that I’m extremely lucky. In many ‘different’ ways,” she added.

He chuckled. “Really? Well, we’ll see, shall we?” He laid his credits on the table. “Deal,” he said to the dealer.

With Beryl hinting to the man on when to stand, when to play, and when to fold, it didn’t take long for him to regain his pile of credits, and even less time for Beryl to palm one or two of the higher value credit chips without him nor the dealer noticing.

A few more minutes enduring this lout, and I’ll be able to mingle and find out who I need to talk to find access to a secure com link, she thought to herself. But if he pats my backside one more time, I’m going to have to kick him where it hurts!

Ryshana had sensed that something was going to happen, but she was a bit surprised that it was Nic grabbing her. Before she could ask, she was instantly drawn back to the Imperial Base.

"Oh the Wookie Gods!" Nic exclaimed quietly "What is she wearing?"

"It is called a dress, my dear Mercenary Captain," Ryshana replied sarcastically. "Not that you'd ever be caught dead near a woman that wears things of such class." Before Nic could reply, Ryshana had already caught sight of where Beryl was heading. "Well, time to stick with the plan. You go find Cloud, and I'll go find Beryl. Besides, a touch of class might be required for my mission."

Patting Nic lightly on the back, Ryshana left him there while trying to hide the beaming grin on her face.

Heading over to the gambling parlor, Ryshana walked right in. Catching sight of Beryl, Ryshana made herself very inconspicuous. Finally, Ryshana came up with an idea. Heading over to the gambling table, Ryshana immidiately began to focus on one of the players.

"So, you wouldn't mind if we traded spots, now would you? Besides, your luck isn't holding up so well," Ryshana stated to a young nobleman.

"Yeah, well, this *is* a high stakes table. Are you sure you can afford it?"

Reaching into a hidden pocket on her leather pants, Ryshana pulled out a neatly folded stack of credits and handed them to the dealer. After exchanging the chips, the dealer handed her over 20,000 credits-worth of chips.

"I think so."

Slightly frustrated, the man grabbed the few chips he had left and stood up. Placing her chips on the table in front of her, Ryshana was now directly opposite of Beryl and her 'partner'. Looking directly at Beryl, Ryshana then stated, "Lets deal."

04-02-2006, 03:52 AM
As Ryshanna walked off Nic Grumbled "I Know what a dress is, i wore one once." Nic quickly checked around him to make sure no one heard this comment. Nic began to walk into the crouded market hopeing cloud would be there getting the supplies.

04-02-2006, 08:21 AM
Looking directly at Beryl, Ryshana then stated, "Lets deal."

“Well, well, well,” said the nobleman Beryl was with. “Looks like this table is finally attracting some real competition!” He draped an arm over Beryl’s shoulders and pulled her in closer to him. “Let’s hope your luck holds out for me, eh, cutie?”

Beryl was at a loss for words. In fact, she had to blink a few times just to make sure that she actually seeing Ryshana, and then make a conscious effort at keeping her mouth closed from the shock. And even though Beryl recalled her earlier feelings of misgiving about Ryshana being onboard the Echo, she was very glad to see her now. Very glad. So much so, that she had to seriously fight off the impulse of smothering the Twi’lek with a grateful, relieved hug.

“What’s the matter?” her ‘companion’ asked her, nudging her close enough for her to smell his breath. “Think she’ll give me a run for my money?”

“Huh?” Beryl shook off her shock and tried to regain her composure. “Oh, erm…we’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?”

The nobleman laughed, and luridly patted her thigh. “Deal, then,” he said to the dealer, as he anted up with a hefty handful of chips. “Let’s see what you’ve got, sweetheart,” he said confidently to Ryshana.

Although Beryl didn’t want to cause a scene in the middle of the casino that would get both of them noticed, she really just wanted to end her ordeal and go back to the ship with Ryshana. It had been a very rough day. A battle with a Dreadnaught and its eyeballs. Landing in the wilderness. Getting attacked and mauled by a Tusk Cat and her brood. Rescued by a strange and unusual Stormtrooper. And now having to get credits by degrading herself by sitting next to this….

She looked at the nobleman askance.

…this ignoble creature? It was almost too much for her to take. And there was little point now in trying to get credits to contact the Echo when Ryshana was sitting right here in front of her.

Beryl was just about ready to excuse herself from the table, when, apparently out of the blue, a thought came into her head. The Echo didn’t have a job, they needed supplies, and they were running low on credits. And this truly obnoxious, overweight, overbearing nobleman obviously had too many of them to know what to do with.

Beryl’s eyes met Ryshana’s, then flicked from the nobleman and back again. Was Ryshana using one of her Jedi ‘tricks’ to try and tell her to stay put and play to get more credits? Either way the pot went, they’d win. But it was an old trick, and if they got caught, they’d attract the attention of the casino security. And no doubt the Imperials.

She studied Ryshana for a sign of what to do.

04-02-2006, 11:18 AM
Ryshana could feel the shocked expressions and the large variance of emotions from Beryl. A very discreet method of technique quickly allowed Ryshana to partially calm down at least the adrenal glands in Beryl. The rest of the calming process would be up to her.

“Let’s see what you’ve got, sweetheart,” he said confidently to Ryshana.

Ryshana flashed the man a quick sideways smile as she studied him. Hmm, slightly nervous. He doesn't know what to expect from me, Ryshana thought as the dealer handed out the cards. Nobody may have made any faces about the cards, but Ryshana could still feel their reactions to the cards being dealt. Unlike most players, Ryshana knew whenever somebody was bluffing, when they had a bad hand, or whenever they had a good hand. Call it an unfair advantage or not, but it had aided Ryshana more than once in the past.

As her turn came to place bets, Ryshana raised as she knew that two of them would drop quickly with their bad hands. Lets see what you've got, Ryshana thought about the man with Beryl.

04-02-2006, 12:10 PM
Ryshana stared back at Beryl from across the gaming table, as calm and collected as... well, as a Jedi. And Beryl took this as a sign for her to do the same. Or, at the least, try.

She took a deep breath, then discreetly looked at the cards in her ‘partner’s’ hand. He didn’t have a bad set showing on the table. His cards only totalled fourteen, but she had an intuitive feeling that the next card drawn would tip it over twenty and he didn’t hold any ‘saviour’ cards in his hand.

The other players at the table, seemed to think their hands were all worthy enough to call Ryshana’s bet. Foolish, Beryl thought. Whether it was due to some Jedi trick or just the luck of the draw, she had a feeling that Ryshana held more than one reversal card. So, when the turn came to Beryl’s new friend, and he looked to her for guidance, she gave him a barely perceptible shake of her head.

The nobleman sighed dramatically. “I fold,” he said, then grinned with satisfaction.

The hand played out and to everyone’s surprise but Beryl’s, Ryshana easily won.

“Good hand,” the nobleman congratulated Ryshana. “Shall we play another?”

“Oh, look how late it’s getting,” Beryl said suddenly. “I’ve really got to get go….”

“Nonsense,” the nobleman said, interrupting her and grabbing her arm to keep her in her seat. “Surely the nice lady would play another hand with us so that we have a chance at winning our money back.” He looked at Ryshana, and then the other players at the table in turn. “Yes?”

Beryl sighed. This day was getting longer and longer.

Finnias Strife, proud Captain of the Royal Naboo Security Force(RSF), was pacing back and forth. There were Jedi in the Palace and he had a feeling that the Empire had found out. He had to prepare Theed for the worst. He had stationed multiple soldiers at different areas of Theed. He didin't expect what would happen during the Battle of Naboo.

"Don't give up." he said during the battle. The 501st Legion had captured multiple parts of the city. Then, the auto-turret grid that was protecting the Palace was destroyed. The Jedi that were in the Palace couldn't help going into battle to help Theed. They never stood a chance. During the battle, Finnias's arm was shot off. He had escaped the battle to heal himself. It was then that scouts had killed Queen Apailana. In the conclusion of the battle, the RSF gave up, Finnias went off-planet(unknown to the reat of the RSF), and the 501st became known as 'Vader's Fist'.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Strife." said Kylantha "But your father is presumed dead." "Well, thank you." said Cloud in sadness as he left for the bazaar. There, someone was having trouble with their R5 droid. Cloud decided to be a good citizen and help the civilian.

"Is there anything I can do for you, sir?" asked Cloud.

04-02-2006, 04:15 PM
Nic walked through the Market for about half an hour without any luck in finding cloud, No one had seen anyone by clouds discription. Nic continued walking through the streets, he was neuvous the more time he spent here the more chance of someone recognising him.

Nic suddenly got a funny feeling that someone was following him, he turned his body around but continued walking backwards in the same direction he was moving in. After a couple of steps he felt the barrel of a small hold-out blaster hit the small of his back.

"Please come with us Sir." The bearer said.

Nic obliged as a second man removed his weapons, The two men led nic down a few streets until they came to a large elegent house. Nic walked in and taken into a large room with an elegant sofa in front of a fire Nic was forced to sit down on it.

A few moments passed before Nic decided to speak up. "so did you bring me here for a reason or do you just do this for kicks?"

"They brought you here because i asked them to." A family voice replyed.

Nic turned with an extreme look of annoyance on his face as he saw a Women in an elegant dress walk into the room.

"For the love of... Carman why send your bully boyz to get me."

"Would you have come if i asked?"

"Then you have your answer." She said sitting on the sofa with Nic and looking at the two men who brought Nic. "Leave us."

The two men left the room.

"What do you want." Nic asked still annoyed.

"Oh it's just been a long time since we've seen each other."

"If i knew you were here i wouldn't have came."

"I'm actually surprised to see you here. After what you did."

"And i'm surprised to see you, shouldn't you be running your businesses on nar shaddar."

"That's all under control, I wanted a change of scenary."

"if that's all, i best be going i have people to see and thing's to do." Nic said looked around the room then standing up.

"I'f you're talking about that whore and twi'lek i've arranged for them to be brought here." She said. "i must admit your taste in companions has improved."

04-02-2006, 09:18 PM
((i'll presume that we're playing pazaak. hehe, last time i was under the impression that we were playing a game similar to 5-card stud. :p

come to think of it, lets make this game a mix of the two. each player must place a bet in the pot after each draw from the dealer until they either place a card down from their sidedeck, call their total, or fold. when the betting takes place, the players can either call the current bet or raise. the other standard pazaak rules apply. :) ))

"I don't see why not. I could definately go for another couple rounds," Ryshana replied to the man. Looking back at the dealer, Ryshana nodded to indicate that she was ready for yet another deal.

As the cards were distributed, Ryshana once again felt for the emotions of the other players as they recieved their cards. As the bets were cast, Ryshana once again raised to get the other players to fold. It was a type of bully tactics, but with her sidedeck, things like that didn't matter too much. After the last set, Ryshana was showing 12, another man was showing 16, and the nobleman across from her was showing 11. however, one man was sitting on 19 after playing the last card in his sidedeck.

as the bets were cast, the man with 16 put in 450. Sensing him, Ryshana could feel his emotions, and she knew he was bluffing. There was no way he could last another round. Sensing this, Ryshana raised the bet to 650. With the man next to her holding at 19, it was now the nobleman's turn to call, raise, or fold. Your call, Beryl, Ryshana thought.

04-02-2006, 10:17 PM
Beryl felt strange, helping the nobleman play Stud Pazzak against Ryshana instead of making a quick exit and heading for the Echo. But as the game progressed, Beryl began to relax a bit, although she wasn’t sure if the calmness she was feeling was coming from within her or being projected to her by Ryshana through her Jedi powers.

It was now Beryl’s nobleman pal’s turn. He nudged her, asking for advice.

Beryl wasn’t sure if Ryshana could read her thoughts, or know what she was planning, but she was hoping that she would let the guy win this time. It would make it easier to take more money from him later if he got a little confidence.

She looked at the cards showing, then thought a moment, then nodded.

“I…raise?” He glanced at Beryl, and she nodded again. “I raise,” he said with more confidence.

The cards were dealt again. The other player with 16 had busted. The one with 19 stood firm. Ryshana was now showing 17, as was Beryl’s ‘friend’. It was a contest between them now.

Beryl had one of her feelings and knew what the next cards would be. She nudged her ‘friend’.

“Raise?” he whispered, and she nodded. The nobleman gave a worried look at the three remaining cards he held in his sidedeck. “I raise,” he said, although not very confidently this time. He threw in an additional 500 credits into the pot.

Beryl looked at Ryshana, and as she did so, she raised her eyebrow ever so slightly, hoping that Ryshana would pick up on what she was thinking.

04-02-2006, 10:39 PM
Ryshana smiled slightly as the cards were dealt and things went her way. Now, it was a 17-17 tie and one guy holding at 19. Not too shabby, Ryshana thought.

Looking over at Beryl, she sensed an odd feeling from her. She wants me to lose this hand, Ryshana thought. Upon a bit of further deducement, Ryshana smiled inwardly. I love how this girl can think sometimes.

After the nobleman raised, Ryshana easily caught the raised eyebrow. "I call," Ryshana stated as she put in a 500 chip into the pot. With all available bets made, the dealer then set dealt what would be the final draw. Ryshana got a 5, which put her at 22. "Busted," Ryshana remarked. The nobleman, however, drew a 3. That gave him a perfect 20.

04-02-2006, 10:57 PM
The nobleman excitedly scooped the chips on the table into his corner, but not before giving Beryl another well-placed but unwelcome ‘pat’. She glared at him, but he was too busy stacking his chips to notice her displeasure.

“Another round?” he suggested. “After all, my good luck charm seems to be working for me!”

Beryl deftly dodged another pat, and gave Ryshana a pleading look.

Take him for everything he’s got, Ryshana, she thought, hoping again that Ryshana would pick up on it.

The hand started as normal, only Beryl was encouraging the nobleman to place higher bets, something that really didn’t need much encouragement as he was on a winning high.

Again, the cards were dealt, and again, it was pretty much down to the two of them. With both Ryshana and the nobleman standing at 18, it looked like the game would go either way. But again, Beryl knew what the cards would be and that her ‘pal’ would lose this hand. His next card was a six, and he only had a negative 2 card left in his side deck. She again raised her brow slightly, hoping that Ryshana would raise the stakes even higher.

04-02-2006, 11:25 PM
"A good luck charm?? Hmm, perhaps you shouldn't take beauty like that for granted," Ryshana jabbed at the nobleman.

"Haha!! You couldn't even dream of it. Besides, you've got beauty of your own. It may be worth its weight in Dragon Pearls, but it doesn't work as well as she does," the nobleman replied with a quick pat to Beryl. "Lets go for another, shall we?"

As the hand was dealt, Ryshana felt Beryl's uneasiness. Beryl was a crafty sort, and Ryshana could sense it. Smiling inwardly, Ryshana was ready to play for everything.

As the hands started, Ryshana decided to switch from her 'bully' style to a passive style and just simply call the bets instead of raising. Whenever they tied at 18, Ryshana knew it was all over. The pot was brimming with chips, and it was Ryshana's turn to set the bar. Catching another eye raise from Beryl, Ryshana knew things were all set for her to win big.

"Lets make this interesting. All in," Ryshana stated as she put every chip she had into the pot. The total: 21,985.

It was the perfect bait, and she knew it. While the other players folded, the nobleman was all too happy. "You're bluffing, I know it. They may not have the spine, but I certainly do. I'll call," he stated defiantly. Ryshana noticed that he didn't bother to check with Beryl this time, and that meant that it was indeed all over.

As the dealer drew the cards, Ryshana got an 8 while the nobleman got the 6. "Ah, well, all that drama for nothing," the nobleman stated reservedly.

"Not so fast," Ryshana stated. "My total is 26, but with the addition of my +/-6 card, that makes a perfect 20."

Pausing for effect, Ryshana smiled and then stated, "I win."

After collecting the chips, Ryshana now stood at about 45,000 credits. Although she would normally call it quits for the time being, she knew she could get some more credits out of this bunch of rich folks. Several members of the table got up to vacate their spots for others that were looking to get in on the action. Curiously, the nobleman Ryshana had just sparred with also got up to leave.

Before the nobleman could try to get Beryl to come with him, Ryshana gave her a quick nod accompanied with a discreet smile as a signal to leave him.

04-02-2006, 11:37 PM
“Oh, look, isn’t that your wife?” Beryl said, quickly pointing towards the entrance. She had no idea what the nobleman’s wife looked like, but fortunately he was panicking too much with the thought of his wife discovering him there with her to care.

As he spluttered his excuse to her to flee the scene, Beryl let out a heaving and grateful sigh. “I need a drink,” she said to herself, and headed for the back bar.

She gingerly sat down (still sore from the deep cat scratches which were even more sore now from all the ‘patting’ she had endured), checked the value of the couple of credit chips she had palmed, and ordered a large Corellian brandy.

04-02-2006, 11:56 PM
Ryshana almost started to giggle to herself at the distraction Beryl had just given the nobleman. Definately creative, Ryshana thought. Hmm, perhaps a bit to quickly for somebody that isn't sensitive to the Force.

Ryshana then stuck around for a couple more hands. These rich men were easy pickings since they were much more willing to throw the chips around than the standard Pazaak players. After a while, her stack of chips had grown to almost 60,000. I think that should be enough to help us out for quite a while, Ryshana thought to herself. After winning the last deal, Ryshana got up and gathered her chips.

After meeting with the Floor Captain, Ryshana quickly exchanged her chips for credits. As the Captain dealt the credits to Ryshana, she quickly felt outwards for Beryl. It didn't take long to find her sitting over at the bar towards the back.

Heading in that direction, Ryshana quietly walked up behind Beryl and then sat down next to her. Before she looked over at Beryl, Ryshana signaled the bartender. "A Cassandran Choholl please," Ryshana stated. "Sorry, we won't even get in another bottle for a couple of weeks. Even then, there's a waiting list," he replied

"The Cassandran Brandy will do just fine."

As the bartender started mixing the drink, Ryshana looked over at Beryl and smiled. "So, I take it that you've had a busy day."

04-03-2006, 12:06 AM
On her fourth drink already, Beryl replied, “You have no idea.” She quickly downed the glass and asked for another, before turning to face Ryshana. She paused, and her brow wrinkled slightly. “I am so glad to see you,” she said, with genuine relief in her voice, as she shifted in her seat to try and get a bit more comfortable. “Were you looking for me, or did Nic send you out for supplies?”

04-03-2006, 12:11 AM
"Actually, we've been looking for you the entire time. After the landing, Nic and I were supposed to get you from the Headhunter. I'm pretty sure he might get on your case for not staying put, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'll have your back," Ryshana replied. As the bartender handed over the drink, Ryshana took a quick sip.

"Well, there are a couple parts I'm not entirely understanding. First is how the heck you got to be a girlfriend for some Trooper Sergeant," Ryshana stated with a smile.

04-03-2006, 12:25 AM
Beryl raised her eyebrows in shock, and felt herself begin to flush.

“Erm…girlfriend? I am most certainly not any Stormtrooper’s girlfriend,” she said. “Penni just…helped me out a bit. Gave me a lift into Theed. Treated some of my wounds. And…”

Then she frowned, thinking how ludicrous this all sounded. A Stormtrooper. Helping her. She looked down at her shoes, and she felt herself blush even more. And…buying me shoes. Nice shoes, too…

She shook her head. “He’s obviously insane or … or something,” she said hurriedly. “Either that or he was up to something.” She sighed. “But he knows my name. My first name, anyway. I couldn’t for the life of me remember what name was on that ID Nic gave me. Still can’t,” she added with a shrug.

04-03-2006, 12:33 AM
Ryshana laughed lightly to herself at Beryl's response. "So, he has a name, too. Sounds like he just simply liked you. You can never underestimate the power of male hormones," Ryshana replied while taking another sip from her drink.

Thinking for just a second, Ryshana then stated, "Do you know why he was in that particular area of jungle?"

04-03-2006, 12:37 AM
"He said he was looking for a Jedi," Beryl stated flatly. "Apparently, suspected to be on a cargo ship that had landed in the area." She grinned, and took another drink before continuing. "Have you ever heard of such an outrageous story?" she said sarcastically, just in case anyone was eavesdropping on their conversation.

04-03-2006, 12:40 AM
"I've heard of much taller tales, believe me," Ryshana stated quickly. "Oh, and another thing. Exactly how did things turn out with that 'cat'? With no weapons, I would imagine things got a bit interesting."

04-03-2006, 12:49 AM
Beryl gave Ryshana a deadpan look. "What's interesting is how I can still manage to sit on a chair." With that said, she shifted again, grimacing slightly. "Those mom cats don't mess around. Don't think I'll need stitches, but I really couldn't see how bad the wound was. It's covered with a large piece of plasti-skin at the moment. Still hurts though. Least the superficial stuff is nearly healed," she said, looking down at her bare leg.

"I came to in a cave, and it didn't take me long to realise I was tagged as 'training material' for her brood." Beryl sighed. "Lost my boot and my jacket in the process. I liked that jacket, too," she added. "Tell you what, though, Krayt Dragon hide is the only leather I'm ever going to wear from now on. I'm lucky to have gotten out of there in one piece."

04-03-2006, 12:57 AM
Ryshana raised her eyebrows slightly at the last comment. "Yes, you seem to be very lucky indeed. And on more than one occassion," Ryshana commented. "But, its no matter." Ryshana paused for a moment to take another sip of the Brandy.

"Since we seem to have a bit of time on our hands, I think that I need to ask you something a bit personal, if you don't mind of course."

04-03-2006, 01:10 AM
"But it's no matter," Ryshana said.

Beryl looked at her askance. "I'm lucky at cards, yes. But that's all. Luck isn't the same as skill. Or quick reaction time. Or quick thinking under stress. Or targeting an eyeball without the computer. Those things come with practice."

Beryl cringed slightly as Ryshana said she wanted to ask her a personal question. "Alright. Go ahead. What did you want to know?"

04-03-2006, 01:14 AM
"Well, its just that you've been pretty distant since the whole encounter with Vader. You avoid me, and until about an hour ago when we started up at the Pazaak table, I haven't hardly even gotten so much as a look from you. I haven't done anything wrong, have I?" Ryshana asked a bit nervously.

04-03-2006, 01:27 AM
"No, not really." Beryl bit her lip. "I...I guess I should apologise for acting the way I did," she said humbly. "It's just...." She exhaled, trying to collect her thoughts. "I suppose I was a bit...resentful of you being on board in the first place. Because...well, because of you being... you know," she said, reluctant to say the word 'Jedi' in such a public place. "And, right now, that's not a real good thing to be in this Galaxy." She frowned. "And Cloud doesn't need any help with anything now that he's your...student. So, I suppose I was feeling... I don't know. Useless, I guess. Anyway, I'm sorry. I'm glad you're here now. Really." She shivered. "And please don't mention the 'V' word again. He scares me. A lot."

04-03-2006, 01:46 AM
Ryshana smiled lightly. "I know this isn't exactly a good place to talk about it, but at least things are in the open. Trust me: if you need something, I'm always available. I may be a bit of a special case, but a lot of that is in the past. Things have changed too much for those things to matter as much any more," Ryshana stated as the smile slowly faded.

Taking yet another sip, Ryshana then continued, "Besides, I could use a good friend. Constant meditation makes for a strong connection, but it makes for distant relationships. I'd rather not have things turn out that way."

04-03-2006, 02:07 AM
"Me neither," said Beryl. She grinned at Ryshana. "And I suppose I owe you some thanks for bailing me out of a potentially sticky situation. I was just trying to get enough credits to find a secure com link to contact you guys, not enough to buy my own ship and come find you. And I swear, if that mongrel gave me one more 'pat', I was going to thump him. Hard."

Beryl downed the rest of her drink. "Well, I think I'm sufficiently relaxed now." She frowned slightly. "You said you came here with Nic, didn't you? Where is he?"

04-03-2006, 10:28 AM
"Actually, I'm not to sure. He was looking for Cloud whenever we split. Hmm, I hope everything is alright," Ryshana thought aloud. Thinking for a second, Ryshana knew that Nic had run into what could easily become a bit of trouble. For some reason though, Ryshana had a feeling she wouldn't have to go looking for him.

04-03-2006, 12:47 PM
Nic and Carman were now drinking Kamonian Whiskey, Nic was obviously annoyed with the situation he found himself in and looked out of the window. He got a good view of the plaza outside the palace, Nic hated what he saw, imperials were everywhere.

"So Nic care to tell me why you've come back?" Carman asked relaxing on the sofa. Nic looked around and walked over to her.

"My ship was running low on supplies this was the closest place where we thought the imps wouldn't be."

"Ah yes your ship, the Echo, you and Jana have made quite a name for yourselves."

"Well we do good work."

"Yes, yes, But last i heard the imps put a bounty on it."

"Really, how Much?"

"100,000 credits"

"That all? I thought it would be higher than that... It's kinda insulting."

Carman laughed "You know i can help you i have friends that can change the id codes for you."

"Yes i'm sure you can but it's never that simple with you, What do you want."

"A favour to be called on when i need it."

Two men walked Up behind Ryshana and Beryl, one of the men held a blaster and pointed it at them. "Please come with us ladies."

04-03-2006, 03:58 PM
Beryl glanced down at the blaster, discretely poking out from inside the man’s jacket, then slowly met Ryshana’s eyes. “Unbelievable,” she said to Ryshana with a shake of her head. “And here I was thinking this day couldn’t possibly get any worse.”

As Ryshana remained outwardly calm, Beryl wasn’t overly concerned with the men's sudden arrival. After all, Ryshana was a Jedi. Beryl had no doubt that if Ryshana really wanted to, she could make the thugs just go away with one of those Jedi mind tricks.

“So,” Beryl asked the man with the blaster, “where are we supposed to be going?”

“You’ll find out soon enough,” he answered cryptically. He waved the blaster, and nodded towards the back door. “Now, please, come along with us quietly and you won’t get hurt.”

Beryl snorted. “Oh, that’s original,” she said sarcastically. “What’s next? The old, ‘we just want to talk to you,’ or perhaps, ‘we’re just doing our job,’ or, my favourite, ‘it’s nothing personal, it’s just business.’”

“Please, ma’am,” said the man, with all the warmth of a maintenance droid, “we don’t want to make a scene here.”

“That was my next guess,” Beryl said, giving him a quick but wry grin. “That’s the trouble with you thugs. Never any original thoughts.”

The man gave her a rather urgent nudge in the side with the barrel of the blaster.

“Ow!” Beryl said, frowning with irritation, as her ribs were still slightly tender from her encounter with the Tusk Cat. “Alright, alright! No need to get nasty!”

Ryshana smiled lightly to herself as she crossed her arms across her chest. These two men weren't from the casino's security. That meant that they were working for somebody that could pay off the security so they could not only carry weapons into the casino but also so they could apprehend someone when they were called.

Looking straight into the eyes of one of the thugs, Ryshana then stated, "You want to tell us who your employer is."

The thug quickly replied, "We want to tell you who we're working for. Its a woman named Carmen. Other than that, we haven't been told anything else."

Nodding her head in agreement, Ryshana then stated, "Put up your weapons. We'll come peacefully."

The thugs did as they were told, and they led the pair outside the casino.

04-03-2006, 05:57 PM
Because Beryl had only heard rumours and tales about Jedi mind tricks, she was quite impressed at seeing one in action. She cocked an amused eyebrow as the thugs put their weapons away, but said nothing until they were led outside.

"Neat trick," she said quietly to her Jedi friend. "Scary," she added. "But neat."

Just as they skirted around the edge of the main bazaar, Beryl had to do a double take as she noticed a man standing near a malfunctioning droid, his ruff of familiar blond, spikey hair poking out from behind the droid's chassis. It was Cloud.

"Whoops," she said, feining that she had caught her high heel in some imperfection in the pavement and had to fix her shoe. As she bent down, she palmed a small stone. With a very quick flick of her wrist, she threw it, aiming for the edge of the droid.

The stone hit exactly where she had wanted it to. Rising and apologising to her two thug escorts for her clumsiness, Beryl was hoping that Cloud would notice her and Ryshana--not to save them, but just to notice that they were going somewhere with two thugs. Perhaps, she thought, he could tell Nic, when he eventually found him, or failing that, tell whoever had been left on the Echo.

04-03-2006, 06:15 PM
"Do you know how to fix an R5 unit?" asked the cizilian. "I do." said Cloud. "See what you can do with it." responded the cizilian.

When Cloud got near the droid, a stone hit it. Cloud looked around and thought some kids were throwing stones at each other. When he turned toward a wall, he seen a glimpse of Beryl's hair. Atleast, he thought it was Beryl's.

"Is it coincidence that someone has the same hair as Beryl?" thought Cloud. "Yeah, but is it possible?"

Then, Cloud looked at the civilian.

"Sorry sir, but I have another matter to attend to." said Cloud appologeticly. "Go see that mechanic shop over there."

With that said, Cloud ran to the outside of the Bazaar. There were two thugs, a Twi'Lek that looked like Ryshana, and a female Human that hair like Beryl's. Cloud decided to follow them and see if it was Beryl.

"Your ship is currently being targets by our dreadnoughts plantary sensors. In a matter of seconds we could drop 20 or more bombs on your location. Not to menchion your men are being targeted by my snipers. You will reach your captain in two hours and tell him to come here. There is no escape"

Jack rushed in Olivers room and searched the thing high and low, tearing apart the draws, every useless thing he chucked on the floor. He searching for about a minute untill he came across an sirgine labed 'antidote'. "hmm, just a guess but I think this could be it". Jack jolted into the infirmary and quickly (but carefully) injected Oliver with the antidote. "I hope that'll do the trick"

Nic Was confused ny this request of a favour, all the years nic had known carman he had never heard her do this sought of thing. She was a money up front kind of person.

"What kind of favour?" Nic asked

"I don't know, you never know when i may need help."

"You know i don't like owing someone."

"Nic You can take my offer and get supplies from me and leave this world soon, or spend days here looking for them, and we both know you wouldn't want that."

Nic had been put into a corner, Carman was correct the less time Nic was on Naboo the better. Nic looked annoyed then held out his hand, Carman responded by standing up and shaking his hand.

"This isn't how we use to close our deals." She said in a sultury voice.

"That was a long time ago."

((occ-this is proberly the time for ry and be to come in.))

04-05-2006, 07:08 PM
Beryl and Ryshana were escorted through the impressive-looking doors of an equally impressive-looking estate house.

Beryl’s heels clacked on the highly polished patterned marble floor, as she took notice of the artwork and expensive furnishings they passed, then looked up at the chandelier hanging from the ceiling in the wide front hall. “All this, and your employer couldn’t afford to hire thugs with brains?” she said, giving a sideways glance to the thug nearest her. As they passed by a painting, she squinted at it. “Oh, well, that explains everything,” she said plaintively, as she noticed a colour in the painting that shouldn’t have been there.

“What explains what?” asked one of the thugs.

“Why Carmen doesn’t pay for higher quality help,” Beryl replied. She gave a quick look at Ryshana, and mouthed, “It’s a fake.”

They were escorted into a cozy but plush sitting room, complete with a fire in the large decorative fireplace, where Nic stood holding hands with a sultry, but elegant looking woman.

Just as Beryl raised an eyebrow in surprise at seeing Nic, the thought suddenly occurred to her that this might not be a house, but a place of… business. She looked down at her dress, then looked at Ryshana, in her tight leather clothes. “Oh, no...,” she uttered softly, thinking that she and Ryshana had been mistakenly brought here as potential bordello ‘recruits.’

Managing a weak smile, she said, “Erm…hi, Nic. We’re not… interrupting anything, are we?”

04-06-2006, 07:30 AM
Nic looked over at his two companions. "no we just finished our buisness." Nic said walking over to Beryl "She's agreed to re-supply the Echo."

04-06-2006, 09:34 AM
"Well, that's good news. Its a rather interesting way to get a favor from somebody. You know, trying to drag us here at blasterpoint and all," Ryshana replied to Nic. "We saw Cloud on our way in. It may be a good idea to pick him up on our way out."

04-06-2006, 10:27 AM
Oliver began slowly to like human again. The blood from his mouth stopped alos. "That was the one. Thank you".

04-06-2006, 11:16 AM
"What on earth happened to you doc? No wait let me guess.. alachol poisening. You should really learn to controll your drinking habits."

04-06-2006, 11:53 AM
"What do you mean? Do you say, that i drink to much?" Oliver saied, while he began to stand up. A very quickly antidote.

"I can control my drinking - but i could see on my symtoms, that it wasen't from alcohol posion - it was a poision. A poision you normally use, to kill other people". Oliver realisted, what happened and he looked scared on Jake. "Somebody tried to kill me".

Oliver suddenly runned to his computer, and looked at his bottle. "I took the drink from this bottle. "This bottle is from Naboo - maybe i can look up the identification number on the bottle on the PC?"

He began to type the code into the comouter.

04-06-2006, 12:03 PM
"Why would anyone wanna kill a doctor like yourself? Is there anything I should know Oliver?" Asked Jack as he followed the medic to the computer

04-06-2006, 12:18 PM
"I had some problems. before i joined the Echo. I know many people. who would like to have me dead." Oliver saied, without even look at Jack. "There was a conflict on Dantooine, and...."

Suddenly something popped up from the PC. A adress to where, the bottle was produced. Oliver looked on the name, and looked choked.

"I don't belive this! The bottle is from him!" Oliver showed the name. Nothing speciel - a Karl Notting from Dantooine. "It's my brothers company!"

04-06-2006, 01:00 PM
"Great. You brother tried to poisen you. Thats got to be ocward. Sometime I'm glad I only have a sister.." said looking at the screen "It's a shame we can't go and kick his sorry ass right now. You should talk to Nickie about that."

04-06-2006, 02:01 PM
"Resupply us?" Beryl said to Nic. She gave a sideways glance at Nic, then at Carmen, then Carmen's thugs. From all outside appearances, Carmen looked like an upstanding and wealthy citizen. But from the thugs, the rich furnishings for appearance's sake, and the calculating look behind her eyes, Beryl suspected that Carmen's history was a bit more delinquent than debutante.

What she wanted to say to Nic next was, "With what? Stolen merchandise?" What she ended up saying was, "That's very generous of her."

"Well, that's good news. Its a rather interesting way to get a favor from somebody. You know, trying to drag us here at blasterpoint and all," Ryshana replied to Nic. "We saw Cloud on our way in. It may be a good idea to pick him up on our way out."

"Way out? That's the best suggestion I've heard all day," Beryl commented. "Nic, can we... can we just go back to the ship now? I've had a really, really bad day."

04-06-2006, 04:11 PM
"i'm sure you have." Nic sarcastically replied looking at Beryls dress. He turned to Carman. "The ship is in th..."

"Forest near the swamp just outside the city, I know." Carman interrupted

"of cource you do."

"Well a ship being hunted by the imperials does attract my attention."

Nic turned around and began to walk away, he flicked his hand signaling Beryl and ryshana to follow.

04-06-2006, 05:51 PM
Ryshana looked a bit sideways at Nic as he gave them the signal to leave. "What's with the hand signals?? Can't you just order us to come along like you usually do?" Ryshana asked mockingly as she followed Nic with Beryl by her side.

Catching up to Nic, Ryshana gave him a quick smile to let him know that she was just joking.

04-08-2006, 03:11 AM
""Great. You brother tried to poisen you. Thats got to be ocward. Sometime I'm glad I only have a sister.." said looking at the screen "It's a shame we can't go and kick his sorry ass right now. You should talk to Nickie about that."

Oliver looked at Jack. "What should he do that? It dosen't make sense to me. He was been angry on me since my father died, but..." Oliver suddenly realised, what was happened. "I must go to Dantooine soon!"

04-08-2006, 04:26 AM
Nic walked out of Carman's house, and began to walk in the direction of the Echo. Nic looked back to see if Beryl and Rysahana were still following. Nic turned back and smiled to himself, they were finily getting off the planet.

04-08-2006, 05:31 AM
"I'm afraid we can't. We're in a bit of a sticky situation..." said Jack "Your family fued is going to have to wait. And anyhow, how did he manage to get a bottle in here?"

04-08-2006, 05:50 AM
"I buyed this special bottle through this PC, from one of the normal juma-juice companys. It's much easier to buy through the PC. But, the company must have hacked my PC - why should they possible know, where and when i would buy alcohol?" Oliver searched on the PC agian. "Oh, my brother is actually very rich now. Try and look". Oliver shoed Jack a site, with an description of Karl Notting. "He is actually also mayor in one of the small farmer citys now. Actually the same place, where my father were mayor. Strange, i thought Karl hated that place".

04-08-2006, 07:30 AM
"hmmmm, I so what's the family fued about? Because, last time I checked that brothers don't usually try to kill their brother for the pure hell of it.."

04-08-2006, 09:19 AM
"I don't really know it myself, to be honest. They had always blamed me, but i don't know how.". He didn't say that with confidence. "He just...hated me".

04-08-2006, 11:07 AM
Cloud watched Ryshana and Beryl go into a house with some thugs and he waited. Then, he seen Nic, Ry, and Beryl walk out. He waited awhile and walked out to beside Nic. "What happened Nic?"

04-08-2006, 02:02 PM
"Maybe he completely lost it under the stress of losing a father. Or maybe he's in league with the empire. There is a rather large bounty in our heads. But that's the least of our worries. We have a top of the range dreadnought swearing to blow us to shreds unless we do a job for it. Your going to have to worry about your family fued later."

04-09-2006, 05:55 AM
"Well - i suppose your right. But after our "mission", i would like to go to Dantooine again. If have something to... do". The last sentence ends sith a mumble.

04-09-2006, 09:02 AM
Cloud watched Ryshana and Beryl go into a house with some thugs and he waited. Then, he seen Nic, Ry, and Beryl walk out. He waited awhile and walked out to beside Nic. "What happened Nic?"

Beryl smiled, very happy to see Cloud. "Nic's made a deal with a...." She paused, wanting to use the word 'crime boss' to describe Carmen to Cloud, but deciding that it probably was best to be conservative with her judgements for now. "...with a friend. She's agreed to resupply us." She gave Nic a wary look. "For some unknown reason that our Captain has yet to disclose," she added quietly.

"By the way, Nic," she said, "supplies...does that include clothing? If we're walking to the Echo, I really need to get a pair of more durable shoes. Oh, and a new leather jacket, as mine got used as a chew toy. And a pair of trousers. And...." She shifted uncomfortably. "Well, do we have time for that? At least for the shoes, anyway. High heels are not the sort of thing I want to be wearing when treking through the forest."

04-09-2006, 01:46 PM
Nic looked at beryl and smiled. "We don't have time for that, we need to get to the Echo Now, Beside's the dress suits you, Given a differant start in life you could have been a buisness women, Lady of leisure, a dancer or a whore, the life you could of lived."

04-09-2006, 02:53 PM
Beryl's eyes narrowed at Nic. "Oh really? It suits me, does it? You think I'm wearing this by choice!? Thought I'd put it on just to spice up my life and have a little fun while I was in town? Dream on, fly boy!" She pointed a finger at him. "And if you mention the word 'whore' again, I'll deck you but good!"

She pushed past all of them and walked on ahead of them--angry, tired, and just wanting this horrible day to end.

04-09-2006, 05:32 PM
As Beryl shoved past, Cloud couldn't help thinking about the right words to say to a woman. Nic had defonately said something wrong there. Although, he couldn't help but snicker when Nic said "whore". "Nic." started Cloud. "You don't call a woman a whore because she looks like one. I know you didn't acually call her a whore, but you get the idea." Cloud started to think about the 'friend' that was resupplying them. He couldn't think of anyone. Then, he thought of 'friends' that Nic knew.

04-09-2006, 06:44 PM
As she stomped away, Beryl felt a bit guilty at losing her temper with her captain like that, but...dern it! He deserved it! She knew she was dressed like a street harlot. Hadn't wanted to wear this flimsy dress in the first place. But at the time, she hadn't had much of a choice. Penni had been right--the clothes she had been wearing would have exposed more bits of her than this dress did. But it didn't make her feel better to know that not only did she look like a whore, but Nic and everyone else thought she looked good as one.

As she passed by a rubbish bin, she gave it a good, hard kick, imagining that it was a body part of Nic's. She winced a bit afterwards, but thought it was better to have a dented rubbish bin and a sore foot, than a captain doubled-over in pain.

She looked down at her shoe. It was scuffed. "Crap!" she seethed. She couldn't wait to get back to the Echo and into some 'normal' clothes.

04-09-2006, 11:11 PM
Ryshana just shook her head at Nic's comments. "Smooth one there, Captain," Ryshana stated sarcastically. As Beryl stormed off, Ryshana quickly followed her, but she was too late to stop her from kicking the trashcan.

"Hey, ease up there. The can didn't make the insensitive comment," Ryshana stated. Looking down at the scuffed shoe, Ryshana smiled a bit. "That's ok. I've got some polish in my stuff for that sort of thing. Come on, we'll leave the boys to sort things out on their own while us sophisticated women head on back to the ship by ourselves."

04-10-2006, 07:42 AM
"Well that went well." Nic said taking his sunglasses out of his pocket and onto his face. "c'mon cloud the quicker we get back to the Echo the quicker we can get off this imperial rock."

Nic and Cloud set off and walked through the forest, although it may be dangerous for the group to split up again but Nic decided Ryshana and Beryl could handle themselves. It didn't take long for the captain and engineer to reach their ship, Nic opened the loading ramp and walked in.

04-10-2006, 08:28 AM
Cloud quickly followed. Then, he started to think about his father. That made him feel down. Where was he? Is he alive? How will I find him? "I found out about my father while we were in Theed." said Cloud. "They don't know where he is."

04-10-2006, 12:52 PM
Nic stepped into the cargohold and looked back at Cloud. "Cloud i don't want to seem unsensitive, but he has been missing for years, you have to prepare yourself for the worse."

Nic went to the control panel and closed the loading ramp. "Now prep the ship best you can we want to leave as soon as Carmen's guys get here with the supplies." Nic hit the intercom button. "Hey guy's anything interesting happen while i was gone."

04-10-2006, 02:37 PM
"Hey guy's anything interesting happen while i was gone."

Oliver hit the intercom buttom. "Not that much - the only thing is maybe, that i just have been close to die by a deadly posion - but not that interesting".

04-10-2006, 03:01 PM
"It's been pretty boring here. Not much has happened. Oh before I forget you need to talk to the Dreadnought captain via com or he's going to bomb us to kingdom come."

04-12-2006, 12:51 PM
Nic took his hand off of the intercom button. "and i thought my day was interesting."

Nic ran up to the bridge and saw Jana standing there. "What's going on in my ship? i leave for five minets and all hell breaks loose."

04-12-2006, 07:43 PM
Beryl appreciated Ryshana's company on the way back to the ship. At least Ryshana didn't make any derogatory comments, just pleasant conversation. And, all things considered, she felt less aprehensive walking through the forest having a Jedi as an extra set of eyes and ears.

But as Beryl stepped on board the Echo, she paused just at the top of the ramp, a shocked look on her face.

Turning to Ryshana, she said, "The Headhunter! I forgot about the Headhunter!" She shook her head. "I was so focused on just getting back to the ship, that I totally forgot about it! I have to go back for it."

She started back down the ramp, then paused, once again feeling a bit apprehensive of treking through the wilderness, given her most recent and near deadly encounter with the local fauna.

"Erm...Ryshana...," she started hopefully, "...erm...do you know how to fly a Z-95? You see, I'm not really dressed for flying, and you'd only really have to fly it into the ship's drop hanger once the Echo's in the air." She gave Ryshana a weak smile, hoping that she would agree to do it.

04-13-2006, 01:17 AM
Ryshana smiled a bit and replied, "Well, its been a couple of years since I've flown a Headhunter, but most fighters are fairly similar to each other. Well, at least the controls are similar. You don't have any special settings on it or anything, do you?"

04-13-2006, 02:53 AM
"Not since my brother's people 'fixed' it," Beryl said, sounding a bit disappointed. "I haven't had time to reconnect any of the enhancements I made. Like the remote piloting system. Otherwise, I could have used the sim unit to bring it back." She paused a moment. "So, you should be fine. Does that mean you'll do it?"

04-13-2006, 12:06 PM
"Sure. Just make sure you stop by my room if you need some polish or something to fix up your clothes," Ryshana replied. Turning around back to the forest, Ryshana very quickly and quietly made her way to the Headhunter.

As she approached, Ryshana could sense something odd about the whole situation. As she reached the clearing, Ryshana stopped before she entered it. Everything was quiet. Way to quiet for a forest. Looking outwards with the Force, Ryshana could now sense a number of stormtroopers and an Imperial officer waiting concealed in the brush. Well, this isn't I can't handle, Ryshana thought for just a moment. She didn't sense any trip wires, pressure plates, or remote explosives, so she decided to just simply walk calmly into the clearing.

As soon as she entered the clearing, an entire company of stormtroopers very quickly surrounded her. They quickly yelled at her to surrender. So, Ryshana quickly put her hands up above her head. The Imperial officer then stepped out into the clearing. "You are under arrest, twi'lek," he stated.

"Why, I was just out for a quick run-"

"Stuff it. Now, we know that there was twi'lek Jedi around here recently, and judging by your 'leg brace', I'd say that we just found it. Troopers, fire at-"

Suddenly, Ryshana quickly gathered the Force around her and slammed her hands onto the ground. A massive shockwave then flew out from around her, tossing the Stormtroopers and the Imperial Officer like ragdolls. Quickly reaching out, Ryshana grabbed the officer in midair with the Force and pulled him back to her. Simultaneously, Ryshana pulled out her lightsaber and ignited it next to the officer's neck.

After a couple minutes, the stunned troopers began to wake up. However, they suddenly noticed that they had been stripped of their armor and weapons and were each individually hanging from a tree branch by their wrists. The other thing they noticed is that they weren't back in the barracks. Somebody had kidnapped them and strung them up in the forest. ((or so they think. Ryshana used the Force to erase the memories of them finding a Jedi.))

Meanwhile, in the clearing, Ryshana was just finishing tying the officer to the underside of the Headhunter. "Hey, you can't do this to me!" he yelled out.

"Sure I can. Besides, I have a funny feeling that we'll need you in the next couple of moments," Ryshana replied as she unlocked the cockpit and jumped inside. Closing the hatch, Ryshana quickly familierized herself with the controls and prepared to take off. Activating the com, Ryshana tuned it to the proper secure frequency. "Echo 1, this is the Headhunter. I'm ready when you're ready."

04-16-2006, 05:09 PM
With Ryshana away getting the Headhunter, Beryl closed up the ramp and then headed for the bridge to see what was going on, and more importantly, when they were leaving.

She found Jana, Nic, and Jack in the bridge. "Ryshana's gone after the Headhunter," she said, then she noticed the very serious looks on their faces. "Erm...something wrong, guys?"

04-16-2006, 05:16 PM
"Wrong is a bit of an understatement. We have a dreadnought who has threatened to bomb a hundred bombs on our location unless Nick speaks to the Dreadnought captain. Hint hint" Said Jack looking at Nic

04-17-2006, 05:33 AM
Nic walked over to the comm station, He was confused and wasn't sure what to say so after a few seconds he pushed the button and simply said. "Hello."

04-17-2006, 05:49 AM
"Captain White. I have a job perposal for you. In return I let you live,Iwill lower the bounty on you which is rising every day and give 10,000 credits in return. All for a simple retrival job. Are you interested?"

04-17-2006, 08:48 PM
Beryl stood there for a moment while the Captain of the Dreadnaught spoke. Then, looking at Nic, she said, "Well, looks like you've got your work cut out for you." She began to slowly back out of the door. "I'll just... go and change into something... more appropriate for a bombing, or mission, or... whatever trouble you're about to get us into."

She hurried down the corridor, not wanting to know what Nic was planning to do. The least she knew, the better off she was, was her line of thinking.

She opened the door to her room, and let out a huge sigh of relief. Not bothering to close the door, she sat down heavily on her bed. "Home," she sighed.

She took off the shoes that Penni had bought her and ran her finger over the scuff from kicking the wastecan. "Think I'll take up Ryshana on her polish," she said, examining the shoes. Then she frowned. "Huh," she said, just now noticing the manufacturer. "Nucci?" She snorted. "Empire's paying their sergeants well these days."

04-17-2006, 08:54 PM
"Hey, Beryl," Jana said cheerfully, poking her head into Beryl's room and looking around, missing Beryl at first glance. "Just so you know, it sounds like..." She trailed off, suddenly catching sight of Beryl. A disbelieving smile came to her face. "Whoa..."

She came completely into the room. "A dress, Beryl?" she laughed. "I figured you'd have disguised yourself, but..." She shook her head, clearly amused. "You clean up very well, I must say."

04-18-2006, 07:35 AM
"We'll normally i don't like to help Imperials... but considering you have the ability to obliterate my ship. I'm listening"

04-18-2006, 08:36 AM
"Well during the clone wars a republic star destroyer known as the Rhea. It was owned by a corrupted commander which performed illegal biological tests and other s***. During the rise of the empire it disappeared. I want to find to find the location of the ship so my men can captue and start my rebellion against the emporer. To get the location you must befriend an imperal moff known as John Butcher, mainly by going undercover a rich couple who incharge of resturant or something. The guy is a pig so it'll be easy for you to gain his trust as long as you can supply food. Question?"

04-18-2006, 12:23 PM
"No we'll do your job on one condition. You arrange the fake creds we'll need." Nic said reluctantly.

04-18-2006, 01:24 PM
"Deal. You may want to sort out the roles with your crew. Your going to need a husband and wife wh own the company, a personal servant (preferonably female), one or two body gaurds and the rest of your crew can be an infiltration team. If you need to ask any questions about infiltration ask your piolt. He knows what to do."
A puzzel look could be seen on Jacks face, "What in vaders name are you on about... crap, he's switched off his com.."

04-18-2006, 02:02 PM
Nic turned to Jack and walked over to the intercom. "Jack do me a favor and help Oliver into the common room." Nic hit the button on the intercom. "All crew to the common room... We have a job."

Nic then walked into the common room and waited for everyone else.

04-19-2006, 12:01 PM
Jack went to Oliver who was still in the med-bay. "Think you'll be able to walk to the common room by yourself?"

04-19-2006, 02:11 PM
"Yes, the antidote has helped me well. Thank you for the offer" Oliver standed up, and walked to the common room. He didn't have a clue, what was gonna happened.

04-19-2006, 02:50 PM
"I hadn't offered anything" Said Jack as he followed Oliver to the common room "Any idea what your going to do when you meet your brother. If you need anyone to punch, kick or grap, I'm here for you"

04-19-2006, 03:05 PM
"It's not gonna be violent. I hope - but hey - my brother won't touch me. He is too - nice, if you understand me".

04-19-2006, 03:27 PM
"Of corse he wouldn't touch you. We allready know he perfers to poisen you from a long distance."Jack said sarcastically.

04-20-2006, 08:33 PM
"Hey, Beryl," Jana said cheerfully, poking her head into Beryl's room and looking around, missing Beryl at first glance. "Just so you know, it sounds like..." She trailed off, suddenly catching sight of Beryl. A disbelieving smile came to her face. "Whoa..."

She came completely into the room. "A dress, Beryl?" she laughed. "I figured you'd have disguised yourself, but..." She shook her head, clearly amused. "You clean up very well, I must say."

Beryl gave her a curious look. "You've seen me in a dress before, haven't you? Granted, never one this... revealing, but I do wear them on occassion." She snapped her fingers. "I wore one to that club on Regis Fi... no, wait. That was when I was on the Averessan. Oh! What about that day at the swoop races on...." She frowned. "No, that was when you and Nic were gone those couple of days." She shrugged. "Nevermind. Point is that I didn't have much of a choice but to wear this. My own clothes kind of got... well, shredded."

She motioned for Jana to shut the door so that she could get start getting changed. "I met up with one of those Tusk Cats on the way to the ship," she said to Jana, not knowing that Jana already knew about her encounter. "Totally caught me by surprise. I don't really know how I made it out of its den alive, but I ended up sacrificing my Krayt Dragon jacket in the process." She sighed. "Damn. I liked that jacket, too."

Having now changed into clean trousers, tank top, and shirt, she picked up the flimsy green dress and hung it on a hanger. "Suppose it's not that bad," she said, examining it before hanging on the closet rail. "Just not my style, if you know what I mean. Although, it worked great on that nobleman in the casino." She grinned. "Ryshana and I fleeced him for thousands at the Stud Pazaak table."

She shut the closet door, then turned and gave Jana a serious look. "Now, since we're alone, care to tell me what's going on with you? Why you've been so... dare I even say it, moody and quiet?"

"All crew to the common room...," Nic's voice came over the com. "We have a job."

Beryl sighed. "Great," she grumbled. "And how much you want to bet it's something that Imp captain in that Dreadnaught doesn't want to do himself because it's either dangerous, illegal, or both." She paused a moment. "Either way, we need to get moving. Ryshana's out retrieving the Headhunter and Jack needs to get the Echo into the air for her to land in the drop-down bay."

04-20-2006, 09:13 PM
"I ran into the Tusk Cats too," Jana said, showing off the long scrape on her left arm and the bite marks on her leg. "Limping a bit now, but I should be alright."

She turned to open the door, but turned back. "Oh, you might want this back," she said holding out Beryl's TCTA medallion. Opening the door, she stepped out and said, "We'll talk later, maybe."

Then, she headed for the common room.

04-20-2006, 10:12 PM
"Ooh, ouch!" Beryl said, as she noticed Jana's wounds. "I've got some, too. But... they're not exactly in a place I want to show you," she added with a quick smile.

As Jana handed her the medallion, Beryl smiled. "Thanks," Beryl said, smiling as she held it in her hand. "Thought this was gone forever. Thanks!"

She followed Jana to the common room.

04-21-2006, 04:53 PM
Cloud heard the message and started toward the common room. He soon started thinking about his old friend Raiden. He last heard he was persuing a career in politics.

04-22-2006, 11:17 AM
((with the exception of ryshana i'll presume everyone in in the common room.))

Nic looked around the room and was obviously not too happy about their current situation. "I'm going to spell everything out so please, no interruptions. Our imperial," Nic paused and took a deep breath "'Friend' up there has given us an altermatum, do a job or get burried under blaster fire, i don't know about you but i don't much feel like being barbiqued today."

"The Job is a to find a Ship known as the Rhea, It's an old republic research ship. According to the Imp commander only one man knows it's location, an imperial Moff by the name of John Butcher." Nic paused for a few seconds

"He is the Imperial moff incharge of half the outer rim including Naboo, geonosis and Tatooine. Now how i would normally handle this kind of thing would involve me and Jana breaking in and beatin' the guy 'til he talks. Unfortunetly the Imp would prefer a more subtle approach."

"We're going to have to grift this one, con our way into his confidance, and as they say the best way to a mans heart is through his stomach. From what i managed to find out the Moff is holding a weekend retreat, We have been invited, thanks to the Imperial. I will pose as the head of a Company that owns farms on over 50 planets. I'll try to get the information by using my devilish charm." Nic said with a large smile and looked at Beryl.

"Beryl i hope you kept that dress, You scrub up well and you're my new wife. Ryshana and Jana will all so be joining us as my servents dash bodyguards." Nic turned to Jack.

"Jack. You, cloud and oliver need to find out everything you can about this Moff and our 'Employer'. I like to know who my mark is and who i'm working for!" Nic tured to address the group "Is this clear?"

04-22-2006, 11:36 AM
"Clear up until the words 'dress' and 'wife,'" Beryl said, her eyes beginning to narrow. "Because I know I didn't hear what I thought I heard."

Nic's expression didn't change.

"Oh, c'mon Nic! You can't be serious!" Beryl complained. She crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm not wearing that dress," she said reluctantly. "I look like a... well, you know what I look like in it." She shook her head. "Unh-unh. No way."

((OOC: Nic is going to have to put his foot down harder to get Beryl to do what he wants. ;) She'll give in eventually, but he has to be tougher with her. Perhaps a sparring match? Or...threaten to ground her from the Headhunter? ))

04-22-2006, 01:50 PM
"Okay but we may need to hack in the Moffs computer. I'm great at hacking, I've even made a cool little hacking program on this disk" He handed a UMD disk "Just put this thing into a computer consel at his estate or wherever you are, run the program and my computer should get all the data from that computer and others that are connected.

04-22-2006, 02:05 PM
"O.K Jack, get us in the air and let Ry dock." Nic turned back to Beryl. "You will where that dress and be wife or you'll find out why i get the hanger hands to clean out our plumbing system."

04-22-2006, 03:42 PM
"Right away ,Captain" He said and walked past Nick and wispered 'Threats like that aren't going to work'. He then walked too the poilts seat. "Personally captain but I alwase thought the Jedi was more your type" He shouted down there.

He made the ship liftoff from the grounds and hovered higher into the air, he then comm Ryshana "Allright jedi. I'm opening the doors, come on in."

04-22-2006, 04:05 PM
Ryshana quickly and expertly maneuvered the Headhunter into position underneath the Echo. As the doors opened to the cargo hold, Ryshana carefully boosted power to the repulserlifts and raised the Headhunter into the bay. Feeling around the outside of the Headhunter, Ryshana was very careful not to hit anything as she hovered inside of the bay.

As the bay doors closed beneath the Headhunter, Ryshana carefully made sure the repulserlifts didn't suddenly pick up the closing doors and push the Headhunter into the ceiling of the bay. Whenever the doors closed, Ryshana then carefully landed the Headhunter and activated the docking locks. Opening the hatch, Ryshana jumped out.

"Hey!! Aren't you forgetting something??" the Imperial Officer called out from his spot underneath the Headhunter. Looking over at the man, Ryshana knelt down next to him. "Hmm, nope. I don't think I'm forgetting anything. Those straps look like they'll hold you in nice in tight until we let you down," Ryshana replied with a bit of sarcasm.

As she turned and walked up the ramp towards the ladder, the officer kept yelling out after her. Ignoring him, Ryshana headed up the ladder to the common room. Catching sight of everybody in the common room, minus Jack, Ryshana knew that something had come up. "So, did I miss anything?"

04-22-2006, 04:12 PM
"Why is there an imperal officer in our Airlock?" Jack shouted out "And do we need him alive?"

04-22-2006, 04:28 PM
"Well, that depends. Do we need him?? I won't let you kill him, though. Remember that," Ryshana replied.

04-22-2006, 04:48 PM
"What if I drop him in the ocean?"He shouted back "Theres only a 25% chance he'll die..."
"or is 25% chance he'll live?" Jack asked himself.

04-22-2006, 05:37 PM
((OCC- Steven is Jack omnipresent or somthing as he seems to be everywhere and knows everything thats going on in the ship?))

"So, did I miss anything?"

"We have a job and me, you, Jana and Beryl are going undercover."

"What if I drop him in the ocean?"He shouted back "Theres only a 25% chance he'll die..."
"or is 25% chance he'll live?" Jack asked himself.

"If you drop him you'll be following him." Nic said to remind the old man who the ships captain was. He then turned back to Ryshana. "now why do we have an Imp on my ship."

04-22-2006, 05:59 PM
"You know captain,it's bad luck threatening the piolt. Esspically when he's old, doesn't give a dam about his own life and when he's piolt." Joked Jack. "Our imperal friends are hailing us. I suspect they'll want to talk with you captain."

04-22-2006, 06:05 PM
"Maybe Ryshana brought the Imp along for entertainment value," Beryl suggested to Nic, her arms still crossed tightly over her chest. "Maybe he could wear the dress and pretend to be your wife. 'Cause I'll be busy cleaning the plumbing systems."

04-22-2006, 06:21 PM
"O.K Beryl if you don't think you're up to it, I understand, You don't think you will be able to fool anyone. I've played pazzack with you i know you can't hide it when you think you're up on someone." Nic said in an attempt to Coax her into doing it.

04-22-2006, 06:40 PM
"What do you mean, 'I can't hide it when I'm up?'" Beryl said to Nic, frowning slightly. "I can. You know I can." She eyed him over, but his expression never wavered. Not even his telltale eyebrow twitch he usually did when he was bluffing. "What? You really don't think I could pull off your little scam?"

Nic shrugged with indifference.

"Fine. I'll show you!" Beryl said, standing abruptly and leaving the common room.

In a moment, she was back, wearing not only the short green dress and high heeled shoes and necklace, but a smart looking jacket, earrings and a bit of light makeup as well. "There," she said to Nic. "Satisfied? 'Wifey' enough for you?"

04-22-2006, 10:18 PM
"What?? You mean you're not up for me wiping out his memory and sticking him in some random prison complex somewhere?? Besides, he knows far too much for us to just let him go. If worse comes to worse, we could always use him as a bargaining chip," Ryshana replied.

As she watched the exchange between Nic and Beryl, Ryshana already knew what the outcome would be. Whenever Beryl returned in her outfit, Ryshana smiled. "You know, the 'wifey' thing to do now would be for Nic to take you into his arms and carry you over the threshold into his cozy little room. Now wouldn't that be just the right thing to do as the 'groom', eh Nic?" Ryshana stated sarcastically.

04-23-2006, 04:42 AM
Oliver still sits in the coomon room. He is in his own thoughts - and he didn't look like one, who actually listened to Nic. He just stares on the wall. All the morder attempt and the connection to the brothers is still hanging in his head.

04-23-2006, 08:41 AM
Beryl gave a sideways look at Ryshana, and then one at Nic. "If Nic trys something like that, I'm filing for divorce."

She sighed with resignation. "Let's just get this over with," she said to Nic. "Go and find out what that idiot Imp Captain wants and let's just get on with it."

04-23-2006, 12:47 PM
Nic did a lazy salute at Beryl "Yes Mam."

Nic then walked into the Bridge and pressed the Comm button. "What do you want Captain?"

04-23-2006, 03:20 PM
"A warning for the current Mrs. White from one who's played the part more times than she can count," Jana said to Beryl. "At some point during this little play, your 'husband' is going to do something that deserves a good solid punch. During the play, relax, let it pass. When it's all over, punch him. Hard."

She smiled slightly. "Got it? And don't worry about Nic getting mad at you. He's far too used to me doing that to him... you'll get an 'ouch' and a funny look. Nothing more."

04-23-2006, 03:58 PM
This time, Beryl gave Jana 'a deadpan look. "Oh. Great. Thanks for that, Jana. I feel so much more confident about doing this now."

She sighed and hung her head. "Why do I get the feeling that I'm going to regret this?" She looked up at Ryshana and Jana in turn. "You're going to have to help me with this," she said, suddenly feeling unsure about whether she could pull it off. "A lot."

04-23-2006, 07:18 PM
"Not a problem, although I don't think anybody has pointed out who I'm supposed to be posing as..."

04-23-2006, 07:27 PM
"We're slaves doubling as bodyguards," Jana told Ryshana. "You 'n me both."

04-23-2006, 07:27 PM
Beryl snorted. "Oh, I thought you and Ryshana were supposed to be servants. Or staff. Or some sort of employees of 'Mr. White.'" She paused. "Still, 'slave' sounds like a better deal than 'wife' though," she added, rolling her eyes. "Sure he'll fill us all in on the details when he gets back from chatting with our friendly neighbourhood Imperial Dreadnaught Captain."

04-23-2006, 07:32 PM
"Well I did say slaves," Jana answered. "But as neither Ryshana nor I look like a submissive slave, I suspect we'll go the bodyguard route."

With an impish grin, she went on, "Don't worry, Mrs. White," she teased. "I may let you take a blaster shot, but I've seen enough of those in my day to know how to treat them... crudely. It may get infected..."

04-23-2006, 07:47 PM
"Wait, wait, wait, wait.... Blaster shot?" Beryl stared at Jana for a moment. Beryl had never played a major role in one of Nic's scams, but she didn't feel that Jana was pulling her leg--well, not completely anyway. And now she was beginning to worry. "Is that something that happens often in Nic's scams? Getting shot?"

04-23-2006, 07:53 PM
Jana laughed. "Getting shot at almost always happens," she said. "Getting hit isn't quite so common... but you've got nothing to worry about. If it happens, that's what we've got a doctor for, right?"

04-23-2006, 08:06 PM
Beryl raised an eyebrow, and slowly turned her head towards Oliver, who seemed to just be staring blankly out into space, obviously deep in thought.

"Yeah. Right," Beryl said uncertainly.

04-23-2006, 09:50 PM
"Doctor?? No offense to Oliver, but who needs a doctor when you have the Force?? I do have a limited ability to heal others of whatever wounds they recieve. Its not perfect, but I wouldn't worry quite so much if you get shot at," Ryshana stated to Beryl.

Pausing for a second, Ryshana then turned to Jana. "You know, if we're supposed to be bodyguards, I'm going to need a weapon. I wouldn't mind using my lightsaber, but I don't think that will go over too well in a Moff's palace."

04-24-2006, 05:22 PM
Cloud snickered at the thought of Nic and Beryl being together. It really wouldn't fit. Cloud then thought about his friend Raiden again. "Why am I thinking about him now?" thought Cloud. "Maybe he has a job we could get later on." he continued to think.

(Hint hint: Reference to plot for my story.)

04-24-2006, 05:37 PM
"Mr and Mrs White, we have Mr. Butcher on the line. He wished to speak to your about you and your company, the one that deals in food transportation, the one called White Inderstrys, the same one you took over from your father after he was killed by smugglers. Are you ready for us to patch him through?"

04-24-2006, 05:47 PM
"We'll find something suitable for a bodyguard, Shana," Jana said, smiling. The smile faded slightly. "You don't mind being called Shana, do you? Just a little easier on the tongue, you know..."

04-24-2006, 11:07 PM
"Not a problem. It's a good thing I don't insist on my full twi'leki name with the correct pronunciation then," Ryshana replied with a smile.

04-25-2006, 07:28 AM
"As i'll ever be." Nic said into the com as he straitened up his hair so he would like more like a business men from the inner rim and less like a vagrant from the outter rim.

04-28-2006, 01:22 PM
"Greetings Mr. White. It's a pleasure to speak with you. Mr. Vockcell speaks highly of you and your company." Said a loud, erritating voice.
Jack mouthed to Nic "I bet your 100 credits he's as fat as a hutt!"
"Funny I've never heard of it. How long have you been in the bibusiness?"

04-28-2006, 04:41 PM
Nic was not the best at thinking on his feet usually but when he had a Con job he often changed and for some reason became quick. "We'll quite a while now but we've tended to deal with smaller companies." Nic replied. "I wish to thank you for your invite to your retreat."

04-28-2006, 05:17 PM
"It's my pleasure. I've alwased enjoyed the company of succesfull bussiness men like myself. We know how to successed in life. Unlike those small minded mercinaries or bounty hunters. They serve no perpous expect to serve people like us, they're like minions with a salary. I am sending you the location of my ressort. It's located on Correlia"

"Getting the location know, Sir." Reported Jack "I'm doing to quick search. Woah... Captain, your heading to one of the best resorts in the galaxy. Ever heard of the Twingeling Twi'Leks?"

04-29-2006, 03:22 PM
"We have received your co-ordinates and will be there tomorrow. Now if you will excuse me i have important business to deal with. Good day sir." Nic switched off the com and stood up.
"Set a course Jack. Max speed."

Nic walked out of the Cockpit and back into the common room. "Beryl, You may want to start packing all your nicest close, We've got a party to get ready for."

04-29-2006, 03:33 PM
Beryl sighed, indicating her displeasure. But as Nic was the captain...

"Why do I get the feeling that I will so regret this later," she said under her breath.

She smiled at Nic, quick and cynically. "So, Captain, where is this place that we're going to?" Beryl asked him. "And how long are we staying? After all, a girl has to know what and how much to pack."

04-29-2006, 03:38 PM
"two days, maybe three, It's on corellia although we'll only be there as long as it takes to get the info. I want to be out of there as soon as, so please, be nice to the rich people." Nic said with a worried look on his face.

04-29-2006, 03:40 PM
"Corellia?" Beryl frowned a bit. "This place where these so-called 'rich' people are going to be. What's it called?"

04-29-2006, 03:41 PM
"The Twingeling Twi'Leks" Nic said obviouly unaware of what the place was. "We'll be there in a day so we have plenty of time to find out about it."

04-29-2006, 04:45 PM
"The Twingeling Twi'Leks?" Beryl said. "The Twingleing Twi'Leks?" Beryl let out a low whistle. "I've been there. It's nice. Very nice." Then she frowned slightly. "Only hope no one recognises me though. Think it would be hard for someone to believe that I married a... well, that you're a..." She sighed. "No offense, Nic, but... you're just not my type." She gave him a quick, but weak smile. "But, you are the Captain. So I'll try."

She rose to head for her room to pack and get some much needed rest.

05-01-2006, 10:32 AM
Nic wathed Beryl leave the room "Not her type." Nic chuckled to himself "Well on resent events she does seem to prefer imperials."

05-01-2006, 12:27 PM
Oliver didn't look on all the people who came and leaved the room. He was in his own thoughts. When he woke up, he was Beryl leaved the room, and Oliver did the same. "I must go to bed" he thougt to himself. He haden't listen to the talk about the mission, so he didn't knew anything about his job.

05-06-2006, 07:19 AM
2 days later...

The Twingeling Twi'Leks ballroom was fulll of elegantly dressed men and women, waiters walked around the room handing out the most expensive drinks and finger foods. Tables scattered around the edge were full of the richest sentiants (mainly humans) in the galaxy while others danced in the middle near a orchestra on a stage be the back wall. The room was filled with music and the sound of peoples conversation.

The Band then went quiet and an announcer took to the stage mic.

"Introducing Mr and Lady White." The man said holding his hand out to the staircase that led to the entrance.

Nic stood at the top alone wearing a fashonible suit that appeared to be from the most expensive designer on corellia (although it was a fake). Nic looked over to behind the door. and whispured behind it.

"Now is not the time to be shy... Honey."

((Occ- nics talking to beryl who is hiding behind the door incase you didn't get that.))

05-06-2006, 07:42 AM
Jack sat at his usuall seat infront of the piolt consel however he had a different program to his piolting one. He had loaded up a hacker program which, as soon as Nick was able to place Jacks Disc into a computer, would give him access to very bit of information that was on the the harddive or any hard-drive that is connected to it.

05-06-2006, 09:20 AM
Ryshana calmly looked around as she stood beside Beryl. Ryshana had decided earlier that it would be best to be primarily assigned to Beryl in case her and Nic decided to split up. Besides, Jana would be better to accompany Nic since they had worked together for so long.

05-06-2006, 09:23 AM
((OOC: I got it, but thanks. ;) ))

Thankfully hidden from view from the rest of the ballroom guests, Beryl glared hard at Nic. "Oh, the things I do for you..." she growled softly at him.

She checked her reflection in the grandiose mirror in the spacious hallway they were standing in. Not that she would have ever dreamed she would have had a chance to wear it while she was with the Echo, Beryl wore a different dress tonight than the one that Penni had given her. An impulse buy from her last visit to Coruscant, it was made of a soft blue velvet with embroidered details along the cuffs and edges of the dropped neckline. With manicured nails, makeup, jewelry, and high-heeled shoes, she looked every bit the high society woman.

Satisfied with her appearance, Beryl then smiled--the same sort of smile she had used at the Debutante Ball her father had forced her to go to when she was a teenager. "Coming...darling," she said, as she entwined her arm around Nic's. "I thought our aim was to make a good impression?" she asked quietly between clenched teeth as they started slowly down the stairs. "Timing is everything in high society. Make your entrance too fast or too early, and you appear too eager to please. Too slow or too late, and you're a snob."

She gave him a quick sideways glance. "I may be a pilot, but my family is rich, remember? I'm not a stranger to places like this. I just don't like them."

05-06-2006, 09:38 AM
As Nic and Beryl walked down the stairs arm in arm Nic Smiled at the people who were looking at them "That may be the case, but we still have a Job to do." Nic said though his teeth.

Nic looked around the room and managed to see the Moff, he was sitting at a table and as the imperial captain described he was eating a feast by himself. "There's our Guy, Remember be nice."

05-06-2006, 03:50 PM
"Nice?" Beryl raised an eyebrow. "Of course I'll be nice. Nice as...." She paused for a moment. She couldn't think of anything that both she and an Imperial Moff would think was nice. "Erm...will you settle for polite instead?"

05-06-2006, 04:00 PM
Nic Continued to lead up to the moff and they stopped a few foot infront of him, the man looked up them and smiled. "You must be White" the old man said smiling then turning to Beryl and sinisterly smiled. "and you must be lady White."

"Yes we are the Whites."

05-06-2006, 04:48 PM
Oh, so that's how it's going to be, Beryl thought to herself as she took in the Moff's leering grin. Okay... here goes nothing...

Beryl smiled at the Moff, in a most charming way. "And you must be Moff John Bishop?" She bowed her head, then held out her hand to him, palm down and feminine. "It's a pleasure to meet you, my lord. You have a very lovely place here."

She gave a quick look over her shoulder to Ryshana, who was standing a few feet behind her. "Get us a drink, will you?" she said, rather condecendingly to her. "Membrosia for me, and a Cassandran Brandy for Mr. White." Then she waved her hand at Ryshana in a gesture to hurry off. "It's so difficult these days to find good help," she said, to Butcher. "How ever do you manage it?"

05-06-2006, 11:06 PM
Knowing that she had to play the part, Ryshana bowed lightly to Beryl and left to retrieve the drinks. At the same time, Ryshana instinctively began to feel around her for potential threats. Several Imperial soldiers were present as the local security force. They weren't Stormtroopers, but Ryshana could feel the presence of almost a full legion of troopers stationed nearby. The soldiers that were at the party were dressed in their black dress uniforms, and they were closely watching the party guests, although it was fairly well concealed.

Arriving at the bar, Ryshana ordered the drinks from the bartender and placed them on a tray to carry them to Nic and Jana.

05-07-2006, 08:47 AM
Nic smiled at the moff although he was really disgusted by what he was looking at, the man was pig, he had virtually no table manner or any kind of manner at all, The Moff just stared at beryl.Nic was also surprised by how Beryl was acting he had always knwn beryl was born into money, she was quite open about without being snobish. Nic thought she was simply throwing herself into the role she had been given for the job.

"So Mr White." The greedy Moff started "I Hope you'll enjoy your stay here."

"I'm sure it will be most informative." Nic said as the music changed to a differant tune. The moff smiled and Nic saw him eye up Beryl knowing he was about to ask her for a dance. Although Nic often liked to 'torture' his crew by making them do stuff like this all for the job, he decided that would be too much and spoke up before the Moff could. "If you'll excuse me i promised my darling wife a Dance."

Nic led Beryl to the dance floor and got into a danceing position.

((occ- If beryl can ask what our plan of action is or somthing along those lines while she and nic dance it would be useful.))

As Nic led her away to the dance floor, Beryl let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you,” she whispered to him, grateful that he hadn’t made her dance with the Moff. Although, truth be told, it was strange to slow dance with Nic. To her obvious surprise, he was a very good dancer.

"Sparring," she told herself, so she wouldn’t appear to be as uncomfortable as she felt. "Just think of it like sparring. Not dancing, just sparring."

“So, what exactly is your plan?” she asked, leaning in closer to his ear. “Because, if you want me to dance with that….” Nic spun her away, then whirled her back. “That slug,” she continued, without missing a beat, “it better be for a damn good reason.” Another couple passed close to them. “Darling,” she added, so as not to blow their cover.

From the sidelines, Jana watched, standing next to Ryshana. "Cute picture they make, huh?" she said quietly, her voice low so only Ryshana heard. "Playing their parts well enough, I'd say..."

She allowed her mind to wander, but her eyes never left 'Mr. and Mrs. White'. When she allowed herself to think about the situation, she reluctantly admitted that she was jealous of Beryl. While she could pretend and joke that she hated play-acting as Nic's wife, it simply wasn't true. She frowned. Why had Nic decided to make Beryl his wife for this mission? Any other time Jana could remember, that place had been hers. Why the change now?

Emotions began to build, but as quickly as Jana became aware of them, she surpressed them. They were on the job, one of the worst places possible to mess up. If needed, she'd give Nic a beating... when possible. "He never danced with me," she murmured, watching the pair. Then, she winced as Nic accidentally stepped on Beryl's foot. "Maybe I should be glad..."

05-08-2006, 08:44 AM
Nic continued dancing with beryl while looking around the room. "This party ends in three hours, When every-one is in their rooms sleeping me and you are going to break into 'the slug's' office, While we do that Jana and ryshana are going to break into the security room and make sure we ain't detected." Nic spun beryl and pointed her in the direction of an imperial officer. "That imp there has the access card to get into the moffs office, If you can pick it our job will be much easier." He spun her back. "when we're in the moths room we'll load the programme hat'll alow Jack to access it. Jana and Ryshana will also have to access the comm bunker to ensure the Comm signal is discreetly transmitted to the Echo."

05-08-2006, 07:06 PM
Beryl gave Nic an unsure look as the music tempo changed to a slightly faster beat. “Nic, you and Jana might have experience in the ‘undetectable art of picking’, but I’ve never ‘picked’ anything from anyone,” she said, as Nic guided her across to the other side of the dance floor, closer to where the Imperial Officer was standing as he talked to some of his buddies. “It’s not like bluffing during a game of Pazaak. I’m not sure I can get close enough to him to….” She took in a surprised breath as Nic suddenly dipped her. “…do it.”

Dipping? This has got to be a ‘thumpable’ offence, Beryl thought, as Nic lifted her up again.

She was just about to say something about it to Nic, when he dipped her again, and this time, albeit upside-down, she saw the reason why. They had caught the Imperial Officer’s eye. Or rather, her low-cut neckline had.

“Oh, no,” she said, shaking her head just a little bit as Nic grinned and raised her up again, only to spin her out and then back again. “I admit he’s not as bad as our ‘host,’” she whispered, “ but… oh, no… please…”

“May I cut in?” She heard a male voice ask Nic from behind her, and she cringed slightly as she waited for Nic’s answer.

05-09-2006, 08:50 AM
Nic smiled at the imperial officer and stood back. "No, not at all." Nic said as he winked at Beryl and walked off towards Jana and Ryshana.

05-09-2006, 09:28 AM
Ryshana had to hold back a quick smile as she felt Beryl's uneasiness with the Imperial Officer. As Nic walked over, Ryshana switched back into her playacting mode.

"Your drink, sir?" Ryshana asked as she moved the tray in front of hiim.

05-09-2006, 09:42 AM
Oliver sat near the bar. He tried to keep an eye on the hole situation, while he tried to look like one, who was at a party. He looked at some girls, but he wasen't that interested. The girls was niether interested in him. "Next time - i should take the yellow tie, not the pink one"

05-09-2006, 12:44 PM
"Thanks Ryshana." Nic replied taking the drink. He looked around to make sure no one was ears-droping. "The servent's quarters are downstairs in the basement, So is the Security control room. Me and Beryl will begin our cloak & dagger as soom as the party ends, I hope you two can ensure we won't run into any problems."

05-09-2006, 12:48 PM
"As you wish, sir. We'll take care of everything," Ryshana replied.

05-10-2006, 09:08 AM
Beryl didn’t like him, this Imperial Officer with the card key to the Moff’s office. It wasn’t his lack of interesting conversational topics, nor the fact that he had bad breath, or even the fact that he had already stepped on her toes six times in the three minutes that she’d been handed off by Nic to dance with him. It was the fact that he had ‘wandering hands.’

“…could be worse places to be stationed,” the Officer continued rambling, as his wandering hand took to wandering again. “Like Kashyyyk, for instance. Hot, humid, and nothing but trees. But then again, it’s pretty isolated. You probably haven’t ever heard of it.”

For what seemed like the tenth time, Beryl laid her hand over his and repositioned it to the small of her back, not the middle of her …

“Assuming a bit much, aren’t you?” she asked, glaring at him. “I’m very well educated.”

The Officer smiled. “I knew that,” he said. “Could tell the first moment I saw you.”

Beryl gave him a quick smile, then looked down.

“A bit reserved I reckon, too,” he observed, taking her downwards glance as an indication of shyness.

Actually, Beryl was trying to see if he had any inside pocket in his jacket. She had had time to lightly pat down his outer pockets while dancing, but so far she hadn’t found anything like a key card for a door.

“Oh, I don’t know about that,” she said, finally spotting what looked like the edge of a plastic card just sticking out of the right inside pocket. “I like a bit of excitement sometimes.” She glanced over at Nic. “The thrill of the unexpected dip, now and then.”

As if on cue, the Officer dipped her. And with his eyes firmly focused on hers, and his jacket hanging open, she snatched the card out of his pocket and palmed it in her left hand.

And as he raised her up, his ‘wandering hand’ wandered a bit too far again, and this time, instead of just moving his hand, she slapped him across the face with her right hand.

“How dare you take liberties with me like that!” she said angrily. “I’m willing to tolerate a certain amount of uncouth behaviour, but that is quite enough! No one ‘dips’ me but my husband!”

And with that said, she left the officer gobsmacked in the middle of the dance floor and headed towards Nic, Ryshana and Jana, with the card discreetly in hand.

05-10-2006, 09:25 AM
As Ryshana watched the dancing unfold between the Beryl and the officer, Ryshana knew she didn't like it. Finally, Beryl had spotted the security card. After the quick dip and the subsequent smack by Beryl, Ryshana quickly handed off the tray with Beryl's drink to Jana as she noticed the officer glaring at Ryshana. Then, he started walking over to them.

Ryshana quickly intercepted the man and held him off. "Excuse me sir, but you'll have to be leaving this particular area," Ryshana stated firmly.

"Oh shove off," he stated as he tried to move past Ryshana.

"Excuse me sir, but my lady has already expressed that she does not want to be around you. It's reason enough for me," she replied as she moved to block his path.

Stepping back, the man was obviously a bit angry. "You haven't seen the last of me," the man stated. Although he had tried to sound a bit ominous, it was difficult to believe him since it was readily apparent that he had been hitting the wine a bit hard.

Returning to the rest of the group, Ryshana retrieved the tray from Jana. "Your drink, madam?"

05-10-2006, 02:03 PM
Before beryl could grab the drink, Nic took it and placed it out of her reach. "You need to be sober for tonight, and you've already had enougth." Nic stated as he held out his hand and waved it in a 'give it to me way'. "But good job, you did it like a Pro."

05-10-2006, 03:38 PM
Beryl raised an eyebrow at Nic as he took her Membrosia, but didn't complain. "You know, darling, I think I'll stick to being a 'pro' pilot, if you don't mind," she said quietly, as she slipped the card into Nic's jacket pocket, having no pocket of her own in the evening dress she was wearing. "And leave the groping to the professional... whatevers."

She glared at the Officer, who, even though he was across the room, was still making threatening gestures on his way out. "What a skrag," she said, and she shivered with disgust. "It's men like that that make me wish I had worn an attack stohl tonight. His hands certainly wouldn't have been wandering so freely if I'd had one of those around my neck."

She looked at Nic. "So, dear, can we leave now, or do we have to check in again with our esteemed, but disgusting, host?"

05-10-2006, 04:08 PM
Nic looked around. "We can leave now sugar." He said then looked at Jana. "wait two hours before we begin our plan.

Nic then stepped closer to beryl and held his arm out for beryl to rap hers around. "Let's keep up appearances."

05-10-2006, 05:15 PM
"Fine," Beryl said, grabbing hold of Nic's arm to allow him to escort her out. "As long as you keep your hands to yourself," she added quietly.

05-11-2006, 12:47 PM
Nic led Beryl out of the Ballroom and took her to the Elevator, When they reached there floor he them headed strait for the room they had been given. Nic opened the door then shut it behind them, The room was grand with a singal King size bed and various peices of art scattered around the room.

Nic looked down and smiled at Beryl. "so... Left side or Right side."

05-11-2006, 05:13 PM
Beryl slowly raised an eyebrow at Nic’s question, but decided not to answer him right away. Instead, she walked further into the room, surveying things carefully as she went.

The paintings were very nice. So were the gold-plated taps on the refresher. And the hand-embroidered bedspread. In fact, the whole room was well thought out in every detail. Including, the surveillance camera she had just discovered.

“Darling, I believe this might be an original,” Beryl said, keeping in character, as she moved closer to the dressing table while appearing to examine the picture that hung on the wall next to it. “Come take a look.” As he approached, she nonchalantly tapped a manicured fingernail near a small lamp on the table—where, if one looked closely, there was a tiny camera lens disguised as a crystal decoration on the base of the lamp. She hoped that Nic would notice it without her having to blatantly point it out. Although, she was at a loss as to how they were going to damage or destroy it without making it look like they had done it on purpose.

“You know, our host really has outdone himself with the décor,” she said to Nic. “The attention to detail is amazing. Don’t you agree?”

05-12-2006, 02:17 PM
"Yes the Detail is Exquisite." Nic said as he walked towards one of his Cases the Valet had brought up. Nic opened it so it's contents could not be seen by The camera. Inside the case was Various cloths and equipment but nic only took one Box and poketed it. He then walked back over to Beryl and the Bug, He Discreetly placed the Box behind the camera then smiled at Beryl.

"They, can't Hear or see us now." Nic siad looking strait down the camera. "Say what you like about cloud, but he does make some vary useful gadgets. Currently the security are watching us having a blazeing row."

05-12-2006, 03:33 PM
“Good. I hope I win.” Beryl let out a long sigh of relief and sat down hard on the right side of the bed. “But, even if I don’t… thank you, Cloud,” she said, with a grateful look upwards. “I don’t think I would have lasted another minute at that party. I mean, I could hardly tell the difference between that Moff and a Gamorrean, and add ‘Officer Roving Hands’ to the mix and…. You know, I really could have used that Membrosia you stole from me.” Her look suddenly turned very serious. “I don’t think I can keep this charade up for much longer. No offence, Nic, but I’d much rather spar with you than dance. Not that you’re a bad dancer,” she added, “but, well, this whole husband and wife thing… it just feels… weird. Especially with Jana and her new ‘look.’ Did you see it? For a second there, I thought we were just going to burst into flames and turn into a pile of ash right there on the dance floor. Never seen that particular ‘look’ before, and I don’t want to see it again. At least, not aimed at me.”

She took a deep breath. “So,” she said, in a much lighter tone, “how long do we have to wait before we break into the Moff’s office, get what we came for, and get out of here?”

05-12-2006, 03:57 PM
Nic took a deep breath and sat down next to Beryl. "Unfortunitly, Once we have planted the programme we still need to hang around incase what we need isn't on the Console." Nic Laughed and stood up "Anyway you're doing a good job and don't worry about Jan she just has an Alpha femail Thing and doesn't like being put in the backseat."

Nic continued to walk over to his case again and took out two sets of black clothes and threw one to Beryl. "Put 'em on over what you're wearing, We may need to change quick."

05-13-2006, 08:51 AM
Beryl took the black trousers and the shirt Nic had given her, then looked down at her dress. As she began to hike it up so that she could put the trousers on, she paused, suddenly feeling shy.

"Well? Turn around," she told him, gesturing with her hand.

In a few moments, she was dressed entirely in black, her dress tucked neatly underneath. Even though it felt a bit bulky, Beryl felt better being more covered up. "Alright. You can turn around now. I'm ready." She looked at the clock on the nightstand. "You think Jana and Ryshana have taken care of the security yet?"

05-13-2006, 09:25 AM
Jana glanced at the time. "C'mon, Shana... time to go." She led the way out of the servants' quarters toward the security control room. As they approached the door, Jana turned again to Ryshana. "Now, remember," she said. "We're only shooting if we have to."

She held up a gas grenade. "Alright..." she murmured, approaching the door and taking out two breathing devices. She handed one to Ryshana and placed the other in her own mouth. Then, she walked up to the door and was preparing to hack the entry code when the door opened. Startled, Jana stood, finding herself face to face with a guard.

"What are you..." he began. Jana interrupted his surprise and curiosity by punching him in the face. Hard. He flew backward into the room and Jana tossed her grenade inside, shutting the door behind it.

"Give it a few seconds and they'll all be unconscious," she said.

05-13-2006, 09:33 AM
Ryshana followed Jana down the hall to the security room. Ryshana smiled as she took the breather, but it quickly faded as Jana was about to start hacking the keypad as she felt somebody approaching. She started to pull Jana away from the console and the door, but it was too late.

After the takedown, Ryshana quickly put on her own breather as they waited for the minutes to go by.

05-13-2006, 12:58 PM
"Well if they haven't this is going to be one short trip."
After turning back Nic smiled at Beryl and took a pack out of the case, he strapped it to his back then walked over to the window and opened he quickly looked down the building, They were about 15 stories up. Nic proceeded to look to the left and then to the right, he saw a small fire escape and smiled. Looking up he noticed their was another five stories up.

"Let's go." Nic said as he moved out of the window and over to the fire escape.

05-13-2006, 01:38 PM
Beryl peered out the window, then looked down at her high heels, then gave a deadpan look at Nic. "Erm... did I miss a briefing? I don't remember anything about scrambling up fire escapes fifteen floors above the ground in high heels." She paused a moment. "Mmm...no. Definitely don't remember that."

She wasn't afraid of heights, but she was afraid of slipping and falling. And it was a long way down. Thinking for a moment, she took off her shoes, and fastened the ankle straps around the belt loop of the pants she was wearing. "Just... please, be careful not to shoot any glass," she said to him, and she followed him out the window and onto the fire escape in her bare feet. "I take it we're going up?"

05-13-2006, 01:46 PM
Nic smiled "You're a mind reader Beryl." Nic said as he bean to climb up to the top of the fire escape up to the room. Nic reached the top and turned around and held his hand out for beryl.

05-13-2006, 02:05 PM
With Nic's help Beryl hoisted herself up onto the fire escape landing. "And I thought I was a risk taker," she murmured, looking down once more before shaking her head. "Now what?" she asked, beginning to shiver from the cold wind blowing, as they were so high up. "What's the plan to get inside?"

05-14-2006, 01:19 PM
"Now, in," Jana murmured around the breather. She keyed open the door and stepped in through the cloud of thick gas inside. Once inside, she moved over to a console and told Ryshana, "You concentrate on deactivating the security locks. I'll handle the cameras."

In about five minutes, Jana set the security cameras to play back the events of the day before. "Done," she said, leaning back in the chair and watching as the gas cloud began dissipating into the vents and out the open door.

05-14-2006, 02:01 PM
Nic began to walk toward the other side of the builsding and laced his pack on the floor, He opened it and took out a metal spike and a hammer. "We're going in through the window." He explained before hitting the spike into the rooftop. "There'll be guards outside the door in so even with the system down we still need to be quiet."

Nic took out a rope and tied one end to the Spike and held the other out towards Beryl. "Make sure it's on you tight, we don't want you to fall."

05-14-2006, 03:21 PM
“I’m going first?” Beryl asked, as she secured the rope around her waist, and then double checked her knot. She looked backward over her shoulder at the window ledge that was their target. “Is the window unlocked, or am I going to need a glass cutter or something?” She paused, a bit unsure. “And, if I’m down there, who’s holding the slack up for you up here on the way down?”

05-14-2006, 03:32 PM
Nic looked at Beryl and smild. "Who said i was going down. I'm going to lower you down." Nic reached back into his pack and took out a small handheld computer interface tool and handed it to beryl. "If Ry and shortstuff have done their job the locks should be down and you can pull the door open. once in, all you have to do is attach that to the console and install the programme. Then i'll pull you up."
