View Full Version : Idiotic Teachers

I don't know if this happened or happens to any of you, but my teachers are the dumbest people around. When I first got into highschool I thought I will no longer have to color anything (besides for art)anymore, or do any other dumb projects. I have been proven extremly wrong. In the past three years, I have been coloring maps, and now my pysch teacher thinks it would be a good idea for everyone to make a colage (sp?) about themselves. All of a sudden I want to hurt my teacher for coming up with this idea.

I had to do some stupid artsy projects last year, but at leasy I got to say my teacher sucked in one of them(carefully concealed, of course).

My English teacher is a moron. He makes us write about the theme of a story we read(not helping us one bit, or even explaining anything in the story. He didn't even tell us Animal Farm had anything to do with Communisim!) tand then after we turn it in, he tells us that what HE though the theme was some little obscure thing that had no impact on anything whatsoever.

No way! When I was in 10th grade, we used to have to make these maps. I'd get C's on them all. I'd ask, "What did I do wrong? These lines and names are just right!" She'd say, "Your coloring is streaky." How freaking stupid. Almost every parent complained, but it never did any good.

It doesn't get any better in college or university, folks.

I have an English Prose teacher who sounds like the one Taarkin was just describing. Tells us to analyse a short story, but doesn't tell us anything about what kind of analysis he's looking for. One of those teachers for whom the only valid interpretation of literature is his own, if you disaggree, you're wrong.

I'm an English major (B.A. with Honours), and writing is my best subject (all my other teachers agree invariably). In his class, after 1 essay, he determined that I have no writing skills whatsoever and could barely compose a sentence! http://www.xwingalliance.com/forums/mad.gif

Fortunately, the final exam for his class is this Wednesday, so I'll be through with him.

"School" is where you learn to fit into a modern corporate society, to obey orders, to toe the party line, and to type out eight pages of gibberish on command. "Education" is what you do on your own time.

It is. I hate going from running the assylum to being the inmate.

Most places. I go to Texas Tech. I'm at the Health Sciences Center next semester (after transfering into the dept of biology). I do get a big tution waver going from out of state to instate status. I also get health insurance at ten bucks a month (not bad).

Grad school in the sciences isn't bad if you don't mind being an indentured servant for 5 years. I don't say slave, because they pay you, just not enough for any finacial freedom beyond rent, bills, and if you're lucky food.

We also learned keyboarding at 4th grade and that dint help much.

My Geom. teacher though it was a wonderful idea to give us 6 pages for homework when exams are only a week away. Several other teachers are trying to squeezed a whole extra chapter in before the exams too. The teachers don't give a **** about your health either. Neither my History or English teachers will let you get a drink even if you're coughing your head off or if your throat's raw. It's a communist-run tyrranical dicatorship.

You want to hear a school horror story, listen up.

When I was choosing courses for my first semesters of university, I had the chance to take an SF Writing course (my specialty). I decided not too (I'll take it next year) because it was only offered in one time slot (unlike many other courses), and I'd have to sprint from one end of campus to the other in under ten minutes.

Because of classes being shuffled around, I still had to sprint from one end of campus to the other in ten minutes.

Here's the real kicker; I found out from a friend a few weeks into classes that this semester's SF class (through random chance) is all girls. All young, single girls. Who know SF well enough to correct the teacher.
