Hello, boys. My name is Sergeant Ryan G. Cole. I am the Chief Drill Instructor in the 101st Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron. I spend my Thursday nights teaching twelve, thirteen, and fourteen year olds things that will serve them well in the future. Things such as citizenship and leadership. I spent my Friday nights in a class with 17 other people, learning all the intricacies of flight. My ground school gives me the basics I need to get a scholarship to pursue a career as an aviator. My Saturday afternoons are spent holding the Canadian flag in our squadron's color party. We do precision drill for 5 hours, so that we are perfect when we march in public in a parade. My Sunday's are spent as the Commander of my squadron's drill team. I work my team hard, and they come out of it with a sense of dicipline second only to that of a United States Marine. I spend my Monday nights as a member of the Marksmanship and Biathalon teams. We shoot rifles for 3 hours, then cross country ski for 2.

I am a notorious hard-ass in my squadron. The cadets that were new recruits two months ago now look like they've been here for years. To them my first name is "Sergeant".

I do not hope you enjoy your time with me, because you will learn nothing from fun and games. A man may be measured by his level of dicipline. Let's see how you boys measure up, shall we?
