View Full Version : Lightsaber issues

Ok, I've had a few gracious people testing my mod (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=164297) and they've come up with some great feedback, but one point I'm stumped on.

I created a single bladed lightsaber (2 of them, actually); did all the hex editing necessary to change it from saber 004 to 081 and 082 respectively. But, I want to change the hilt appearance as well. I extracted the w_lghtsbr_001.tga file, recolored it, saved it as 081 and 082 and I thought I had performed the hex edit I needed to get it into game.

Now, I just realized that I hadn't exported the txi file as well; would that have caused it?

In-game, currently, the saber just doesn't show up, apparently. I have not gotten far enough to test that out myself. It is an item, it is equippable as such, but the graphics don't ever show up from what I've been told. Needless to say, not what I want. Short of making the saber use the default texture, what can I do to make it show up using the correct texture?

Have you changed the uti file to point to model varient 81?

I would hope so, but if not I'm going to feel really dumb. I will check it when I get home.

I once spent the better part of three hours fixing, fixing, refixing, remaking, fixing, remaking a lightsaber uti then realised I had forgotten to change the model variation to what model I was using. :\

Ok, so I checked, and the saber's model variation was changed to 81 and 82, respectively...

I'll get to a point in a bit where I have a lightsaber-weilding character so I can test out exactly what's happening and hopefully troubleshoot more.

Edit: Ok, I may have figured out the issue. Without the txi file, the handle does appear to be quite transparent, so that may be what was being referred to. I'll have to wait for a reply PM to see.

I'll take a look at it this evening LZ as I was going to play with the mod tonight.
