If I rule the world, I wouldn't want a horrendously outdated warship.
I would order the construction of a massive vessel with a twin catamaran hull, three quad batteries of rail guns that fire a slug nine feet in diameter, omni-directional EMP emitters capable of disabling anything from a marauding fighter aircraft to an incoming nuclear warhead, a stealth coated superstructure, internal racks to carry a pair of Russian Akulas, 60 fighters/attackers, 10 heavy bombers (possibly B-52s), 40 support aircraft (including a few AWAC and tanker aircraft), and enough VLS tubes, deck mounted cruise missile launchers, 5" guns, Mk.2 Phalanx, and SM-2E launchers to fend off/attack any target smaller than France.

Hmmmm, I just had a thought, why don't any millitary ships have Catamaran hulls? It would mean that being top heavy wouldn't be an issue, you could mount bigger gunz on without tipping the boat and you could have twin flight decks. (I am talking about different types of ship not a supership like Nute 'Big target that everyone is going to gang up on'

My ship is SO HUGE that only nuclear weapons could destroy it entirely. Besides, it's defenses are so incredible that it's virtually impossible to hit.
A pair of Mk.2 Phalanx controlled by the Aegis air defense system can down 97% of any incoming weapon. You get hundreds of those and combine them with EMP weapons and you can't HIT me.

The Bismark was a german ship that they built to be invincible and undetectable. Needless to say, the allies found it and sunk it because they had smaller ships and could outmanouvre it!! You bet your ass!!! It can fly too! But, I mean, it was designed to fight angels... Yes, angels.

The Eva is actually a dead angel that's been covered in armor. The pilot sits in an entry plug which is inserted into the Eva. The pilot has a mental link with the dead angel, and can control it, allowing the Eva to move as fluidly as a normal human being. On the other hand, if the Eva, for example, get's its arms blown off, the pilot will feel as if his or her arms were blown off. The pilot feels everything the Eva does.

Now, the one problem with these puppies is the massive energy requirements... As one would expect, it takes a fair bit of juice to keep a dead angel kickin'. The Eva is equipped with an on-board power source, but it's only good for about 5 minutes of ass kicking. Therefore, any long-distance attack mush be done by aerial drop. Most of the fighting, however, is done within the confines of Tokyo-3, where plug-in points are available throughout the city, and an Eva can fight indefinatly.

The Eva pictured is Eva-01, the second working Eva. It's pilot's name is Shinji.

SlasherX
02-18-2001, 02:02 PM
To add on to Nitro, another different Eva actually fought under water against an submersible Angel. It was Eva 02 piloted by both Asuka and Shinji. They're were trying to protect Adam's Embryo.

Another thing, that Eva 01 don't need power recharges, it now has an S2 Inner Engine after eating an Angel limb by limb in berserker mode. It was surprising that Eva 01 was the last surviving Eva in the entire series including the movies.

Yes, but that assumes that EMP weaponry also disables the emitter, which would render it a useless device. My ship was named the Hurricane after the EMP system itself. Um. No. A kilo only carries 18 533mm torpedos, which are the smallest and least powerful torpedos on the market. And no one has nuclear torpedos anymore. START or SALT II got rid of them. Besides, my ship is TOO HUGE and HEAVILY DEFENDED to be harmed by a mere kilo. If a Typhoon RAMMED it, it wouldn't sink my ship.

MIRV-ed SLBMs are pretty much useless nowadays. A properly tuned SPY array could shoot them down, plus you give the enemy a HUGE warning with dozens of huge ass missile showing up on their radar. If you want trouble, use reconfigured Harpoons carrying small nuclear warheads that have had their guidance packages reprogramming with terrain following software (although you're somewhat limited in range on those) and TASMs with a nuclear warhead and terrain following sofware. Unless the other guy is watching the hell out of whereever you are with radar, satellites, AND thermal all at once, he's not going to know what's coming until it's all over.

Darth Sceltor
02-22-2001, 05:48 PM
My method of delivery for nukes is much more clever. Be wary when you see 20 chimps carrying around an odd metal object...

Rogue 9

Fine I'll park my Ohio's right next to your country, pop on missle into space for an EMP attack and launch the rest with a depressed angle trajectory, you have maybe 5 minutes before your capital is imolated, not nearly enough time to find out who shot at you...and a SPY array is just a Radar, it can't shoot missles down.

yes it can. You set it for it's arc to be a half degree of bearing and set the power to full. It sends a radar pulse so powerful it is essentially an EMP weapon.
And you can't use a SLBM in a curve like that, unless you want to just crash it into a city. It needs to get up to full altitude before the nosecone breaks aparts and scatters it's warheads.

Rogue 9

I already launched an EMP attack on you so your radar systems are fried, and the missles pop up to the proper altitude before seperating, if you whish I will Modify my plan to include some terrian folling Tomahawks armed with C.B.s to destroy your radar systems completely.

Rogue 9
02-22-2001, 06:12 PM
and then the follow up attack with B2 Bombers and Tactical Nukes will destroy your ability to retaliate --as a side note since we are both using U.S. technology this is going nowhere fast.

but if i'm using SPY and other more modern arrays, they're radiation hardened and would have survived an EMP attack.

Nute Gunray

besides, if you had launched an EMP attack against a country run by ME, we'd be so paranoid and underhanded that the second we noticed something that COULD be a nuclear weapon in space above us, i would have already launched. hell, since i'm underhanded, i would have had nuclear missiles based in satellites raining terror down upon your nation.

FYI, the Missouri is currently berthed at Pearl Harbor next to the resting place of the Arizona, where it serves as a museum. I do believe, that if need be, it could be yanked back into active duty to kick ass once again. I think at least 2 of the other Iowa-class Battleships could too.

watches as the trap is srung and as two more ecplise star destroyers the War Sword, and The Claymore, jump in give full broad sides at the to SSD disableing them and then destroying them with their two super lasers. all three jump to hyperspace.

You forgot something Eclipse were also made to ram. other ships. But those two other ones do if just fine.

I think of communism as a target. all commies should die.

in the event that you didn't know it both the Lusankya and the Executer are larger than the Eclipse and Eclipse 2 and they both have many more turbolasers,Fighters and stronger shields, The eclipse were shodilly built because the imps could not afford to do a good job...

I'd much rather have an Executor class over an Eclipse class. 1. Executors look better 2. Executors are bigger 3. Darth Vader had an Executor and we all know how l33t he was

Admiral
02-23-2001, 08:56 PM
Rogue 9 (not the sith)

where do you get your information, the Executor was smaller than the Eclipse, since the Executor sister ships Luskaney is the same type it is also small. and THe Eclipse wasn't made like crap. I actually have proof two. I qoute.

"The Eclipse was a new Super Star Destroyer...it was twice the size of the original Super Star Destroyer and over ten times the size of Imperial Star Destroyers."

"in Combat the Eclipse's hull and shields were so strong taht it could ram enemy vessesls without hesitation."

now that takes care of the poor craftsmanship, now onto weapons.

the Eclipse star destroyer has (this is only the ones I have numbers for)

10 gravity well projectors
500 heavy laser cannons
550 tubrolasers
1 superlaser
"made the ship capable of engaging entire new republic ships"

it carried 50 squadrons of Tie fighters (600 ships)
8 squads of tie bombers (96 ships)

it had 5 prefabricated garrisons
100 ATAT

crew of over 700,000 and 150,100 troops.

Now to the Executor. It is 5 times the lenght of a Imperial Star destroyer.

It just give a list of weapons and not the numbers

so I will skip to ships
we have:

144 tie fighters
200 other support ships (includes shuttles ect.)

3 prefabricated Imperial Garrisons
and only says engough walkers to crush any rebel base

and 38,000 ground troops.

If you don't believe me look in the Esstential Guide to Vechicles and Vessesls

Well Lets see if the eclipse was smaller then the regular SSD why would it carry more soldiers, ships, and guns answer it was larger by a great degree, A superlaser would requier it to be larger. Well I have proven you wrong.

The Essential Guide to V & V has been proved wrong on multiple occcasions. An Executor is longer than an Eclipse, although not as massive. An Executor is 18.something KM long. Some guy on the TF.N Tech Commentaries has devoted most of his life to proving that point. I find his evidence quite satisfying for me. I don't have the address at hand, so I can't give it to you.

Don't try and take me on. I saw your post and I will stick with my statement. I know the SSD were longer, but I also now that the Eclispse wasn't made like crap. I stick by what I said, and personaly unless I see some source that disproves that the eclipse is actually longer the an SSD, that I don't question then I will believe you. I have major doubts about that website.
