View Full Version : New Sam & Max sketchbook (limited to 750)

07-22-2006, 11:48 PM
Well, the initial run is limited to 750 anyway.

Details on the latest Telltale blog (http://www.telltalegames.com/blogs/telltale/?permalink=9FFF266AC7C66DC1C08ED1C95E5B35CB.txt&smm=y)

Steve's selling two new pieces of merchandise: a Max skull-and-crossbones shirt (also available as girl shirts!), and a self-published Sam & Max sketchbook with lots of neat old drawings, concepts from the cancelled games and the cartoon series, lines from the cartoon that didn't make it past the censors, and more. As I flipped through, Steve explained what the various pictures were (a giant thumb wrestling machine, a spaceship in the shape of Max's head and the aliens who built it, Flint Paper, a drawing Steve did years ago to piss off his brother). I asked why he hadn't included this commentary in the book. "No one wants to read commentary," he said. "When I get a book like this, I only look at the pictures." Well, they're awesome pictures, and if you're a Sam & Max fan you'll be wise to hunt this book down. Steve said he printed 750 and he only has about 200 with him at the show, so even if you couldn't make it to Comic-Con, I'm sure there will be other opportunities to buy it.

Also some nice photos of Steve sketching the duo (for fans?).

****, where can I get it?

07-22-2006, 11:52 PM
I assume hope by that last sentence "so even if you couldn't make it to Comic-Con, I'm sure there will be other opportunities to buy it" means it will be listed on the Telltale website store...

If it gets put on the Telltale website's store, that'll be a lot more convenient than me having to find someone who went to Comic-Con and nabbed a copy, stalk him, and then burglarize him.

Maybe it's time spudvision.com actually launches.

07-23-2006, 07:00 PM
I want the T-Shirt, of course explaining what it is to stupid bitches might push me over the edge.

You just need to learn how to turn you nose up, condescension will get you everywhere. (Either that, or learn how to smack a ho.)

07-24-2006, 09:28 PM
I do know how to smackaho

08-05-2006, 02:11 AM
It's a damn fine sketchbook.

08-05-2006, 11:16 PM
How the **** did you get a sketchbook? That's not fair!

08-05-2006, 11:31 PM
Maybe if some of us had some initiative we'd have gone to Comic-Con.

08-06-2006, 03:58 PM
Yeah, I got mine at Comic Con. Met Steve too. Nice guy.

08-06-2006, 04:02 PM
Man, Comic-Con is only like a three hour flight away. I had no real excuse.

08-07-2006, 07:57 PM
Except $$$ I assume.

08-07-2006, 07:59 PM

Sometimes I really wish I was rich. And by sometimes, I mean all the time.

Boo Radley says your a lying bastard.

08-10-2006, 03:00 PM
So is anyone going to tell us where to get these sketchbooks already or are we just going to keep pissing all over this thread?

08-10-2006, 04:52 PM
I think we're just going to have to keep pissing all over it, since Jake stares down at us from his throne of dispair and yet does nothing. Now let's all draw pictures of Jake bring hit by a Little Debbie truck.

08-10-2006, 11:20 PM
You'll only encourage him.

08-11-2006, 07:57 PM
According to a recent interview Telltale "will have some new merchandise really soon: t-shirts, books, etc." Sketchbook???

08-11-2006, 10:03 PM
Those bastards seem to think we want to spend $10 to have a piece of their wall, jerks.

08-11-2006, 10:55 PM
You know all of this would be easily answered by Jake if he would just, you know, stop by.

I think he's reading all of this and giggling though.

08-12-2006, 12:29 AM
I see him logged in at least once a week, no more sacrafices for you Jake.

Have we been...Forsaken by Jake? Sounds like a failed prime time show on one of the less popular networks. Yay.

We will have to move to worshipping Stossel and Billy Dee Williams (Based on mustache coolness).
