on some peoples signatures they have a box with a picture and their name inside. HOW DO YOU GET THEM??

Well first you have to find a image that suits you best, then you need to host it (ex. www.imageshack.us) and then use IMG-code to show it in your signature like this:
IMAGEURLHERE (without the spaces!)

What exactly are you writing in you signature ? Perhaps there is someting wrong in your link.
