A school was locked down for a sighting of "Batman" (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/B/BATMAN_SIGHTING?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2007-02-14-17-19-12) . C'mon people. Stop being so freaked out and thinking everyone is going to blow something up. Heck for all they know the kid could be lying.

Unless "Batman" was carrying an actual bomb.

That school wins so much. I wonder if our superintendent has heard about this, cause I know where I can get an Aquaman costume and April Fool's is comin soon.

"We didn't want to take any chances," Shafir said. "We just don't want to put anyone at risk."

It's a waste of our police force to investigate incidents where schools are closed down because someone wrote "This school will blow to kingdom come at 11:00" or "Bomb the school"...or, in this case...a guy in a Batman costume...

...Especially when it's a middle school...

Couldn't the whole thing just have been made up anyway? Only that one student saw "Batman." Although I guess where do you come up with something that ludicrous unless it actually did happen.

I can kind of understand where they're coming from, but at the exact time, it's ludicrous.

First Ignignok and now Batman, next it's going to be a guy in a Barny costume for christs sake.

At times like this, I have to wonder just what the police department in Cave Creek AZ (north of Phoenix) normally does while on patrol...

that wouldn't work tho because no one's afraid of Aquaman.
student: teacher, I think I see aquaman out in the yard!
teacher: well big whoop. that fish face better get into some water then!

This makes me ashamed to live in Arizona. Thats ridiculous...he ran across campus, jumped a fence, disappeared, and THEN they issued a lockdown?

I would understand if it was an evacuation (like maybe they thought he had planted explosives since he was escaping somewhat suspiciously), but a lockdown? A lockdown locks everyone inside the school, so if it was indeed something like a bomb...boom goes the peoples.

There could be a bomb in the school!!! Quick! Lock everyone in!

ahh..... logic at its finest.
