Chat about where you are from/currently living in here.

As you all probably know, I hail from Southern California. The weather here is currently perfect, I can wear short sleeves in the morning and cool breezes keep it delightfully balmy later on in the day. This is when we SoCalers have the best weather, even if it's shortlived.

People that build their houses atop hills are idiots. We live 30-45 minutes from the beach and my house is on very flat ground. If I stand on my rooftop I can see real far since there are no hills.

I live near Mayhem and even though the weather can be nice, it's really crazy and unpredictable. I say it's on crack.
As for the terrain its self, it can be really pretty down here. Up in the Santa Monica mountains, it's really nice and clear.
now the people are another thing. They are really crazy and always drugged up. Gangs, guns, crack... It's all one big party down here!

Hard to beleive that in SoCal we're experiencing the best weather of the year and in other parts of the country it's snowing 10 ft. deep. The weather isn't all bad, it's just that from around 6-8:30 AMish it's pretty cold while the rest of the day is warm. And most of us have to get up and go to work at around that time and have to deck ourselves out with jackets that later on become unnecesary layers since the day's gotten warmer (we dont have lockers at our school). If the day started an hour later, we would be fine and calling the weather perfect wouldn't be an understatement.

Aw, c'mon, Lex. That was downtown LA, not everyone ->here<- is a drugged up. Sure, you have your stereotypes, but the people in SoCal are a colorful bunch. Most people are hispanice, the second largest majority being asians, followed by blacks, followed by whites. Everyone's biggest concern is moneymoneymoney (I've been raised to beleive that money can buy happiness, without it there is none, yaddayadda), though I'd say we're pretty lax about many other subjects as well.

Dude, I'm going to be there later this year. Would you recommend their Rocky Horror midnight showings?

Why, certainly!

I would also recommend walking down Sixth street on a Friday and examining the, ah, SCENERY. By scenery I mean hot babes.

Tacky men...

When I see this message, I know I've achieved the objective of having the subject talk about me, and that's a good thing. Since the target will likely turn away in disgust, I would now (after, of course, insuring that the target is of age) interject the appropriate pick-up line: "Hey baby, aren't you forgetting something?" What? "ME!" And so forth. Basically any line from this page (http://linesthataregood.com/cheesy.html) is gold.

Yeah, Austin's pretty awesome.

Important bits are in bold. I, of course, am not a perv. Just normal-ish. :D

I live in NC. The weather changes from Eskimo-suit cold to "put on your sandals and Hawaii shirt; it's beach time!" warm.

Thank God for no blizzards. But it's normally 90+ with humidity in the summer. Carrier was an awesome man; he invented the AC...

Yeah, tell me about it. Other than the random hurricanes, the roads are pretty much driveable year round.

Funfact: if you've ever seen those overhead pictures of spaggeti-loopy freeways, that's SoCal. Most freeways are like 6 lanes wide, and we use them often to get to more out of way places. I'd always thought these loopy freeways were an American standard ... till I had to go camping. We took the Camino Real highway, which was only 1 lane wide. WTF? My mom laughed and corrected me, 'No. Only LA and the major parts of Southern California have such big highways. 1 lane isn't too unnormal everywhere else'. WTF!?!? Apparently it's true.

zelda 41
02-18-2007, 09:49 PM
yep. 1 lanes aren't so bad.

Miss_Mayhem
02-18-2007, 10:01 PM
They are lonely and creepy. I'm used to either 2/3 lanes on a road that is supended over 3 other lanes on the ground, or 6 lanes of freedom.

Lucky Zelda.
I've always wanted to be 6ft tall..... AT LEAST!
I used to be taller than about half of the guys in my band class and then the other day, I measured my self against on of the taller ones and he was about *holds fingers apart a few inches* THAT much taller than me! WWWWWTTTTTTFFFFFFFF!?!
*sigh* how do you become tall?
