View Full Version : Eeeek! (K1) Skill Problem (.2da)

I changed the *_class column in skills.2da for scoundrel and jedi guardian by setting a 1 for the repair skill: as I learned here, this makes the repair skill a 'class skill' for both.

It worked great for scoundrel, but when I got to Dantooine and became a guardian, I only had a single point to distribute among skills! Ick.

How can I get back the default number of skill points for jedi guardian level ups?

The default number of skill points awarded is defined in classes.2da which by default is 2 modified by your intelligence score. If all your getting is one skill point likely that means you have an Intelligence score of 8?

Gee, I am completely dead in the water. Nothing seems to affect the 1 skill point available at level up.

INT is 10. I tried increasing the number in the classes 2da from 2 to 4 for a guardian and putting it in override, but it didn't change anything: still 1 point available.

Any other suggestions? :O

try increasing your intelligence (not YOURS oviously.. lol) using the KSE to summat like 20, which will make an easy-to-notice difference...

Interestingly, when I went from 10-22 it gave me a total of 4 points to distribute. This is how many points I had as a scoundrel with 10 INT.


Even though it makes no sense and I am walking around with a 22 intelligence... it does fix the problem.

the reason that the guardian has less points to distrubute than a scoundrel is because i think its the "skill point base" column, try setting it to 8 for jedi guardians.

to your question:Thanks, and you can oviously edit 2da files so, go into the override and edit the spells.2da file and change the value for guardian to summat like 3 (which means you can get the power at level 3, but you might not have enough force points, i think i set the value to 30 which means that jedi guardians can't get the power (me being realistic... lol) just change it to a level lower than 20)
