It's not about free as in beer but free as in speech.
Meaning: Non-free in the sense of not being able to read and modify the source code.

(Yes, I am a FOSS-"evangelist")

Damnit, how many newbies do we have to point to the General MI Discussion (http://lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=140) board?

i only want to show you this programm, to make you own advenutres...

you can use it or not... to make monkey island is very easy with this program or another game....

Brighteyes
03-07-2007, 05:13 PM
You should make us a game and we'll play it........

(we do seem to have this habit of breaking newbies spirits don't we, they come here with all this....this.....freshness and enthusiasm and then we smash them! We're like the old gits that sit huddled in a pub and throw abuse and peanuts at people who've never been there before.)

Kj°len

to make monkey island is very easy with this program or another game....

Hey, yeah! Or, we could pop in the discs of the Monkey Island games that we already own.

Kj°len
03-10-2007, 01:46 PM
I am strictly against that practice.

Joshi
03-12-2007, 05:03 AM
What, the practice of programming a game that already exists? How else shall we learn?

Fealiks
03-12-2007, 05:46 PM
The practice of fun..?

E...mo?

Kj°len
03-12-2007, 09:53 PM
Yes, the practice of fun, no emo.
Emos are just uncool goths.

Joshi
03-13-2007, 04:42 AM
No, emo's are emotional Goths... but yes, without the cool.

Fealiks

What if I throw some Jaffa Cakes at you?

Yeah, I know, that was cheap and nasty. Just like Jaffa Cakes.

Joshi
03-28-2007, 03:51 AM
Do not diss the Jaffa cake, cake of all cakes!

Fealiks
03-28-2007, 06:11 PM
To diss them you only have to list the ingredients... there can't be anything natural in there, surely, just look at them. And they taste past their sell-by date.

Joshi
03-29-2007, 03:54 AM
Hmm, a sponge cake, with chocolate, and gelatine. What aren't you recognising here?

SeaTurtle
04-05-2007, 10:03 AM
Did you know they do blackcurrant & apple and lemon & lime Jaffa cakes? I saw some in Icelands this morning. It's just wrong, Jaffa cakes are ORANGE flavour...

Joshi
04-05-2007, 07:26 PM
I actually bought the blackcurrant and lime ones the other week. You're right, they should really only come in orange.

Compare the "sponge" of a jaffa cake with that of a sponge cake. Also, compare the taste of an orange with that of the stuff inside jaffa cakes. Plus the chocolate tastes bad.

Joshi

Compare the "sponge" of a jaffa cake with that of a sponge cake. Also, compare the taste of an orange with that of the stuff inside jaffa cakes. Plus the chocolate tastes bad.

Lets take in the facts shall we?

1) A few Years back, Jaffa made a giant Jaffa cake to prove that it was a cake (about 12 inches in diameter). They used all the same ingredients and came up with a giant sponge cake with jelly and chocolate on it, so yes, it is real sponge cake.

2) Comparing the taste of a real orange with that of the jelly of a Jaffa Cake and yes, you won't get the real stuff, but again, it's jelly, it's not meant to taste like the fruit, it's meant to taste like a gelatine dessert.

3) The Chocolate does not taste bad, it tastes like REAL chocolate, not that milk chocolate crap you're used to. The use more cocoa is all, think Belgian chocolate and you're halfway there.

Fealiks
04-11-2007, 05:34 PM

(2) See (1)
(3) No, i love dark chocolate, the Jaffa cake chocolate just tastes so cheap to me.

Now here's a tale of arrogance in the face of famous chocolate, I didn't know what the **** a Milka bar was until about a month ago. Apparently it is quite a widely known chocolate bar. And from what I had heard, I thought it was spelt Milker for the first five minutes of my new recognition of Milka. And I thought Milka was a high pitched singer from London! twodrumsandacymbalfallingdownahillBadum bish.

Brighteyes
06-04-2007, 05:41 PM
Just randomly bought a packet of space raider crisps. Remember them brits? Ya know those 10p bags of alien faces, the beef one would make your mouth stink so much you could kill a granny at 20 paces.
Whose old enough to remember power ranger stickers in Lucky bags?

(if i must be ridiculed for being an old power rangers fan, please be gentle, i'm a delicate little flower).

Fealiks
06-05-2007, 03:29 PM
I can't believe they are still 10p. Mmmmm.

Oh and by the way, Asda smart price chocolate for scrubbers is MUCH better than cardburgs. And cheaper at 29p for a big bar, compared with 99p from Cadburgs.

Edit:

while we're on the subject,

Bring back Wispa!

mrch w/ me ppz

Joshi
06-05-2007, 03:39 PM
Actually I also miss the Wispa, but apparently, they were too fragile to make so Cadbury's stopped making them... the bastards.

When I was a baby I lived in Italy and I think I survived purely on Kinder chocolate. It's weird because it's the milkiest chocolate available and I love it, but my other favourite chocolate is dark. Like Bourneville. Or that Belgian stuff with brandy in it.

I also like Twix and M&Ms. But, I don't know why I feel compelled to share this.

Man, your sure were (are?) spoiled kids. I only had a Kinder ▄berraschung once a year and I was happy! In fact, I had to share it with my siblings, all 37 of them! But did you hear me complain? No, of course not!

At what point did I say I got more than one a year? It took a full year to forget how dissapointed I was about my last kinder egg so when my mum bought me a new one I was stupidly excited about it.

Fealiks

I hardly ever got them. And I'm not spoiled, I'm just a twat. My brother is spoiled, he got a strat replica for his birthday from our dad, I got a knitted New York Yankees cap (wtf I don't watch rounders) and a terrible camo-style hoody that didn't fit so he had to take it back. He kept the refund though. It's not that he loves my brother more, he thinks in a different, more logical way to the rest of us which seems to dictate that if you don't know what a person likes, don't try to hit and then miss.

He did buy me a cool art set for Christmas though.
