No. It was a very serious colloquialistic analogy.

Ah, Chase, but you forget that the show was made for nearly brainless couch-potato kids.

Because there was something to like in those shows, even if they were a bit lame, so was pretty much anything else on TV.

The thing is, are you pounding on 'em just to appear 'cool'? Because it'll end up having that ol' reverse psychology thing where people realize the sad one is the one making a big deal out of watching a show that he himself states as silly.

In which case, who is the one with the problem?

I liked Power Rangers, and I liked Pokemon (though, hated Digimon). Same time I like ReBoot and Gargoyles. But had they been as popular as Power Rangers and Pokemon, would you diss them? You'd prolly will, because I think you're not looking at the quality of the shows and just dissing them to look 'cool'.

Unfortunately, we're over 16 here at least. That sort of backyard standard went out ages ago.

PS: For the record, I'm not saying Pokemon/Power Rangers are as good as Gargoyles or ReBoot. But one shouldn't discriminate a show just because he has some pumped up impression of himself.

Yeah, I remember the old Turtles cartoons. The new ones gay-ified them. What happened to Shredder's bumbling henchmen Rocksteady and Beebop?

I disappointedly watched some show similar to Power Rangers....can't remember the name but it involved some overall human morale, the hero (Servo?) going into a computer, kicking butt, enemy gets bigger, he gets bigger, enemy develops some weird power, then hero calls help in which another guy and/or girl comes in with their robot upgrades.

I tell you: I love technology (supposedly) originating from Japan, but those guys really know how to beat a dead horse.

I have to learn all this crap so I can talk about something with kids at work. Just when I've gotten the turtles and their colors figured out, in comes the Power Rangers, and not just plain old Power Rangers. No, they have to confuse things. Just when I have which color power ranger is who, they bring in Power Rangers 2, then 3, then 56, then Space Patrol Delta, then Godzilla Hunters, you name it. Of course they don't stay the same colors. That would be too convenient. I think I'll stick with Sesame Street--40 years and nearly everyone's the same. Big Bird is still yellow and Oscar the Grouch is still mold-green.

I have videos of combat in Iraq taken by some of my Dad's soldiers under his command.

If you want to see them I'll upload them.

Um, no. I'm sure no one else has any interest either. Who the hell wants to see that kind of thing if they don't have to? Besides, that'd prolly be decidedly non-PG.

All the new Power Rangers suck. ****-ass 'Mystic Force' and whatnot.

Mystic Force is over, the new one is OPERATION OVERDRIVE, which suksx1000. The producers should really call it quits, its sad how the PR have fallen...

@Halo: Ask a mod to see if you can, don't get in trouble

I saw all the old Power Rangers as a little kid, and I even bought the Megazord, the current PRs are a joke.

Mystic Force is over, the new one is OPERATION OVERDRIVE, which suksx1000.

The moment I saw the geometry toy symboled Zeo Rangers, I went HELL NO, and stopped watching PR.

Operation Overdrive is beyond sad! It's fine that they want the rangers to go all around the world instead of battling in the same city every week/space/sea/volcano/whatever.

But what kind of self-respecting ranger pilots a DUMPTRUCK ZORD. What the HELL is a DUMPTRUCK going to do!

It has got to be the CHEAPEST PR toy cash-in of all time! Not to mention it copies the Construction Decepticon robots from the old Transformers' series.

I'll only watch it for one reason: I just want to see how the son of Zedd and Rita is going to look like.

Forget the fact that it's prolly the most disturbing imagery of all time but still...

Btw, anyone watched Beast Wars? I loved it when I was a kid. Tigertron especially; even when he (technically) became a hermaphrodite when the got fused with AirRazor.

The new PR almost makes me cry over my happy childhood memories.

At least there' still sentai, the original Japanese superhero series from which power rangers is based on. It actually has a serious story with character development and that kind of thing.

I think I watched that one Psycho. Was one of the zords a dolphin, the yellow a tiger or lion???

A dumptruck Zord is going to uh, take a dump on people.

BTW, the new Transformers movie is coming out (or came out...whichever).

That's ninja storm. And it was a yellow lion.

Sentai has a bunch of seasons with new ranger teams, just like PR. PR edits every Sentai and puts in the acting and stuff to make PR.

I never watched the Sentai series (although I prolly should). There's also the Gransazers; which uses the original Japanese broadcast with dubbed voices over here in Singapore. It's okay; the Jap boys and girls are way prettier than the PR cast anyday -.-

BTW, the new Transformers movie is coming out (or came out...whichever).

Coming out. It looks fine; the robots look a little more complicated (and shiny) with alot more exposed rivets and cords, but transformation is handled beautifully. I'm just wondering how they're explain the origin story and ultimately how the voice acting comes out (nothing in the recent trailers shows talking bots).

Tommy probably is what, 40 years old????

The producers should just make a final PR with all the gPR fight all the bad guys and end of story..
