Well, ohh dear, can't beleive i actually posted this, well, it's not really a WIP just yet, more of a recruit thread, I am planning a translation of the MotOR Yavin 4 Mod.

I am recruiting for people who can translate the text from Polish To English, then I'll take all the translated text and change all the Polish text to the translated English text.

I may also translate to other languages (E.G: German, French, Spanish ect)

So if you can read Polish formal and slang PM me or post here so we can begin to translate the text.

Also i would like some feedback on the mod. :)

Yes I Emailed the creator and he has given me permission the translate and release it to the public when completed, so.... Now all i need is the text translators :D

This looks awesome, the fact that it was in polish has stopped me from playing this mod. It looks like I'm missing out on something pretty damn cool so I look forward to seeing the completed product!! Great idea, and great job!!

Looks very nice. :emodanc: Though perhaps you should bump that down to 99% completed and do another round of proof-reading of the text? I noticed some mistakes and errors in those screenshots. The final mod would look more polished if those were corrected. :)

Thank you, and yes i just went through the pics, and i noticed one in particular:

"But also has small cargo hold"

Theres no "a" between has and small, lol.

Ok, Stoffe's correct, module 1 has been moved to 99.9% complete, lol

And I noticed I made few errors in Trask's dialogue. Bah, gonna fix that along the next module work.

Double-checked and fixed errors and re-send both modules.

Glad this is getting some interest, and thanks -DK-, I've just got back from College and ill correct those errors now, and start putting the module 3 .rtf together.

And another quick update, module 2 (yav_91.mod) is now around 90% complete, need to correct a few things.

Yeah i have noticed the module's are backwards, lol, theoretically, Yav_90 would be the first module but it's in reverse, Yav_99 is the first module, lol.

Ok a quick update, unfortunatly as the modules are backwards and I'm warping to them because they are backwards, it keeps warping me into locked rooms so i can't get out, lol, so no screens at the moment, but the modules are building successfully, module 1 (Yav_90) is now certainly 100% complete, module 2 (Yav_91) is now i beleive 100% complete but with out starting from the beginning of the planet it's hard to tell, module 3 is shaping up nicely as well as module 4, should have some screens by the end of the day.

Ok time for another update, I have play tested the modules we have done to my best ability and i can now say that module's 1-7 are now 100% done, wooooo. All thats left to do is the final 3 modules and the files that go in the Override folder.

Not much of the adventurous picture update i would of liked to show you all but this small video update will have to do, it shows a small preview of 2 Jedi students in the training room of the Yavin Fort.

Unfortunately the original file size was to big to upload to my site as it was taking so long to upload, (due to me downloading to much stuff at the moment) it timed out, lol, so it is in .bik format and you will need RAD Video tools to view it.

Hmmm... Funny you should say that, well it was going to be a surprise but since it has come up early ill give in and tell.

I want voice overs so i will be recruiting for that, I haven't gone through all needed parts yet but i will once we're finished with the English translation.

In other update news, module's 8-10's text is now being translated and the Override folder files text document is being made to be translated, so maybe, and i say maybe, 2 days, it depends on how long it takes to write out the whole Override files text, remember within the override files are: Items, Weapons, Armour and more, in those files we have descriptions and names, plus other various things, so 2 days isn't certain, but still, we're almost finished.

And if we are going to have voice overs it'll take at least an extra week, maybe more depending on the actors/actresses. And i do want voice overs for the mod, so i will hold of as long as i can for the voices to be finished before people start getting violent for me to release it, lol. And thats not an invitation to get violent to release it either, lol.

I had hoped that someone would take this on, and I'm excited by your translator's rapid progress. It lends credence to my belief that the TSLRP translation will be quick and relatively easy, as long as they get translators as efficient as yours!

In progress news, all modules have been translated and the Override files text is now being translated, so overall about 90%, soon i will be recruiting for the voice acting.

Well, the translating progress will slow down now, i sent the page of Override files text to -DK- and, well, we know it'll take a while to translate the whole lot, as of descriptions of items and weapons.

It seems that allot of people haven't actually played the mod as i keep getting asked this question, Exar Kun's tomb is already in the mod, its an area you have to go through.

But to answer your question, yes it will be compatible. :)

Ok guys it's been a while since i gave an update, mainly because the translations are still going on.

Well I've decided to start recruiting for the voicers, the parts that need filling are below:



Elite Republic Soldier (Female)

Larson (Male)

Vandar (Male) (Could be tricky, must sound like Yoda/Vandar)

Master Virmos (Oldish Speaking Male)

Dodonna (Female) (Must sound similar to Admiral Dononna)

Officer Jack (Male)

Trask (Male) (Must sound similar to Trask)

Thanks, is it the same as the completely separate mod Exar Kun's Tomb? I have three questions. To how many characters are you adding voise to (I remember it being brought up.)? Are there any new items like the armor Trask was wearing? Will there be a lightside/darkside story change or will it be the same story regardless of your alignment?

Exar's tomb is completely different in this mod, the voicers positions are above, there are new items and amour in the mod, not sure how many though, but there is allot, and I'm not sure on the story change, i don't think it does change it much, as we are still translating things i still haven't been able to play through the entire planet yet.

I actually have some pretty bad news, it's not so much on the mod but more my PC, recently, like 2 days ago I received some 'lovely' gifts from some porn spam bots. They infected my computer with currently 'unknown' trojan's and viruses that cannot be 'found' on my computer to be removed, so while I am waiting for my computer to be fixed, which will be about a month, (I'm getting a new hard drive then so...) I'll back up all my important files and transfer them to my new hard drive and then wipe my current HD and reinstall windows, UGH :wornout:, and then I'll get back to work with everything, from now on I'll be using a PC form an internet caffe, to go online every now and then to reply to threads and what not.

So wish me luck on my recovery, I'm sure Glovemaster will, since he had one of these recently, if I remember correctly.

I was thinking of doing that anyway since I have very few voice actors :(, so I'll release V1.0 first without voices then V1.1 with voices, there's not that many human speakers anyway, most people use alien VO's, so it won't be that bad.

Hey eveyrone, I make a return, been really busy for the last few months but have been lurking occasionally. Anyways, I am no longer busy as its summer baby! I would be happy to be a voice actor if you can't get anyone else, although I don't know if I'd be any good. I'm British, all my friends here in the U.K would say I don't have an accent, although when I've been to America, I've had all the 'oh I love your accent' comments. Let me know if you do want me to have a go MZ.

Ummm... I don't see how, what are you trying to open it with, it will only open with Bink video player, I can play it just fine, have you updated your version of Bink with the latest?

Yes, once the Polish > English is fully functional, I'll go ahead and translate to German, and other languages, though it will take allot more time, so after I've done a German, which is currently the first other language requested, I may stop, unless of course somebody else requests a different language of it.

Also to take into consideration, I don't know German, and so I will have to let the translation magic happen through my (expensive) translating software, so if the words come out all wrong, then... well, I'd have to find someone willing to translate the English to German, and that could take a very long time, especially if the person helping becomes uninterested in the project.

But I fail to see how my translating software could translate into words that mean nothing, especially for how much it cost.

The words may mean something, but the context and grammar often ends up wrong. In my experience translation softwares are usually more amusing than really useful. At best they might produce something that's understandable, if not proper. :)

Well thank you, it's nice to know that there are people waiting for this project, although me and -DK-, I mean ŠeceptiKain (doh!) can't take the credit for the planet itself, as we didn't make it, that would have to go to Team MotOR, the creators of the original mod, all we can say was we translated it, still maybe we'll end up in top 10 mod of the year or something, lol, one can dream :xp:

Maybe, maybe not, I'm not sure if there will be any conflicts.

If you are talking about bugs with the game not relating the the Yavin mod then no, I'm not fixing game bugs.

How's that working out *nudge*? Since silveredge9 released his mod, I'm itching to play K1 again, but I might wait until your translation mod is released, depending...

I'm not one to start a pressure cooker... I'm happily waiting for the TSLRP with no complaints. Just curious :) I know you're driving your brother nuts using his machine :lol:

Lol, my brother is ok with using his machine to use 3DSMax, but he won't let me actually mod on his PC, so while I wait for my PC to be fixed, (I have to wait for PC World to... 'get round' to it :p) actual modding is on hold, but as soon as my PC is working again, this will be the first thing I quickly sort out :)

Dude, I can't wait to play K1 again with this, Coruscant, the Dark Brotherhood, and K1RP (Slehyron). That'll add so much to the game.

Hi Master Zionosis, sorry to ask you this yet again but I was slightly confused by some of the responses I read earlier in the thread and wanted some clarification.

Firstly I haven't played the original mod, in fact I hadn't even heard of this until just right now; I don't visit these forums much anymore but Coola's awesome Coruscant mod has me hooked again.

In one post you mentioned that this mod would be compatible with Exar Kun's tomb mod but then you mentioned that it would be a different tomb from that one, unless I misunderstood. If the tomb here is different, wouldn't that then make it incompatible with the other Exar Kun tomb?

Also will this mod be changing appearance 2da or any other 2da file? Thanks a lot, this looks great.

It will be compatible with the Exar Kun tomb mod because all that adds to the game is a .mod file called ekun.mod if i remember correctly, the only way that they wouldn't work together is if there was a .mod file in the Yavin mod that was also called ekun.mod, which there isn't ;)

And yes there is moderation of various .2da files, that's why I said I have no idea which mods will be compatible :)

I'd say 70%. Translation's done for about two months, the ingame text placing is only thing to do.

It's not my fault that PCWorld don't want to get round to my PC, they have it in their shop, so even if my dad was able to do it he wouldn't be able to as it's like 20 miles away, lol.

Just be patient, I can guarantee that I want my PC back more than anyone :p :lol:

With this mod, along with Coruscant, Sleheyron and the Brotherhood of Shadow, it's not hard to imagine reaching level 20 before getting the final Star Map. >_>

That is, if/when Coruscant and Sleheyron are released.

Update: Yeah my PC is fixed, I have it back, I will begin work on this mod again during my week off from college.

I was getting near zero interest for voice overs, I needed more female VO than male and no one really volunteered, so that is what I'll start to organize for version 2.

Maybe now people can see how good the mod is I may get some more interest for VO (Female included)

I might sound completely devoid of any KoToR knowledge when asking this question, but my happiness and need to play this mod far outweighs what little pride I have left.

Anyways, is there a particular part of the game you need to get to before you're able to go to Yavin IV or is it just as soon as you're able to get onto the EH and plot a course for the place?'

I didn't see the answer to that in the readme and I don't see an additional planet on my starmap.

Anyways, as always thanks for the time and patience.

When I'm at the "launch pad" (Yav_90), and walk towards the Dark Jedi, the game crashes. For the record, it's likely a mod conflict of some sort, as I tend to use plenty of them. It looks like several others at Filefront also encountered the issue.

What I'm looking for is the script that's used at that point. Chances are, if I know what's misfiring, I can correct the misfire.

That will be a conflict, I've played through the entire mod with a clean override, it plays fine, so I'm not going to be able to fix that manually, whether the TSLPatcher version will fix this I don't know.

I found the script that was causing the crash! (Tav_trask.ncs) Now to decompile it and find a workaround for anyone still encountering this conflict.
