So I have no experience in modding what so ever and requested a mod to change your pc. But nobody responded so I tought I would start by myself. Only problem is I have no idea where to start. The idea was to reskin Dopak with corpse paint. Into Shagrath from Dimmu Borgir to be exact.

The idea was that he would look like this:

The first thing you need to do is get the proper software!

You'll need a graphic editor (photoshop is what I use, but you can also use free programs like gimp, anything that can open and edit TGA's)

You'll need Fred Tetra's awesome KOTOR Tool.

You'll need a hex editor of some sort (I use a commercial one called Hex Workshop, but I'm sure there are free one's out there)

I think that's all you'll need. There's a page here somewhere that lists all of the good modding software, but for what you're doing I think this is all you'll need.

Next, I would suggest the tutorials. There are some great one's out there, you just gotta search the board. You need to search for information on retexturing and remodeling. If you use those terms, you should be able to find the tutorials on how to do what you're talking about. I've done this myself, and it's not to difficult, but involves several steps and there's no point in rewriting what others have already written.

I'm sorry I don't know the location of the tutorials, but if you use the search with those terms (modelling and retexturing) you should find them.

Edit: You may also want to familiarize yourself with the appearance.2da and heads.2da files. These are the files you'll be working with, along with the texture and model files (but you don't really need to understand the model file in order to edit it).
