Server: Action Server - FFA/JM/CTF
Slots: 14
Rules: No Force Grip; All Weapons; Chat at your own risk
Launch: June 1, 2007

I'm finishing up a OJP Enhanced Server. The server will rotate FFA, JM (Jedi Master), and CTF game types (4-5 maps per rotation 30 min. per game). It's going to be a little botty to start, but hopefully more people will play

The problem is that I have a ton of maps and can't decide which ones to keep for the final rotation. What do you think? Please do not comment on everything, just the maps you like the best or the least. Keep in mind, I prefer medium-large maps with bot support. Also keep in mind that everybody has the standard maps, while custom maps are not as widely circulated.

So far, I've narrowed my map list down to (in no particular order):

Standard MP Maps
mp/ffa1-Vjun Sentinel
mp/ffa2-Korriban Tombs
mp/ffa4-Rift Sanctuary
mp/ctf1 Imperial Drop Zone
mp/ctf3 Yavin Hilltops
mp/ctf4 Coruscant Streets
mp/ctf5 Factory

Bonus MP Maps from Raven
mp/ctf_bonus1 Rift of Shadows
mp/ffa_bonus1-Gas Mine
mp/ffa_bonus2-The Fortress
mp/ffa_bonus4-Ord Mantell Canyon

Custom Maps

Star Wars Episode III JKA Map Pack - Part 2 (http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Star_Wars_Episode_III_JKA_Map_Pack_Part_2;44558)
Arevass (http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Arevass;45281)
Ancient Outpost (http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Ancient_Outpost;68509)

That's 11 CTF and 13 FFA. I'd like to get it down to 4-6 of each type. Follow the links if you're not familiar with the custom ones.

To keep this orderly, I'm asking that you limit your comments to:
1) Maps you like or dislike. Only comment if you have an opinion on a particular map. If you don't care, don't say anything.
2) Maps not listed. If you have a suggestion not listed, let me know. Chances are I have it and eliminated it for one reason or another.

That's it for now. Thanks in advance to all.

If I use the map download cvar (i.e. seta mapURL "http://xxx.xxxx.com/"), will I have to set set sv_allowDownload "1"? I thought I read about a security risk for allowing downloads? The server is not on a home pc, but I'd prefer not to use it if there is a problem.

You might also consider the map Jumpspace. It's quite fun, medium sized and has botroutes. http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Jumpspace;61168

All those maps look good. It's gonna be tough deciding which ones to use.

No you don't have to turn that on. If i recall all it does is errors the player to the start-up console and shows the URL to download.

Right, mapURL just displays the download link if the player doesn't have the map. It doesn't actually download the map for them.

And what would the download link lead to, if, say, the map was on PCgamemods, and JK3files? Is it editable?

It just displays the URL that the server host setup as part of their server.cfg. It can be anything since it's just a text message and not an download link that you can click on.
