View Full Version : What tweaks have you made to your game?

While I only have a meager knowledge of modding, I have nonetheless made a few changes to my game to make it more enjoyable for me. I'm wondering what changes others have made, things for which it might be a stretch to call a mod, but you feel are valuable to your game.

These are some of the things I've done for me:

Modified Juhani to make her harder, balanced, color-coded, better dressed.
Modifed Sherruk to make him harder and balanced.
Modified the Dark Jedi trios that attack you on different planets to be harder, color-coded, and balanced.
Changed threat range of short sabers to 18-20.
Gave jedi robes ability bonuses to make them a viable alternative to wearing armor, with dark jedi robes getting more bonuses.
Added color robes (somebody else's mod) so I can have robes that match my class.
Tried to give Nemo green robes and saber (failed) and to change the Sith Governor's Stasis power to Horror (failed).
I may rebalance all the feats so that common feat choices aren't so desirable, while uncommon choices, like the skill feats, are more desirable.
I may make some low-level implants so that the T1 Implant feat might actually help you on Taris.
Lastly, I may edit the power descriptions to include their power cost.

Balanced = the stats/feats/powers/whatnot they should have for their level. Many NPCs aren't.
Color-coded = saber color, and maybe robe color, matches their class.

What tweaks have you made?

hmm... well i doubled the maximum attack range of all blasters...
other than that... just loads of mods that i didnt make myself


oh, and i increased the damage of standard disruptor weapons to the equivalent of blasters ("illegal on most planets because theyre considered very dangerous" my a**!)

oh and of course i made my own soundmod... ;)

Since I just started modding like in September I haven't really made any serious tweaks to my game yet, besides mods done by others (ULM and TSL Restoration).

I have however made some reskins which I currently use for TSL, and plan to use them in future mods. Visas Black Skin and Handmaidens LS Robe wich are very very very simple retextures. Ever since I played TSL I felt that there just wasn't enough variety in terms of body equipables (armor and robes). So in terms of tweaks this is my highest priority.

Keep trying. :) I too have run into some complicated modding issues and have found no solutions to them (yet).

For my first attempt at modding I sort of turned Malak into a Gizka...

So much for end boss... :lol:

* I made Calo more powerful and gave him dual sabers. (Both Battles)

* I made it so Bastila could go on Korriban.

* I made Darth Malak nearly impossible to beat.

* I turned Juhani into the first Asian PC Head.

by the way I've basically hardened both my KOTOR games (.utc editing, increasing awareness, adding weapons to weaker NPC's, things like that), and installed many mods like Coruscant added planet mod (K2), Ord Mandell's added planet (K1), Bastila's romance enhancement, Carth's romance fix, Stoffe's new force powers for K2, Handmaiden's hack mod, Mira's-Hanharr choice and much more bla bla bla; also done some clothes and dialog editing ...

good modding! :waive1:

I can claim credit as to making Hanharr into a Jedi in-game through dialog. I created portraits, Mandalorian armors as items, lightsabers in TSL (can't get them to work in K1), Light Side Handmaiden Robes, etc. I also use several mods from others.

well ive made a soundmod, but since there was no interest in it i havent released it (some sounds are from other mods, so id have to contact those mod authors and ask for permission and all that...)

i made a thread about it, but it got absolutely no replies...

"illegal on most planets because theyre considered very dangerous" my a**!Oh come on! That d4 damage can be very deadly! They can kill lots of things... eventually... after a couple of hours... if they don't move. I use them to kill ants all the time, only takes me a few minutes. Also great for lighting candles and heating up popcorn!

well doubling the range hasnt really made the enemies attack me from farther away... and i cant attack them from too far away either... there seems to be some kind of maximum visual range in the game... but now i dont have to go real close to use holdout blaster and stuff like that...
