UPDATED 10-26-08
This is an updated list of ongoing restoration work for KOTR I and for resources that remain in the file set of the offical original release that were not used or active but that remain intact. Some have already made some of these files active in mods and work is ongoing to continue to make more restorations.

It is good to see people continuing the restoration work and focusing on specific projects within it, both as individuals and teams. Check the list below and see if there is a project that you are interested in, much remains to be done: this is a list of restoration subjects and areas that are possible, some very large which would require major individual teams of their own to complete, and some needing only tweaks and final polishing.

The core of these posts were created and updated until four months ago by Eniena on the Team Jawa Forum but that group has become quiet and the list has not been updated, so I wanted to share this list here as it is very complete and detailed and helps in continuing restoration work.

If you have corrections or suggestions please let me know.

Also I would suggest that any please submitt any new restoration mods to the official LucasArts mod site, LucasFiles as they will vet the mod and approve it under their Terms of Use agreement as I feel it is very important for us to follow their wishes in our use of the game files under the EULA and permissions we agree to in playing the game.

Offical LucasArts Mod Site:

http://www.lucasfiles.com/

The link for submissions is here:

http://www.lucasfiles.com/?s=&action=submit

These are the TERMS of USE that govern approved mods on the LucasFiles site and it is worthy to post them here as they govern in principle all approved mods for the game:

One of the most important clauses is this one:

(b) Assignment. To the extent the Fan Games contain material that consists of or is derived from Source Material (as defined in Attachment B to these Terms of Use which is incorporated herein by this reference) and to the extent LF Networks agrees, in its sole discretion, to allow such use, you acknowledge that the Fan Games are in whole or in part derivative from the Source Material, that you have no right, title or interest in and to anything contained in or derived from the Source Material, and that you irrevocably assign to LF Networks any and all right, title and interest you may be deemed to have in any materials contained in or derived from the Source Materials.

We as players are given clear notice that LucasArts retains all rights and titles to all content and any use of that content in any mod in any form and assign them license to any such mods for KOTR and all of their published games.

2.6. Submission and Licensing of Game Mods.

(a) Submissions. As used herein, the term "Fan Games" means modifications made to one or more of the Games and/or the Pictures by a private individual solely for such individual's personal entertainment and not for any commercial purpose (i.e. "Game Mods"). All Fan Games to be submitted hereunder for consideration must be submitted electronically to LF Network at the following address on the World Wide Web:

No other submissions will be considered, and you agree that under no circumstances shall you submit any Fan Games to LucasArts, Lucasfilm or
any of their respective affiliated entities. All Fan Games are subject to the Lucas Submission Policies, which policies may be modified from time to time in LucasArts’ sole discretion. A copy of the Lucas Submission Policies as of the Effective Date is attached as Attachment A to these Terms of Use and incorporated herein by this reference. Please note that LucasArts’ company policy does not allow it to accept or consider creative ideas, suggestions, or materials other than those it has specifically requested. Accordingly, we must request that no visitors to the Site submit or send any original creative materials, including but not limited to submissions of scripts, story lines, fan fiction, characters, drawings, information, suggestions, ideas or concepts to LucasArts directly. Any Fan Games submissions not made through the official Fan Games submission web page on the LF Network site will be treated as "Submissions" pursuant to the Lucas Submission Policies.

(c) License. By submitting any Fan Games hereunder, you agree that: you are granting LF Network a license to such Fan Games in accordance with the license terms set forth in these Terms of Use, including, without limitation, Attachment B hereto.

2.7. Reservation of Rights. Any rights not expressly granted by LF Network herein are reserved. 3.1. NEITHER LF NETWORK NOR ANY PROVIDER OF CONTENT FOR THE SITE(OTHER THAN USERS OF THE SITE) OR THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE, FREE FROM VIRUSES OR SECURITY BREACHES; NOR DOES LF NETWORK, ANY PROVIDER OF CONTENT TO THE SITE (OTHER THAN USERS OF THE SITE), OR THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS MAKE ANY WARRANTY AS TO THE RESULTS TO BE OBTAINED FROM USE OF THE SITE. THE SITE CONTENT IS NOT GUARANTEED TO BE ACCURATE, TIMELY OR VERIFIED. THE SITE AND THE SITE CONTENT ARE DISTRIBUTED STRICTLY ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. LF NETWORK AND ITS AGENTS DO NOT MAKE ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF TITLE OR WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE SITE, ANY CONTENT, OR ANY GOODS OR SERVICES SOLD THROUGH THE SITE. YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SITE AND THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF THE CONTENT OR DATA MADE AVAILABLE VIA THE SITE IS ASSUMED SOLELY BY YOU.

3.2. NEITHER LF NETWORK, ANY THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDER NOR THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SITE, EVEN IF SUCH PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

3.3. WITHOUT WAIVING THE EXCLUSIVE GOVERNING LAW CLAUSE BELOW, SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IN SUCH STATES, THE LIABILITY OF LF NETWORK, THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDERS, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

INJUNCTIVE RELIEF. You acknowledge and agree that a breach or threatened breach of any covenant contained in this Agreement would cause irreparable injury, that money damages would be an inadequate remedy and that LF Network and/or LucasArts shall be entitled to temporary and permanent injunctive relief, without the posting of any bond or other security, to restrain you, from such breach or threatened breach. Nothing in this Section 4 shall be construed as preventing LF Networks and/or LucasArts from pursuing any and all remedies available to it, including the recovery of money damages from you. Accordingly, LucasArts is an intended third party beneficiary of this Agreement.

GENERAL TERMS.
5.1. Arbitration. You agree that any claim or controversy arising out of or related to these Terms of Use or the Site will be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Such arbitration will take place in Marin County, California and you hereby consent to such venue. Any such claim or controversy will be arbitrated solely on an individual basis and will not be consolidated with a claim of any other party. The Arbitrator may not change the terms of these Terms of Use or the manner by which the Site is operated and may not award any injunctive or other equitable relief. Notwithstanding the aforementioned, nothing set forth in these Terms of Use, including, without limitation, this Section 5.1, will preclude LF Networks or LucasArts from seeking any injunctive relief for protection of any aspect of the Site, including without limitation the Site Content, Source Material and/or Site Code.

5.2. Relationship Between the Parties. Nothing contained in these Terms of Use shall be construed to constitute you and LF Network as partners or joint venturers or to constitute employment or any type of agency.

5.3. Severability. If any provision of these Terms of Use is held invalid, unenforceable or void, the remainder of the Terms of Use shall not be affected thereby and shall continue in full force and effect.

5.4. Full Integration. These Terms of Use (including the attachments hereto)constitute the entire agreement between you and LF Network related to the Site. No prior or contemporaneous written, oral, and electronic representation, negotiation, or agreement form a part of this agreement, and these Terms of Use supersede all prior written, oral, or electronic agreements between you and LF Network relating to the Site.

5.5. Written Agreement. These Terms of Use constitute a written agreement between you and LF Network. A printed version of these Terms of Use, and of any notice given in electronic form related to this agreement, shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings to the same extent, and subject to the same restrictions, as other business contracts, documents, or records originally generated and maintained in printed form.

Lord Jedi, at this point, this is an effort to gather information and to seek help from Team JAWA as they are willing, respectul that this effort has been theirs and the decisions about what they have achieved are totally theirs as well. It is toally up to them and their team members what continues from what they have done, and how it might be shared, and I am only a very interested helper in any such effort.

Yes I did note there has been work done on the Lost Rataka Temple and on Sleheyron. I will start a list of people who are able to help and that you are interested in skinning and beta testing. Pls PM me with your contact info, experience and what software and or tools you might have. Thanks very much.

Hopefully Team Jawa and other ongoing efforts of restoration will coordinate and allocate effort so as not to duplicate things. No word yet from any of the Jawa team on what their future is so I will post the complete listing from their site here for those working on ongong mod work and wait to see if any further effort will be useful in the way of archiving incomplete resources or if anyone indeed wants that. :)

FYI, restoration of #49 made by Sekan can be found here:

Also, some of your links don't work, like for #42. Seems to have chopped off the end of the link name.

#22. A Gammorean stronghold in the Undercity.

I've starting working on this since no-one seems to want to do it.

I'm mostly doing it for practice but it's 30%~ done right now. :)

I can see why they would cut it though...

Darth333 released a mod a while back that not only enable the option, it also featured HK-47 voiceovers I have never heard in any of my playthroughs of KOTOR. This may very well mean that Bioware did indeed remove the option to kill Luka.

I can also see their reasons behind the deletion. After all, there aren't many merchants in KOTOR that deal in goods mean't for droids.

MOD LINK - http://www.geocities.com/d333mods/other.html
FYI Bioware didn't delete that option. The Yuka Laka mod is not restored content: it was my idea (and my first kotor mod :p ). I made the voice overs from cutting/pasting/editing other in game sound files.

Thank you very much Darth333, the list I posted is from the Team JAWA site posted by Eniana in August of 07, I will add a note with your correction and thank you very much. That was very kind of you to notify on this.

As i add to and edit the list, there have been some errors on the part of the internal posting coding and some items may not appear sometimes, please PM me for a total and complete updated list at any time thanks, and we appreciate the great efforts of Team Jawa and share this hopefully with their permission in an attempt to at least preserve their efforts and help others continue. 2. In order to make the deadline for this game, an alternate ending for dark side females was cut.

The ending took place when Carth comes to the star forge to speak to you one last time. From there you could choose to redeem yourself by killing Bastila and stop her using her battle meditation on the sith forces. However, in doing this, the player and Carth lose precious time in escaping from the star forge and remain on the star forge as republic forces destroy the star forge.

(Alot of fans have voiced their disdain over this ending being cut and I can see why. Just when you think you can end the game with you conquering the universe, you can suddenly find yourself saving it
This is actauly already been restored by JdNoa. Here is a link to where it's hosted http://www.geocities.com/jdnoa/index.htm

I am working to restore the links in the initial list but for some reason the forum board code was deleting things as i edited. I will keep trying. sorry about that and yes we will try to get a home for all essential files, we are working on that now. :)

CrisG

There is a distinction between restored and new mods, as much as possible I will try to keep updated a list of restorable content, and to indicate whether it is orignal i.e. LucasArts/Biowar or combined original and newly created material. It is possible now with the tools created thus far by the community to actually open, edit and create new dialogue paks, modules and items for the game. I encourage any who seek to restore or add to original material to post their mods on the official LucasArts Lucasfiles forum for approval.

I will hopefully try to gather up the mods that restore content into a collection that is accessible as a unit, but that will take some time to research and collect. I will try to continue to update and correct links for the list which I am moving to the bottom of this thread, so that I can include the correcitons, at this point, this board does not allow me to post the entire list in one post so I will have to break it down into smaller units, and do multiple posts, for which I appologize and hope the mods will forgive me. :)

Thank you Lantzen, I will update the list as soon as I consult with the admins here to be sure i can get text updated IN a list without losing more of it than I add, but thanks for that note about a completed restoration.

DarthDingDong, thanks, ys, there is a LOT of wonderful info here gathered by valiant members of the community and of ongoing efforts to make KOTR the even better masterpeice it can be....and that is a very nice modding forum you have, may I add it's address as a resource? :)

Theres also a mod called "Evil Temple Mod" that do so you can enter the Rakatan tempel on the Unknown world solo. But in it some of Juhannis lines on the tempel top have been restored (Didnt see anything about it in the post) . You can get her to turn to the darkside. If i remeber correctly it's a littel buggy, so maybe one of the modders want to look in to that last part with Juhanni goes DS ?

@CrisG: If you have time you could update your first post woth evrything that have been released, so it won't be so hard to find the released stuff. Now you have to scroll thourgh alot of things that just info, and some of the links is just pictures. Just thinking it would be easier to find the mods ^^

Evil Temple 1.0 was released by Messkell in 2004 and hosted on PCGameMod which closed. The thread from this forum on this mod and another by Messkell is here:

http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=134602

As this is a mod and not an actual restoration of lost orignal content, I will probably not add this to the list, nor could I find a current download as PCGameMod closed and the other current mod libraries don't seem to have a copy of this mod. thanks.

I will update that first post asap, as i find out what the problem was with updating, each time i put new info or updated the forum code would drop five or ten of the existing entries. So that was why I moved the list down. I am working on three different SW games right now so have a full schedule but will try to get info on this asap.

The primary part of that mod aint restoration, but it still resote some dialougs. That's why i wanted a modder to take a look at it, so maybe they could just restore those part. Juhani goes DS is a pretty big cut

Master List of Restoration Resources KOTR I Updated Jan 21, 2008 CG

It is VERY good to see people continuing the restoration work and focusing on specific projects within it, there were some files that were left in the official release of KOTR I that were not used actively and these offer possiblities of enhancing and expanding the game while still keepting to the orignal developers' intent and overall plan. Team JAWA planned some of these and others have independently continued this work, these efforts are detailed here as much as possible, please PM me any corrections or suggestions for inclusion, full or partial restorations of original LucasArts materials only please.

http://team-jawa.kotor2files.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=162&st=0&sk=t&sd=a#p1873

This was an excellent and very Extensive List of Cut Content that was created and updated by Eniena and posted to on the Team JAWA site which gives full details of much that can be restored or that might be restored to a KOTR I (R) (restored). We are considering trying to assemble a "master" pack of all current available pure restorations, not mods, and will see if that can be developed to aid players and the community.

So, this is a list of restoration subjects and areas that are possible, some very large which would require major individual teams of their own to complete, and some needing only tweaks and final polishing. This post was created and updated until four months ago by Eniena on the Team Jawa Forum which likewise has not seen new posts other than mine in some time.
I wanted to share this list here as it is very complete and detailed and helps in continuing restoration work. If Team Jawa does choose to continue I hope that they sort out organization and delegation of tasks, or that new efforts coordiate so that the effort goes to the best place.

Being the somewhat avid collector I am, I've compiled and numbered this list of cut content found either by myself or by
others.

All credit goes to... whoever found these pieces of deleted goodness. My memory isn't exactly perfect, though you know who you are... you little cut content finders, you.

Credit also goes to - Dan Loto: For providing information for #36, #37, #55 and #56
Darth Balor: For providing information for #57
Sekan: For providing information for #58
Wolf: For providing extra information for #33
Miltiades: For providing information for #53

In addition, I've also provided links so people can see the content for themselves. However, the majority of the mods I've played are pretty buggy (Shuma the Hutt , Juhani Romance Mod, Bastila And Revan - Untold Love Story and Deadeye Duncan on Manaan.) In some special cases, I've provide links to patches for these mods.

If I come across anymore cut content, I'll update this list so as to keep up to date.
---
#1. The Taris arena fighter Deadeye Duncan survived the events of the planet and would show up on Manaan.

He reveals that he's trying to become a mercenary and is finding it hard to find work due to his reputation. He asks your character if he can use your "Mysterious Stranger" name as a way to fix his reputation.

Deadeye Duncan on Maahan Restoration (Darth33)
http://www.geocities.com/d333mods/other.html (During Deadeye's dialogue about how he escaped from Taris, no subtitles appear for one of his replies. So, unless you're a really good listener, you're going to have to deal with having no subtitles for one portion of this dialogue. However, there is another reply in which Duncan gives the same reply but with subtitles this time around. Bioware must've forgot to fix this bug in the dialogue file.

Also, he doesn't run off as soon as you've finished speaking with him. This means that you pretty much can exploit the dialogue options to get an infinite number of LS and/or DS points.)

Seamhainn Restoration

An alternative mod retoring Deadeye Duncan to Maanan is completed, Seamhainn has done a new mod from scratch for this including a more seamless departure by Duncan at the end so no more exploiting the dialog options for extra points. This new mod is released and completed great work Seamhainn. The official release thread and discussion can be found here:

Just when you think you can end the game with you conquering the universe, you can suddenly find yourself saving it.

Considering there isn't a complete scene of the Star Forge falling to its destruction without the Ebon Hawk escaping it, the best way I can imagine this restored ending giving way to the credits would come right after the scene in which Master Vandar says "but where is the Ebon Hawk and her crew?", Fade to black and... It's over!

Got to love these kind of endings, huh?)

#3. The planet Sleheyron along with its corresponding Star Map, mentioned as the volcanic planet in the Dantooine computer.
Sleheyron Restoration IN PROGRESS
Sithspecter and Team
http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=186244

Yuthura Ban's backstory included Sleheyron in it, in a tribute to the work done on Sleheyron that was cut. This was a Hutt world of smuggling and Hutt crime lords that was drab and dull and industrial, and the developers planned an extensive and complex storyline that involved plots and assasinations and fighting in the notoroius arenas, with teams, and you could intrigue and romance the opposing teams, one of the Hutt lords had a manor that you could infiltrate by various means including a romance with one of the servants met in a cantina. There is an archived thread on the old Biowar archives for the game on the Biowar site that has the lead writer for the game, David Gaider discussing his plans for Sleheyron and how far things had progressed before the planet was cut from the game at this link, thanks Dan Loto for this great info (1-26-08 CG):

#4. An extension of the Taris Swoop Bike quest, in which a second level exists in the Vulkar base and the player has to disguise himself as a Vulkar to infiltrate it.

(The module for this unused portion of the game still exists. However, it's incomplete.)

#5. In the fight with Rulan Prolack (the shape changing alien you're sent to kill for the Genoharadan), he always transforms into Jolee. However it seems he was at one time meant to transform into any one of your NPC's, even your PC.

#6. There was an alternate way into the Sith base on Taris. The junior sith officers you meet in the cantina could later be talked to at the party for a chance to buy a pass card into the base.

#7. As a "reward" for rescuing Shen and Rahasia, the PC had the option to make an... indecent proposal (Shen for female PC, Rahasia for male) shortly before Ahlan and Nurick show up.

(This is a modified version of the DLG associated with Davik's female slave. I removed the original dialogue the author made for Mission, due mostly to the fact that I really can't stand new dialogue lines without authentic voiceovers.
In addition, I also added action brackets to a line of dialogue.)

#9. An arguement between a Master and his apprentice on was supposed to take place on Dantooine.

The argument involves an angry student who is angry because his master (who is a Twilek) won't allow him to practice with a lightsaber.

Here's a transcript of the argument itself.

---
Garrum: This is futile master! Why must you keep me back like this? Why can I not learn to fight with a real lightsaber?

Tareelok: Do not underestimate the strength of your Cortosis blade, young padawan.

Garrum: It is not a lightsaber! It is nothing!

Tareelok: And perhaps that is the reason you have not advanced to lightsaber training.

You are too headstrong, too overeager to move on without the knowledge necessary to use what you learn.

A lightsaber is a delicate and subtle weapon. One that can cause great harm to its weilder if not used properly.

I believe we have trained enough for now. Reflect on what you have learned, Padawan. Through learning comes knowledge.

Garrum: There is no ignorance. There is knowledge.

Yes, Master. Thank you.
---

Afterwards, the player could talk to Tareelok and Garrum.

The dialogue takes place in the module entitled "danm13_s.rim"

#10. You could compete in a Pazaak tournament on Manaan.

#11. The Sith patrol you meet in the Undercity was at one time in the sewers (or possibly it was a second patrol) and were much harder to fool (you'd have to show your papers and then pass a persuade check).

#12. A little bit of unused dialogue near the beginning, Carth tells the PC to go back to sleep until their injuries heal.

#13. During your adventures on Manaan, you could partake in a side quest to find out what happened to an Echani mercenary's friends.

#14. More bits of dialogue seem to suggest that Jolee and the PC were meant to fight together in the Shadow Lands before he officially joined your party. Perhaps against the Katarns you see him kill?

#15. After deciding who would rescue you, Carth and Bastila on the Leviaithan, there was supposed to be a quick cutscene where Carth, Bastila, and the PC are shown being taken prisoner by the Sith boarding party.

A sound file associated with this content can be found in "\streamwaves\m40aa\cuts01"

#16. A possibility to buy parts for the Swoop Bike. On the Swoop Track on Tatooine, when the player talks to a racer named Nico, he can still ask Nico where there's a place to buy upgrades for the swoop bike. Bioware forgot to cut this dialogue.

#17. If the player didn't kill Juhani, the Jedi Belaya, from the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, was supposed to have been captured and kept as a prisoner aboard the Leviathan. She would later discovered to have died in captivity.

#18. As with other team configurations, if Juhani and Canderous were part of the player's team, they were supposed to have dialog with each other. Specifically about the Mandalorian invasion of Cathar.

MOD LINK - http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Dialogue_Pack;81241
(NOTE: Contains alot of original dialogue inserted by the author. If you're a KOTOR purist like I am and prefer voice dialogue, you might not think much of the original dialogue. Though the cut content is worth it.)

#19. An alternate Star Map scenario where the map is located in the maw of a sarlacc. The player must navigate an underground Rakatan temple in order to locate the pit, and then figure out how to get to the map without getting eaten.
[Dan Lotto Update 10-08] : After the interview with David Gaider, we know that it’s not a Rakatan Temple but a dungeon. .

There's a sound file associated with this quest that still exists. It can be found in "\streamwaves\m44aa\wrai06" {DL} And about the sound file…that actually goes in the Rakatan Temple on the Unknown world. It’s not related to the dungeon. They are seperate pieces of content

Mod files go in the KOTR Modules Directory

You need to start a new game to encounter Shuma. An alternative way would be to warp to the module, but you should not have visited Dantooine before (from Taris or Unknown World for example). This is an authentic restoration of original Biowar/LucasArts dialogue files for a Hutt business being who was trapped on Dantooine by the war, it is not known if he survived later events. [Posted as Item #60. see below]

#25. Passive Iriaz originally roamed the plains of Dantooine. That's right, other creatures roamed the plains and didn't attack you on sight.

MOD DOWNLOAD - http://team-jawa.kotor2files.com/download.php

BONUS TRIVIA - Not only do the Iriaz appear in Rickard's dialogue, you can get a brief glimpse of one while you're on Taris.

When you're in Davik's estate, enter Calo Nord's room (It's the room with the giant Rancor head on the wall) and look on the walls to the right. Notice the greenish looking alien head with the horns? Congratulations, you have just seen the only appearance of the Iriaz in the official Bioware release of KOTOR.

#26. You could go swoop racing on Kashyyyk, Dantooine and Korriban.

#27. A third area of the Kashyyyk Shadowlands could be accessed.[It is a lower level beneath the second level and some of the areas were created but are mostly empty, with very little content in them].

There are some fun surprises for the player now in this restored additional area of Shadowlands, play and enjoy and congrats to Seamhainn and DarthJebus for more great restoration.

#28. Apparently it was possible that Revan could discover a datapad written by Elassa to her Sith Master shortly before her death, inside the Sith Embassy. In it she says that she doesn't believe Sunry knew anything of value, and actually intended to murder him on the very same night the jilted Sunry killed her. Ironically, while Sunry had killed her in cold blood, he had unknowingly prevented his own death at the same time.

#29. Bastila was originally allowed to accompany you during your trip to Korriban. This is evidenced by dialogue and voices that still exist in the game files. [A restoration of these would be a nice project for someone, possibly using a recrutable mod as a kernel for a restored Bastilla using her animations and rote responses to put her back in for this section, and then she could return to the ship before entering the Temple Ed. #31. It appears as though nearly every one of your NPC teammates had something to say after you find the Star Map in Naga Shadow's tomb. However, as we all know, only your character is allowed to enter Naga Shadow's tomb.

#32. Although a majority of the cut content was during gameplay, Bioware either forgot or cut out a small number of CGI movies.

NEW RESTORSTIONS: by Zybl2
http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/New_BIK_Movies_Restoration;95382

Upon looking at the list of movies on my Xbox version of KOTOR, I decided to write down a small list of the movies in question.

Filenames corrispond to names of movies you find in the "movies" directory of your KOTOR game directory.

05_1c - The Ebon Hawk Escapes Taris (Although this cutscene is in the game, Bioware apparently forgot to add in the appropriate data in order for it to become availible in the "Movies" menu once you see in during the game. This is a dramatic sequence in which you escape from the city and you see the bombardment and destruction of Taris, very well done)

05_9 - The Ebon Hawk Enters The Battle Near The Star Forge (Set before the ingame cutscene in which you contact Admiral Dodona, this small yet very well done cutscene for some reason never appears in the game. It would've made quite a nice little introduction to the Admiral Dodona scene.) [Ed Note: CG: this would be a very nice restoration for some skilled coder from the community to restore and insert this vid back in the game.]

07_3 - The Ebon Hawk Escapes The Sith Marauders - Variation 1 (Apparently, if you survived the random space ambuses long enough, this scene would've played. I've played the minigame a hundred times and have never been able to get this cutscene.)

07_4 - The Ebon Hawk Escapes The Sith Marauders - Variation 1a (The same as the movie above, but in a reversed camera shot.)

56b - Ebon Hawk Escapes Destruction Of The Star Forge (Although this cutscene is in the game, Bioware apparently forgot to add in the appropriate data in order for it to become availible in the "Movies" menu once you see in during the game.)

"I managed to create a mod that corrects those issues. You can find it here. (That's my first mod! )

#33 (Thanks to Wolf for providing extra information). After purchasing HK-47 on Tattooine and talking to Yuka Luka again, HK-47 will ask whether or not you'll allow him to fufill his life long dream of killing Yuka. Unfortunatley, you're forced to deny HK-47 this.

Upon further examination of the replies you can select for his request, it feels as though Bioware might've made it possible to allow HK-47 to kill Yuka Luka and put you in combat with the droid merchant.

Further examination of the shop reveals a large amount of inactive droids. It's possible that, if attacked, the droids activated in order to protect Yuka. This means that not only did you get dark side points, but a chance at gaining some extra XP as well.

Darth333 released a mod a while back that not only enables the option, it also featured HK-47 voiceovers I have never heard in any of my playthroughs of KOTOR. This may very well mean that Bioware did indeed remove the option to kill Luka.

I can also see their reasons behind the deletion. After all, there aren't many merchants in KOTOR that deal in goods mean't for droids.

[Correction Jan 2008: From Darth333: FYI Bioware didn't delete that option. The Yuka Laka mod is not restored content: it was my idea (and my first kotor mod ). I made the voice overs from cutting/pasting/editing other in game sound files.]

And also Davik says "Make it quick, Calo. The Sith mean business. If we don't get to our ships and find somewhere safe, the bombs they're dropping will kill us all." Not to mention that Davik and Calo come running from out of nowhere a.k.a. the wall seperating the two hangers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a fairly small mod made to restore the cut content in the Lower City. On the list of cut content this was number 37. I won't restore the swoop droid which was cut because someone else is doing that but the things that I will/will-not are:

1-A cut Black Vulkar Rodian who attacks you if you talk to him-have

2-Cut Hidden Bek gang members-have

3-Cut pedestrians-I added the ones that make sense for the area. Some of the people talk like they're in the cantina/swoop track so it wouldn't make sence for the area.

4-Three cut "swoop platforms"-I added people walking randomly on the platform South of the elevator to the Undercity. I added a Bek vs Vulkar battle on the platform North of the Vulkar base and a Sith vs. Vulkar battle on the platform South of the base.-have

MOD FORUM TOPIC:
http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=186181

Description of Cut Content
(Provided by Dan Loto).

By looking at Tar_m03aa_S in kotor tool it looks like there's a lot of dialog in the lower city that wasn't used.

If you look at some of the dialog for Tar_m03aa (Taris Lower City) it looks like that the swoop track was originally accessible from there. An example would be in this piece of a Sith Troopers dialog.

"This area is off limits because of the riot after the last race! You Tarisians couldn't handle crowd control, so we're shutting down the swoop track. Just move along!"

And a janitor.

"Gotta sweep and clean. Gotta have this place sparkly-shiny for when the crowds show up."

There's a bit more but those lines some it up. I think if there was an entrance to the swoop track it would be somewhere between the elevator to the Undercity and the door to the apartment circle where the short scene with Canderous happens.

One final thing are two dialog files which say "Trigger for bek base is to the left, beside this terminal." and "3ab to the left, 3ad to the right" The second one sounds like module names for the two apartment complexes in the Lower City.

#38. One of the more interesting subplots of KOTOR involves your character's relationship with Juhani.

There are files for this dialogue still exists in Juhani's dialogue file. We do not know what Biowar/LA intended for them.

(NOTE: Contains alot of new dialogue inserted by the mod author. If you're a KOTOR purist like I am and prefer voice dialogue, you might not think much of the original dialogue. Though the cut content is worth it.)

#39. Considering the fact that this is an RPG game, one of the ideas Bioware must've have been toying with was how many times players could level up. Even I was a little dissapointed that you could only reach a level 20 with your character before you could no longer level up.

#40. Shortly after you learn that Juhani's last home planet was Taris, you could talk to her again to learn about how the prejudice and racism of other people affected her life on Taris.

#41. In an early build of KOTOR, Uthar Wynn looked completely different. He resembled one of the sith who usually attack you during your travels. Thankfully, Bioware decided to give him a unique look and thus the bald tattooed Uthar we've all come to know and love replaced this look.

Also, it appears as though some rooms in the sith academy on Korriban were removed. The doors next to some of the hallways actually opened and you could access new rooms.

Thought it was strange you could only get into the library during KOTOR 2? Well, it appears Bioware had plans to include a library at the academy in KOTOR.

I've provided a picture that shows evidence of these pieces of cut content.

http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/xbox/kotor/0715/k_screen004.jpg

#42 - In early builds, you could actually talk to a bith. You know the aliens who played the famous cantina music from "A New Hope"? Those were biths.

You could talk to the bith in question on Korriban. Apparently, the bith provided information on the academy and how to get in.

#43. Originally, if you had been doing the Carth romance sidequest, a dialogue with Carth revealed he was much more devastated with your character being Revan than he was in the final version of the game.

MOD LINK - http://www.cjt0202.net/carth_romance.php (Files to unlock this conversation are located in the "bonus" folder within the archive.)

#44. During the development of this game, Bioware inserted a robot character that performed multiple things like adding members to your party, checking variables and changing the planet you were on.

Obviously, this piece of content was used only for development purposes and was (obviously) removed from the final version of the game.

Kind've makes me wish I could have such an unfair yet satisfying edge with my copy of Dynasty Warriors 4.

#45. Early versions of the story included a subplot involving clones. Unfortunately, Lucasfilms ordered that this part of the story be cut in order to avoid giving away possible spoilers for "Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones".

#46. A Czerka depot could've been found on Korriban along with a quest involving the president of Czerka operations on Korriban. {There was evidently quite a bit of Czerka content originally planned for Korriban}

If you wanted another chance to fight Czerka's corruption on the galaxy, this might've been your chance... until Bioware cut it from the game

#52. At one point, you encounter an injured dark apprentice.

Voices associated with this can be found in "streamwaves\m44aa\injs03".

{Dan Lotto Update: 10-08> This takes place in the Rakitan Temple on the Unkown World.

#53 (Thanks goes to Militades for providing information). The player could go back to Dantooine after escaping the Leviathan.

The player could fight the sith occupying the destroyed enclave and look for survivors.

#54. Due to a small glitch in a dialogue file Bioware forgot to fix, conversation between Juhani and Canderous that takes place on Kashyyyk is never heard in the final version of the game

If you have KOTOR Tool, you should be able to remedy this.

INSTRUCTIONS

Just open RIMs/Modules/kas_m22aa_s.rim and find 22aa_zaalb02_01.dlg under dialog. Just move Juhani’s branch below Canderous’ and save the file to your override folder

#55 (Provided by Dan Loto) - Komad Furtuna (the Twi'lek hunter on Tatooine) had a lot of cut dialog.

Appearantly the mines that he plants to kill the Krayt Dragon are effective in weakening it to the point it can be attacked.

You had the option of helping him fight it or just standing back and letting him do his own dirty work... for once.

#56 (Provided by Dan Loto) - Some jawa NPCs were apparently cut from tat_m18aa.

#57 (Provided by Darth Balor) - Beleya's UTC file has scripts which show that Beleya originally could become a member of your party.

#58 (Provided by Sekan) - A lightsaber crystal called Wookie amulet was cut from the game as evidence by it's template and other information found in upgrade.2da

The Template has the name "kas25_wookcrysta" which means you originally found it in the upper Shadowlands (the name of the upper shadowlands rim file is m25aa).

UPDATE: from Sekan (1-27-08) There is a mod that puts this crystal back in the game made by Cate Croft and the mod can be found on her website here along with a description of what the PC needs to do to get the crystal with her mod:

This is a link to an excellent and very Extensive List of Cut Content that was created and updated by Eniena and posted to on the Team JAWA site which gives full details of much that can be restored or that might be restored to a KOTR I (R) (restored). We are considering trying to assemble a "master" pack of all current available pure restorations, not mods, and will see if that can be developed to aid players and the community.

# 59. [K1] Garrum and Tar'eelok Restoration

Main Mod file:

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Garrum_and_Tareelok_Restoration;85948
(goes in modules directory)

Important Dialogue File:

http://files.filefront.com/dan13+cortzip/;9472225;/fileinfo.html
(goes in Override directory)

Athor: Sekan and Seamhainn

DESCRIPTION: This mod restores two jedi knights on dantooine: Garrum and Tar'eelok. They where supposed to have a discusion about why Garrum can't train with a lightsaber. Later on you could ask Tar'eelok about the Jedi and much more.

Important: They will spawn in the training room after [main PC has ] talked to the co[u]ncil the first time.

Important2: This mod uses Shuma the hutt restoration so the mods won't conflict. So if you see a hutt on Dantooie don't panic.

#60. [K1] Restoration of Shuma the Hutt
Seamhainn

http://www.embdena.de/images_beitraege/downloads/Shuma.rar

Mod files go in the KOTR Modules Directory

You need to start a new game to encounter Shuma. An alternative way would be to warp to the module, but you should not have visited Dantooine before (from Taris or Unknown World for example). This is an authentic restoration of original Biowar/LucasArts dialogue files for a Hutt business being who was trapped on Dantooine by the war, it is not known if he survived later events.

#61. (K1) Restoration of Lower Level of Black Vulkar Base
Seamhainn and DarthJebus

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Restoration_of_the_Black_Vulkar_Base;85770x#146032 5

Mod restores the third lower level of the Black Vulkar Base including NPC's and dialogue, using original files and keeping as much as possible to the intent of Biowar and LucasArts. You must start a new game or warp into this area to see the restored material. Seamhainn created this mod and then with the help of DarthJebus they added english in game content labels to the doors and other tweaks.

I know the module and .dlg file - it's just that I don't know what you mean by: Just move Juhani’s branch below Canderous’ and save the file to your override folderAs you can see from the original file in KoTOR Tool, Juhani has a joint convo with Canderous already. She also has a separate set of dialogue if you (I think) choose her by her lonesome: http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/3139/dlgvp5.jpg

The Gamorrean Stronghold. I guess it didn't quote the quote.

Where exactly is this stronghold situated? And what is its purpose in the game?

The purpose is currently...lacking. I think that's why they cut it out. I used the unused door in the Undercity to warp to another module which reuses the undercity module. You appear in front of the would-be elevator in the "Gamorrean Village." I locked the gate so that the only way to leave the village is to go back to the Undercity. I have the Dialog for the Chief of the village already made. I have references to the Sewer dwellers and other outcast village as well as the Gangs and Sith.

I'm considering making a small "quest" where you go to look for a team of the Chief's Boars who were killed by Vulkars, but beyond that and an axe store, it's pretty pointless.

01-24-2008, 01:42 PM
I think when the player goes to the undercity, the developers original thought may have been to have a more complex storyline for you to experience there, so the restoration of this area may indeed have restoration merit. It might work to add some of the ghouls and perhaps some items and even possibly another crashed pod? That one republic officer was shortlived in my first play through and it might be nice to have another to meet....just a thought. It will be good to meet another Chief, sounds good what you are doing. Great to see this work expanding. :)

This mod sounds like it would be really interesting once its released. I have an idea for a storyline or at least a side quest where the chief tells you that his lot are at war with the slavers and thanks you for killing their boss. Then he asks you to mop up any that are left alive, or maybe rescue some from the Vulkar base. No? O well, I tried.

KI Restoration Mods Possible K1RP Pack List
Updated Jan 27, 2008 CG

That would be great, I have been updating this list for just such a possiblity, a Pack that would include all the restoration mods currently available. I was not sure who had the skills to make the pack but hopefully they will appear as things progress. I have found the following so far which appear to be entirely or mainly restoration mods that couild possibly be combined in a K1RP Pack of mods and resources, pls post any corrections, suggestions or additional info.

It is possible that a combined pack of mods that are purely restoration might be the main package and other add ons that enhance the game but are close to or idential in quality and features, such as fully spoken dialogue, and subtitles, and full game features might be gathered along with other mod resources for future restoration work.

Ok, I've edited your list. I removed the none restoration items, and duplicate lists. The DarthInsidious mods you posted are only a modders resource, not restoration. I am working on the Rakatan Temple and the Korriban Czerka area, as well as working on kashyyk with Seamhainn. I've also made a TSLpatcher mod that adds the Iriaz back into the modules. Really I don't think non restoration mods should be included with the restoration ones.

I can make a section on my Team-Exile forums that would hold all this info.
Also I can make the restoration installer. I do think that we should try and use only mods that are created for this pack or that we have permission to use.

CrisG
01-25-2008, 04:15 PM
excellent, i agree on all points and the next step will be to contact everyone to see if it is ok to include their mods in the pack and then to post it to the Lucasfiles site and get the offical ok from LA..at least that is my thinking at this point, open to everyone's suggestions. that is great news that you are working on the temple and the offices, it looks like we may have a true K1RP pack in fairly short order with everyone helping out. thanks again. and thanks for the offer to make the installer and to give this great work a home. I had contacted Filefront for hosting a restoration forum, but no home yet for a pack file.

Hey Chris, there is one thing that has me somewhat puzzled about the galaxymap.

If you look closely at where the Starforge system will appear on the map i think you will see a white dot there.

When i noticed this i also noticed several other dots on the map that has led me to believe that the develoopers originally put several more planets in the game the the released version has.

When i thought about this, it made me realize that the game would have been much more difficult if there where several planets that had broken starmaps. This would mean that until you learned where the functional starmaps where the game itself would be much more difficult, and longer.

Anyway, i just thought that i'd post this here so i could get it off my chest as it has been bugging me for some time now.

If you want i can edit this post with a guide to the exact location of every unused dot on the map.

CrisG
01-26-2008, 01:35 AM
Danyael, that would be great to know more about those locations I tend to agree with you after studying the map, and the years of posts about this myself, and indeed it would have been a larger and more complex game to have more worlds, or there is another possiblity which is moot at this point, that they may have intended to add more worlds over time for expansions as well.

EDIT and UPDATE: Check out this thread by the code master tk102, it describes the steps needed to mod new planet locations, so it appears that they did indeed design the possiblity of new "live content" into the game's future:
http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=127001

Sith re a home for a Restoration pack, I totally agree with you that any effort that I am involved with must have total permission from any and all mods that are included, so at this point it is a goal to aim for to have somewhere to host an eventual package of all the restorations, hopefully with the energy and work going on currently there will be a nice solid group of these restorations for such a collection soon. But i am in total agreement that the first and last principle of a community effort of any kind is total respect and permission of any and all authors and creators, as I am a professional creative person myself, this is very close to my own heart. :) thanks for the great point.

We will also want to be sure that all the mods are compatible and bug free, and throughly tested, so there is no hurry so we can do whatever everyone feels is good is done right and done correctly and respectfully in all ways. :)

Dan, that is an awesome interview running series of posts from David Gaider, I will try to get in touch with him, and will also make a summary of that info for the list, it sounds like the planet was only partly modeled, and the plot set but not completed ......that is some of the most detailed plot description of that planet i have seen yet, that is great to have for us to see.... got some of the update in the list, will finish the rest tomorrow. Actually there is a mod that does almost as you said. It can be found here (http://d9studios.net/mods/k1_wookiee.html)

Great Sekan, thanks for the link for that crystal I was looking for it last night to add to the list, Cate did a nice mod for that indeed.

Dan, ys, he seems to be around still, hopefully their working NDA's and all the rights for the game being with LucasArts will allow him to talk with us, it would be great to have more info on the game story and things that were planned but left out or cut. Thanks again for that lead.

What would be really cool is if they could give us a text document with the dialog in it and a collection of the models.

yes, i had thought of asking about that, if they have no plans for them, they must have everything stored on disk. It is good to have large dreams :)

it is worth asking about.

Perhaps it would be best if someone edited the already restored content to remove the original dialog?

Oh and would it be worth starting a separate thread where people can report any WIP content mods that they're working on? Just so people don't tread on other people's toes.

I also made a truncated version of the content list, just for simplicity's sake.

1. The Taris arena fighter Deadeye Duncan survived the events of the planet and would show up on Manaan. [RESTORED]

http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=185162

2. Alternate DS Female ending [RESTORED]

http://www.geocities.com/jdnoa/

3. The planet Sleheyron

4. An extension of the Taris Swoop Bike quest, in which a second level exists in the Vulkar base and the player has to disguise himself as a Vulkar to infiltrate it.

5. In the fight with Rulan Prolack (the shape changing alien you're sent to kill for the Genoharadan), he always transforms into Jolee. However it seems he was at one time meant to transform into any one of your NPC's, even your PC.

6. There was an alternate way into the Sith base on Taris. The junior sith officers you meet in the cantina could later be talked to at the party for a chance to buy a pass card into the base.

7. As a "reward" for rescuing Shen and Rahasia, the PC had the option to make an... indecent proposal (Shen for female PC, Rahasia for male) shortly before Ahlan and Nurick show [RESTORED] – But removes the gender requirement

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Bastila_Female_Revan_Untold_Love_Story;73255

8. Another alternate ending? In a possible dark side ending, Bastila mentions that the Star Forge is damaged and about to be destroyed, and you flee to the Ebon Hawk.

9. An arguement between a Master and his apprentice on was supposed to take place on Dantooine.

10. You could compete in a Pazaak tournament on Manaan.

11. A little bit of unused dialogue near the beginning, Carth tells the PC to go back to sleep until their injuries heal.

12. During your adventures on Manaan, you could partake in a side quest to find out what happened to an Echani mercenary's friends.

14. More bits of dialogue seem to suggest that Jolee and the PC were meant to fight together in the Shadow Lands before he officially joined your party. Perhaps against the Katarns you see him kill?

15. After deciding who would rescue you, Carth and Bastila on the Leviaithan, there was supposed to be a quick cutscene where Carth, Bastila, and the PC are shown being taken prisoner by the Sith boarding party.

16. A possibility to buy parts for the Swoop Bike. On the Swoop Track on Tatooine, when the player talks to a racer named Nico, he can still ask Nico where there's a place to buy upgrades for the swoop bike. Bioware forgot to cut this dialogue.

17. If the player didn't kill Juhani, the Jedi Belaya, from the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, was supposed to have been captured and kept as a prisoner aboard the Leviathan. She would later discovered to have died in captivity.

18. As with other team configurations, if Juhani and Canderous were part of the player's team, they were supposed to have dialog with each other. Specifically about the Mandalorian invasion of Cathar. [RESTORED] -ISH

MOD LINK - http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.file...ogue_Pack;81241
(NOTE: Contains alot of original dialogue inserted by the author. If you're a KOTOR purist like I am and prefer voice dialogue, you might not think much of the original dialogue. Though the cut content is worth it.)

19. An alternate Star Map scenario where the map is located in the maw of a sarlacc. The player must navigate an underground Rakatan temple in order to locate the pit, and then figure out how to get to the map without getting eaten.

There's a sound file associated with this quest that still exists. It can be found in "\streamwaves\m44aa\wrai06"

PICTURES - http://www.lucasforums.com/showthre...37&page=3&pp=40 (Keep scrolling down and you'll find them.)

20. A trash compactor puzzle in the Taris Sewers.

21. A quest that would have allowed the player to become a sort of Messiah of the Sandpeople and lead them against their Czerka corporation oppressors.

22. A Gammorean stronghold in the Undercity. [Restoration work is 60% complete on this, Dan Lotto Restoration Engineer, 1-21-08 CG ]

23. An extended romance .dlg for Carth with a Female Revan, for a better executed beach Scene. [RESTORED]

http://www.cjt0202.net/mods/K1CarthRomance1.1.zip

24. Shuma the Hutt originally could be found in the Jedi enclave. Due in part to recent events, Shuma was granted asylum in the enclave. [RESTORED]

http://team-jawa.kotor2files.com/download.php

25. Passive Iriaz originally roamed the plains of Dantooine. That's right, other creatures roamed the plains and didn't attack you on sight. [RESTORED]

http://team-jawa.kotor2files.com/download.php

26. You could go swoop racing on Kashyyyk, Dantooine and Korriban.

27. A third area of the Kashyyyk Shadowlands could be accessed.[It is a lower level beneath the second level and some of the areas were created but are mostly empty, with very little content in them]. [WIP]

29. CG] [RESTORED]

http://members.shaw.ca/t7nowhere/fi...on_Korriban.rar

30. Juhani had some dialogue after you escape from the Leviathan. [RESTORED]

31. It appears as though nearly every one of your NPC teammates had something to say after you find the Star Map in Naga Shadow's tomb. However, as we all know, only your character is allowed to enter Naga Shadow's tomb.

32. Although a majority of the cut content was during gameplay, Bioware either forgot or cut out a small number of CGI movies. [RESTORED]

http://toasting.machine.free.fr/kotor/k1mr-1.1.zip

33. After purchasing HK-47 on Tattooine and talking to Yuka Luka again, HK-47 will ask whether or not you'll allow him to fufill his life long dream of killing Yuka. Unfortunatley, you're forced to deny HK-47 this. [RESTORED]

http://www.geocities.com/d333mods/other.html

34. You could speak with Juhani after finding the star map on Korriban. The dialogue itself involves Juhani telling you of her dislike of Korriban's evil and how it affected her. [RESTORED]

http://files.filefront.com/tat17+08...;/fileinfo.html

35. You could speak to Juhani about why she dislikes Canderous. The dialogue itself obviously became availible shorty AFTER her argument with Canderous. [RESTORED] (contains original dialog)

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.file...ogue_Pack;81241

36. Davik Kang's second hanger. It could just be eye candy but it looks like Calo Nord's possible ship on the map. It looks like his room could of had a door to his ship.

37. If you look at some of the dialog for Tar_m03aa (Taris Lower City) it looks like that the swoop track was originally accessible from there. An example would be in this piece of a Sith Troopers dialog.

38. One of the more interesting subplots of KOTOR involves your character's relationship with Juhani. RESTORED

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.file...mance_Mod;61573

39. Considering the fact that this is an RPG game, one of the ideas Bioware must've have been toying with was how many times players could level up. Even I was a little dissapointed that you could only reach a level 20 with your character before you could no longer level up.

40. Shortly after you learn that Juhani's last home planet was Taris, you could talk to her again to learn about how the prejudice and racism of other people affected her life on Taris. [RESTORED] (contains original dialog)

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.file...ogue_Pack;81241

41. Also, it appears as though some rooms in the sith academy on Korriban were removed. The doors next to some of the hallways actually opened and you could access new rooms.

42. In early builds, you could actually talk to a bith. You know the aliens who played the famous cantina music from "A New Hope"? Those were biths.

43. Originally, if you had been doing the Carth romance sidequest, a dialogue with Carth revealed he was much more devastated with your character being Revan than he was in the final version of the game. RESTORED

http://www.cjt0202.net/carth_romance.php

44. During the development of this game, Bioware inserted a robot character that performed multiple things like adding members to your party, checking variables and changing the planet you were on. [RESTORED] (more of a cheat than restored content]

http://www.modholocron.isgreat.org/K1.htm

45. Early versions of the story included a subplot involving clones. Unfortunately, Lucasfilms ordered that this part of the story be cut in order to avoid giving away possible spoilers for "Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones".

http://blogs.starwars.com/DrewK/5

46. A Czerka depot could've been found on Korriban along with a quest involving the president of Czerka operations on Korriban. {There was evidently quite a bit of Czerka content originally planned for Korriban}

47. A sound file exists that involves Carth teaching you how to use a droid that was supposed to allow you transit between the Taris City levels.

48. Juhani had additional comments about Revan.

49. Sharina Fizzark, the woman who tries to sell you the great wraid plate on Tatooine, can later be found on RESTORED

http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.file...storation;85549

50. Apparently you had to do some extra work if you wanted to enter the burial mound on Dantooine as evidenced by a sound file of Bastila talking about how to open it.

51. Your character at one point in the game could threaten or ask a sith commander to help you.

52. At one point, you encounter an injured dark apprentice.

53. The player could go back to Dantooine after escaping the Leviathan.

54. Due to a small glitch in a dialogue file Bioware forgot to fix, conversation between Juhani and Canderous that takes place on Kashyyyk is never heard in the final version of the game

55. Komad Furtuna (the Twi'lek hunter on Tatooine) had a lot of cut dialog.

56. Some jawa NPCs were apparently cut from tat_m18aa.

57. Beleya's UTC file has scripts which show that Beleya originally could become a member of your party.

58. A lightsaber crystal called Wookie amulet was cut from the game as evidence by it's template and other information found in upgrade.2da [RESTORED]

Great Darth, that is wonderful news, thanks for doing that. You will find most of the links right up above in this thread and the info in the list, there are a couple i did not have links for yet, but that will be great, and more happening all the time right now.

Loony636, thanks that is a great revised list, it is great have so much good work on gathering the info so everyone can see and decide what they are interested in... i had heard about the Chronicles mod good luck with that, sounds great.

I found another thread about Sleheyron and also the early research into the way the galaxy map works on the Ebon Hawk, from this very forum thread is here:

"azgath1" and the Ebon Hawk Lab Station are both for TSL....

Also, "czergakorribanoffices.7z" and "TAT-TEMPLE.7z" are both unnecessary on the list if you have the Lost Modules Pack - the content in both of these are in the LMP. :)

I had a brainwave last night. Well not really a brainwave, but just a thought that would help prospective modders get an idea of the restorability (lol that's a word) of certain bits of content. Its a 'criteria system' which tells the modders what exactly exists for a particular piece of content. So here a my criteria:

1) Dialog - Does the dialog itself exist
2) Voice Over/Lip Syncs - Do the Voice overs and/or lip syncs exist
3) Module - Does the module where the scene takes place exist
4) Cutscenes - Do any related cutscenes exist?

And based on the partial, complete or missing nature of the above criteria, each piece of content can be ranked according to ease of restoration.

For example: 54. Due to a small glitch in a dialogue file Bioware forgot to fix, conversation between Juhani and Canderous that takes place on Kashyyyk is never heard in the final version of the game

This is 1/10, since it requires about 10 seconds of work to fix.

3. The planet Sleheyron

This is 10/10, as it is close to impossible

Loony, that is a very good point, that was funny that you picked that one item that is so easy to fix, i had just been thinking about posting about it, going through the list this AM...anyone up for a quick fix and some nice restored content to add for us all?

54. Due to a small glitch in a dialogue file Bioware forgot to fix, conversation between Juhani and Canderous that takes place on Kashyyyk is never heard in the final version of the game

Click, click, upload.

I would, if I the computer that had KOTOR 1 on it wasn't in disposed at the moment.

The reason I suggested it is because I have no idea how much of the content exists, and where the content exists. If people could post comments about the content, that'd be great.

Ok, we have had a very very nice reply from David Gaider who was the senior writer for KotOR I at Biowar, he is still with Biowar and is a Designer for the company and working on new projects. He tells us that the models and the dialog files for KOTR I are sadly not available due to changes in file configurations half way through the project, and the company moving, BUT he said that he very willing to share what is in his head, i.e. memory about the game and details of the plot that were left out or put in. This is a remarkable offer and wonderful opportunity. I will post his reply in detail once he gives me permission to share it but I wanted to let you all know that we have this chance to ask questions that there may be no other answers for. I would hope that he would not be deluged with tons of mail but it appears he realy is willing to help us with questions on the game and the storyline. That is very nice indeed and I wrote immediately to thank him and to let him know I would pass his offer on to all of you.

Let me know if you want me to pass on questions or if you want to send them directly to him, and I asked him too how he wants to handle this, and hopefully we can enjoy this unique opportunity to solve puzzles and riddles that remain from the files and the lost areas. Great news and nice to be able to pass on.

The last line of his post says:

"...I'd be willing to answer any questions you had, about Sleheyron or KotOR in general. Nice to see that there's still some fans out there interested in the project. It was a lot of fun to work on."

As an example of the depth and insights he can share with us are quotes from posts he made back in 2003 in response to questions about the plot, from the Biowar Forum archives, found by Dan Loto....

Well, Sleheyron (the one planet that was cut) was mostly written when it was cut and I had written it, and there was a series of Hutts there that you could take jobs with. They were all enemies of each other and you could play them off each other. it was kinda cool. One of them was named Suuda the Hutt and I liked him a lot, he was very catty.

And, no, before anyone asks it is not in a state that it can be restored. I think the dialogue I wrote back then was even in a different format, so it is not salvageable.

Would you mind describing what Sleheyron was going to be like a bit more? A planet inhabited by several Hutts, all in opposition toward one another, sounds very interesting. Plus, judging from other characters' dialogue about Sleheyron, it seems like an interesting place on its own. I'd love to read about what sort of areas, NPCs,--(Hutts and otherwise)--and Quests could've been found there.

Well, as I recall Sleheyron was one of those over-industrialized planets within Hutt space. Sort of like Taris with all the large buildings... but much more drab and ugly, with everything in hues of orange and brown. Seleheyron was intended to be the place where you visited the seedy underbelly of civilization: here you engaged in smuggling and other illegal activities for various Huttese gangsters and either took part in or bet on the infamous gladiator matches.

Like I said above, you could work for various Hutts... you didn't meet them, but rather worked for their intermediaries (like how Bib is Jabba's go-between). I think there was four... I only remember the names of two, though: Moosh and Suuda.

Each of the Hutts had a few things you could do for them. The really extensive one was Suuda, who was involved in a cross-planet smuggling plot (which is too bad that it got cut, really) which ended in an assassination plot... you get admitted to Suuda's presence and can either try to carry through with the plot to kill Suuda or uncover it and get rewarded by him.

As I recall, I think you could enter the gladiator tournaments under one of two Hutts. That was kind of interesting... there were five other teams of three gladiators and the matches got assigned ahead of time. You could check which team you were up against and sometimes you had the option to work the other team over... romance their captain and get them to throw the fight, poison one of them, make a deal to get them out of slavery, etc. Otherwise you were in one of four types of matches... the plans for those I remember being pretty cool and each match type focused on one style, like one was a labyrinth, one involved pure combat, stuff like that.

Hmmm. I remember that one of the Hutts had an estate you could infiltrate. Can't remember exactly what happened there, though. I do recall that there was a cantina where you met up with a couple of servants belonging to that Hutt and you could romance the key out of them (as one way of getting in).

At any rate, this all sounds like it was done but it really wasn't. Much of the dialogue and planning had been written, and some of the area modelling, but that's it. I'm not sure how we would have done all the gladiator games stuff at all. Probably best that the planet was cut overall... it was too complex considering all the stuff we had in KotOR already.

I wrote Yuthura after Sleheyron was cut. That's why I mentioned it in her dialogue.

Maybe you shouldn't have let us know how great the game could have been

To be honest, there's usually a big difference between the initial plan and where something ends up. Like I said, this was still really early in the game's development when Sleheyron was cut. Especially considering that it was so complex, there'd likely be a big difference between the planned Sleheyron that you're hearing about and how it would have turned out after months of cutting, scripting and tweaking (I ended up re-writing Korriban twice during development and it had to make major changes from its initial vision in order to get it "right"... Sleheyron would have been no different.)

And, incidentally, I really doubt Yuthura would have ever appeared on Sleheyron. The only reason I had her mention the planet was because it had been cut.

I think that these should be the top priority for asking him...

The Sleheyron star map information (where it's located, ect.)

Who the Hutts on Sleheyron were siding with (the Sith or the Republic.)

Any information on Sleheyron would be helpful really.

20. A trash compactor puzzle in the Taris Sewers.

That's not much information and I doubt he remembers such a small detail. :(

21. A quest that would have allowed the player to become a sort of Messiah of the Sandpeople and lead them against their Czerka corporation oppressors.

Information on this could be helpful. :)

22. A Gammorean stronghold in the Undercity

*cough* :)

46. A Czerka depot could've been found on Korriban along with a quest involving the president of Czerka operations on Korriban. {There was evidently quite a bit of Czerka content originally planned for Korriban}

Perhaps what the story is around this.

53. The player could go back to Dantooine after escaping the Leviathan.

I suppose you could also ask about the original Dantooine landing pad.

Extra shadowland level.

More might have been cut than we know.

and why the free roam camera cheat is on the Xbox version but not the PC version.

(I doubt he remembers this...)

I also recommend that CrisG is the only one who messages him. It will be the most efficient and cut down on spam.

I almost forgot the Tatooine Temple...you could ask about the Sarlacc/Starmap/Creatures in the cave.

This is really great that he's willing to help!

OK thanks Darth Balor, let's continue here for just a bit before we move this thread over to there and keep the questions for David here as most people will come here in the immediate future, i will wait to see how we feel about the best way to get the questins to him, and gather the questions up and post them here first before passing them on to him, so we can get it very clear. It is an exciting thing to have this chance and i want it to be as smooth as we can make it. And easy for him. It is VERY good news that he is free to talk with us openly about the plot line and is not hindered by NDA or other restrictions.

Thanks again Darth B for the forum area for our restoration work and I really really appreciate you doing that, and I am sure we will move over there soonest, I just wanted to keep this thread going a bit longer as people will be checking in here and it will be a good nexus until we find our way for the next steps. This is really wonderful movment in a positive direction, and great to see. thanks to all.

What I suggest of everyone is comfortable me passing on the questions to David, and bringing back his replies that I do it weekly, and will post the questoins current in a post here, and then will put in his replies if and when they come, and we can duplicate this into the restoration forum that Darth Balor has so kindly created for us at the Team Exile site too. This will keep the pipeline to David clear and simple, and make it easiest for him IMHO. :)

My 2 cents:

- questions sent to Gaider only through a single point of contact, and no more than once per week
- concentrate on the biggest questions first, things like major plot points and the like

A request from me: ask him if it would be at all possible to clarify a few technical details on the file formats. Probably not, but asking can't hurt...

Magnus what technical points do you need to know about....i think he may be able to find out if we can ask specfic things, my sense is that he is willing to help us, and will also he will be totaly and openly honest when he can't which I very much respect. My suggestion is that we send questions on Fridays, as that gives him time to think things over and reply when he has comfortable time. :)

I suppose its not possible for him to release the tools that Bioware used to design the modules in the first place? Valve actually did that with Half Life 2; they released Hammer and allowed users to create maps for Half Life 2 and its offspring.

47. A sound file exists that involves Carth teaching you how to use a droid that was supposed to allow you transit between the Taris City levels.

Would this be hard to restore? Obviously you could only use it once you'd been to all three of the levels (and got the appropriate papers)...Kinda like the terminals in Telos. In fact, exactly like the terminals in Telos.

Hang on, I just thought of something. If you got the Sith uniform, went into the Lower Levels, traded your uniform for the papers, can you get back up to the Upper Levels? And if so, does that mean that you can use the papers to get back down again? If so, then this should become available as soon as you've traveled to the Undercity.

Assuming that you can use the papers to travel freely through the levels, can it be done?

Oh and one more thing. a lot of content in the list above is mentioned, but it would be useful if people could add the names of the relevant files concerning the content, so that people could work out how viable a restoration is.

Darth Balor

It actually was a droid for every planet, and Carth has no connection to it. It was able to warp you to the areas you have visited on each planet.

I was thinking about things like a list of controllers used in emitters along with their associated numerical values, just as an example.... or the meaning of the field which can take the values of 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 in the AABB node structure. Basically I'd need a little help in bridging the gap between the NWN formats (most of which have been made public by Bioware) and the Kotor ones. It would certainly help me a lot in rounding out KAurora. I can compile a small list of questions, but maybe it's better to first ask if these questions are acceptable in the first place.

MagnusII, my gut feeling is that we can and should be as detailed at the outset as you can be, so he can give us guidelines on what he can help us with. He seems very candid and willing to be open about the development, and he will certainly tell us what he can and can't share, so if you could do a short list of detailed questions, I think this is the time to ask them.....but I will follow your lead on this however you want to do it. Loony has asked about asking them if they can release their level making tools, so this might fit with that and help David know what would help us the most. We will include a note to him that Quanon's new Totally New Temple Module also.

I'll just post my questions here about the level editing itself.
That's my main interest ofcourse, I just hope he can share some hints
or just a tip.

Though I fear we might be asking the wrong guy about this kind of stuff.
Still its great he's doing this !

So here it goes :

Man, what to ask? I'm rather speechless...

But I have small list :

- How narrow can a corridor be made, 2 m ~ 3 m for party members to follow fluently ?

- How does the WalkMesh block off the camera and line-of-sight of party members and enemys ?

- Is there a way to create more "effects" for the textures ? Like the metal shine ( CM_BareMetal), I've found this has a TGA , is there a way to make the game accept new TGA for those kind of effects ?

- And how to approach the lightmaps ?

- For now only the Mesh , created for the walkable area accepts multi/sub-object material from 3D-Max.
How do I get the ohter Mesh objects to use this aswell ? Else I can only use like 20 textures...

- Is there a way to make AuroraDlights flash or pulse ?

Some of the questions might be to vague

I just hope we get some treats .

I'd like to know:

A) if it is correct
B) what the "percentXXX" values are used for
C) name and usage of all the unknown emitters

Here's the structure of the AABB nodes used in Kotor:

Vertex _BoxMin
Vertex _BoxMax
int _LeafFaceIndex

I'd like to know what's the meaning of the _Unknown field.

Regarding the trimesh header, there are some unknown fields:

Superb, that is exactly what I had hoped you would give us to share with David, it will show him several things, including that we, or specifically those of us, including you and others who are willing and capable, are working hard to understand the game to be able to mod it accurately and to maintain the high level of the game quality, and that we and again those of you who are doing it, are self starters and work hard at this, and any help will be much much appreciated. I think this is honestly one of the remarkable things about this community and the way the game inspires people and a fine reflection of the effort that went into it with people like David and the rest of the devel team, David may be able to pass on some of the technical questions to Lead Tools Programmer Don Moar and the other Tools Programmers Owen Borstad, Timothy Smith, Kris Tan, Sydney Tang, or to the Graphics Programmers John Bible, Patrick Chan, Peter Woytiuk, we can hope and this will be a chance to show what we are interested in and working on and with. I will do a sweep tomorrow for the questions and get them formated for you all to review.

Darth333 has offered us a chance to share our conversation with David on SWK, which might be a nice thing to do if that seems right to all of you.....and she shared a link to a recent inverview with Chris Avellone Lead Designer for TSL and Emperor Devon and Pavlos did, that was published over there at SWK, it shows interesting insights on the viewpoint of the game development decisoins and helped me consider how and what to ask David on our behalf too, you all might enjoy seeing this if you havent yet...

If I could pose a question, I'd like to know what the left-over Czerka-style sequence of rooms, which I named a missing area of Korriban, were originally for...? They appear in the earliest of the trailers on youtube, IIRC...it's been removed, but it looked like a very early, pre-release trailer.

Actually, if we could get to know what was meant to go on in the cut Shadowlands level, the rough information of what was going on in the Tatooine temple (something more than just the Sarlacc...), and why there's a second Tatooine swoop track, that would all be pretty interesting to know. :)

Hi Chris,

I wish I could help you out more regarding Sleheyron -- whatever notes I had on that particular level have been lost in the intervening years, which is not too surprising considering we've moved buildings since then and I've upgraded my work computer at least twice.

Dialogue was written for the planet, as I recall, but even if I could find those dialogue files in some archive I wouldn't have any way of accessing them. Even half-way through the project's development we switched dialogue formats -- and that meant old dialogue files could no longer be read. I'd need something that could read that old format, which just isn't going to happen.

There was an alpha version of the artwork done, too -- but again even if the model work could be found, I'm not sure it would be in a state to turn over to anyone. As I recall, textures were temporary and there was a problem with the scaling, and then it's likely the entire thing was dumped when the planet was cut.

SO... that means that whatever existed of Sleheyron is pretty much just in my head nowadays.

I'd be willing to answer any questions you had, about Sleheyron or KotOR in general. Nice to see that there's still some fans out there interested in the project. It was a lot of fun to work on.

Sounds fine to me, sure.

Quote: for instance there was a third level for the Black Vulkar Base on Taris (that by the way is an amazing level, very beautifully done)....a third level that existed almost complete in the game files and skilled community members restored it with full access already.
Really? Interesting. I was not involved much in the Taris levels, myself, outside of writing some dialogue for Carth and Bastila. Most of Taris was made by Drew Karpyshyn.

In fact, there were four writers who worked as the leads for various characters and planets. We overlapped some, but I'd say that these people know the most about their respective bailiwicks. My memory is not 100%, but as I recall the breakdown was something like this:

Me: Korriban as well as Carth, Bastila, HK-47 and Jolee Bindo -- I did the initial design on Tatooine, before it was handed off to Luke, so I know a fair amount of what went on there as well.

Drew Karpyshyn: Taris, Dantooine, end levels as well as Mission

Luke Kristjansson: Kashyyk and Zaalbar

Peter Thomas: Manaan, Unknown World as well as Canderous and Juhani

Quote: additional office space for Czerka Corp on Korriban that people are looking at
I remember the Czerka office on Korriban, though as I recall there wasn't a great deal going on there. It was primarily going to be a store, and if I recall there were some plans for Czerka to give you a quest to get them some artifacts from the dig underneath the nose of the Sith -- but only if you had sided with Czerka on Tatooine (which was a big Tatooine plot that was cut, involving the Sand People fighting against Czerka, but after that was cut so was this).

If I were to name the three biggest things that were cut out of the original plan, it'd be these:

1) Sleheyron (without a doubt, considering that most of the dialogue had even been written -- it was enjoyable, but the problem was mainly that it was easily the most complicated planet to implement so it was a hard decision to be the one we had to lose. One of the toughest parts of losing Sleheyron was that it also meant cutting the string of cross-planet smuggling quests that you could get into if you chose to start working for Suuda the Hutt.)

2) The Sand People rebellion on Tatooine (which included the sub-plot of whether or not you wanted to help free the Jawa from the Sand People and whether or not you would help the Sand People fight against the Czerka miners -- or help Czerka wipe out the Sand People.)

3) The Korriban crypt areas were originally much more extensive, and at one point there was a plan for a larger underground complex. These mostly got kiboshed when a lack of time meant that the crypts had to be turned into what were essentially single-room dungeons.

These are the things I knew about, anyhow. It might seem surprising, but from my experience these sorts of cuts happen all the time -- and for the most part it was always a good thing because it freed up time to spend polishing other parts of the game. One of the worst things a developer can do, I think, is become so enraptured with their own design that they refuse to examine which parts are actually necessary and feasible to accomplish in the time you have available. It's nice to imagine that Sleheyron and all the rest could have been included and be as polished and cool as the rest of the areas we made -- but that's just not how it works.

Quote: I will ask for a detailed question list and pass it on to you soon, and thanks again for being willing to help us with this, it is VERY nice of you indeed.
No problem.

#37 (Provided by Dan Loto).

AS ORIGINALLY QUOTED BY DAN IN HIS PMs TO ME

I found quite a lot more on this with Mindtwistah's Armband. They they a picture's worth a thousand words so here's six pictures!

I'll start off with the minimap. The white boxes are where I found "swoop tracks"

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/Megamagicman88/xye.jpg

As you can see, there are three of them. Here's one by the Undercity elevator "I think...it's hard to tell" from a distance. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/Megamagicman88/ed.jpg

Then here it is from the other side. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/Megamagicman88/xdn.jpg

Then here's one by the Vulkar base from a distance. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/Megamagicman88/xdrydn.jpg

Here it is again but from standing on it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/Megamagicman88/rdyyryrdrydrymn.jpg

here's the south one by the Vulkar base. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/Megamagicman88/rdyjjmn.jpg

The walkmesh isn't very good but it's better than the Tatooine Temple. There's also a few holes in the floor where you'd think doors would go.

Half the walls are invisible, the walkmesh has holes in it/is erratic, and there's no use that we know of for it in-game.

Those areas look to me like they were cut early on.

I'll check the model files for the Valley of the Dark Lords for any sign of this crypt, but don't get your hopes up - I think I pretty well found all there was to find in terms of cut modules already.

Was this ever restored in a way it was "originally" intended? I looked it up, and although I don't have a proper savegame to test it, it should be a snap to restore it.

I know that there is a mod which scratches the gender requirement intirely. Everyone his/her own taste I'd say, but if the request of the community would demand it, I'd give it a go to restore the "original" content.

Take care

I figured watching from the side as the two sides exchange blasterfire and grenades.

The distance isen't so great that you can't see that something is going on over there.

I have an idea, which I'll illustrate with this complex diagram:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v648/Megamagicman88/xye-1.jpg

The yellow area could be Vulkars vs. Beks since the Bek base is sort of on that side.

The red area could be Vulkars vs. Sith since the elevator to the Uppercity is on that side.

It wouldn't be a cut scene. I'd just have to add a few Sith troopers, Vulkars, and Beks. To keep them fighting you could just set their minimum hp to 1.

The blue area could just be some people walking around like they do in the Uppercity. They wouldn't even need dialog. But if I do this then I'd be tempted to restore the cut pedestrians on the main area of the Lower City.

So I guess I'll play around with it and see what it looks like.

I have the Sith vs. Vulkars in. I was really happy with how it turned out. They were acting like it was a real battle over there. I expected them to just stand in lines and shoot but they broke formations and went crazy! ...probably over reacting.

After I post this I'll start working on the Beks vs. Vulkars.

About the cut dialog. Some of it looks like it should be on the Taris Swoop track. I might try just changing the the closet in tar_m03ab into an elevator like they did with the Vulkar base. The beds in the appartment would just be the swoop rider medical area. The elevator would take you to a new swoop track module with the cut people that were supposed to be there.

Current problems: Cut scenes in the module are broke again  I only added people to the .git so far...I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

EDIT: I clicked openwith the wrong .gff editor...my poor aim...

#32. Although a majority of the cut content was during gameplay, Bioware either forgot or cut out a small number of CGI movies.

Hi!

I managed to create a mod that corrects those issues. You can find it here (http://toasting.machine.free.fr/kotor/k1mr-1.1.zip). (That's my first mod! :D)

It appears that 07_3 was originally meant to be played during the escape from Taris as an introduction to the encounter with the sith Marauders, and 07_4 during the Unknown World approach.

CrisG,

I finished a beta version of the Taris Lower City restoration mod. It's not done yet but it's very close.

Hey Chris.

I just remembered something.

In one of RHs mod you meet Zhar near the hawk and he has VOd lines i've never heard before.

Basically he speaks about helping you on your quest, afterwards he dissapears like the shapshifter you run into on Kashyyk and you then have a very nice lightsaber.

If i remember correctly RH made the mod with Maverick187. (Though i could be wrong.)

#52. At one point, you encounter an injured dark apprentice.

Voices associated with this can be found in "streamwaves\m44aa\injs03".

m44aa is one of the Unknown Temples module. I did some searching and came across this room:

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h305/RosieJA/swkotor-20080311-151328.png

Theres a fair few lockers in that room, I forget, but I think it was called the Armory.

The VO's said she couldn't get out of bed, so she might of been lying on it, or standing next to it. You can put a character on a bed, Bastila being a fine example (torture scene).

#42 - In early builds, you could actually talk to a bith. You know the aliens who played the famous cantina music from "A New Hope"? Those were biths.

You could talk to the bith in question on Korriban. Apparently, the bith provided information on the academy and how to get in.

http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2003/xbox/kotor/0715/k_screen091.jpg

I found another cut Bith. One of the first two Duros who get "raided" by the Sith right outside of your apartment on Taris was suppose to be a Bith. The proof is in his dialog file. His name is Ixgil http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ixgil and he's the one who...died. :(

I took a look at #41, the cut library on Korriban, and it appears that the model files for the library are missing. I changed the doors to be openable, but there is just blank nothing behind it. Also, I checked the existing model files vs. the ones in the .are, and they're the same, and there are numbers skipped, so Bioware did intend for the library to be there, it just got completely but out of the game.

Very interesting finds indeed. But as some here already mentioned some stuff was probably taken for promotional releases and/or from early stages of game development (hence the different HUD!).

The Bith thingy was already restored in a mod/restoration if I am not mistaken, although I can't find it.

The most interesting other part to me is the republic soldier on Dantooine. I only have the German version of the game, but if you can find the lines from the screen shot in the dialog file, there might be even more to restore. Can you please check it?

I couldn’t find anything on the Republic soldier in Kotor Tool. Judging from his dialog in the screen shot he wouldn’t have came until after the Leviathan. If someone ever restores going back to Dantooine then they’d probably have to have a small garrison of troops there before the Leviathan so it makes sence.

The Bith thingy was already restored in a mod/restoration if I am not mistaken, although I can't find it.

Were all “four now” Biths restored? Did they have voice overs?

There’s not enough information really. What about party members, solo mode, and stealth?

Some other things (I think) is that belts and armbands may at one time have been supposed to be equippable models. I found a whole stock of armband and belt models. Implants too.

There are also some unused force power icons, one I remember is force control.

In addition, there is a 'sebulba' .utc file and a soundset file too. But the sounds are nonexistant.

@Dan: You might be right, and I was to quick with my conclusion. The question is, how much of your Gamorrean Stronghold is your own devicing and how much original content. As a compiler, I try to gather the information for whatever anyone feels drawn to work on to contribute. Restoration can cover a range of degrees from replacing things left out by mistake to major elements that were not completed but were worked on by the orignal design team and part of which are still present. It is an individual choice, and any effort to the common good is a plus in my humble opinion. Much has been achieved, and more remains for future effort. And I admire very much the efforts on the Sleheyron Project and all the other work past, present and what may come.

Pikmin

If I was to send someone my mod would you be able to test it and take screenshots for me? PM if you are available.

EDIT: I'm also working on the Return to Dantoine.

My idea is that the Republic sent troops to Dantoine as a defense measure, and when the sith attack several of them are taken prisoner. You recieve a distress call from the jedi on dantoine, and head to Dantoine. When you drop out of hyperspace you recieve a transmission telling you that the enclave has been overrun and that you will have to land elsewhere, and are given cordinates for the Dantoine landing pad. After landing a republic soldier greets you and tells you several of his corp were captured and are being held in the enclave sublevel. You head there and defeat the sith and rescue the soldiers.

{Now you will be able to meet with Yathura if you save her right before/after the levithan.}

The question is, how much of your Gamorrean Stronghold is your own devicing and how much original content.

None of it was left over, save for that screenshot and interview. It was much like the restoration of Sleheyron...with a lot less information. None of the cut NPCs in the Undercity are "made up" though.

My idea is that the Republic sent troops to Dantoine as a defense measure, and when the sith attack several of them are taken prisoner.

Do you mean that the Jedi called for help when they were attacked?

You recieve a distress call from the jedi on dantoine, and head to Dantoine.

How does that work? A hologram like Admiral Dodonna did?

When you drop out of hyperspace you recieve a transmission telling you that the enclave has been overrun and that you will have to land elsewhere, and are given cordinates for the Dantoine landing pad.

Do you mean the cut landing pad..or a quickly thrown together pad?

After landing a republic soldier greets you and tells you several of his corp were captured and are being held in the enclave sublevel. You head there and defeat the sith and rescue the soldiers.

The enclave sub level will require a very skilled modder.

{Now you will be able to meet with Yathura if you save her right before/after the levithan.}

How will that work with her speaking basic?

How does that work? A hologram like Admiral Dodonna did? Yes, after the convo about you being Revan, T3 will tell you that you are receiving a communication and plug it into the holoprojector. It will probably be a Knight that calls for aid.

Do you mean the cut landing pad..or a quickly thrown together pad?
I was thinking that one yes, and since I don't think they left it in the game I was looking at the screens and I think a reskinned Tatooine dock would work.

The enclave sub level will require a very skilled modder. Quannon/Doc Valentine/Sithspecter...

How will that work with her speaking basic?Well, since she already has lines for appearing on Dantoine(in game actually). You won't be able to talk to her until you clear away the sith.

I threw together a quick web site for cut content. It has brief discriptions. http://www.freewebs.com/kotor1cutcontentlist/index.htm

I was thinking that one yes, and since I don't think they left it in the game

It wasn't left in the game files, that's correct. I think that the hanger was suppose to be through the door South of where the Ebon Hawk usually lands. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox/file/556553/37172

I was looking at the screens and I think a reskinned Tatooine dock would work.

If you can get someone capable of making the sub level and a ruined enclave then the hanger should be pretty basic for them.

Dxun then. I just don't think that they have a landing pad sitting around...unless you land on someone's house. :xp:

So you're saying that the ONLY landing pad was at the enclave?(which was probably Jedi use only.)

I threw together a quick web site for cut content. It has brief discriptions. http://www.freewebs.com/kotor1cutcontentlist/index.htm

@Dan: A big thumbs up for your work. I was always looking for a comprehensive site were all the done restorations were pooled together. Again: applause for what you did!

EDIT:

None of it was left over, save for that screenshot and interview. It was much like the restoration of Sleheyron...with a lot less information. None of the cut NPCs in the Undercity are "made up" though.

@Dan: I really don't want to bother you, but I am curious. As you created a totally new module, where did you find the NPCs you mentioned, and were there original dialogue left?

That was mostly copy and pasteing. Most of the details are still in this topic.

Yes, a lot of it was left. In KotOR tool, Kotor1>RIMs>Modules>tar_m04aa_s

07_4 - The Ebon Hawk Escapes The Sith Marauders - Variation 1a (The same as the movie above, but in a reversed camera shot.)Time for uptade list :D It's restored (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/New_BIK_Movies_Restoration;95382).

I looked up the Sith Base on Manaan and didn't find any avidence regarding this rumour (item or dialogue). Does anyone have any hints where to find any useable bits or pieces to restore the datapad?

Thanks and take care

#4. An extension of the Taris Swoop Bike quest, in which a second level exists in the Vulkar base and the player has to disguise himself as a Vulkar to infiltrate it.

(The module for this unused portion of the game still exists. However, it's incomplete.)

That is restored for quite some time :-) -> http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Restoration_of_the_Black_Vulkar_Base;86493

Same goes for #9: http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Garrum_and_Tareelok_Restoration;86262

MOD LINK - http://www.geocities.com/d333mods/other.html
MOD PATCH - http://www.geocities.com/d333mods/other.html (This patch is actually a modified version of the DLG file in this archive. I took the time to fix some spelling errors and rewrite a sentence to make it more grammar friendly.)

There is absolutely no avidence that the scene(s) in the droid shop were ever intended in a different way then they are actually shown in the game. I think this rumour showed up with darth333's mod. And a mod it is, NOT a restoration (as she also clearly says in her statement (!), which - as always - shall not belittle her accomplishments).

I suggest, this should be scratched from the list.

I think it was left on the list because of this:

I looked into the dialogue, and nothing underlines that statement! The rumour might or might not be true. Maybe something *was* itended with the other droids in the shop - maybe not. Nevertheless its a fact that nothing is left in the game one could work from to restore *anything*. For me its just a (false!) rumour which should be dropped from the list. No offence :-) !

Well, considering Yuka Laka was the only droid merchant on Tatooine, they might not have wanted you to be able to kill him, so that if you did, you'd have to go to another planet for repair kits.

You are right. However I have already mentioned it to ChrisG and that's why he posted my own comment at the end of the snippet you quoted above...I think it makes it clear that it isn't restored content:

[Correction Jan 2008: From Darth333: FYI Bioware didn't delete that option. The Yuka Laka mod is not restored content: it was my idea (and my first kotor mod ). I made the voice overs from cutting/pasting/editing other in game sound files.]

There was never anything that suggested that Bioware intended to have that option (and I've been through the files as I've made the mod). I just wanted to make HK-47 happy :D

If I remember correctly he told me at that time that he was nevertheless leaving it there as he thought it was fitting well within the game and that he felt that the option should have been there. However, I would take no offense whatsoever if he ever wishes to remove it.

Hm, I admire both your works, but as this is a thread about restoration work for K1, only those things should be listed. And I say that with all due respect! The same goes for the mentioning of the clones. Nothing is in the game that gives a modder any material to make a restoration. The same goes for one or two other mentionings. The list *could* be smaller and more manageable.

...and it deserves a sticky :-) .

As I said above, I take no offense and I have no problems with my mod being removed from the list :) I was merely pointing out the fact that the author knows about it.

...and it deserves a sticky :-) Can't help you with that: as my title says, I am now retired. However, tbh, I would rather post a link to this thread in the "where can I find mods" sticky. Personally, I've never been a fan of seeing a forum cluttered with stickies and some people might prefer original mod content (this is still a list of mods after all). Just my $0.02 cents :)

Thanks Darth333, and as i have responded to other comments about slimming this thread, my hope is that it is a working repository of possible and achieved restoratoins, not the bible of FACT and the end all,....it is a way for ppl to see what has been achieved and what has been found or theorized about lost or unusued content or things that were cut. Anyone is welcome indeed to produce a slim and trim minimal version but this one is based on the work of Team Jawa and I kept that format as the basis for our continued efforts as part of the history of restoration. I will add some of the new work shortly, sorry to have been away and busy. And all comments and suggestions are very much valued and studied i can assure you for it is the continual and respectful exchange and mutual support here that makes this such a wonderful continuing community.

What Dan Loto and I found out regarding the Sunry Murder datapad:

A datapad can be found here: file manm26aa_s>Blueprint, Item>w_sdatapad.uti.

The w_sdatapad.uti clearly has the comment "About Murder Plot". It belongs / is put into the inventory of the placeable (at 37, 8, 58) comppnl001.utp, which implies it *should* be a computer panel. That placeable is indeed in the .git file (!) - I expected it would be missing. So the PC *can* find it and *can* get the datapad (!?). Unfortunately the placeable has no dialogue reference (!).

Nevertheless comppnl001 has the Footlocker appearance (!). When I searched the dialogue file for Sunry references, I found a line which says something like "DOWNLOADING SUNRY FILE..." or somesuch (I have the German version of the game). Before and after that line are just empty entries (!).

I would need a savegame in the Sith Embassy near the said placeable (footlocker or computer panel), as I don't remember an easy way into the Sith Embassy, and don't have the time to make a playthrough to investigate further.

If anyone else found something out, any help would be highly appreciated.

If you have KOTOR Tool, you should be able to remedy this: Just open RIMs/Modules/kas_m22aa_s.rim and find 22aa_zaalb02_01.dlg under dialog. Just move Juhani’s branch below Canderous’ and save the file to your override folder

#1. In the fight with Rulan Prolack (the shape changing alien you're sent to kill for the Genoharadan), he always transforms into Jolee. However it seems he was at one time meant to transform into any one of your NPC's, even your PC.

#2. There was an alternate way into the Sith base on Taris. The junior sith officers you meet in the cantina could later be talked to at the party for a chance to buy a pass card into the base.

#3. Whats that???

(This is a modified version of the DLG associated with Davik's female slave. I removed the original dialogue the author made for Mission, due mostly to the fact that I really can't stand new dialogue lines without authentic voiceovers.
In addition, I also added action brackets to a line of dialogue.)

#4. The Sith patrol you meet in the Undercity was at one time in the sewers (or possibly it was a second patrol) and were much harder to fool (you'd have to show your papers and then pass a persuade check).

#5. A little bit of unused dialogue near the beginning, Carth tells the PC to go back to sleep until their injuries heal.

#6. More bits of dialogue seem to suggest that Jolee and the PC were meant to fight together in the Shadow Lands before he officially joined your party. Perhaps against the Katarns you see him kill?

#8. An extended romance .dlg for Carth with a Female Revan, for a better executed beach Scene.

#9. It appears as though nearly every one of your NPC teammates had something to say after you find the Star Map in Naga Shadow's tomb. However, as we all know, only your character is allowed to enter Naga Shadow's tomb.

I've provided a picture that shows evidence of these pieces of cut content.
http://image.com.com/gamespot/images..._screen004.jpg

#11. In early builds, you could actually talk to a bith. You know the aliens who played the famous cantina music from "A New Hope"? Those were biths.
You could talk to the bith in question on Korriban. Apparently, the bith provided information on the academy and how to get in.

If you wanted another chance to fight Czerka's corruption on the galaxy, this might've been your chance... until Bioware cut it from the game

#14. Apparently you had to do some extra work if you wanted to enter the burial mound on Dantooine as evidenced by a sound file of Bastila talking about how to open it.
The sound file can be found in "\streamwaves\m13aa\bast01".

#15. Your character at one point in the game could threaten or ask a sith commander to help you.

#17. The player could go back to Dantooine after escaping the Leviathan.
The player could fight the sith occupying the destroyed enclave and look for survivors.

#18. Komad Furtuna (the Twi'lek hunter on Tatooine) had a lot of cut dialog.
Appearantly the mines that he plants to kill the Krayt Dragon are effective in weakening it to the point it can be attacked.
You had the option of helping him fight it or just standing back and letting him do his own dirty work... for once.

#19. Some jawa NPCs were apparently cut from tat_m18aa.

PROBABLY NOT DOABLE
===============

#1. You could compete in a Pazaak tournament on Manaan.

Existing Voice Overs hint at the tournament, but there are not enough Voice Overs, NPCs Scipts etc. left to make the tournament.

#2. A possibility to buy parts for the Swoop Bike. On the Swoop Track on Tatooine, when the player talks to a racer named Nico, he can still ask Nico where there's a place to buy upgrades for the swoop bike. Bioware forgot to cut this dialogue.

There is no possibility in the game to buy parts for Swoop Bikes, neither on Tatooine nor anywhere else in the game. This was maybe something the developers had in mind, but was dropped so early in the game that nothing besides the undeleted dialogue lines are left.

#3. An alternate Star Map scenario where the map is located in the maw of a sarlacc. The player must navigate an underground Rakatan temple in order to locate the pit, and then figure out how to get to the map without getting eaten.
[Dan Lotto Update 10-08]: After the interview with David Gaider, we know that it’s not a Rakatan Temple but a dungeon.
There's a sound file associated with this quest that still exists. It can be found in "\streamwaves\m44aa\wrai06" And about the sound file… that actually goes in the Rakatan Temple on the Unknown world. It’s not related to the dungeon. They are seperate pieces of content
PICTURES - http://www.lucasforums.com/showthrea...7&page=3&pp=40 (Keep scrolling down and you'll find them.)

As the starmap is actually located somewhere else on Tatooine the dungeon could only be used for a mod. The module itself is in a very unfinished state and could only be restored by a very talented artist. Beside that a totally new story with NPCs, Placeables etc. has to be done to make the restoration worthwhile.

#4. A quest that would have allowed the player to become a sort of Messiah of the Sandpeople and lead them against their Czerka corporation oppressors.

No Voice Overs (from non-Tuskens), Variables or anything else is left in the game which one could work from.

#5. You could go swoop racing on Kashyyyk, Dantooine and Korriban.

Nothing is left in the game one could work from.

#6. Davik Kang's second hanger. It could just be eye candy but it looks like Calo Nord's possible ship on the map. It looks like his room could of had a door to his ship.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...n88/DDavik.jpg
And also Davik says "Make it quick, Calo. The Sith mean business. If we don't get to our ships and find somewhere safe, the bombs they're dropping will kill us all." Not to mention that Davik and Calo come running from out of nowhere a.k.a. the wall seperating the two hangers. But I think that it could just be nothing.[unverified at this point, being researched 1/20/08]

Even if there were plans supporting this idea, its nothing left in the game.

#7. Considering the fact that this is an RPG game, one of the ideas Bioware must've have been toying with was how many times players could level up. Even I was a little dissapointed that you could only reach a level 20 with your character before you could no longer level up.

The level cap is hardcoded into the game and can’t be raised. As KotOR uses most of the rules of Wizards pen&paper rules of their (revised) core rulebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, which has also a level cap of 20, it all sounds logical that KotOR also has the same level cap and was always intended to have it as such.

#8. Early versions of the story included a subplot involving clones. Unfortunately, Lucasfilms ordered that this part of the story be cut in order to avoid giving away possible spoilers for "Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones".
INFORMATION - http://blogs.starwars.com/DrewK/5

Nothing cloney is in the game.

#9. Beleya's UTC file has scripts which show that Beleya originally could become a member of your party.

If Belaya was *originally* supposed to join the party is at least debateable. Obviously the developers decided against it. As Belaya actually has very little Voice Overs in the game, it doesn’t make sence to add her to the party to substitute any other of the party members.

07_4 - The Ebon Hawk Escapes The Sith Marauders - Variation 1a (The same as the movie above, but in a reversed camera shot.)
Blah... but it's restored. Check my sig.

#9. It appears as though nearly every one of your NPC teammates had something to say after you find the Star Map in Naga Shadow's tomb. However, as we all know, only your character is allowed to enter Naga Shadow's tomb.

This is also restored, I just haven't been able to play through it to get screens so I can upload.

#8. Iriaz on Dantooine – files on drive, publishing to be clarified

I PMed Master Zionosis about this awhile ago. Here's the new link: http://www.masterzionosiskotorsite.com/Mods/Iriaz_Dantooine_Modules_Fix_Final.rar

#4. The Sith patrol you meet in the Undercity was at one time in the sewers (or possibly it was a second patrol) and were much harder to fool (you'd have to show your papers and then pass a persuade check).

I'm restoring this with the trash compactor puzzle.

#5. A little bit of unused dialogue near the beginning, Carth tells the PC to go back to sleep until their injuries heal.

I thought Darth Jeebus was working on this. Where did he go anyway?

#1. You could compete in a Pazaak tournament on Manaan.
Existing Voice Overs hint at the tournament, but there are not enough Voice Overs, NPCs Scipts etc. left to make the tournament.

This could be done with alien VO's. Scripts aren't that hard to make unless you're me...

I'm pretty sure this isn't restorable as well. But then again I've never modded swoop related things.

As the starmap is actually located somewhere else on Tatooine the dungeon could only be used for a mod. The module itself is in a very unfinished state and could only be restored by a very talented artist. Beside that a totally new story with NPCs, Placeables etc. has to be done to make the restoration worthwhile.

This would be easier to restore than...making Sleheyron :xp: You're correct in saying that us mere mortals can't do it. The star map would have to removed from the Krayt cave too but I don't know how much skill that would take. It would be just as hard as restoring the post-bombardment Dantooine which you put as "doable."

#4. A quest that would have allowed the player to become a sort of Messiah of the Sandpeople and lead them against their Czerka corporation oppressors.

No Voice Overs (from non-Tuskens), Variables or anything else is left in the game which one could work from.

This would be another high level mod. It would be very hard to do. You would need human VA's and play around with HK-47's VOs.

#5. You could go swoop racing on Kashyyyk, Dantooine and Korriban.

Nothing is left in the game one could work from.

Can custom swoop tracks be made yet?

#6. Davik Kang's second hanger. It could just be eye candy but it looks like Calo Nord's possible ship on the map. It looks like his room could of had a door to his ship.

Even if there were plans supporting this idea, its nothing left in the game.

Nothing other than the picture on the map.

#7. Considering the fact that this is an RPG game, one of the ideas Bioware must've have been toying with was how many times players could level up. Even I was a little dissapointed that you could only reach a level 20 with your character before you could no longer level up.

I also do not think that this is "restorable."

#8. Early versions of the story included a subplot involving clones.
Nothing cloney is in the game.

You can't argue with that. :)

If Belaya was *originally* supposed to join the party is at least debateable. Obviously the developers decided against it. As Belaya actually has very little Voice Overs in the game, it doesn’t make sence to add her to the party to substitute any other of the party members.

I'm inclined to agree.

As with other team configurations, if Juhani and Canderous were part of the player's team, they were supposed to have dialog with each other. Specifically about the Mandalorian invasion of Cathar.
If the player didn't kill Juhani, the Jedi Belaya, from the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine, was supposed to have been captured and kept as a prisoner aboard the Leviathan. She would later discovered to have died in captivity
Out of curiosity, where are VOs for this stuff? Can't find it. (guess I just don't know where to search :xp:)

CrisG, were you missing a question #8 in your original list?

Also, when you go through your list tp update it, could you have the most current mod links to KOTORFiles? (Some of the mod/restorations have had updates since your last refreshing of the list.)

Thanks for the input, folks! I updated my original post.

I thought Darth Jeebus was working on this. Where did he go anyway?.

I contacted Jeb via email, but until now he did not replay. Also I looked into the dialogue file and did not find anything that indicates that something was cut. I compared the original file with what Jebus restored, and there are no differences (?).

This could be done with alien VO's. Scripts aren't that hard to make unless you're me...

There are indications in the game that some of the players are humans and not all aliens (!). I consider the Pazaak tournament a major mod with many scripts, if done correctly. The only things that *are* left are some lines (two or three) that there *will* be a Pazaak tournament, and a dialogue tree with the *outcome* (lost / won).

I'm pretty sure this isn't restorable as well. But then again I've never modded swoop related things.

If done, you must manipulate how swoop races work (your swoop has to be faster, accelaterate more etc.). The question is, does that include any benefit (besides making the tracks easier)?

This would be easier to restore than...making Sleheyron :xp: You're correct in saying that us mere mortals can't do it. It would be just as hard as restoring the post-bombardment Dantooine which you put as "doable."

Actually the starmap isn't in said module, if I remember correctly. Nevertheless the module looks interesting visually. It also could easily be connected to the krayt cave (where it was intended to be, I think). If we find an artist who finishes the module, I am all for it!

As of Sleheyron, Sith Specter, as well as Darth Jebus are lost in limbo, I think. As with all ambitious projects, I expect Sleheyron to be never be finihded. Nevertheless I leave Sleheyron on "Investigated on" :-) .

This would be another high level mod. It would be very hard to do. You would need human VA's and play around with HK-47's VOs.

I didn't find anything in the game which underlines the rumour. It would be a mod and not a restoration, as I found nothing so far that underlines the rumour. It could also be a false one...

Can custom swoop tracks be made yet?

I don't know actually. The question is, do we want more swoop tracks, and how plausible is a track on said planets?!

Thanks for all the help!

Carth's cut apartment dialog file that Darth Jebus releases cut out after a few sentances and never faded back in after the first fade out, leaving you stuck in the dark apartment. The animation of the PC getting up was gone, too. I looked in the file itself and it was a mess. The cut dialog has voiceover, so it was really cut by Bioware. Jebus apparently got banned, as it says below his old posts. so someone else will probably have to do this instead. I would but I wouldn't know where to begin.

Yep, and Jeb's dialogue didn't have references to the dialog.tlk file, which confused me the most. Can you point me to the files you found, as I did not find any differences to the original one (except the missing references to dialog.tlk, of course)?

An open word about the ban policy here (which might get me a ban also). People are different in many ways, some make mistakes - some big ones, some smaller ones. Both Darth Jebus and Darth Balor (just to name two from the top of my head) were active users here who contributed to the community. Both showed that they can mod. Jeb was working on the restoration of an injured Sith in the Rakatan Temple on the Unkown World, and Balor was working on the deleted Cserka Office on Kashyyyk. I got an early view on the last one, and it looked very, very promissing. I don't know what those two did to deserve banning. But sometimes it might be good to use the benefit of the doubt (right term?).

I got the promiss of banning for double posting two times, while I clearly explained why I was double posting. I created a thread titled "All things KotOR", where I posted everything published regarding KotOR (comics, minis etc.). When I added new stuff, the thread was closed, because it was too old (!). After it was closed, the moderator made fun of me in the chat room, because I revived the thread with new stuff. I catched that, because I just entered the chat room coincidentally (never to return again, of course). Very strange behavior here...

But I get very off topic, and I apologize.

Take care

Doesn't the shape of Calos ship on the map look familiar?

It looks kinda like either the sith shuttle on Manaan, or the ship we see landing in the middle hangar on manaan.

I must check this. Anyway, with the problems FrustrationMan mentioned (as he seems to have tested it) it might be difficult to rectify it. If I remember correctly, we only have the compiled scripts for the conditionals.

If it requires human VOs then it could be a problem finding willing human to voice them. How many humans would it take?

I did not find anything that indicates how the tournament works, the difficulty, the participants or anything else. We would need a totally new storyline. I like Pazaak as much as the next one, but a tournament would include a game after a game after a game. That is not that exciting, and I assume (beside other things) why it was deleted. As I said, we had to do this from scratch.

I don't think there could be any benefits besides making it easier.

Okay, so we drop that to the bottom of the priority list :-) .

I meant that the starmap would need to be removed from the Krayt Dragon's cave. I know it's not in the dungeon.

I wouldn't change the game that drastically. If an artist would make the dungeon workable, we could make a little sidequest with that module, a little more elaborate than my Shadowlands module, of course. But that was my first major mod... I wouldn't want to replace the starmap.

SS, you posted but didn't respond to this :xp:

Ah, SS, is still active. Nevertheless I wouldn't hold my breath for completion of Sleheyron. If all the needed/desired modules are ready, we'll see what we can do.

David Gaider has confirmed it: http://lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=185850

I lost the reference here :-) .

I wouldn't mind having more but I've never really used the ones that are already there. I guess it could make sense to have tracks on the planets...in suitable locations.

I don't know how to make new tracks, and I always was comfortable with the ones in the game. And I doubt the benefit of it, besides that you can call yourself Swoop-Champion of Kashyyyk etc. And as the NPCs don't make references to it in their conversations (as with Taris, Manaan... ) *shrug*

All in all you are right, Dan: some things could be worked on still. The biggest one I missed, which is the Czerka office on Korriban (where Darth Balor worked upon). To make it all more doable I'd like to work with one or two motivated other modders to work on the restorations and pool our resources.

The only file I was talking about was Jebus's restored apartment file he released. It reintroduced Carth's cut dialog at the expense of the problems I previously mentioned. Is that what you meant, because I'm not sure we're on entirely the same page?

Yes, thats what I ment. As I said above, I think we only have the compiled scripts, and I don't know how to read compiled scripts (which doesn't mean, I know how to read no-compliled scripts :-) ). If time permits, I'll look into it again...

EDIT: Both the original dialogue as well as Jeb's use k_ptar_carth00 for availability and k_ptar_fadein for script that fires when spoken at the beginning (first line of Carth's dialogue), and k_ptar_fadeout for script that fires when spoken at the end (second line of Carth's dialogue) - see Dan's screenshot of the dialogue file above. So I cannot see what Jeb actually changed (all scripts only exist in compiled form unfortunately). (No other files are in Jeb's donwload!) Nevertheless, like FrustratioMan points out, while using Jeb's file one obviously gets Carth's dialogue (?), but with the gamebreaking results. I am at a loss here what Jebus did, unless I overlook something.

If we find out how the deleted dialogue is triggered (I don't see how at the moment though), the next dialogue could maybe be triggered with a fadein, and then the game progresses as we all know it. Maybe I have an appropiate savegame and can look into it...

Most of the links you posted were blank sadly. Some of the files you can find easily by just taking the end number at the end of the knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com urls and thusly fixing them. However I can't find the following files:

#17. Echani Mercenary on Manaan

Quote: #2. There was an alternate way into the Sith base on Taris. The junior sith officers you meet in the cantina could later be talked to at the party for a chance to buy a pass card into the base.

This is really odd, and I doubt any of you will believe this, but one day, I decided to play KOtoR, and I did the Endar Spire, and then decided to do the cantina way to get sith uniforms. Does that make sense? Keep Reading. Anyway, I exausted every talk option possible, and went to the apartment for the party & uniforms. This sounds pretty simple, but anyway, I dont remember EXACTLY what I did, but i got the uniforms, and (I don't know why I did this), but I chose to try breaking into the sith base. I don't remember if it worked the first time, but if it didn't, I went to the cantina, and talked with the sith people and tried again (I dont remember which one I did), and anyway, I ended up opening the sith base to Taris shortly after gaining the armor. I know I didn't go into the sith base, because I was afraid that I would die, the simple little level 3 scout I was. This makes me think that one of my mods (like BHoS or Yavin IV) did somehting with it, and did something that did something with something that wasn't deleted by Bioware (forgive my lack of computer terminology, I'm pretty new to this) created that. Thus, I think that somehow, the character was supposed to be able to enter the Sith Base another way, but I don't think it was by buying a passcard from a sith.

Edit: OMG, I found out what triggered that event. When you go to the party (I dont know about if female works, but I know male does), Sarna talks to you, and offers you Tarisian Ale. Yun Genda walks up and says that its strong, but Sarna says to live a little. I think what happened next (to me) is a bug, but after that, everyone usually falls over. This time, they handed me an item, and then just stood there. Later, when I came back, they were gone. I looked to see what they gave me, and IT WAS A SITH PASSCARD!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only problem is that it doesn't work. I think that in the cut content, I was to buy it from them, but, who knows? Also, the bag with the Sith armor was in the left side of the room, not the right. BTW, HOW CAN I GET STARTED DOING SIMPLE MODS?
