Hello!

I want to spawn a npc. No problem there.

But I want that the npc runs away from the pc as long as he is either alone or in solo mode.

I assume that I need a script for the reaction of the npc and some waypoints the npc follows when the pc is not alone.

Hmm, why not try the script at the end of Lehon/Unknown Planet? Carth runs away then.

Do you need the NPC to just run away from the player in general when they approach, or should it run to a specific place?

Actually it will be a runaround (until the player tries another approach, but tell nobody, please!).
