“Hello and welcome to the Verpax, combatants. Here you will face against creatures and opponents of all kinds from all corners of existence, on terrain that can either glorify or kill you, with allies who are completely alien to you. You can go it alone at first, but as the challenges become more difficult it is inevitable that you either accept help from the other combatants or end up dragon/werewolf/alien/etc. food. The reason you should fight? You don’t have a choice. Well you do in a sense, but dieing I would think is something that most, if not all, of you would prefer to avoid. At any rate, if you make it through all the matches then you’re set to go back to wherever you came from and pretend like this never happened. The basic story is this: Your character, custom or pre-existing, has been taken from their universe to fight in an arena blood sport for the entertainment of the Sovonions, an advanced species who, obviously, have inter-universal capabilities. While this naturally wouldn’t go down well, being held at gun point doesn’t give you much in the way of options if you like living. The Verpax, the main arena for this sport, resembles the Roman Coliseum in design and is able to make its main arena simulate virtually any environment. The actually structure itself houses dozens of smaller arenas, holding cells for fighters just starting out, and a few barracks for housing fighters who have started to gather into teams.

The Sovonions themselves are a bipedal species that looks like a cross between a dinosaur, a bird, and some human characteristics, with a leg structure that is digigrade in design. The have long heads that gradually begin to feather as you start from the snout. The body is feathered, and they have long, three fingered hands with razor sharp claws. They bear a single curved claw in place of a big toe, similar to a raptor’s, and are all generally colors ranging from red to blue, black to white. They are amazingly fast for bipedal creatures, and generally their movements are fast and precise, which makes it look like their jerking their heads around at most times. They’re generally also very aggressive and mainly carnivorous, so it’d be a really good idea to avoid making one mad unless you can defend yourself easily. The ones you will be seeing, mainly guards, will be wearing armor specifically designed for their anatomy, while a few may even be, in a creepily familiar and comical way, will be wearing togas.

When I get enough people, I’ll start the RP. When we are through the orientation, I’ll create a list of matches from which your character can choose to be in.

The rules of participation in this RP are standard:
No god-modding
Minimal Character Control (Starmark's said why more than enough)
No killing other PCs without permission
If you're gone for 7 days, then your character becomes an NPC until your return. (Starmark’s rules should just be put up in a rules thread or something)
Thread master controls all 'plot sensitive' NPCs

Name: Zionist
Species: Unknown; Nicknamed ‘VerseWalker
Gender: Male
Age: 101,217 (Appears 24)
Appearance: 6’3 ft tall human with a muscular medium build. Zionist has a dark iris, almost black but not quite with silver short cropped hair that doesn’t look as if it’s been combed in years. He is deprived of any form of fat, making him either muscle or bone. Zionist wears a body suit which has the color scheme of black and white camouflage.
Weapons: No apparent weapons
Bio: Zionist is a traveler so to speak, the last of a hyper-advanced inter-universal faring species that was wiped out by a genocidal war and virus. Other than that, you won’t really hear much else from him on the subject of his past. You will hear a good story or two from him though, having a good amount of travel and make them.

Overall, Zionist is a nice guy. He’s patient, respectful, playful, and wise. The only bad thing that could really be associated with him is the fact that he is the willing host for “a bio-mechanical virus that is able to use both organic and inorganic material to spread its matrix and melds both into one living organism which it controls, and a virulent, parasitic organism that thrives by infecting sentient lifeforms of sufficient biomass and cognitive capability.” Not exactly the most pleasant two as you might imagine, but when Zionist was being hunted right after his species genocide they both came in handy in combat and counseling. Though they’ve outlived his need for them, he feels guilty just thinking about the notion of getting rid of them due to the fact that they’re the reason he’s still alive. However, they don’t take too well to being tools. It’s a mental war between he and them at most times, and occasionally it escalates to the point of making him very aggressive, shifting control of the vocal and automotive functions, or even temporary complete loss of vocal and automotive functions. Most of the time though Zionist keeps them under control though so it rarely becomes a problem unless he stays in one ‘Verse too long, and they virtually never show themselves short of infecting other victims.

On a completely different note, Zionist has acid blood, likes snow, playing piano, and helping people in need. He doesn’t like to stay in any one place for too long because of his hitchhikers, but will most of the time see a conflict through if he’s involved. Zionist was on a desolate frozen world looking for a remnant of his species technology when he was ‘invited’ to come and participate in the Verpax. He killed three of the Sovonions sent to capture him before he came quietly.

Hmm... I really do need practice writing combat scenes. Count me in, though I'll have to give a think about what character I want to bring in. :P

It's a toss up at the moment between my original character Jasra from Darkness Falls, Aragorn from Lord of the Rings, or Kara Thrace from Battlestar Galactica. :) But it'll be one of those three.

Weapon: Force Pike (preferred), Mandalorian disruptor (modified), but also has a yellow light sabre (for use on ‘special occasions’)

BIO: During the Darth Nihilus/Darth Sion purges, Jasra hid with her Master on a remote planet on the Outer Rim, patiently waiting for word from the Council that it was safe to return to Coruscant. Darth Sion’s forces found them, and her Master sacrificed herself so that Jasra could escape. Since then, Jasra has learned how to ‘mask’ her affinity with the Force, a skill which proved useful in avoiding detection from the ‘new Sith’, but without guidance from a Jedi Master, she has picked up some decidedly darker, skills—such as Force Scream, Force Lightning, and a new power she calls Force Reflection (a defensive power which basically ‘reflects’ back any force power used against her by another Force user). She has lost all faith in the Jedi Order (who she feels have abandoned her), and so now she wanders the Galaxy, selling her services as a tracker/mercenary and occasionally a dancer (but only when she really needs the credits!), while she seeks out opportunities to learn more about the Force on her own. Her most recent ‘job’ was tracking down the Jedi Exile for a client. While on the job, she met and fell in love with Brax, an Omwati priest and leader of his clan, who taught her the ways of the Force, albeit more the Dark Side than the Light.

As always Rex, I loyally join you. I'm not sure who I want as a character though.....It's a tough decision between Vash, The MC (You know who that is, Rex. ;) ), or an OC.....

BTW: I thought you were going to have the Arb. (abbreviated for no reason.) too? Or so you told me.

Age: 21 (I'm just making up the age, because CAPCOM didn't release his)
Personality: rash and daring

Weapons: Blue Rose, an over-and-under double barreled revolver and his custom sword the Red Queen
Bio: An orphan that was adopted by the Order of the Sword, he has grown up to be a Holy Knight in the Order. Nero is a descendant of Sparda’s blood, which grants him the ability of a demon, which power manifests in his Demon Arm. When he unleashes his true power, Nero is shadowed by a giant disembodied demon spirit, granting him more power and strength.

Because of this strange power, the Sovonions decided to include Nero on their little "show". Confronted by a multitude of enemies wielding advanced technology, he was finally captured and is now en route to the Verpax.

Well you stole my rules so I should join this.
Anyway there’s no other character I can think of that would be brought into a challenge like this other than my favourite mercenary captain from the Mercenary Crew: Age of the Empire threads.

Name: Nic White (A.K.A. Simon Raikellii)
Species: Human

’Betsy’- Short-range scatter shot blaster rifle (also known as a shotgun). Nic's favourite weapon, made by his own hands. The gun is devastating at short range letting out a heavy burst of energy with each shot. Nic named the weapon as he has always believed that machines with names have souls and weapons with souls will never misfire or fail when you need them. As why he chose 'Betsy' is a mystery to all but himself.
Blaster Pistol– A standard, run-of-the-mill pistol Nic picked a few years after leaving Naboo. It's quite accurate, powerful and reliable so he never saw any reason to replace it.
Raikellii Blade- one of only three things Nic kept from his old life. The knife is a family heirloom passed down to the first-born son in the Raikelli line. Although seemingly plain, it's perfectly balanced to be both a melee and throwing weapon. The blade is made of the rare and virtually invulnerable material Cortosis, which can disrupt lightsabers. Why a member of the Raikelli line would need a blade with such properties is a mystery to Nic.
Bio: Trained in an elite anti-terrorist and commando unit on Naboo Nic is an expert in stealth and infiltration. He was so good at these skills he was recruited by the Jedi during the Clone Wars to act as a covert agent. As Simon Raikellii he carried out missions against the separatists including missions to Assinate Dark Jedi, something he was Quite Good at.

At the end of the war Simon changed his name to Nic White and began working a mercenary. Unknown to him his family has a legacy that has fallen on him to Protect a person so special to the Galaxy that her death could lead to it’s destruction.

Also has retractable boot-knife.
Bio: After the events with his brother (Here's a Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vash_the_Stampede) to Wiki for a full desription of his past.), Vash decided to once again, try and lead a quiet life, and existence. He settled down with Maryl, and lived happily for sixty years, until she died. After her death, he began wandering again, pursuing his ideals once again, with the aid of his now reformed brother. In truth, Vash is once again haunted by internal strife, and complications, and has taken up his old gun, along with his old friend's - Nicholas D. Wolfwood's - Cross Punisher. His brother, though different, is still not very trustworthy, and so Vash keeps his brother's pistol on him, only giving it to his brother in emergencies.

Recently Vash and his brother were approached by strange 'bird-folk', who attempted to capture them. Vash and Knives fought them off without causing them harm, but more and more kept coming, eventually Vash was forced to make Knives run for it while he held them off, in the end the plan worked, Knives escaped, while Vash was knocked unconcious, nearly beaten to a pulp, and dragged off with his weapons in tow.

-JSYK: I'm not bringing Knives in as my second character. I'm thinking I might actually create an OC, or maybe use Deadpool, or something.....Meh, who knows, I'll have to see when the RP starts.-

Oh, and so that I don't break my traditional bout, I have to say, "Hope everything's okay, if not, tell me, and I'll change it." Though, I'm almost certain that you'll have nothing to say against my character, so *shrugs*.

Species: Human (Super Mutant)

Gender: Male

Age: Older than 89. Marcus himself does not know precisely.

Weapons: Marcus is devastating with his fists, but he prefers the use of a Super Sledgehammer in close-range combat, as, it's technological force combined with his raw strength can squash skulls and punch through armor.

He also carries a minigun pulled off a helicopter, as well as several hundred rounds of 7.62mm bullets for it. For any human, this weight would break their arms, but for Marcus, it's more of an uncomfortable burden.

Bio: Marcus' origins are unknown to him, only vague senses of his time as a normal human prior to his dipping in the Forced Evolutionary Virus (F.E.V.). As a Super Mutant, he was one of the 'lucky' ones, as he retained his intellectual capacity as well as gaining great strength and size.

Following the death of Marcus' leader, a mutant known as The Master, Marcus wandered the wilderness for many years until encountering a man named Jacob, a Knight of the Brotherhood of Steel. After fighting for well over a day, they realized the stalemate and formed a truce that would become friendship. During their travels, they accumulated a great following of refugees, until they finally settled in the place that would one day become Broken Hills.

Decades later, after Jacob had died of old age, a strange man entered the town, the grandson of the Master's slayer. Marcus joined with this man and together, they fought the Enclave. After the downfall of the corrupt government, they parted ways, The Chosen One returning to his people with the Garden of Eden Creation Kit, and Marcus beginning to wander again.

My characters need some explanation:

Species: Jumper (human, with genetic abnormality)
Special ability: teleportation
Limits: Jumpers can only teleport to places they have been before, or places they have seen, or places they can see. Looking at a photo works just as well.
History: Jumpers have been witnessed throughout history, but most of them have been known to use their power for their own benefit. For that reason, the Paladins came into being, for the sole purpose of hunting Jumpers. There is nothing by which to identify a Jumper until they make their first jump and discover their ability, but the Paladins are extremely accurate when tracking newly manifested Jumpers. While Paladins cannot jump on their own, they have managed over the years to construct technology that takes advantage of a Jumper’s ‘jump scars’, small tears in space left by a Jumper’s passage that eventually close, or heal.

Because of the Paladins, Jumpers rarely survive beyond a few days after their manifestation. There are a few, however, that manage to survive, whether by keeping their jumping to a minimum, or by meeting the Paladins in combat when they appear and succeeding.

For years after that, Tyler jumped only when he felt it was absolutely necessary, and he took to carrying a baseball bat around wherever he went. When he went to his high school graduation, Tyler finally had his first encounter with a Paladin. It did not go well. Though he had his jumping ability, the Paladin had his own weapons, designed to trap Jumpers. It was only by the intervention of another Jumper that Tyler escaped. Her name was Eva Cruz.

Bio: Eva was raised by another Jumper, knew right from her time of manifestation what dangers faced her. Her awareness of the dangers increased when the Paladins captured and killed her adoptive mother. From that day forward, Eva never went anywhere unarmed. Though her primary goal is to avoid the Paladins at all cost, she doesn’t hesitate to end their lives if the opportunity presents itself.

The rescue of Tyler Whitman was far from planned. Eva had gone to the same high school as Tyler was graduating from, and an old friend had asked if she’d go to graduation that year. Though she was a little uncomfortable with the idea, Eva agreed. From there, it was just being in the right place at the right time, hearing Tyler’s screams and jumping in to a situation that, while she had not expected, she was fully prepared for. After freeing Tyler from his Paladin captor, Eva took them both through a series of jumps. Only after that, did she introduce herself.

The pair have been traveling together since that day.

Capture: The Sovonions tried three times to capture Eva and Tyler before adapting their advanced technology in ways that would prevent the two Jumpers from escaping. Once restrained, the pair were rendered unconscious. When they awake, they’ll be inside one of the cells within the Verpax, and they’ll have been fitted with collars that prevent them from jumping back to their own universe, or out of the Verpax. They’ll still have jumping abilities, but they’ll have a limit on how far they can jump.

Glad to have you all aboard! Judging by the amount of people we have now, I think it's safe to say we can start. I'll have the IC thread up either today or tomorrow, most likely tomorrow due to the fact that I'm going to be busy today. If anyone else still wants to join before then, or possibly after, just post here.
