1. Commando Class
2. Arc Trooper Class
3. Null Trooper Class
4. Others any ideas?
5. All of the above

I would chose 5 i think that would be awesome with those classes of course you would have to earn the some how.

I think you should be able to customize the units you can use.
like choosing what kind of rifles, sniper-rifles, rocket-launchers, shotguns, etc
as in having a tropper with a light rapid firing rifle with a larger clip and fully automatic side arm, and mines.
or
having a sniper with a semi automatic sniper and a disrupter pistol, and electromagnetic grenades.

see what im getting at?

I think you already said this but these are my $.02 on it. ^^

I agree that fully customizable units is not a good thing. unless the four core classes remain the same but you can use different variations of equipment within the four core classes.

Such as more nades for the heavy instead of mines, or giving the sniper the option to switch to dual pistols as a secondary instead of two nades.

Then off course offering different variations of nades to equip with such as stun, detonation on impact but with a reduced damage radius, and the standard nades used currently in BFII.

Nothing should alter the units abilities overall though such as armor, and speed.

I doubt they know the difference, i don't.

o well ya true i forgot that most of the people on this one wouldnt but if u want to find out just read the Republic Commando books they r awesome but just so u know the Nulls are Kal Skirata's "sons" and they r faster stronger smarter and have perfect recall they r much better than the reg ARCs

This isnt an RC game however, its a battlefront game, where the premise was to play as a grunt. Not as an obscenely overpowered jedi, or just as over powered commando type unit.

true sorry i like commandos and the fact ive been reading the books doesnt really help wat i say when i go to sections that dont invovle RCs but i still think it would be cool in a way but then again if everyone started picking commandoes and Nulls and ARCs then everything else would be obsolete

Remember special classes have a limit!

yea true

Dude.....If you took BF3, and put commando's in it, that would be awesome. Even ARC's would be cool too.

Like jawathehutt said, it isn't a RC game. And i think if you put ARC's and Commando's as regular choices, it would be an easy game, if they stuck to there superiority to the reg's.

RC-1183
08-12-2008, 12:22 PM
exactly i said that like 3-4 posts ago but its still true unless......... unless u could only unlock them if u had like 3-1 odds against you

jawathehutt

How does the game tell something like that, it would take a huge amount of time and work to make a system that would analize every factor in a match to determn if an advantage that powerful was needed on a certain side, time that would be put to better use on other things like gameplay.

RC-1183
08-12-2008, 08:52 PM
all they would have to do would make it know if 1 side was outnumbered 10 to 50 then they would give it to them

GeneralPloKoon
08-12-2008, 09:45 PM
Still commandos are a RC thing, plus in a way they are stealthy assassin troopers, not normal soldiers.

jawathehutt
08-13-2008, 01:25 AM
all they would have to do would make it know if 1 side was outnumbered 10 to 50 then they would give it to them

but then what if 3 more people show up and 2 of them happen to be gods at the game, then you have 2 great players plus someone with an extremely overpowered unit, the balance will be shifted completely

RC-1183
08-13-2008, 10:27 AM
well computers cant judge skill so i would say that they just run out of luck and got screwed

jawathehutt
08-13-2008, 11:28 AM
And to avoid that, they should could just not put in commandos

RC-1183
08-13-2008, 11:51 AM
but then again how many times would that happen not that offten

I think that they should add as many more cool classes as possible.

M@RS

I'd like to be able to customize the armor... Like in Halo 3. And be able to pick up peoples weapons when they die, or switch weapons with one of your team mates like in Halo 2...

Darth Eclipse

They should add the classes that are in The Force Unleashed. Such as: Incinerator Trooper, Shadow Trooper, Etc.

LordOfTheFish

Thats not a half bad idea. Maybe add a shadow guard as a villain.

GeneralPloKoon

I would like the TFU classes, maybe for certain timeframes.

LordOfTheFish
10-04-2008, 03:16 PM
Thats what Darth Eclipse was saying.

By time frames, did you mean for certain eras or for short periods of time?

Darth Eclipse

Certain eras, I think.

GeneralPloKoon

By time frames, did you mean for certain eras or for short periods of time?
Example:
Level-Bespin Cloud City
Era-Glactic Civil War
Timeframes avaliable
-New Imperial Order(The Force Unleashed)
-Rebellion(episodes IV,V,VI)
-The New Republic(The Thrawn and Daala campaigns)

Does that help?
Each timeframe would have similar but a different set of classes.

bokkenblader56
10-04-2008, 07:17 PM
Yep, eras. Yeah, I can see that working. Kind of like the Conversion pack.

Henz

I don't really think we need more, just more refined choices so each really has advantages and disadvantages.

Heroes need to be a lot less prominant: Used when relevent in campaign, and optional in free play - randomly selected by era to remove the problems with allocating heroes to levels. And for the love of god take the shotgun down a notch. I'll never use any other class again lol

That is genius. I'm serious. As it is, the sides are essentially completely the same except for the special classes.

And that's a problem how? If they're refined you can begine to muck with variety IN THE DETAILS. The biggest problem with the previous BFs is that as Star Wars games they're alright, but as shooters they're rather *blargh.* I'd rather gameplay was a lot more like Republic Commando's taken to an extreme.

Oh yeah, hello, not a newbie!

I'd say that *blargh* is a very good description of them as shooters. Not sure whether RC taken to an extreme would be ideal, but it's definitely in the general direction. And variety sounds really good right about now. The only variety I can get for SWBF2 is in mod maps, and with those they have to be in the same class as Battle of the Titans.
