Now, I'm not going to call myself an Iron Maiden fan, cause I only know 2-3 Iron Maiden songs. However, this is still a travesty.

One of the Maiden songs I know and love is Run To The Hills. Give it a listen here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZlDZPYzfm4&feature=related) if you havn't heard it yet.

Last night, I came across a version of it done by a band called Sign, on a Kerrang! tribute cd to Iron Maiden. I don't know how they can get away putting it on a tribute cd.

Click, and prepare to cringe. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPtI90bECtw)

So many things wrong here. Just, just, what the f***.

I am offended. Stupid emo punks trying to "tribute" a song from possibly the greatest epic metal band there is.

Who votes firing squad?

Yeah, if anything, you're more of a Rod Stewart song.

I didn't think it was great, but I didn't find it horrible either.

I was never a fan of Run for the Hills, or Iron Maiden for that matter, but that is a travesty. I hate people who do hideous covers of songs they've probably never heard in depth. Five bucks says that Run for the Hills is the only Iron Maiden song the whole band ahs ever heard, because it was on Rock Band.

At least they didn't do 2 minutes to Midnight, then I would be REALLY angry. Probably too complex for them anyway.

...so yeah, you can club an aligator to death with another aligator, but overall it's probably not worth the time investment.

Dr. McNinja ftw

I dunno. I'd pay cash money to see that.

They deserve a professional assassin after them if they cover "the trooper"

They deserve a nuke if they do another cover like this, not necessarily Iron Maiden.

Tribute albums have to be outlawed NOW!!!

Too many horrible, horrible covers ruining my memories of perfectly good songs.

Maybe we should go so far as to outlaw the cover song once and for all... just to be safe.

I'm sick and tired of seeing lame indie-rockers covering (and always botching and butchering) an otherwise amazing rock classic in order to be "ironic."

Trust me... I was more than a little annoyed at this trend before I heard this track (and, for the record: I worshipped Maiden through my mid- and late-teen years...)

I watched part of the VH1 "Rock Honors" for The Who last night, and was left totally disappointed. Besides Pearl Jam, (and maybe the Foo Fighters,..) none of the bands had the chops to even play the songs properly... and it seemed like most of them just didn't get it.

Lame.

DEATH TO COVER VERSIONS OF AMAZING SONGS BY ****TY, ****TY BANDS!!!!!

In other news, the rest of the cd isn't bad. Coheed and Cambria and Dream Theatre do awesome jobs of The Trooper and To Tame A Land respectively.

lulz to Maxstate and the whole hurf durf thing. I pee'd a little.

Hey, you gotta agree that it's a ****ty cover though. But then again, the amount of gruesome cover songs out there by far outweighs the good ones, yet the world keeps turning.

CapNColostomy

I couldn't be bothered to listen to the cover. While not a big Maiden fan, the original was ****ing great. I'll not dick around with anything less worthy. For gruesome covers though, look no further than Graveyard Classics II. It's half lol, half gtfo, which apparently equals win.

Six Feet Under, right? That looks so goofy that I've made a point to stay away from it.

Haha, I see it has a grand total of 23% at The Metal Archives after 14 reviews.

Yeah! It's pretty ridiculous. It's awesome to hear all those classic AC/DC tunes done up with death metal vox and such, but the novelty wears off pretty fast. Chris Barnes, a founding father in the entire genre of extreme metal, has really let himself go to the ****ter.

You and Allen West met at a gay bar and wanted to start a band
You got kicked out of Cannibal Corpse because you suck
You started Six Feet Under and they suck too

That is abominable. I don't know why Iron Maiden must be covered so much. Why don't people understand that it's impossible, nay, IMPLAUSIBLE to attempt to cover the greatest band ever and sound decent.
