View Full Version : Your Favourite Planets!

Planets! What planets do you want included in this game? Where will you set up your base? Which planets do you want to visit?

Currently as far as I know, three planets have been confirmed: Coruscant, Korriban and Tython.

I'm guessing Nar Shaddaa and Dantooine have to be there. Strong chance of Onderon, Telos and maybe even Taris. And oh, Tatooine. Can't have a Star Wars game without Tatooine. ;)

I'd set up base at Coruscant, since it's so cool. :D

I'd like to see the likes of Bastion, Eriadu, Corulag, Kuat (Imperial worlds), and maybe the likes of Hoth and Bespin. Maybe even Endor so I can get some vengeance on the Ewoks for ROTJ!:D

As for my base, if I had a choice, I'd choose one of the 'Imperial' worlds I mentioned above, or Coruscant.

Coruscant, more likely. I'd really like to take a look how does a post-sacked core planet looks like. All I'm saying is that I want some ruined skyscrappers. :xp:

Tython would also be a sight, since it's a place that'll make it's debut now. But I doubt a Jedi planet can be much interesting. It'll more likely be a calm place like Dantooine.

And if I had to bet on another addition, that would be Manaan. On the story overview so far it got some special mentioning, so I'm hoping we'll se Ahto, the Selkath, kolto and the Firaxans sharks again.

From what I've read, it sounds like they want to invent some of their own new planets.

From what I remember reading, the surface structures on Manaan have been destroyed, and the Selkath have retreated back underwater. It would definitely be interesting to visit some of their underwater habitats, though.

Coruscant is my favorite planet in Star Wars so I am excited to see that one. They made it sound like we will see familiar locations from KotOR so that should be cool. Kashyyyk was my favorite planet in KotOR but not sure if I want to see it in TOR. Dantooine would be cool I think.

I'd like to hear about Bendak Starkiller, personally.

They never did make it clear if Revan killed him canonically or not. And if Revan didn't kill him, did he survive the attack?

I really liked Bendak - he always seemed so badass :D

I would definitely like to see Coruscant: the fact that it was sacked is somewhat hilarious. Not to mention destroyed cityscape would be a lot of fun to battle around/explore.

What else? I'd like to see a few new, original planets (of course, I wouldn't mind having the old planets and the new planets in one game).

Yeah, a few intermediate post-Triumvirate Sith Lords probably, but I would enjoy a few ancient tombs - like the ones the Revanchist were trying to unearth of the ancient Sith Lords - that'd be nice!

And yes, Coruscant should be interesting. It'd be good if they had a few intact areas too...

Corellia - Just have to go there.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Mustafar. Around this period, it would probably be grassy, and have a Jedi Academy on it. Or maybe, the volcanic activity picked up, and it started to become the lava planet it is during the movies.

I'm glad Coruscant is in there. Alderaan is hinted at, so that makes my day. Other than that, I'd love to see Manaan and Telos return. As for planets new to KotOR, I'd go with Ossus and Ziost, both key planets for Jedi & Sith. I'm guessing we'll get a lot of new planets, as the Sith Empire resides in the Outer Rim. I wouldn't mind some Core Worlds or some of the more famous ones (Corellia, Mon Calamari,...)

My favorite of the planets confirmed is definitely Tython. It is the birth world of the Jedi and is shrouded in mystery, which I love. One thing is bothering me about it, though: in Darth Bane: Rule of Two, the planet is described as being enshrouded in all-encompassing, unrelenting clouds, and that very little sunlight gets through to the surface. Yet, in the screen shots we see sunny skies and pink dusk. I wonder how they'll explain the inconsistency, if they even do at all.

Coruscant comes in as a close second. It might be very interesting to see what it was like in that era.

As for planets I hope make the cut, the only one that comes to mind at the moment is Ziost, the capital of the first Sith Empire.

List of planets from Wookiepedia (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Old_Republic):

Alderaan
Coruscant
Dathomir
Ilum
Korriban
Manaan
Tython

As it's from Wookiepedia, and that none of it is cited, then it's not the official, confirmed list...yet. However, we do know that Tython and Coruscant are definitely in-game planets, and that Korriban might make an appearance due to this (http://www.swtor.com/media/concepts/korriban-valley) concept art. But for the others, we'll have to wait and see.

Mandalore would be an AWESOME planet to see, especially in this time era. Also, I would like to revisit some planets and see how the exile and Revan effected them in the long run. Some new planets would be cool too, since we've seen a lot of these old ones already. I don't know, being an MMO it could be HUGE and have more planets than almost any star wars game yet! As it looks to be the Imperial HQ for the game, I would have liked to see a huge Coruscant map - but you are probably right. Still hoping that the map sizes generally will be much larger than those in KotOR. Rhen Var would be great, too.

I wonder what the likelihood of seeing worlds of the Chiss Ascendancy (Csilla, etc.) would be, considering the timeframe? I would like to have a wander around them, though.

Based on the comic-thingy, looks like Alderaan will get a look-in here, which would be good.

Actually, information on the site suggests that although the Sith bombed Coruscant into submission, it remains in Republic hands, though shots of the Sith capital (which is probably Korriban), certainly draw similarities to the Imperial Palace from the EU.

Ah - I had assumed that Palace was a Coruscant shot - mainly due to those same EU references. I just hope they don't use the 'bombing into submission' as an excuse for a really small Coruscant map - it really deserves something massive. So does Korriban, really. And Kashyyyk. I had been thinking that too, but I wasn't able to remember why I thought it! :xp:

I suppose in some ways it is understandable that BioWare would want to define what was initially their product without having to pay service to another company, but all the same it would be a pity if some things from TSL were excluded on that basis - in terms of planets particularly, the likes of the Malachor system, the revived Telos, Onderon, etc.

QFT; it's probably the reason Coruscant appears in few Star Wars games, infact I can't recall a game that lets you really explore any part of Coruscant :snear: or maybe I've just missed out. :p I'm not filled with confidence in Bioware - especially after the mass copy n' pastage of Mass Effect.

I'd quite like to see Ithor in the game, I think theres plenty of history, room for role playing and story - what Bioware has been blowing their bagpipes about.

You can't have an MMO with the Sith as a faction without there being Korriban really. Saying that, I doubt they'll throw planets in their if theres only one reason to have it - while I liked Taris I can't see any point of it being in TOR.

I'd be happy for Bioware to make some stuff up since its quite a blank period of the SW timeline. Though I have a hatred of tatooine :whacked:

I love urban locations and skyscraper worlds, so Coruscant is a must for me (and honsetly, I can't imagine this MMO without it). Nar Shaddaa rocked in TSL and gives tons of possibilities for bounty hunting missions so it would be lovely to see it too. But the most interesting could be bringing back Taris. 300 years have passes which is enough time to see this planet stand on it's feet. This could be an under-(re)construction location, with some parts of the city fully rebuilded, and some parts sill in ruins, reminding what has happened 300 years ago. Exploring the ruins of the city would be hella lot of fun esp if there we could find some stuff from the K1 era buried in it.

Definitely would want to see Ziost, I'm kind of sick of Korriban even thought we know it will be featured in TOR. Definitely do not want to see Tatooine. The most over-used planet in Star Wars ever.

It appears in the old Obi-Wan game, you can explore a bit in the Phantom Menace PS1 game and finally the longest level in Jedi Power Battles (ohhh how I love this game) is Corucant, in fact the level was sooo big (for the PS1) that it had to be split into 2 parts, halfway through there was a loading screen.

TBH, the timeline is wide open, I'd say there's more of a chance of it being in ToR than another period.

Beskar'gam Just means "Iron Skin" in Mando'a, any armor worn by Mandalorians throughout history is Beskar'gam. Beskar is a very strong Mandalorian Iron but the name is simply Mando'a for their Iron. From the Crusaders through to the armor in this game and on to the Death watch is Beskar'gam.

Yeah, that's why I listed it. Other planets I did not list are speculative, and I figured I'd put Tython on the Republic side with a "pretty sure" as the Jedi are still loyal to the Republic, but... who knows by the time the game gets released...

If I were to guess, I'd say Tatooine would be the Republic equivalent of Hutta, and will be where we get Smuggler(if smuggler is the counter to BH). Though, admittedly, I am tired of Tatooine... I live in the desert in real life. Last thing I need is to escape into a fantasy realm where I am put into... the desert...

Yeah even though we have seen Tatooine a ton I would not be surprised to see it again. As long as they give us a ton of other planets which if that galaxy map is correct looks like they will be, then I'm fine with a few rehashes.
