Finally made my first wip. This will be my first big mod, consisting of some reused areas, a quest and lots of BG items including "corrupted blades", which will be upgradeable lightsabers(all kinds are made, normal, double and short, read further for screens).

All items are now ready, and im ready to start making areas. I actually did already get one almost ready when i realised it was the wrong module i was editing, so that will have to be made again from a scratch...

If anyone wants to have their items included with this mod s/he should PM me a download link for the files and ill check if i think its fitting.

Cause i like randomness. Chaos=randomness, Blackguard=warrior of chaos. Ive decided that i will first model all the melee weapons just in gmax and then start importing them to the game. After that ill model the lightsabers and make them upgradeable, and finally, skin the armors(robe and heavy armor propably, or possibly a jal shey).

Hmm i decided to place the mod on dantooine cause its easy to add a new area on the planes. does dantooine canonically have four seasons? since if it does, im going to make it winter there.

Something you people have been eagerly awaiting(so it seems, no posts here other than mine): An update! Ive made some progress, the melee weapons are imported into the game. And since little babies, as they cant read, like pictures i decided to make them happy.




I would also like to point out to the moderators that i dont like posting many times in a row, but people wont notice edits.

Multiple posts are fine, even 'bumps' as long as they are an 'update' and not a simple bump.

And those weapons look cool. :thumbsup: -RH

Ok so as maybe some of you non existing followers of this thread know, ivebeen having some trouble getting the lightsaber blade work. I got a fun idea today: lets try something Jesus said a long time ago: If the machine cannot do it for you, do it for machine! Or was it buddha... Anyway, i did the pivot point setting by hand and it worked on the first try. So here is something to look at, dear imaginary beings! You thought i had quit didnt you:p

A little update here: I got the long sabers in game, and they work fine. Will start working on the shorties maybe tomorrow or the day after that.

Of course the player will be able to create shorties just as well as the normal and double bladed corrupted blades.

It actually looks good with all the anims (exept for the "use lightsaber on door"- animation, which looks like crap, and flourish which includes real bad self-mutilation :xp: ), i have been testing the animations for a while now, pausing the game in action to see clipping and stuff, and it works quite well. Next up is the boring work again, getting all the colors in game. Then getting the double blades in game, and after that i gotta figure out how to make them upgradeable. Once that is done, ill make the armors, and if everything goes well there might even be a little surprise coming:xp:

A little update here: Im finished with the exporting the short sabers and have got them in game. I will probably start working on the exporting of the double bladed corrupted blade tomorrow.

Another little update here: I decided to make the different corrupted blades´ stat bonuses in this way: Short gives ab, normal gives ac and double does extra damage. Actually they all do a little extra damage, but the double does the most. This is both good for the players and the mod itself, as you will get to fight first three apprentices, one str based melee with a double bladed, one sneaky assassin with the shorties and finally a force user armed with a single saber, dueling and the feat that adds wis modifier to ac (hopefully making him a hard target). After those you get to fight their master, who is a freaking hybrid dude. Or would be if he was alive... *spooky laughter*

Thanks, but there probably wont be much to look at here in the coming days as i have to learn making the sabers upgradeable at the same time im actually doing it. Ill hopefully get tainas replacer tool soon too so i can start to work on the main bad guy.

Basically i have been planning on making the blackguard (the name may change, its a bit of a cliche name but i sorta like it) some sort of ancient warriors of dark side, not quite sure when they could have been active. Im open for suggestions on this. But the are not really sith, they are less brutish and more hungry for personal power, mainly in the different areas of war. But if anyone has advice, please feel free to post it here. I may use it if i like it, but dont take it granted that all ideas will be taken.

Heres also a small overview of the story of the mod:

In this mod you will be asked by a archeologist, probably a twilek woman since they are always just dancer girls:xp: in the bar on nar shaddaa to go to dantooine to recover some evidence of the Bgs´ existence. So you go there, find the tomb but there are people alive inside. Then comes the part in which you hack & slash a few hundred minions down, along with some officers who wield scythes and have some special skills. After this frantic killing you will meet a brutish looking guy with a double-bladed corrupted blade and he will tell you that he is an apprentice of (install name here later, havent given much thought to it yet:p), and that his master wants him to kill you. Then you fight him, and proceed. There will be two more apprentices, and then you will fight the master himself. Thats all im willing to give out now on the plot here:xp: But the actual plot will be smarter than this, its just a short version.

And by the way, i decided to make the corrupted blades use different, completely new color crystals so some problems can be avoided. Will start that tomorrow.

Nice models and descriptions! I like the mace and the double saber, but I think the double saber is too strong.

Plot idea (if you like use it, if not no problem):

Have the Blackguard be founded by a follower of Bogan from the time of the Force Wars on Tython. He increased his weapons' powers by using them to generate hate and fear in others. Their goal is to constantly improve their weapons' powers, thus making them the perfect warriors. They have only recently become aware of the Jedi and Sith, and seek to eliminate both (the Jedi because they are descended from the followers of Ashla and the Sith because they are seen as inferior to those who continue the true teachings of Bogan).

Hmm that gave me an idea... Maybe they werent founded by him, but the first Bg found some notes or a holocron or something made by Bogan, and used it as the base of their philosophy. Thanks alot! By the way, another thing i decided is the boss Bg will use a SILVER corrupted blade! Why? cause baddies always just use red blades:P

R2-X2 i didnt think the double saber is too strong, but you made me consider taking off the 3 damage bonus. Well see if i end up doing that or not but thanks for pointing that out!

I will make the corrupted blade crystals tomorrow. Or actually their icons, everything else is done. And no, i didnt make a new saber blade, i just wanted to prevent people from cheating themselves these weapons by just using the "lower crystals" on their ordinary sabers, since these are more 1) Powerful 2) Expensive and 3) (do i sound like an ass? ) cool :xp:

And still one thing i will tell you: The player will be able to create 3 corrupted blades of their choice, one from each apprentice s/he has killed. The apprentices will probably disappear after the player kills them, and reappear (dead) in the final room, ready to be harvested of bones and... what should i call them? Well, not quite sure, but the "crystals" used inside the corrupted blades will be little pearls of rage, fear, madness and so on, ripped from the corpses with force. Yeah im a damn sick person...

I think the bone collecting idea is very good (although it's an evil one :p). and what about a the Sith Marauder unique feats(/force powers) granted if weapon is equipped?

Thats actually a nice idea, but if i make a new power it will be usable by all classes. Maybe something like "Fear strenghtened blade" that is both an attack and a buff.

The crystal madness is done, all work and have nice icons too. Next thing im gonna do is re export the single corrupted blade so that the blade is in the correct place, and then i can start working on armors. There will be 3: A robe, jal shey and a heavy/medium armor. The armor will be used by the blackguard minions, jal shey by the officers and the robes by the apprentices.

I started working on the first armor skin, which is the jal shey armor, and i kinda like what ive done so far. Will continue working on it tomorrow. And soon i might even make a proper first post with pictures and all :xp:

So here the thing i was speaking of is in game! Yep it aint the best model, nor texture, and there are lot of people who couldve made it better than i did, but they didnt:xp:

I tried to make it large enough so that the hair doesnt clip, but small enough to not look stupid. And sorry that the model looks a bit like a KKK hood.... :p

Yeah, as TDJM pointed out, can anyone say KKK? On the other hand, that's perfect for the organization you are talking about.

I think I know exactly what your armors need: a symbol. You need a symbol for The Blackguard, just like how the Jedi have one, the Sith have one, and Silveredge9's Brotherhood of Shadow has one. There should also be some patterns on your armors.

Otherwise, excellent stuff!

Yep a symbol is something that i need to come up with. Probably a skull without the lower jaw, and a knife sticking out of it :xp: And i actually said about the KKK thing myself:p I just wanted to make a hood with a long.... ehh end? what the hell should i call it? Anyway, gonna make a symbol next. and then the minion armor.

EDIT: Now after thinking it a bit over, i dont thik ill be adding the symbol to the armors. Why? Because the Blackguard wont really be such a big scale organization as the jedi or sith, but rather an ancient, long dead religion. And the armors are supposed to be "rough-looking", i want them to look like actually usable combat suits.

Ookay peepsies, a little bit of info. I started working on the minion armor today, but due to the horrible uvmapping of the model i selected it has been a brain numbingly slow process. I have decided to make the armor sort of a pile of scrap metal:xp: Well not exactly that but an armor made of little rough pieces. Im making the knee protectors look a bit different for example. It should be ready in a couple of days or:wid: Who knows, im quite busy right now.

Hey i got a nice idea: Im gonna "fix" the force crush so that on a save it doesnt do anything and even when successful the damage is lower than it normally is, and make the main BG and all the sith lords in the game have the power:xp:

Now the minion medium armor is ready. It took ages because the uvmapping of the model is made by some retar... sorry, mentally disabled person. Im not even very happy with the result, since the shader kinda blocks almost all the details on the metallic parts. But then again, knowing my skills it could be better that the little details arent very visible.



And now im off to make the final "wearable" of the mod, the robe... After that its gonna get interesting, since that i will have to learn how to reuse areas.

I think the minion armor looks good. The shader is well placed, and it looks like something a Dark Side minion would wear.

Ok now the robe is about ready. Some minor changes may take place of course but other than that its ready.



A funny thing about the texture is that its based on a grey jedi robe texture and not a dark jedi master robe.

Now all the items that will be included in this mod are ready. Im going to do a little side project, im gonna replace the basic lightsaber models in (at least) K1, maybe K2 too if my brain can take all the mdlops work before dying... And the next thing im going to make for this mod is the areas, which i dont yet know how to make. I will have to learn that along the way while making them. So what im aiming for with this post is that even though there may not be posts here for the next couple of weeks it doesnt mean that ive given up on the BG mod.

And i forgot to mention this yesterday or whenever it was i posted last time... I will look at every item sent to me, but im not going to use really low class stuff. So if someone wants DECENT items included in the mod then feel free to either drop me a pm or tell about it here. I dont want a horde of 5 min wepon models and "colorify" armor skins, so please dont send anything like that. Exept if you think it succeeded well, of course:xp: Ive made a lot of 5 min models myself, but i think most are just fine :p Keep this in mind.

Okay im back in business :xp: I hit sort of a modders block when i realised that the area i had been editing was a wrong one, and couldnt bring myself to start over again. Until this week :p I have almost all the files edited that i need to edit for the first area, exept for placeables, so i think we are gonna get a picture of my first ever modified area. Just dont exept too much, as im not the best texturer there is and i wanted to keep the same dantooine feel for this area as the basic dantooine areas have. So basically what will be changed is the level of the lighting and skymaps, more kickass changes will be applied with the new placeables that im planning to make.

Did a little "side project" when renaming the module files started to affect my mental stability in a very negative way (ever pressed ctrl+v too many times? ). Its not really a side project as it is a part of the mod i was going to do anyway but not quite yet... So i present to you, THE ENTRANCE TO THE TOMB/TRAINING FACILITY:




Im actually kinda proud of the model :xp: Didnt bother texturing the roof very much since no one is gonna see it. The walls are based on a modified korriban texture which im going to use for the tomb too (though not exactly that, ill make a new one when its needed so i can create some variety. Everything is grey, but its completely intentional as i want the whole place to look depressing and old as hell :D

Because of my great success with this one i think ill make some more placeables next :xp:

Placeable number 2. Or at least the model :p Its a cliff that the Bg mained hundreds of years ago for the dark grey rock they used to build the facility.


The rest of the new placeables will probably be just small pieces of broken walls and such, hardly worth posting pictures of them here.

Heh im still struggling a bit with the module but i think it will be in a condition that i can show it in a few days. After that I will of course have to really make placeables of these models as they are now just gmax models, but i dont think it will be much of a problem, especially with glovemasters walkmesh tutorial.

Heh even though i said i would work on the model i couldnt do it since i spent the whole last week recording our first song with my band... And then i decided to make yet another placeable model. Its just a plane really that i will use to make the vision cave-model look very different from what it is... But i just loved the texture so i wanted to show it to you too :xp:

I just now noticed the hood mods you made back in May for the models, that damn thing looks spectacular. Those hoods really remind me of our medieval age and I think it fits the time period for KoTOR too.

I don't care what anybody say's, I like it.

Oh, and the models you just made are not too bad either, so keep up the good work. (two thumbs up )
