Ever noticed how the galaxy map restricts how many planets you can add? If your an area modder you probably have. This mod is going to change that. It will add a new area you can go to (this will use the complicated way to add planets to the map to avoid compatibility issues). It will be a space station orbiting a planet. In the hanger bay there will be pilots who will take you to a new planet for a fee. There will be, included in the mod a way for modders can add a way to their planets. This mod is manly for Team Hssiss to add their areas and avoid compatibility issues. And now for everyone's favorite part.... Screenshots!

This mod will also be a platform for other mods we are planning on releasing, such as the Lost Ones by Yatsookey. We will include minor side-quests to also spice up this mod.

We'll probably add to the textures.

As for the skybox, that's new. However, the planet will be shrunk to be less pixilated.

NPCs will be introduced soon. It'll give the modules character.

Although I don't see a resemblance to Mannan's textures (then again, I haven't played the game in ages), I do see a slight seam in the floor texture. I know its not that big of a problem, but you told us to look hard at the screens. :)

Well then, your game is really messed up. They're just desaturated manann textures, as I just cheacked both KotOR and KotOR Tool.

You might want to redo your planet texture. There are a number of free ones around that are high enough res to look good in-game. Here is a sample of some that I've played around with in the past:

They aren't, I should know, i made em, only the FLOOR is. And also i found new textures I am going to use.

And DP, the planet is a high def thing but the skybox stretched it a bit. But the ones you found are better.

I might... The SB id blurry because it stretched more than it should. I am getting updated pics now, with PEOPLE hurray!

Whatever or not re used Manaan textures, I'dd introduce some color back in.
Everything being grey is going to be rather boring looking.

I'dd look into where you could add some nice accents, by giving certain textures a fresh color. You don't need to step away from grey completely :)


Plus here's a cool link to a website with links on creating cool planets, starfields, nebulas.... etc for cool space scenes. ( full of cool today :lol: )

That'll save you the trouble from scavaveging others people low JPEG work, since its on the internet.

I like the T-shaped pattern on the deck plates. Why not just create the deck plates using only that pattern instead of layering (Is that the right Photoshop terminology?) them on top of the original Manaan deck plates?

There appears to be some overlap on the texture on the bulkheads - the metal plates with the circles cut out of them. (See the edges of them on pictures 1 and 3.) I'm sure you'll get that adjusted though.

Last note: the symbol in the first picture - looks three claw marks through a cresent shape seems a bit off center. That might be intentional though as I haven't seen the symbol before.

Hmmm, I likeit. Loos less manann-ish. I suggust that you change the color of the floor to something more metallic. Looks too much like stone. Maby rusted/scuffed metal? That would be awsome.

But it may be Fett's personal symbol, as it's been spotted on Boba's shoulder plates.

@taak: we are doing our best and expect to have some mods released soon

@canderis: i meant for those textures to be used for TLO's temple area but they seem to fit perfectly for the space station as well

and to all thanks for continuing to follow team hssiss's process it has been difficult considering how many mods we have been trying to work on at the same time and we are definatly hitting some roadblocks but you should expect many things from us to be released within the coming months

Random thought, but rather than have a planet in the sky, how about something like a series of black holes or worm-holes instead? Physics aside (as to why the station is not sucked in by gravity, but that can easily be explained in-game) it would kind of enhance the idea that the space station can get you to faraway places.

@ xrefusex and DarthParametric: Thanks for the suggestions. Not that the skybox will be changed. We're not quite sure how yet but it will be changed.

@ TriggerGod: Correct. We're working on the backstory for this Station. I'm trying to also create some side-quests, and one of them may involve some gangs (like the Black Vulkars and Hidden Beks, but way more bad***.

@ Taak Farst: Thank you. We're rapidly gaining knowledge and experience.

That looks pretty good, nice idea!! I don't know how it works, but one thing I liked very much of the game was the Star Map. Is there any chance to create (maybe a bigger one) Star Map or a holographic Map with the location of the different worlds for you to select, then it opens the routine for landing to the selected world? Maybe it's a madness what I am saying.... Anyway, if there is going to be a control room, a holographic Map would be a nice detail.

You get to the different worlds from pilots but I will add a map in the control room

Well, strictly speaking no, you can't see the black holes themselves, but you can see how they effect matter around them, like stars, planets etc being sucked in and swirling around the holes. ;)

You know, theres a few things now I need to ask.
What's the story of this place?
Is it a near abandoned haunted ship kinda thing? Cause if so then the appearance is grand
If it's not, well then the appearance should be brighter, and the walls should be cleaner, and the floor should be a differeint color... Come to think of it, the floor could use a new color either way.
And is that the only area?
Cause if not, I'd like to know what your planning for the courtyards.

it is a 3 area mod. no it is not abandoned, far from it. It is owned by the exchange and they forgot about it and let it decay. There is no main story, a few side quests though. Its mainly to get to new planets and remove a main compatibility issue.

For the space stations story:
It is located on a cross road of many new hyperspace routes. The planet's system is under a hostile ruler, like a warlord,dictator. The station is mad from scaps of old warships and old space scraps. The planets ruler does not like the Republic so when the Jedi civil warr happen they took the opertunity to kick out off worlders. The space station is built and allowed to stay in the system if the statipn gives kickbacks to the planets ruler. The station was built by a company and in connection with planets ruler.

Regarding the Station Story:

Canderis and I have discussed this. The station is called Halos Station, and is controlled by the Exchange. However, the Exchange doesn't enforce their rules there, so pretty much anything goes on as long as you don't bug the local Crime Lord.

More info to come.

EDIT: Okay we have a background story for this station.

The planet you see in the screenshots is Halos. It was one ye normal inhabited planet until the inhabitants went to war and created a plague. The plague was so effective that it killed everyone there and is incurable. The only survivors were the inhabitants of the station, who eventually migrated to other worlds. Eventually the Exchange took over the station, but fail to enforce their rules effectively.

In a side quest you will have the ability to influence control of the station to a point where you can hand it to just about anyone you want to (the Republic, Sith Empire, Hutts, Czerka, even Mandalorians).

Thank you. This has been our aim for a long time and now we are putting into action.
and the textures have come a long way in a short time.
We have a lot of talented skinners, though we are trying to acquire knowledge in the other areas.

Some ideas I have yet to finish debating wit

At the moment the Exchange has a tenuous hold on this station. Both the Republic and Sith have mild interests in this, but Czerka is looking to add this to their possessions. The Hutts want control just to get back at the Exchange for infringing on the Galactic Underground.

The rewards for transferring control of the station vary.

The Republic doesn't yield much. If you are type that likes the Republic, then aside from a few credits you have the satisfaction of doing the "right thing".

The Sith yields only DS points, some credits, and a lightsaber crystal (they think you're a Dark Jedi).

Czerka pays big bucks. The station will become very efficient (good maintaince, shipments run on time), but it'll help slavery.

Getting the Hutts involved or assisting the Exchange in improving their control does little, and you'll get less money than with Czerka.

Note: I have yet to finalize the details with my team, but this is the general idea I had.

We could see a dominant Republic presence using the station for military pruposes mainly. Maybe we could see also some Republic ships ussing the station, or using it for refugees, for example from Taris or Dantooine. Also could be used as a spy station too.

The Republic is looking simply to have another station under their control, actually. This station at the moment is not important to them, only the representative stationed there is real interested in acquiring (so he can get a promotion). Also, the Republic taking over anything is not necessarily a good thing.

Some jobs might also become available in this case. However, the amount of "scum" will likely stay the same. As for Mandalorians, there ain't that many around.

Well I have gotten KotOR re-installed and, as logan said, the people where there it was just my install. I am going to finish entering in the co-ords and tweak some textures and then I we got the first out of 3 modules done!

I think that the smaller tiles work better than the huge ones. This pic, on the left side, looks good:

Thats what happens when i take my time texturing :) i do agree about the tiles, ill have to fix that when i have time, thanks redrob.
