View Full Version : [WIP] K1 Fett Armors by TeamFett

DarthJacen

Models by Xavier 2(not in the team, but we used his permission)
Skins by Te Miralda Manda'lor
Files and screenshots by DarthJacen

This was a project I requested a long time ago, but now we're close to finishing it. What this pack will do is replace the mandalorians in K1 with Boba Fett inspired armor. One set actually is Boba Fett's thank you Xavier2. There are some bugs we need help with for Ergeron's and Sherruk's armor because for some reason we get an extra helmet floating over their heads as you will see in the screenshots. It's not quite ready to be released, yet, but it's ready for alpha and beta testers. PM myself or Te Miralda Manda'lor if you want a copy of the beta.

Currupt links

Trench
06-14-2009, 09:50 PM
For me, there is some sort of problem. When I equip the armor, it makes my character look like they are wearing Soldier clothes. And when I equip the helmet, it equips the correct armor, but gives me the appearance of a beheaded Mandalorian. DarthJacen and I haven't been able to find a solution, but we believe we may be getting close.

Those screenies look good! Can't wait to test the beta!

DarthJacen
06-15-2009, 12:53 AM
Yeah, unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the Cassus Fett armor to replace the in game version, you'll have to cheat to get it, and all the others except for Canderous who comes with his own set. It's designed so you can meet these people and see them as they should have looked, in my honest opinion.

But, as I also showed in the screenies, the armors and helmets are interchangable. You can customize your beskar'gam as Te Miralda Manda'lor would say.

I'm getting the ReadMe ready for anyone who wants to beta test it. Also, if anyone is good at .2da editing (mostly heads, portraits, etc...) contact myself, Canderis, or DarthJacen.

The mod works just fine on my computer, but for some reason Te Miralda Mand'alor is having trouble. I gave him my .2das, too. So, I don't know what the problem is.

Remember when making/testing mods to use an empty override folder... that way your files are easy to spot and you won't have conflict's or issues.

Nice armors! Good luck with this mod!:thmbup1:
And I second what RedHawke said. Use an empty Override folder. I experienced some bugs in my mod because there were other mods installed. So empty your Override:)

Trench
06-15-2009, 12:25 PM
I think that may be one of my problems. I am using an empty override. DarthJacen may have a certain mod in his override folder (the Jabba's palace sidequest perhaps?) that allows his to work perfectly. I'll test it our with a few other mods when I finish setting up the patcher.

DarthJacen

Yes, I have that side quest

I like this mod, something I requested a long time ago (as have many others....)

I wish that the difference might be a little more pronounced between the different armors, beyond recolorings. Not to minimize the work you did, which I think is very nice, but I would like to see a little more individuality to the models - add/remove/change a trinket here and there perhaps.

Other than that, keep it up!

DarthJacen
06-15-2009, 05:21 PM
That would work if we had more than one model with which to work.

I am almost done setting up the TSLPatcher for anyone who wants to test this mod.

Kyr'am Galaar

If you need, I'd like to test. I've been looking for a mod like this, but the only one I could find was for TSL.

DarthJacen

Okay, then, you need to PM Te Miralda Manda'lor for the current version.

Side note: Now everyone on TeamFett has access to the beta version of the mod, so feel free to contact any one of us.

UPDATE!!-- There was an error with the TSLPatcher during the first set up. As such the mod may not be installed correctly for anyone who has decided to beta test it. I only recently discovered this problem and am now working on repairing it.

Edit-- The patcher has been fixed, and now all TeamFett members have access to it.

Alright! We have a new beta version coming out with fixed armor models that help fix ergeron and sherruks halo problems.

When I made these textures I was still getting used to GIMP. We may end up discarding these armor models and going with some new models. I hope when we do I am able to redeem myself in the eyes of the community.

Yes, we plan to use some good Jango Fett armor models by BrianWee20, but in the meantime we have a fixed beta version that is ready for public beta testing. You may download the beta, here (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7Q0HED5K). Don't worry about installation or compatibility issues the TSL Patcher should take care of that for you. I hope, you enjoy the beta and report anything you like or dislike about it.

Okay then, its become obvious that this mod won't be usable without the Jabba's Palace sidequest. We will be restarting this mod from scratch. This time using Bryan's models.

I was thinking we could reskin/ remodel the Cassus Fett Battle Armor to make it look like Jango Fett, then recolor it for the other mandalorians. Here is a good Jango Fett photo. http://www.reelcollectibles.co.nz/images/autographs/boba_jango_helmet_wm.jpg

Trench

Aw... How nice. A Fett family picture.:p. I think that would be doable. We just need Bryan to convert his custom jetpack models from K2 to K1.

DarthJacen
06-17-2009, 03:56 PM
Hey! I, just, thought of something! Remember the stowaway Sasha? She should be dressed in Boba Fett's clothes, since she was raised by mandalorians. Also, you might want to rewrite her lines to the proper mandalorian language, from the huttese she actually speaks, lol.

Trench
06-17-2009, 04:03 PM
Yeah. I might be able to convince my sister to read from a Mando'a script. Or I could just modify my own recorded voice to sound like a little girl (which could take a while considering I've got the deepest voice of all of my friends).

DarthJacen
06-17-2009, 04:07 PM
Record it at 15 fps then speed it up to 60 where the game runs. Yeah, just include a sound file translating what she says into Mando'a. We could include that as a bonus.

Trench
06-17-2009, 04:12 PM
My sister has agreed to do the VO for Sasha (at the cost of $5). I'll write up a script for her and we'll start recording (hopefully) tonight.

UPDATE-- It is now official, we have started skinning the models we will be using. This will extend the duration of time it will take to complete this mod, but it will be done. I also have another idea. Does everybody remember the Mandalorian prisoner on Korriban? He also used the Twi'lek sound file. When I am done recording Sasha's voice with my sister I could start some Mando'a for him. I would just need someone to post his dialogue here.

DarthJacen

Is it me or does the texture for your boba fett helm look almost exactly like the boba fett helm texture in Jedi Academy? =_=

maybe because maker of the helmet used that same texture. =_=

IIRC, xavier2 (I think) got permission from the AOTC-TC team to use their helmet model, and so he got it into KOTOR. Of course, it ended up using that texture.

Tobias Reiper
06-20-2009, 11:03 PM
I'd suggest improving a few of them, such as the purple ones which for some reason seem really blocky and badly textured, and possibly that one... I don't even know how to describe it other than the second armor, partially cause it creeps me out a bit, and because the purplish Cyan thing that you have there makes it seem like you just slapped on some strange texture in photoshop after using one of the selector tools, no offense.

TriggerGod
06-20-2009, 11:05 PM
I don't think he even used selection, I think they just used Invert.

Trench
06-20-2009, 11:07 PM
I am very offended! I used GIMP:D. We are going to redo the whole thing. If you are speaking of the one with a negative effect added to it (with a few other alterations) that's meant to be used by a stealth trooper. The true reason for the design will be explained in the completed mod.
I don't think he even used selection, I think they just used Invert.

Yes, that was the Kashyyyk commander's armor who was special forces and very deep under cover. The colors work well for the Kashyyyk Shadowlands as a camouflage, so I'm not worried about that design.

So, what are you trying to say with this, and use the hidden funcion. Are you accusing us of stealing or porting because we haven't done either.

Trench

I'm not sure where that's from, but both are modeled after Boba Fett's helmet so its a given that they should look the same.

WraithPrince
06-21-2009, 05:38 PM

DarthJacen
06-21-2009, 05:38 PM
We've already stated that Xavier2 used the AotC-TC skin and put it into K1, but it's been up such a long time that this is not porting at all. We used the model from the Jabba the Hutt Side Quest, found here (http://warpedproductions.echonetwork.net/jabba.html) on Prime's Website.

Your sad argument is both tiresome and irritating WraithPrince. If you do not like the texture we are using, take it up with Xavier2. It is his texture and we used it with his permission. Besides, we won't even be using this texture, so perhaps it would be best if you held your tongue.

It would seem to me that there is a significant difference between the TGA photo's and the evidence presented does not in anyway proove that these have been ported. In future please raise with moderators suspicions of porting, and not take "the law into your own hands" especially; when your evidence is inconclusive. I do not wish to see any more discussion of this nature in this thread, should you wish to convince me that there has been porting please PM me -- j7

The Mandalorian armors will now be using some models (jetpack included) made by BryanWee20, so you will not need the Jabba's Palace side quest by Xavier2 for this mod to work.
We still need to finish up the .uti's, .utc's, .2da's, etc... before we can start handing this mod out.
As a bonus, Xor (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Xor) will be receiving a custom suit of Beskar'gam that will allow his Lekku (head-tails) to stick out.
The mod is nearing completion, so hold tight, as we will need beta testers soon.

Except we need to contact Darth Deadman, now according to Darth Insidious, so lets see if we can PM him. I'm, sure, he'll say yes.

Here are some pictures of the Mandalorian skins in-game. These skins have the same problems many mods like this have, in that: The heads don't move. They just stay parallel to the body. Anyway, here are the pictures I promised you:

Hmmm... Been awhile since this thread got some TLC.
Anyway, the team has been working on the mod (of course, we won't let it die).
Right now the blaster replacements are being worked on. All the Mandalorian blaster models will be replaced, and some of the Mando'ade will be receiving custom models.
We are also planning (and even starting) some of our expansion packs for the mod.

We're currently testing our own mod throughout the game to see where the bugs are.
