Welcome to Varsity's In Progress... yeah, I had to be different and use a V instead of a W. This is where I'll be posting screenshots of things I'm working on. This eliminates the need for me to keep track of the various threads. Now I can just check one and see everything.

Imitation Qel-Droma

A pretty simple reskin of the Jedi Council Robes, meant to look like Ulic Qel-Droma's Jedi Robes (according to some google images). I realize the only thing that they have in common is maybe the color scheme, thus the keyword "imitation"

Yusanis

Yes, that's right. I did it. I skinned Yusanis. I actually originally had a different head in mind, and then I realized that it looks nothing like the Handmaiden or any of the sisters. The closest I got was the bald caucasian head. I know it's hard to see, but this was a TON of meticulous work to get this done right, so you'd better enjoy it!

Echani Saedhe

This is not the traditional Saedhe on Dantooine. Browsing the heads.2da file, I managed to find a head called N_Saedhe and I said "Oh hey!" I looked up the skin, and it look an awful lot like Carth. Using a mixture of the two, I managed to Echani-ify his head, and the result was this. This was my original choice as Yusanis, but.. he didn't look much like any of the Handmaidens.

I got a request for a reskin of Dustil Onasi, so I figured, eh, why not? The biggy is that I gave him a soul patch... Woo! If you look closer, you'll notice alot of other subtle changes. DS transitions are made, but not shown, and the portraits are apparently concept art. After I fix up some patcher issues, It'll be released for k1 and TSL.

You've reskined the original game model or this mod's head model? Because in this mod, the head model is edited not jus a reskin.

Yeah, see I WOULD provide close-ups, but my main setback is that I have and mod the xbox version. I haven't figured out how to take screenshots yet. I've been stuck giving out mods to random people and having them take screenshots for me. Not a very reliable system. As soon as I figure out how to take my own shots, then there'll be a monsoon of them.

@ Lord Spartan: I just reskinned the head--The in-game head. My screenshotter may have been using that mod, but that is not my issue.

I would never knowingly use any other modders work without prior permission. I might try to replace mods, but it would of course be with my own work.

BLONDE PFHH01

I noticed alot of people like to reskin this head. I figured I should as well. Obviously, the first thing to do is to get rid of her annoying tan (or maybe it's naturally dark skin, she is hispanic.) and then just to show off, I thought I should give her blonde hair. There aren't enough blondes in k2.

VP, I's say your chiss skin is releasable. i've played nearly all the way through with both and there hasn't been any issues.

people of Hispanic descent usually have darker than Caucasian skin (but lighter than African American)

@ Trigger God: Basically yes. I was going to make a blonde reskin from scratch, but then I noticed that the two skins were somewhat similar. Whatever works.

Less believable? Your words hurt me. I'm not sure how it's... unbelievable. But what do you suggest I do to remedy this?

Its just that your skintone reminds me of the skintone that my Anakin skin had for a lot of the time it sat, gathering dust on my HD. Its looks white, but it looks kinda pale, like he hasn't been in the sun for a long time. What I did to fix my skin tone was adjust some of the levels, and than use color balance to make the skin slightly more 'tan-ish'

EDIT: It also kinda reminds me of Brianna's pale skin.

Ah, I see your point now. If you ever saw my PFHC06 reskin, I changed the skin tone to match briannas, but of course the hair was also white (to match Atris).

I suppose I could make it slightly more radiant, but I want to avoid tans as much as possible. It reminds me too much of the super tan fake blondes around here. It's not real fitting for Minnesota...

Not a particularly needed update, but I'm bored and this is certainly something to do.

I worked on my dormant Echani Saedhe skin. It' basically Carth without those dangling hairs.



That goatee is pissing me off. Once I fix it though, then the rest is easy. As usual, I'm sure the eyebrows need more texture.

Incidentally, I happened to reskin my infamous Tainted Jedi Robes. Apparently, the previous ones weren't so hot, so I tried a less feces-looking approach.

If you like 'em, I'll quickly pack them up in a zip and release them. An expanded Taintpool mod is not likely to happen for a number of reasons: The greatest of which being "I don't really care" and other being that influence and alignment are too intertwined to do anything short of completely rewriting the whole damn system.


Last, but not least, the few of you who are looking forward to the TSL: FFM, here's the first 3 powers I managed to make. Betas will come out when I feel like it (and when I manage to release a couple of more powers, thus making putting together a beta somewhat worth it :P)

Yes and No. The Sithspawns are supposed to spawn as your combat helpers, but for balancing they may suffer "mutations" as I put it where they have low health, low strength or are just generally insane and will attack anyone.

The higher tier will have less mutations and if you have Beast Trick/Control, they will also be less likely to be insane.

Nice job over all, and the PMHC08 dark side looks really good. IMO the unnamed echani skin would look better with the scar toned down just a little bit.

Well, see, the sad thing is that I don't have dial-up... I have broadband, but my ISPs are just lazy, and instead of capping me to 64kbps like they shoul when I download over 5 gig in a month they cap me down to around 889 bytes per second to 7kbps. :xp:

Back again with a few updates on my modding activities:

As of now, the Creepy Fashion Merchant mod is decidedly DEAD.
This is primarily because the dialog I was making for him just got waaaay too complicated. The skins are still existent though, but I'm not sure what to do with them. A mod may be in store but I don't have the energy nor patience to produce enough of a variety of skins to make an actual good skin mod.

So that ship has sailed. Sad, but that's how it goes.

On the bright side, this gives me more time to focus on my strength (scripting) and I can concurrently take on and create more exciting and riveting projects.

The Sith Lords: Full Force Mod

That's right! An update to the FMM! No mod is perfect when released, so of course bug fixes are due!

I'd also like to mention that TSLFFM 2 is in the works... but seriously, do not expect it anytime soon. We do have a lot of ideas for powers, but I'm nowhere near scripting most of them.

To give you an idea of what you can expect, I'll give you this screenshot for you to deduce:

An Actual Ending Mod

For you regulars over at deadlystream, you may have come across a Malachor Mod with my name attached to it. This is true: myself and many colleagues have been bickering back and forth on just how to create an ending for TSL. Progress is slow so far, but that's probably because I've been busy helping Stoney with the HK Factory. Here's some teaser shots for y'all:

Only knowledge I have of it, would be the general storyline. Which is slightly convoluted, in the sense that it isn't all that clear on how to get the outcome you want. Perhaps making this slightly easier would improve it(or at least make it a little clearer on the way to get each ending)?

Oh yes, it is convoluted indeed. After looking through the source files, it's no wonder that they cut the whole quest: it's incomplete and certainly difficult to put together.

But, I've discussed this with Stoney. I do feel that the factory is building toward a distinct "choice-->outcome" ending. The choices before you are much clearer now.

Is done and out of my hands. Mark this: a whole 2 months to get those 2 modules finished. Let's be fair though: it's my first larger scale mod. Look for it in version 1.5, whenever that comes out.

Holy crap! Xbox model editing?

VP scores another point for Team Xbox, as he cracks problems that have already been cracked on PC... for the XBOX! I know, not all that exciting, but I'm quite proud of myself.

and here's some different saber colors I've been playing around with. Nothing particularly new, but c'mon, lightsabers are always cool. Plus, these are kind of two-toned... take a look at the pictures to see what I mean.

There is a head in-game that is distinctly specified as n_Handsis (or something of that sort). It is basically the same head as the short-haired blonde from K1. Now for some strange reason, I've not seen any mod which restores this head, so I'm taking it upon myself to do it. It seems like something any restoration project would implement, but I've not seen it done really anywhere before.

Actually, considering how big an issue this was, this is very exciting. It means that an XBox release for TSLRCM is very likely to occur, which will make a lot of fans happy.

Well, it's now time for VP's rare updates...

This time, I delve into the world of.. MODEL EDITING!

I've always wanted to edit head models (some of them could be better) and now I've got my chance!

You can expect alot more from where this one came from... and you might start seeing some Star Wars EU look-alikes :o


Anyways, this first one started off as an Atris Duplicate Head project, but then she kinda ended up looking like Jessica Alba... good for a first attempt.

There are going to be some very attractive people waltzing around your kotor screens!

Don't worry, the Malachor Mod is still underway too. We've been taking a bit of a break on it, but we'll start up again soon.

As for visas, that would be nice to see it without unmasked. I have also tried something of that nature but I am a failure. I am therefore happy on your score.

Is that the default hair from that model or did you swap it with another? If it's the latter, I've been wondering how to do that myself. Oh, and that looks great - like you said, not Atris but a really good first attempt.

If you're going for a Jessica Alba look, you might want to make the nostrils smaller, and the base of the nose a little narrower. IMO, the "outside wings" shouldn't be wider than the distance between the eyes (the point of the tear ducts). You might also want to work on the cupid's bow part of the lip (the middle of the upper lip) so that it isn't a straight line.

Thanks for the advice redrob! I agree about the nose and the lips... on the original head, they were GIGANTIC. I have yet to decide what I'm going to do with that head exactly though... my original intention was to make an Atris head (for which I think I may have a solution now) but I might as well keep working on that head and fully Jessica Alba-ize it.

Hmm, I also posted an Exar Kun head, but it seems not to be showing up... and of course I don't know where the pictures are XD. I'll try again later.

I have not a clue how to combine models together... everything came with that head. I have a few ideas that I want to try to implement, but it's nothing along the lines of standard modeling.

He doesn't look menacing/powerful/masculine enough. I think you need to square out the jaw line and chin a bit. I think that Adrian Pasdar would make a good example of what Exar Kun looked like in the comics (especially Dark Lords of the Sith #2).

I agree that it looks pretty good now, but I would say, for lack of a better term, a bit "pointy" around parts of the chin and nose if you know what I mean. Also make sure you define the nostrils because they fade into his cheeks the way you have them now.

But hey, your goal was to make him look younger and you definitely did that.

What I don't like about-it is the differenciation of colors "inside" his nose. Not sure if you'll understand what I mean, but the way it's black inside of it doesn't feel natural. Not the actual color, just the shape of the black area.

The base skin of the head (n_dopakH) is still mostly intact, so it's going to look a little strange at first... or well until I make the official Exar Kun skin for the head.

Well, scratch the Exar Kun Head.. for a number of reasons:

I just found out that I chose the wrong head to implement a scar on.... that and it was turning out to be kind of bad anyways.

Anyways, If you haven't seen it already, I have started up the casual "Ultimate Head Mod" which will basically a new head for every named human in the game.

On a side note though, I am working on some fun little mods for myself.

For those of you who know who Buckethead is, this should be a treat:

Looks a little rough, but...good god how in the hell did you manage that? Might want the robes(cloak, whatever it is), to be a bit darker for that texture. You've probably thought of that already, however...

Aside from the texture, I think it is beyond awesome that you combined those models.

One thing I think TSL needs is more variety of civilian clothing. Specifically civilian robes for the Administrator and some other higher-ups....

Don't like the old dark Jedi robes eh? Oh well, I can't release this mod anyways, hell I'm even taking a chance showing this because the model is halfway ported (I modified the hell out of PMBIL in K1) but the texture.. well yeah.

Oh and the model is rough yes, but that's because I haven't bothered to fix any verts yet.

Eh, well things don't always go so well. Ultimately, it didn't work incredibly well in this case, but maybe someone can be inspired by my progress in this area.

Anyways, a hood:

If you'll notice, the hood is nicely attached to the robe body. Take this concept a little further and it might be possible to make a more advanced hood mod.

The main problem with this comes with using mdlops: you compile a model, you need the original source model, and if you've added any bones... well, it's just not going to animate those bones at all... :( We shall find a workaround.

Anywho, I will begin working on a tutorial on how to do this. I'll probably put a robe on a standard body model or something.

Imitation Qel-Droma

A pretty simple reskin of the Jedi Council Robes, meant to look like Ulic Qel-Droma's Jedi Robes (according to some google images). I realize the only thing that they have in common is maybe the color scheme, thus the keyword "imitation"

Yusanis

Yes, that's right. I did it. I skinned Yusanis. I actually originally had a different head in mind, and then I realized that it looks nothing like the Handmaiden or any of the sisters. The closest I got was the bald caucasian head. I know it's hard to see, but this was a TON of meticulous work to get this done right, so you'd better enjoy it!

Echani Saedhe

This is not the traditional Saedhe on Dantooine. Browsing the heads.2da file, I managed to find a head called N_Saedhe and I said "Oh hey!" I looked up the skin, and it look an awful lot like Carth. Using a mixture of the two, I managed to Echani-ify his head, and the result was this. This was my original choice as Yusanis, but.. he didn't look much like any of the Handmaidens.

These would be Kotor 2 items. They could be easily made for K1 though, if I ever intend to work on them again.

The Qel-Droma robe for instance would probably be completely remodeled.

I already PM-ed him to use his flowing robes for just this. But he hasn't responded.

The problem is that the bones are a little different from the ones in TSL... in TSL the 'cape' section comes from the waist, whereas this one comes from the neck...

Not all is lost, I just want to see if it will work first, but I suppose you could contact sithspecter just in case.

What about the Tusken Raider model? I haven't looked at it in a while, so I don't know about any bones for the long coat. I do know that it uses some extra animations (the hunched over "rest" position) that would need to be taken out (khrizby's method maybe?). If you think you could use it V.P., go ahead and use anything from my playable Tusken mod (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?p=2462550#post2462550).

I like to say about 45% done... though that was what I said three months ago lol.

Seriously though, it has progressed and is progressing. Bead-V and I are working out the kinks and what not in 904MAL (Trayus Core). Soon, we'll be up to the point where the Exile enters the Academy (chronologically speaking anyways).

Yeah, I thought about that - the actual scale of the Master Sword (as Link seems to hold it anyways) seems to be pretty small... as in there would only be enough room on the hilt for one hand, which would look a little weird in kotor world. I had to do a little of my own scaling.

@LordAkarixa - I usually don't say stuff like this, but you seem to be asking a lot of modders for their files and .tga's. The files you keep asking for are part of larger mods that the individual modders are working on.
