I may be showing my age here, but I remember watching "the Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon whenever I could stay up late.

Now that Carson is gone, now "second banana" had passed on as well (at 86).

Of course McMahon did other stuff, but he's mostly known for announcing "Heeeeeeeere's Johnny!" some dog food commercials and those silly Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes commercials (where he comes to the person's door with a giant check). He was 86.

God rest their souls! You guys made me laugh and entertained a generation...

I very vaguely remember watching the Tonight Show every night with my mom when I was really little. I can clearly remember mimicking him with "Heeeeere's Johnny!" quite a few times.

RIP :(

RIP Ed.

What made me was was when I went to yahoo news to look for the story, the featured article was not this, but news that Jon and Kate + 8 was temporarily halting production. It's sad when priorities are organized like that.

I was watching the news earlier and saw no mention of this.
