Apparently he was on an airplane yesterday that blew out its front tire as it was landing. Something fell and bumped his head. He was reportedly fine, but this morning he was found dead by his wife. They haven't said whether it's related or not, but that would be quite a coincidence.

His son reported the death on twitter. :(

I did not cry for Ed McMahon
I did not cry for Farrah Fawcett
I did not cry for Michael Jackson

I cried for Billy Mays. This is just too much death for normalcy. I'm going to lose it when someone else dies, like, tomorrow.

You'd better call the loony institutions then, because I'm 100% sure someone's going to die tomorrow.

This is henceforth known as Celebrity Love week. The day we remember those extraordinary people and recognize that they are all just regular-ordinary people, too.

RIP, everyone.

I really am upset about Billy, along with his commercials I loved how he would do comedy-like stuff where he'd act just like he does in the commercials. Was just cool that he wouldn't take himself too seriously, and he was hilarious. RIP Billy.

Don't watch this video unless you're ready to feel depressed. It's his last interview before he died...

Early Reports say Billy Mays had heart disease (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20288327,00.html?xid=rss-fullcontentcnn)

So it was not the bump to the head on the flight that killed him.

I think we should sacrifice Sarah Palin to which ever god is doing this, or maybe there's a finite amount a celebrities that can die in a month, either way I'd prefer the next celebrity to die not be someone I like.

I guess now that that "tomorrow" is now today, soon to be yesterday (in fact for some of you it already is accross the pond) I guess that hip surgery isn't happening.

What a bummer. Now I'm feeling depressed. Shame on me for the wisecrack a few posts back. Why is it that the greatest of us have to die like that? --Just so sudden and unexpected? That just ****ing sucks.

Teh noes!! (http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=425092&gt1=28103)

Seriously odd though isn't it? He seemed like such a naturally jacked up guy. Not one of those drug induced jacked up guys. :raise:

Just because he used cocaine doesn't mean he was on it during the commercials.

Coke related? Well now, if that isn't just F*cked. Alas, maybe I did suspect something amiss for his unusually 'Hacksaw Jim Duggan' dimeanor.

Another victim of Coke. Wonderful >_>

^: However, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Paige, and all sorts of great artists made awesome music under the influence of crack.

I have to say, the new OxyClean commercials leave something to be desired..

While true there are a much greater number of awesome musicians who have made awesome music without a using any amount of drugs.

Crack? freebase didn't exist before the 90's. I'm sure what you meant to say was marijuana.

I dunno man

Example: Randy Roads was clean.

However, you could say by extension that his unwise decision is what got him killed. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_roads#Death)

...Rox is right, there are probably bazillions of clean 'made' musicians.
