First of all, sorry if this should be in the requests forum, I wasn't sure where to put it so I bit the bullet and put it here! :raise:
Hello to everyone, as I am new to the modding community, though anyone who is also on DA and a KOTOR nut, might know me for this (http://tansy9.deviantart.com/art/Revan-s-Return-35134881).
But that was years ago :p

I've been editing textures for Kotor and TSL for years, but only for private use, and I figured it was about time I started sharing. Trouble is, my modding skills consist of .2da editing and renaming files and that's about it. Any mods released on my own would be pretty lame, without me spending months learning to do them properly, and that's time I don't really have! I have some pretty cool textures just sitting around (even though I say so myself) :p and I need someone to help me do them justice and make some mods that are really cool!

OK here's what I've got so far, these are just TSL files atm, but I will dig up Kotor1 later and see what I've got lying around for that too!

Mira's Jacket for female PC: http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/6623/jacketf.jpg
I released a very simple version of this with my lame skillz here (http://knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com/file/Miras_Jacket_for_Female_PC;103629) but it's a bit rubbish and will need updating.

I've also got plans to do something similar with Attons jacket for Male PC, but no screens of that yet. :)

Ok, next idea: Some Jedi armor.

Obviously more colour variations will be available, I need help in giving it actual armor properties that will work with Jedi etc, I'm sure that's simple stuff for a lot of you! Another problem I've come across, is how to add it into the game without overriding other modles, and I don't know if there's a solution to that.

Some more robes: http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/6333/korriban.jpg
Similar in style, but less armored, more simple, for the modest Jedi. :p

And there will be much more to come ;)

So my plea is pretty simple, anyone who is proficient at modding Kotor and TSL and who wants to help can message me here I'm happy for the mods to be released as your own, as long as you credit me for the textures! :)
Thanks guys :D

Speaking as a modder who is mainly a skinner Tansy, there is quite a lot you can do, if you are familiar with Excel then editing .2da's will be easy, which is mainly what is done to get textures in game - and I know from your Mira mod that you are more than capable of that. To be honest that was an excellent first mod, and I think you have what it takes to go solo. It is also possible to get things in game without scripting; you can put your items in shop inventories, or on the few unique placeables there are in game.

Thanks, I have been trying for a while to get things to work in the game how I wanted, but there are some elements that I don't really understand, such as the .UTI files which give items their proporties, though not for lack of trying! It seems a bit like a lazy cop-out, I know, I've been messing around all summer trying to package up decent mods, but the summer recess is finishing in two weeks time and I have to go back to University next weekend, so I will have precious little spare time, :( and none of it will get devoted to modding.
I thought that it might be better if I give the textures to someone else who knows what they're doing, otherwise I will forget all about them untill a years time, and nothing gets released!
If no one takes up the offer then maybe I'll go back to them one day and see what I can rustle up myself, but it's not a guarantee!

Uti's are actually the simplest thing, in KotOR tool, you can set the texture variation; which determines the texture, most game textures only go upto 30 - which means as you can go 1-99, there are 60 free. So to perform a mod, you just need to change the model. So in your case, lets say you add your Jedi Robes to the heavy armour slot on the PC - you could set the texture to 30, you then change the texture variation in the .uti, to 30.

Let me explain how the standard Jedi Robe works in K2. All the Jedi Robe textures are called PFBI(2 numbers) or PMBI(2 numbers) the F and M are female and male. So for the standard Jedi Robe which is a_robe_08 its texture is PMBI04 or PFMB04 - and the texture in the .uti is set to 4. Does that help? Uti's are very simple to edit, you've actually done far more challenging modding in some of your mods already!
