I can't open the gate in the swamp

First time I tried to do exactly what Guybrush did, I managed to open the gate with the key, but somehow I got it screwed up and made a paradox...So the next time I tried, I couldn't open the gate, I refused to open the gate, cause I thought that it was Pegnose that was disguised as me. I can't open the friggin gate, and I dunno what to do anymore.

If you enter a paradox you start right from the beginning with the swamp adventure.
