View Full Version : [WIP] K1 Axxila; Coruscant, but inside-out

10-18-2009, 11:29 PM
I always felt like K1 lacked game content. So I decided to add a planet :)

The planet Axxila is pretty much an entire city like Coruscant or Taris.

Basically when you arrive on Manaan (spelling?) You get a message from the governor of Axxila requesting your presence. When you arrive the planet is pretty much overwhelmed with crime, drugs, gangs, murder, violence. The governor wants you to help rid the planet of it all and make it a better place because the planet is on the verge of a civil war. But when you save the planet from a civil war, a new threat arrives and you find yourself fighting waves of Sith.

I just started this today but I do have the first model done and I am working on texturing it right now. The first model is pretty much the landing area which is on top of the Capital Building. It seems kinda bland but it is the top of a building so what more can you expect?

Well its SW, so perhaps odd looking vents for the cooling/ heating of the tower.
An communication array, with disks and antennas.

Since you said you're going to the govenor/ leader of the planet, wouldn't he have a vert fancy looking building?

And other building towers surrounding your landing top.
Just spamming some ideas ;)

Nice start!

Well, this sounds a lot like the lower city of Taris. It might be nice to include lots of dark alleyways filled with people trying to sell you 'spice'. Lots of hobos, and some lower class aliens, like Ithorians, Twileks, and perhaps rodians. It might be a good idea to include a greeter droid at the top of the building, so it's not completely empty.

This post was mainly about storyline, and npc's, but hopefully you'll still find it useful. :)

A little outcrop thing for a turbolift that allows you to go down either to the building inside or the city floor (Like the one on the Telos polar plateau in K2). I agree that a droid greeter would be a good idea. Also add some containers, lockers, etc around the top. One last thing may be some droid security.

I really like the idea that you are on a top of a building.

Also... you might add a DS option to this... like you can talk to the governor or a crime lord... and if you talk to the crime lord in the end you have to assassinate the governor. :)

Well after finally getting time to work on this I decided to redo the model over because I wasn't happy with the way it looked, it felt too messy IMO and rather large. So after redoing here is what it looks like so far.

Heh, I just noticed the Ebon Hawk looks a bit big for that landing pad :raise:

Not really... it reminds me of the landing pad on Nar Shadaa... the landing pad there is tiny ahaha...

This looks promising :) Keep up the good work!

Quick update, I got the texturing done and am trying to do the walkmesh.

In case you're wondering that gray rectangle thing on the floor is an elevator.

Quick tip, since your using 3ds, you can get the most out of your textures. Taking shots of the viewport is handy for showing the wireframe/edged faces, but for texture shots, click on the render button on the top, and press render. (My 3ds has it hotkeyed as Shift-Q, and I don't play around with changing the hotkeys.) That way, your area looks all around better.

All he needs now, is some lights and Mental Raaaaaaaaaay!
Then again it'll look so much better then in game >_>

I find it very interesting to have the landing pad surrounded by the other towers.

not bad

Wow! That's a nice module Pyrros. I can't wait to see what's next.

New screens of the main module I guess. Kinda like the Taris Upper City Streets you could say. It was gonna be 2 medium sized modules like this but I made this one somewhat big so now it's just 1 main area. I haven't started on the details of the buildings and stuff yet and don't plan to do that until tomorrow.

I'm not sure if I like the way it looks right now so I might redo it and I might not, haven't decided yet if I like it

Great job. Just wondering, will you make it compatible with Sleheyron when Quanon and Disbeliever finish it? I know I may be thinking a little ahead of time, but this mod you're making is getting me excited.
