boulders

i have a little problem,im on monkey island and i was playing around with the boulders, i moved a couple branches and no matter what i do now i can't get a boulder to make a clearing in the lava pool

When you pick up a stone then the text indicates the order to throw them. Throw twice in the last one.

Ok, u have to drop each boulder in each chute EXACTLY when the branch moves. Here is the order of the boulders:
Right, Middle, Left, Left.

They have to be EXACT, and only when a branch moves.
