JK4?...

TIE Fighter 2?

Sequel to Force Unleashed?
Battlefront III?
New Tie Fighter game?
Super Monkey Island 2 HD Turbo Remix?

Fingers crossed it has 'Jedi Knight' in the title. (yeah right, wishfull thinking)

If it's as disappointing as another Battlefront game, I'll cut LucasArts out of my heart. It better an Imperial strategy game where you play as THRAWN.

Alexrd
11-26-2009, 04:44 PM
Or Battlefront III. But my dream is still a new Jedi Knight game. ;)

Knights of the Old Republic III?

That would be the stupidest thing to do, when TOR is on his way out.

Darth Avlectus

A new Jedi Knight? Maybe a new adventure altogether?

The Old Republic, maybe?
Knights of the Old Republic III?

A K3 would be awesome. I seriously wish, but I'm afraid it ain't happening.

I'm not sure of when TOR is coming out, actually. I thought it was in May next year. But I could be wrong.

That would be the stupidest thing to do, when TOR is on his way out.

I *dare* you to go to the outer regions of the knights of the old republic forum and say that. There are still people who like the idea, regardless. Maybe not a good business strategy yet, but all things considered it'd make a good backup plan/contingency for business if TOR doesn't quite work out. >_>

I don't really have any idea which property will be, but it's gotta be a sequel to an existing series. I don't really see them coming up with another new game idea when they have so many old series people have been asking for sequels for. Most likely seems to be Battlefront 3 since we know that was in development at one point, maybe they found a new developer for it after the previous one went under.

I want: JK4

We're gonna get: The Force Unleashed 2

SWTFU sold like 7 bajillion copies... an announcement on Spike TV isn't going to be an unknown like JK4...

But, it may be Battlefront III, cause they were in development of that before it was shut down or something. Though it may be back in the land of the living.

I'd actually be quite happy if it is Battlefront III. We're certainly lacking a good next gen Star Wars multiplayer game atm, and from the leaked video I saw some time ago, it looked fantastic.

Well I'm glad this thread has this much buzz. But lets face it, it's going to be on a commercial video game award show. The reveal is going to have to have splosions and stuff for the not-so-hardcore star wars fan. My thoughts also go with Force Unleashed 2. Not bad, but not what we all love.

Although my money is on a Battlefront III or a TFU 2, I'm quite uninterested in the concept of either, particularly the latter. Let's face it: There hasn't been anything "new" out of LucasArts in the Star Wars realm that was of any substantial quality. As much as I'd love a TIE Fighter successor or a KotOR III, that would only be treading previous ground. Ergo, LucasArts needs to effectively produce and develop a new game of high-calibre before they whet our collective appetites for a franchise reboot.

DarthSquee
11-29-2009, 01:03 AM
According to Mark Griskey's twitter, he's working on the music for whatever this game is and he already has developed a "Theme" for it. I don't think Battlefront ever needed its own "theme", so I imagine its going to be a game that takes place outside of the movies. So that might rule out the possibility of it being BFIII... (But knowing its Mark Griskey doing the music, it might be either KotOR III or TFU2, or something completely new)

Kjølen
11-29-2009, 04:33 AM
It's sounding more and more like a new intellectual property, now. Then again, TFU2 might need a new theme, too, I guess.

Oh I do hope they are customizable. I need someone to occasionally hold my Watermelon flavored Arizona and to flip the bird to unwelcome intruders. Maye use a ultrabright burning laser (on this page http://amazing1.com/laser_pointers.htm) to light some of my pyro on new years...

My money is on a new game using the TFU engine. Perhaps, Force Unleashed 2?

Unless its plot is based on the "infinities" comics, I really don't see where else it could go. Though I'd still dig on a TFU2.

Maybe a prequel into the KOTOR games? (Or I finally get my wish for a GTA-esque-or-better based SW title.[/wishful thinking])

<snip> (But knowing its Mark Griskey doing the music, it might be either KotOR III or TFU2, or something completely new)

I would say that unless Kotor3 has been in secret development by obsidian and is about to hit us in the jaw with a knockout punch, that is highly unlikely. Though I have wondered if L.A. behind the scenes hasn't given an OK to obsidian to finish KOTOR 2 as they had intended. Afterall, the modding scene in Holowan has grown and lived, so it's hard not to notice as a potential competitor for story content.

Isn't that normal?

Not for most of the more memorable announcements I can recall. I guess it's hard now days to really surprise people when everything gets leaked through the internet. Even if it is normal though, I still think it's lame. I guess I've just been burned so many times with these pre-announcements, with all the disappointing viral marketing and such. I tend to associate it with creating artificial hype as a way of over-compensating for a less than exciting announcement. Though maybe I just think that because I prefer to be caught off-guard when it comes to that sort of thing. *shrug*

Half-Life 2's announcement was a total surprise and was announced 4 months before its (original) release date. The best announcements are total surprises. Given that this is on Spike TV, I'm going to go with either:

1) Force Unleashed Sequel
2) Battlefront Sequel
3) New IP from the Star Wars universe (console only since Lucasarts is abandoning the consumer base that made it a viable company in the first place :()

If the little preview morsel at the end of the recent 501st novel was any indication, there will be an obscene and awesome amount of blood, pain, and mayhem. I have many questions waiting to be answered.

A SW game where prominent figures from all times in SW come together and do battle. Sort of like Battlefron, JK series, and maybe an action version of KOTOR games on top. A fighter game. [/wishful thinking]

I know the last time they tried anything like it was masters of Teras Khasi for SNES. Still, it might be nice to see some sort of marvel vs capcom or mugen sort of deal but purely in SW.

@ thread: I'm watching Spike VGA's right now. Jack Black just got the best voice. "Eating my own ass" comment was lol.

EDIT: Mace Win-- err, Samuel L. Jackson, just announced SW:TFU*2*.

Yeah... except not. I was really expecting L4D2 to be worse than it actually was after they banned it. I guess it just doesn't effect me any more because I've been playing all of those murder simulators.

Reading the thread might help. ^

Judging from everyone's reaction, I'm gonna guess it's not worth trying out the first one either.

The game just doesn't deserved the massive hype that LucasArts gave. But overall it's not a bad game.

Good graphics but bad controls, crappy platforming, and wussy lightsaber combat that takes 2-6 hits to kill a regular foot soldier.

As of now I officially no longer care for Lucasarts....I think it is time someone new does Star Wars games IMO.

Yes. Raven can do more Jedi Knight like action games, Bioware does more RPGs, Pandemic can do another Battlefront, I don't care if its the same as the previous two....I just want to play something good! I would love it that way. LA depresses me....:(

@ IG-64: I'd add that TFU is also not great because
1) some levels are way too big and take forever
2) because it takes forever, the repetitive hack'n'slash gets tiring

Those were my biggest two qualms.

It's The Force Unleashed II.

Damn...ain't that a bitch.

 Like we all new that wasn't gonna happen eventually. Although I would've liked to have seen a new JK, but another TFU is good enough for me.

Unless it sucks....

LucasArts, the masters of disapointment.

The trailer on the official website might as well have been directed by Michael Bay.
"Why have one lightsaber when he can have two? Why a rancor when there can be like... something BIGGER than a rancor? Let's have things exploding for no reason as he walks down a hallway. Hey, let's put in some voice overs from the movies for some reason."

Indeed. I just saw the trailer and it was very ridiculous.

Yes, the days before Galen Marek was fighting Jedi and starting the Rebellion, he was apparently competing against beasts in a gladiator arena. Who writes these stories?

Just gotta love the way the Rancor get's thrown. Maaaaaaaassive :P
But yeah, they're also putting an online support to it. Who knows, you'll see fifteen Marek's sabering eachothers skins off.

I'm curious, though I preferred something... New but oldskool, like a next gen Jedi Knight 4... We'll see what happens, hopely

Wait, it's gonna have multiplayer?

Earlier in the day a Kotaku tipster emailed us describing exactly this trailer. The tipster said the game is being developed internally at LucasArts and will be out in late 2010. "It is everything the first game could/should have been and a lot lot more (online support!)" the tipster wrote.

This is AFTER the first Force Unleashed, hence the fact that Vader says that he's a brink of his former self, that he has weakened, that he must accept blablabla.

Anywayyyy, if there are two lightsabers, then there is one, and a double one. Maybe they've put more sabertypes to the game to "spice it up". But whatever they do, it still stay a hack'n'slash.

And one more thing. Don't you think the monster-that-is-bigger-than-the-rancor looks a lil' bit like King Kong ?

It's a teaser, I don't see the problem here. I know that a new Jedi Knight would be better, but the trailer is not that lame as you try to show...

Alex is right. The teaser ain't that bad. Why does he let things explode? Because of his anger. Why does he have two lightsabers? Maybe he's become stronger. Why put a BIGGER monster? A BIGGER challenge? I liked the teaser, but I just am pessimist because the first one had a nice trailer too, but didn't give what we expected. But I'm also optimistic for the online play. Mahahah can't wait to saber limbs off !
